IntegratedCrafting is a mod in All the Mons 1.3.0, where it is version 1.6.0. Craft stuff in Integrated Dynamics networks. (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is IntegratedCrafting?

2 parts

IntegratedCrafting adds autocrafting to an Integrated Dynamics network. This pack ships version 1.6.0, and the mod's one item that the quest book points you to is the Part Interface Crafting, the Crafting Interface.[1][2]

You put the Crafting Interface on a crafting table, then store autocrafting recipes on Variable Cards and load them into it. The recipes are made with the Logic Programmer, so this mod builds directly on the Integrated Dynamics basics.[2]

Where it sits in the quest book

The pack has no separate chapter for this mod. Its quest lives in the "Integrated Dynamics" chapter, in the "Logistics" group. That chapter is number 34 of 70 in the book and has 27 quests.[2]

The quest is a quest in "Integrated Dynamics", titled "AUTO CRAFT". It comes right after a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" (Getting Advanced), the same quest that leads to a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics". After AUTO CRAFT, the next quest is a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" (Shows Recipes), which covers a terminal part that shows which crafting recipes are running at any time.[2]

What the quest tells you to do

  1. Place a Crafting Interface on a crafting table and right-click it to get slots for Variable Cards.[2]
  2. In the Logic Programmer, search for Recipe in the top left, create a recipe for autocrafting and save it to a Variable Card.[2]
  3. If a recipe needs items that must be crafted themselves, create a recipe for each of those too.[2]
  4. Put all the recipe cards into the Crafting Interface.[2]

How do you get started with IntegratedCrafting?

4 parts

IntegratedCrafting adds autocrafting to Integrated Dynamics networks. The order here is simple: make the interface, teach it a recipe, then start a job with the writer. Later you can upgrade to the attuned version.[2][3]

Step one: make the Crafting Interface

Start with the Part Interface Crafting. It tells the network where and how things can be crafted. You point it at a machine such as a crafting table or furnace, and it is bound to that machine to handle its recipes. In the pack's quest book, a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" (AUTO CRAFT) asks you to craft it. It sits in the Integrated Dynamics chapter and comes after another quest there.[2][3]

Step two: teach it a recipe

The basic interface learns recipes from Variable Cards that you put into its GUI. The quest walks you through it:[2][3]

  1. Place the Crafting Interface on a crafting table and right-click it. This gives you slots for Variable Cards.[2]
  2. In the Logic Programmer, search for Recipe in the top left and create a recipe for autocrafting. Save it to a Variable Card.[2]
  3. If the recipe needs items that must be crafted themselves, make a recipe for each of those too.[2]
  4. Put everything into the Crafting Interface.[2]
Tip: The Crafting Interface has blocking mode on by default. The machine accepts one recipe at a time and only starts the next once the previous one has finished. You can turn it off in the interface's settings for machines that process several inputs in parallel.[3]

Step three: start a job with the Crafting Writer

Next, make the Part Crafting Writer. The mod has advancements for inserting a manually created recipe for Oak Planks into a Crafting Interface, and for using a Crafting Writer to start a crafting job for Oak Planks. That makes a good first test.[3][4]

Step four: upgrade to the Attuned Crafting Interface

Once you are further into the game, craft the Part Interface Crafting Attuned. You do not add recipes by hand with it. It reads and exposes every recipe the target machine has, the same ones the Machine Reader lists. Some modded machines may not be supported, and you will see a red border when you place it on one.[3][4]

This recipe uses the basic Crafting Interface as an ingredient, so keep making that one first.

Because it exposes all of a machine's recipes, you will want to trim the list. In its GUI, recipes with a green border are exposed to the network. Click one to give it a red border and remove it, and click again to restore it. The search field matches recipe names, mod names and recipe ids, and the Enable, Disable and Invert buttons apply to whatever the search currently matches. For example, searching for minecraft: and pressing Disable hides every vanilla recipe in one go.[3]

How does IntegratedCrafting work?

8 parts

IntegratedCrafting adds autocrafting to Integrated Dynamics networks. Everything revolves around one idea: you tell the network where and how things can be crafted, then you start jobs and let machines do the work.[3]

The Crafting Interface

The Part Interface Crafting is the heart of the mod. You point it at a machine, such as a Crafting Table or a Furnace, and it becomes bound to that machine. Then you open its GUI and insert Variable Cards that hold recipes. Each card tells the interface that the bound machine can craft that recipe.[3][4]

Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: integratedcrafting:crafting/part_interface_crafting

Like most Integrated Dynamics parts, you can set its channel, priority and tick rate. You can also choose the target side separately for each ingredient type. That helps when a machine takes items from the sides but fluids from the top.[3]

