What is NuclearCraft Neoteric?

1 part

NuclearCraft Neoteric is a re-creation of the classic NuclearCraft for a modern Minecraft version. It adds new resources (ores, ingots, dusts, plates and parts), processing machines, storage blocks, radiation, tools and multiblock structures like fission and fusion reactors. This pack ships version 1.2.36.[1][2]

The fission reactor works much like the original, with some changes. It has two modes, energy and boiling, and it can now make new recipes thanks to the Fission Reactor Irradiation Chamber and the Irradiator. The mod also has its own radiation system (contamination, spread, decay and shielding) that works together with Mekanism's radiation.[1]

Where it sits in the quest book

The mod has its own chapter, "Nuclear Energy". It is in the group "Storage and Power" and is chapter 21 of 44 in the book, with 58 quests. The chapter splits into a few lines you can follow:[3]

A smaller piece of the mod shows up earlier, in the "Useful mods and Items" chapter (chapter 3 of 44, 37 quests). Its "Infinite Water" quest quest asks for the Pump and the Water Collector, Compact Water Collector and Dense Water Collector. The text of 4 quests in that chapter isn't covered here, so check the quest book for them.[4]

Tip: This mod is not on the ATM Star quest path in this pack. Its quests sit in their own chapter, so you can take on the reactors whenever you like.[3]

How do you get started with NuclearCraft Neoteric?

4 parts

NuclearCraft Neoteric adds processing machines, radiation and multiblock structures like fission and fusion reactors. In this pack the quest book lays out the order in its "Nuclear Energy" chapter, which sits in the "Storage and Power" group. Here is how I'd work through the start of it.[1][3]

Pump, collectors and the Supercooler

The chapter opens a chain with the a quest in "Nuclear Energy" quest for a Pump. The next quest in that chain asks for the Helium Collector, Nitrogen Collector and Water Collector, and the Supercooler comes after that. The Supercooler lowers the temperature of fluids. The "Infinite Water" quest in the "Useful mods and Items" chapter groups the pump with the water collectors as an easy way to get infinite water.[3][4][5]

Assembler (nuclearcraft)

The Dense Water Collector is made in the Assembler.

Isotope Separator for your fuel

The Isotope Separator separates materials into their constituent parts. Its quest comes right after "Uranium and Thorium", and the "Fission Fuel" quest follows it. Fuel is the next thing you need before a reactor makes sense.[3][5]

The fission reactor

The "Fission Reactor" quest comes after "Fission Fuel". It asks for two Fission Reactor Port and a Fission Reactor Controller, plus a fuel item. The reactor has two modes, energy and boiling. After it, the book asks for four Fission Reactor Solid Fuel Cell, and the "Heat Sinks" quest follows the cells.[1][3]

Multitool and radiation safety

The Multitool is used to interact with and configure multiblocks, and it is highly recommended to carry one at all times. In this pack it is an Assembler recipe, so you need the Assembler first. The book asks for the Assembler later in the chapter, after the a quest in "Nuclear Energy" quest, and the Multitool turns up again in the Accelerator Beam Port quest.[3][6][7]

The Multitool is crafted in the Assembler.

Watch out: Radiation is a real mechanic here. The Hazmat Suit lowers your exposure, and a full set is strongly encouraged because partial coverage helps less. The Geiger Counter shows your current irradiation level, so sort out protection before you work with radioactive materials.[8][9]

After the reactor, the same chapter continues into the Irradiation Chamber and Irradiator, then on to accelerators and fusion. Those get their own sections.[3]

How does NuclearCraft Neoteric work?