Starting and running a crafting job

You can start a job with the Part Crafting Writer. The mod also exposes write aspects for crafting a given item, fluid, energy amount or recipe. The network then picks one or more Crafting Interfaces that have a matching recipe.[3][4]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped
Crafting TableOutput Variable TransformerCrafting Table

Recipe id: integratedcrafting:crafting/part_crafting_writer

All the ingredients a job needs are pulled from the network and held inside the job in the interface. That stops them from being used elsewhere before the job finishes. The interface then inserts the inputs into the bound machine, based on the storage network contents provided by Integrated Tunnels interfaces.[3]

Watch out: The Crafting Interface does not import results from the bound machine. You must get the outputs back into the network yourself, for example with an active Integrated Tunnels importer on the machine, or by letting the machine output straight into the interface. The Crafting Table is the exception: it only needs a Crafting Interface. A job only counts as completed once the expected outputs show up in the storage network.[3]

Anything inserted into a Crafting Interface, whether items, fluids or energy, goes into the storage network on the configured channel.[3]

Blocking mode

Blocking mode is on by default. The machine accepts only one recipe at a time and starts the next only when the previous one has finished. If a machine can process several inputs in parallel, you can turn blocking mode off in the interface's settings GUI. Then, for a job with a multi-amount request, as many inputs as possible are processed at once.[3]

Distributing jobs

For slow machines, you can spread one crafting job over several Crafting Interfaces. The example from the mod is splitting 40 iron ingots evenly over 10 furnaces. For that to work, every machine you distribute over needs a Crafting Interface that exposes at least exactly the same recipe.[3]

Dynamic recipes

Recipes come from Variable Cards, so they can be fully dynamic. A recipe could change with day or night, or with whether a certain item is in the network. Interfaces detect when a recipe is updated and all new jobs use the new version immediately. Jobs that are already running keep the old recipe.[3]

The Attuned Crafting Interface

Later in the game you can craft the Part Interface Crafting Attuned. You don't add recipes by hand. It reads and exposes all recipes available in the target machine, the same ones listed in the Machine Reader. Some modded machines aren't supported, and the interface shows a red border when you place it on one.[3][4]

Recipe id: integratedcrafting:crafting/part_interface_crafting_attuned

Exposing everything can be too much. A Crafting Table alone accounts for hundreds of recipes. So the GUI shows every recipe as an output icon, and you choose which ones the network may use.[3]

  • A green border means the recipe is exposed to the network. Click it to get a red border and grey it out, so no new crafting job uses it. Click again to bring it back.[3]
  • Hovering over a recipe shows its output, its recipe name and the ingredients it needs.[3]
  • Hold the mouse button and drag over recipes to change many at once. The recipe you start on decides whether the drag enables or disables.[3]
  • The search field matches recipe names, mod names and recipe ids. The Enable, Disable and Invert buttons apply to whatever the search currently matches. Searching for minecraft: and pressing Disable hides every vanilla recipe in one go.[3]

Debugging jobs

If a job doesn't work, use the crafting aspects of the Network Reader. They can list all available recipes, all active crafting jobs as recipes, and the ingredients being crafted. Showing these lists in Display Panels helps you find the problem. If you have Integrated Terminals installed, the Crafting Job Terminal can show running jobs and missing ingredients, and can cancel jobs.[3]

Pack settings that affect the mechanics

These are the values in this pack's config file. Energy use is counted per crafting job being processed. The general.general.interfaceCraftingBaseConsumption option is 5 for the Crafting Interface and general.general.interfaceCraftingAttunedBaseConsumption is 10 for the Attuned one. The Crafting Writer's general.general.craftingWriterBaseConsumption is 1.[5]

How do you progress through IntegratedCrafting?

6 parts

IntegratedCrafting has no quest chapter of its own in the pack. Its quest lives in the "Integrated Dynamics" chapter, in the Logistics group (chapter 34 of 70 in the book). It is not on the ATM Star quest path, so you reach it when you choose to go down the logistics route.[2]

The road to autocrafting

The chapter starts at "Integrated Dynamics" quest. From there you make Menril Resin in a Squeezer, dry it into a Block of Crystallized Menril in a Drying Basin, and turn that into Crystallized Menril Chunks with "Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest. The quest calls those chunks the main crafting ingredient of Integrated Dynamics.[2]

After the chunks you set up Logic Cables, then "Variable Cards" quest, which lead to the Input and Output Variable Transformer quests (a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics"). Those two transformers matter for this mod, because the crafting recipes below are built around them.[2][4]

The a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" quest ("Getting Advanced") follows the untitled checkmark quests about moving stuff. Right after it, the "AUTO CRAFT" quest, a quest in "Integrated Dynamics", asks you for the Part Interface Crafting. That is the only IntegratedCrafting item the book asks for. A follow-up quest, a quest in "Integrated Dynamics", asks for the Crafting Job terminal part from Integrated Terminals, which shows which crafting recipes are running at any time.[2]