8 parts

NuclearCraft Neoteric is a modern re-creation of the original NuclearCraft. It adds processing machines, radiation, and multiblocks like fission and fusion reactors. This section covers how the machines, multiblocks, power and automation behave in this pack, using the values the pack ships.[1]

Tip: Carry a Multitool. It is the tool for interacting with and configuring multiblocks, and you will use it a lot.[7]

Processors and upgrades

Processors turn one material into another, usually using energy. The set includes the Manufactory, Isotope Separator, Decay Hastener, Fuel Reprocessor, Alloy Smelter, Fluid Infuser, Melter, Supercooler, Electrolyzer, Assembler, Ingot Former, Pressurizer, Chemical Reactor, Crystallizer, Fluid Enricher, Fluid Extractor, Centrifuge and Rock Crusher.[5]

In this pack the Alloy Smelter has a base power of 50 (alloy_smelter.base_power) and a base time of 200 (alloy_smelter.base_time). Most of the other processors in the config share those values.[10]

The irradiator (irradiator.base_power) and the nuclear furnace (nuclear_furnace.base_power) both have a base power of 0 in this pack.[10]

A typical processor recipe: the Alloy Smelter makes Ferroboron.

The pack also adds its own routes. Rhodochrosite Dust can be smelted into Manganese Oxide Dust, and the pack adds an alloy smelting recipe that turns Baratol dust into Baratol Ingot.[6]

The pack also added its own irradiator recipe. A platinum ingot now irradiates into a neutronium ingot, with a power modifier of 1, a radiation value of 1 and a time modifier of 10.[11]

Upgrading a processor

Most processors have upgrade slots on the side of the GUI. Slot 0 takes Energy Upgrades and slot 1 takes speed-type upgrades. Single-slot processors take any speed-type upgrade.[12]

  • Speed Upgrade: +1 speed per item, up to 64 per slot. Recipes run faster, but energy cost grows quadratically.[12]
  • Energy Upgrade: cuts energy cost and grows the internal buffer. You need these to keep a heavily sped-up processor affordable.[12]
  • Stack Upgrade: runs ceil(count / 4) recipes per tick, capped at 32. It is more energy-efficient than raw speed.[12]
  • Quantum Upgrade: x5 speed and 1 parallel recipe per item. It is the end-game tier, so pair it with many Energy Upgrades.[12]

With GregTech energy compatibility on, every N Energy Upgrades raises the processor's accepted EU tier by one step.[12]

This pack sets N to 16 ([[config:config/NuclearCraft/common.toml#GregTech Energy Compatibility.energy_upgrades_for_next_tier]]), sets the processor tier to MV, and uses both GTCEU and FE with GTCEU preferred. The pack's config notes that these settings only count if GTCEU is supported.[13]

In situ leaching

The Leacher pulls resources out of the ground without mining. Place it and it highlights where the pumps go. Then insert a data source and supply acid and energy. One mode uses an analyzed map. The other uses a research paper with mineral vein info, and there the Leacher must sit in the exact chunk containing the vein.[14]

The pack's processors config sets the vein size range at 50,000 to 1,000,000 blocks per vein and a veins rarity of 70 (bigger means fewer veins).[10]

Pipes and automation

The Universal Pipe carries items, fluids and energy through one network. Pipes only move the network around, and a Pipe Connector is what talks to the adjacent block. A fresh connector transports nothing until you tick Items, Fluids or Energy in its GUI.[15]

Most multiblocks can also be read and driven from ComputerCraft or OpenComputers v2, and the two APIs share method names.[16]

Fission reactors

A fission reactor is a rectangular prism whose edges must be Reactor Casing, with walls of Reactor Glass, casing, or both. Without a controller it will not form. The Reactor Port moves items, fluids and energy in and out and handles redstone and computer access. Moderators must touch fuel cells, and each extra fuel cell speeds up fuel depletion.[17]

Heatsinks balance the reactor. Aim for a net heat of 0 HU/t. A cell with one moderator line has 100% heat efficiency and a cell with two has 200%. Each heatsink has placement rules. For example, the iron heat sink (heat 80) lists the gold heat sink as its rule, and the lead heat sink (heat 60) lists the iron heat sink.[17][18][19]

Boiling mode is switched off in this pack (fission_reactor.supports_boiling_mode is false), so energy mode is the one you use.[20]

Watch out: The reactor can collect 1,000,000 heat before meltdown, and an overheat explodes with a radius of 4 (TNT size).[20]

The molten salt reactor is 5 to 11 blocks in size. Each fuel cell holds up to 10 pebbles and contributes 10,000 mB of shared internal volume that salt, coolant and pebbles all draw from.[20]

Fuel goes through a full cycle. You craft Fuel Americium Hea-242, the reactor controller recipe turns it into depleted fuel, and the Fuel Reprocessor recovers materials from that.[6]

Turbines, heat exchangers and fusion

In this pack the turbine multiblock is 5 to 17 blocks in size. Steam flow is 2,000 mB/t per blade, and the energy generation multiplier is 10. Coil efficiency is a percentage set per coil metal (gold, copper, magnesium, beryllium, silver and aluminum) in the turbine config. Coil placement rules are in the same file. For example, the copper entry lists the gold coil.[21]

The heat exchanger is 5 to 15 blocks in size. Each interior block adds 100,000 mB of tank capacity per tank and processes 50,000 recipe progress units per tick. Each radiator block in the shell removes 1,000,000 heat per tick. Interior blocks draw 200 FE/t standby while redstone-powered, and running out of energy halts processing.[22]

The fusion reactor ranges from 1 to 32 blocks in size and needs a minimum magnetic field of 8. The basic electromagnet draws 1,000 FE/t and the basic RF amplifier draws 500 FE/t. The best RF amplifier listed, the BSCCO one, supplies 4,000,000 voltage.[23]

Accelerators

Accelerators are built from Accelerator Casing or Accelerator Glass. They need the controller and at least one port in the casing. Inside runs a line of Beam Blocks, with RF Amplifiers (voltage), Dipole Magnets (dipole strength) and Quadrupole Magnets (focus) around it. Coolers go around those to carry the heat away.[24]

Recipe id: nuclearcraft:accelerator_beam_port

A linear accelerator is 5 blocks wide and tall and at least 6 long. It needs an Accelerator Ion Source at one end and a beam port in output mode at the other. A Synchrotron is a square ring 5 wide with at least 4 dipoles, and it needs an existing beam as input. In this pack the minimum input energy for ring accelerators is 5,000 kEV, and the default scale preset allows sizes of 6 to 100.[25][26][27]

The output energy of a linear accelerator follows Eₓ = E₀ + |q|·V. Redstone strength scales it as E = Eₓ·Sᵣ/15, so a strength of 15 gives full energy.[25]

The particle chambers have their own size ranges in this pack. The target and decay chambers are 5 to 11, and the collision chamber is fixed at 17. The decay and collision chambers consume a base of 2,000 RF per tick. Target chamber recipes turn one material into another, for example Uranium 235 into Plutonium 238.[6][27]

Target Chamber (nuclearcraft)

Recipe id: nuclearcraft:target_chamber/alpha-21000-uranium_235

Watch out: Past its maximum temperature (400 K in this pack) an accelerator enters an overheated lockout for 1,200 ticks. Processing stops, and redstone or computers cannot restart it until the cooldown ends. Coolant and passive heat exchange keep working during the lockout. You need at least 2 Accelerator Coolant Vents, one input and one output, switched with the Multitool. Liquid Helium is 4 K and Liquid Nitrogen is 70 K.[24][27]

Power and storage

The simple generators are Solar Panels, RTGs and the Steam Turbine. In this pack the basic solar panel generates 28 and the elite one 1,792. RTG output climbs by type, with the californium RTG at 4,096. The Decay Generator base is 128 and the one-block steam turbine base is 80.[13][28]

Barrel capacity in buckets is 128 (basic), 512 (advanced), 2,048 (DU) and 8,192 (elite). The Engineer's Crafting Table is an autocrafter with 6 container slots and up to 36 patterns. It has a 10,000 FE buffer, accepts 1,000 FE/t, idles at 100 FE/t and spends 200 FE per craft.[13][29]

How do you progress through NuclearCraft Neoteric?