Tier breakdown

The recipe dump lists three IntegratedCrafting items. All three are listed as the mod's own recipes, and nothing in the sources shows the pack changing them.[4]

Setting up your first autocrafter

The AUTO CRAFT quest gives the basic setup. Here is the flow it describes:[2]

  1. Place the Crafting Interface on a crafting table and right-click it. This gives you some slots for Variable Cards.[2]
  2. Open the Logic Programmer, search for Recipe in the top left, and create a recipe for autocrafting. Save it to a Variable Card.[2]
  3. If the recipe needs items that must be crafted themselves, create a recipe for each of those too.[2]
  4. Put all the recipe cards into the Crafting Interface.[2]
Tip: Do the Logic Programmer quest first. You need it to write the recipe cards, and the AUTO CRAFT quest comes right after it in the book.[2]

How does IntegratedCrafting work with other mods?

3 parts

IntegratedCrafting is a add-on for Integrated Dynamics, and in this pack that shows up everywhere. All three of its items are crafted from Integrated Dynamics components, so you need that mod's progression before you can touch autocrafting.[4]

Crafting recipes

The Part Crafting Writer is built around the Output Variable Transformer and a Crafting Table. The recipe is the mod's own, not a pack change.[4]

Where the quest book puts it

IntegratedCrafting does not get its own chapter. Its quest sits inside the "Integrated Dynamics" chapter, in the Logistics group (chapter 34 of 70 in the book, with 27 quests).[2]

The quest is called AUTO CRAFT (a quest in "Integrated Dynamics"), and it asks you to get the Crafting Interface. It comes after the Logic Programmer quest, the same one that the a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" quest follows.[2]

The chain that leads to the transformers used in the recipes is: Logic Cables, then Variable Cards, then the a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" quests. The quest book describes the input transformers as crafting ingredients for things that do importing.[2]

How the quest has you use it

  1. Place a Crafting Interface on a crafting table and right-click it. This gives you some slots for Variable Cards.[2]
  2. Open the Logic Programmer, search for Recipe in the top left, create one for autocrafting and save it to a Variable Card.[2]
  3. If a recipe needs items that must themselves be crafted, create a recipe for each of those too, then put everything into the Crafting Interface.[2]
Tip: Five quests in the Integrated Dynamics chapter are not covered here, so check the quest book for anything extra they say about autocrafting.[2]

Which All the Mons quests use IntegratedCrafting?

3 parts

IntegratedCrafting has no chapter of its own in the quest book. Its quest sits inside the Integrated Dynamics chapter, which is in the Logistics group and is chapter 34 of 70 in the book. The chapter has 27 quests, and you work through most of the Integrated Dynamics basics before the crafting one.[2]

The path to the crafting quest

  1. "Integrated Dynamics" quest opens the chapter. It introduces Integrated Dynamics and gives you a guidebook as a reward.[2]
  2. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" take you through the Squeezer and the Drying Basin. They lead to "Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest, which the quest calls the main crafting ingredient of the mod.[2]
  3. After the chunks, the chapter branches. "Logic Cables" quest is the one that leads on to the crafting quest. Next to it are the Wrench, the Honeycomb, the Energy Battery and the interface quests.[2]
  4. "Variable Cards" quest follows Logic Cables, and then come a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics". Those unlock the Importing and Exporting quests.[2]
  5. A few checkmark quests explain how to move stuff with interfaces, importers and exporters. They are followed by a quest in "Integrated Dynamics", titled Getting Advanced.[2]

AUTO CRAFT

a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" is the IntegratedCrafting quest. It comes after the Logic Programmer quest and asks you to get the Part Interface Crafting.[2]

The quest text explains the setup. You place the Crafting Interface on a crafting table and right-click it to get slots for Variable Cards. Then you use the Logic Programmer, search for Recipe in the top left, create a recipe for autocrafting and save it to a Variable Card. If a recipe needs items that must be crafted too, you make a recipe for each of those, then put everything into the Crafting Interface.[2]

The Logic Programmer quest also leads to a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics". They are side steps on the way, not requirements for the crafting quest.[2]

What comes after

The next quest is a quest in "Integrated Dynamics". It follows the AUTO CRAFT quest and shows which crafting recipes are happening at any time. That is the last IntegratedCrafting-related step in this chapter.[2]

Which IntegratedCrafting config options matter?

4 parts

IntegratedCrafting keeps its settings in config/integratedcrafting-common.toml. Here is how this pack has them set, grouped by what you're likely to notice in play.[5]

Crafting interface behavior

Duration estimates

Crafting interfaces remember how long recipes took, and use that to estimate how long future crafting jobs will take. These options control it.[5]

Energy use

Analytics and version checking

The pack sets both core.general.analytics and core.general.versionChecker to false. The first controls an anonymous startup analytics request, and the second controls the version checker.[5]