4 parts

In this pack the NuclearCraft path is laid out by the "Nuclear Energy" quest chapter, in the "Storage and Power" group. It is not one straight line. A few starting quests branch into fission, fusion and a particle accelerator that leads to a Kugelblitz, and you can work on them in parallel.[3]

Fission tier

Everything fission-related starts at "Uranium and Thorium" quest, which asks for items from item filters. It leads to the Isotope Separator quest, then "Fission Fuel" quest, then "Fission Reactor" quest.[3]

  1. Isotope Separator: the quest asks for the Isotope Separator. a quest in "Nuclear Energy" also unlocks here and asks for the RTG generators.[3]
  2. Fission Reactor: two Fission Reactor Port, one Fission Reactor Controller and a stack of an accepted item from a filter.[3]
  3. Fission Reactor Solid Fuel Cell: the quest asks for the Fission Reactor Solid Fuel Cell. Moderators branches off the reactor quest at the same point.[3]
  4. Heat Sinks comes after the fuel cell quest. Irradiation Chamber needs both Moderators and the fuel cell quest, and asks for the Fission Reactor Irradiation Chamber.[3]
  5. Irradiator: the quest asks for the Irradiator, and it is the gateway to the accelerator branch below.[3]

After Heat Sinks, the Decay Hastener quest asks for a Fuel Reprocessor and a Decay Hastener. From there the fuel quests run in order: Neptunium and Plutonium fuels, then Curium and Berkelium fuels, then Californium fuels. Active Heat Sinks needs both Heat Sinks and the Supercooler quest.[3]

If you want Berkelium HEB-248 fuel, there are two routes in this pack. One is a shapeless crafting recipe, and the other is an EnderIO alloy smelting recipe that the pack adds.[6]

Water, cooling and fusion

The cooling line begins with the Pump quest. The next quest, a quest in "Nuclear Energy", asks for the collectors, and then comes the Supercooler. The Fusion Reactor Coolant quest follows and asks for fluids.[3]

Fusion Fuel unlocks once Deuterium and Tritium are done. The Fusion Core quest needs both Fusion Fuel and the coolant quest, and asks for the Fusion Core. After that the quests run on through the Fusion Reactor Connector and the reactor chamber, and end with the "Getting ready" fusion checklist.[3]

The "Infinite Water" quest in the "Useful mods and Items" chapter groups the pump and all three water collector tiers. The top tier, the Dense Water Collector, is built in the assembler.[4][6]

Assembler (nuclearcraft)

Accelerator branch

This branch hangs off the Irradiator. The quests start with Silicon N Doped, then the Assembler and the Basic Processor. The next quest asks for the Linear Accelerator Controller and Accelerator Port.[3]

Then come the Accelerator Ion Source Port and Particle Beam quests, followed by the Accelerator Beam Port quest, which also asks for a Multitool.[3]

After that come Amplifiers and Beam Focus, then Accelerator cooling, which also waits on an untitled quest called "Feeding the Blackhole" that comes after the Subatomic Liquifier. Particle source follows, and then the Target Chamber Controller quest, which asks for the Target Chamber Controller and target chamber ports. The chain continues with In/Out particles, the Particle Chamber Camera and Detectors, and finishes with Silicon P Doped.[3]

A target chamber recipe is what turns a Silicon Wafer into Silicon P Doped.[6]

Kugelblitz and the endgame

The Kugelblitz quest is a checkmark described as a black hole made out of light. Together with the Irradiator it unlocks the Neutronium quest, described as the base component of the Kugelblitz chamber. After Neutronium, the Chamber Port quest asks for a Chamber Terminal, Chamber Port and many Neutronium Frame.[3]

The pack ships its own irradiator recipe that turns platinum ingots into Neutronium Ingot.[11]

The Chamber Port quest opens two lines. One asks for the Quantum Transformer and leads to Quantum Transformations. The other asks for the Subatomic Liquifier, which leads to "Feeding the Blackhole", the quest the accelerator cooling step waits on.[3]

After the transformers, the quest line continues through the Event Horizon Stabilizer, Quantum Flux Regulator and Photon Concentrator quests to "Producing a blackhole", which asks for EXPL.[3]

Quantum Transformations also unlocks "Extreme isotopes" (very effective fuel), which asks for Xenorium 298 and Quantite. These recipes cover the Xenorium route.[3]

How does NuclearCraft Neoteric work with other mods?

7 parts

NuclearCraft Neoteric doesn't live in its own bubble in this pack. Its items show up in recipes from Mekanism, Thermal, Mystical Agriculture, Ex Deorum, Botania, Blood Magic add-ons and more. Here are the links I can confirm from the pack's recipes, scripts and quests.[6][11]

Boron and Ferroboron

Boron is where NuclearCraft ties in most with other mods. The pack adds a crafting recipe that turns Boron Essence from Mystical Agriculture into 8 Boron Ingot.[6]

8× Boron IngotAdded by the pack

Crafting Shaped

8 × Boron Essence

Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/nuclearcraft_boron_ingot

Ex Deorum feeds in too. The pack changed its recipe so Boron Ore Chunk counts as Boron Ore. It also changed the NuclearCraft Manufactory recipe that grinds 4 of those chunks into 2 Boron Dust.[6]

Interchangeable blocks

The pack lets you swap NuclearCraft storage blocks with other mods' versions using stonecutting, so you don't get stuck with the wrong one. It works in both directions for Bronze Block and Thermal's Block of Bronze. It also works for Aluminum Block and Aluminum Block.[6]

Extreme Ingot has a pack recipe to compact it into Extreme Block. A second recipe turns the block back into 9 ingots.[6]

Nuclear waste and the irradiator

The pack changed the Decay Hastener recipe for Americium 242. It now gives Thermal's Lead Dust.[6]

Lead DustChanged by the pack

Decay Hastener (nuclearcraft)

Recipe id: nuclearcraft:decay_hastener/americium_242

The pack also has its own Irradiator recipe. Platinum ingots (anything in the forge platinum ingot tag, so any mod's platinum) become Neutronium Ingot. The recipe uses a time modifier of 10.0, a power modifier of 1.0 and a radiation value of 1.0.[11]

Endgame Extended Crafting recipes

A lot of the pack's endgame crafting table recipes need a NuclearCraft item alongside items from many other mods. These are the ones I can confirm:[6]

Mystical Agriculture seeds

Several Mystical Agriculture seeds need NuclearCraft parts. Graphite Seeds use Graphite Ingot in a Botania runic altar recipe. Titanium Seeds use Niobium Titanium Electromagnet in an Extended Crafting combination recipe.[6]

The tier 6 crafting table recipes use Fuel Uranium Heu-235 for Awakened Draconium Seeds and Hsla Steel Ingot for Neutronium Seeds.[6]

Titanium SeedsAdded by the pack

Combination (extendedcrafting)

Recipe id: combination_mysticalagriculture:titanium_seeds

Radiation and computers

The mod page says NuclearCraft Neoteric has Mekanism radiation compatibility, with spread, decay and shielding working both ways. You can run both radiation systems at once or disable one of them. I haven't checked which option does that in this pack's configs.[1]

Most NuclearCraft multiblocks can also be read and driven from ComputerCraft peripherals or OpenComputers v2 devices. The two APIs use matching method names and return values, so a script ports between them by changing only how you get the handle.[16]

In the quest book

The NuclearCraft quests are in the "Nuclear Energy" chapter. It sits in the "Storage and Power" group, as chapter 21 of 44, and has 58 quests. Several of its tasks accept item filters instead of one fixed item, so other mods' items can count for them. Two quests in the chapter weren't available to me, so check the book for those. The "Useful mods and Items" and "Extended Crafting" chapters are also in the quest book, and I haven't read them.[3]

Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use NuclearCraft Neoteric?

6 parts

NuclearCraft Neoteric shows up in three quest chapters in this pack. Almost all of it is in "Nuclear Energy", with two smaller appearances in other chapters.[3][4][30]

Nuclear Energy

This is the main chapter, in the "Storage and Power" group of the quest book. These quests have no prerequisite and act as starting points: "Kugelblitz" quest, "Uranium and Thorium" quest, a quest in "Nuclear Energy", "Tritium" quest, "Deuterium" quest and an untitled checkmark quest (a quest in "Nuclear Energy"). From there the chapter splits into several lines.[3]

Fission line

  1. "Uranium and Thorium" quest asks for two item tags, 64 of each. a quest in "Nuclear Energy" comes after it and asks for the Isotope Separator.[3]
  2. "Fission Fuel" quest comes after the separator quest and asks for 64 of an item filter. After it comes "Fission Reactor" quest, which asks for 2 Fission Reactor Port, a Fission Reactor Controller and 64 of another item filter.[3]
  3. Two quests follow the reactor quest. a quest in "Nuclear Energy" asks for 4 Fission Reactor Solid Fuel Cell, and "Moderators" quest asks for an item tag.[3]
  4. "Heat Sinks" quest comes after the fuel cells. "Irradiation Chamber" quest comes after both the moderators and the fuel cells and asks for the Fission Reactor Irradiation Chamber. a quest in "Nuclear Energy" follows it and asks for the Irradiator.[3]
  5. a quest in "Nuclear Energy" comes after heat sinks and asks for the Fuel Reprocessor and the Decay Hastener. Three fuel quests then follow in order: a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (neptunium and plutonium fuels), a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (curium and berkelium fuels) and a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (californium fuels).[3]
  6. Also after the separator quest there is a quest in "Nuclear Energy", which asks for four RTGs: Uranium RTG, Plutonium RTG, Americium RTG and Californium RTG.[3]

Utilities and fusion

a quest in "Nuclear Energy" asks for the Pump. a quest in "Nuclear Energy" comes after it and asks for the Helium Collector, Nitrogen Collector and Water Collector. Next is a quest in "Nuclear Energy" for the Supercooler, then "Fusion Reactor Coolant" quest, which has three fluid tasks. "Active Heat Sinks" quest comes after both the Heat Sinks quest and the supercooler quest.[3]

"Fusion Fuel" quest is a checkmark quest that comes after "Deuterium" quest and "Tritium" quest. "Fusion Core" quest comes after both it and the coolant quest, and asks for the Fusion Core. After that the order is "Fusion Reactor Connector" quest (8 Fusion Reactor Connector), "Fusion Reactor Chamber" quest, "Radio Frequency Amplifiers" quest, "Electromagnets" quest and finally the four-checkmark "Getting ready" quest.[3]

Kugelblitz and quantum line

  1. "Neutronium" quest comes after both "Kugelblitz" quest and the Irradiator quest. a quest in "Nuclear Energy" follows and asks for a Chamber Terminal, 2 Chamber Port and 125 Neutronium Frame.[3]
  2. The chamber quest branches. a quest in "Nuclear Energy" asks for 48 Quantum Transformer and is followed by "Quantum Transformations" quest, then "Extreme isotopes" quest (Xenorium 298 and Quantite).[3]
  3. Also after the transformer quest: a quest in "Nuclear Energy" asks for 72 Event Horizon Stabilizer, then a quest in "Nuclear Energy" asks for 26 Quantum Flux Regulator, then a quest in "Nuclear Energy" asks for 6 Photon Concentrator. The last step is "Producing a blackhole" quest, asking for 6 EXPL.[3]
  4. The other chamber branch is a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (Subatomic Liquifier), then a quest in "Nuclear Energy", a fluid quest.[3]

Particle accelerator line

This line starts after the Irradiator quest with a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (Silicon N Doped), then a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (Assembler) and a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (Basic Processor). Next is a quest in "Nuclear Energy", which asks for the Linear Accelerator Controller, 64 of an item filter and 4 Accelerator Port.[3]

After that the order is a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (Accelerator Ion Source Port), a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (64 Particle Beam) and a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (the Accelerator Beam Port and a Multitool). Then come "Amplifiers" quest and "Beam Focus" quest. "Accelerator cooling" quest comes after Beam Focus plus the fluid quest from the Kugelblitz line, and is followed by "Particle source" quest.[3]

The end of the chapter is the target chamber: a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (the Target Chamber Controller and 2 Particle Chamber Port), "In/Out particles" quest (4 Particle Chamber Beam Port), a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (Particle Chamber Camera), "Detectors" quest, an untitled checkmark (a quest in "Nuclear Energy") and finally a quest in "Nuclear Energy" (Silicon P Doped).[3]

Other chapters

In the "Useful mods and Items" chapter, "Infinite Water" quest is described as an easy way to get infinite water. It asks for the Pump, Water Collector, Compact Water Collector and Dense Water Collector.[4]

In the "Extended Crafting" chapter (group "Production"), three quests ask for items from this mod: a quest in "Extended Crafting" for the Potassium Ingot, a quest in "Extended Crafting" for the Thermoconducting Ingot and a quest in "Extended Crafting" for the Hard Carbon Ingot. The Potassium and Hard Carbon quests are among the many that "The one and only" quest comes after.[30]

Which NuclearCraft Neoteric config options matter?

7 parts

These are the NuclearCraft Neoteric settings you are most likely to care about, with the values this pack uses. I only call something a pack change when the config comment itself states the mod default.[13]

Radiation

The big one: radiation.enabled is false in this pack, so radiation is switched off. The Mekanism link (radiation.mekanism_radiation_integration) is true, and the file still defines per-biome and per-dimension values, but they only matter if you turn radiation on.[31]

Fission reactor

Turbine

Fusion reactor and particle accelerator

GregTech energy tiers

[[config:config/NuclearCraft/common.toml#GregTech Energy Compatibility.gregtech_energy_compatibility]] is GTCEU_AND_FE, meaning both energy systems are used and GregTech is preferred. The tier settings below only count if GTCEU is supported.[13]

  • [[config:config/NuclearCraft/common.toml#GregTech Energy Compatibility.fission_reactor_energy_tier]] is EV.[13]
  • [[config:config/NuclearCraft/common.toml#GregTech Energy Compatibility.turbine_energy_tier]] is EV.[13]
  • [[config:config/NuclearCraft/common.toml#GregTech Energy Compatibility.fusion_reactor_energy_tier]] is IV.[13]
  • [[config:config/NuclearCraft/common.toml#GregTech Energy Compatibility.processor_energy_tier]] is MV.[13]
  • [[config:config/NuclearCraft/common.toml#GregTech Energy Compatibility.accelerators_energy_tier]] is ZPM.[13]
  • [[config:config/NuclearCraft/common.toml#GregTech Energy Compatibility.kugelblitz_energy_tier]] is ZPM.[13]

Plutonium-239 bomb

This pack makes the bomb bigger and faster than the defaults named in the config comments. Here is each value:[13]

Watch out: pu_239_bomb.fast_block_writes is true. That makes blasts far faster, but skips neighbor updates, fluid flow, falling-block triggers and Forge block events inside the blast.[13]

Wasteland anomalies

The anomaly system is switched on with anomalies.enabled, and the wasteland biome (Biome.wasteland) and dimension (Dimension.wasteland) are both enabled.[13][32]

Unverified Ore generation, machine (processor) settings and material settings live in config/NuclearCraft/ore_generation.toml, config/NuclearCraft/processors.toml and config/NuclearCraft/materials.toml. The sources here do not show those files, so their values are unverified.

What changed in NuclearCraft Neoteric between versions?

2 parts

Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships NuclearCraft Neoteric 1.2.36. The mod was already in the pack by version 0.0.45.4 or earlier. I have no pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[2]

Recent releases

  • 1.2.36 (the version in your pack): the fission reactor designer GUI was updated, and an overheat penalty for accelerators was introduced.[2][33]
  • 1.2.34: added the Fission Reactor Designer and Multiblock Builder blocks, plus the Fission Reactor Plan item.[34]
  • 1.2.32: listed only as "New content and fixes", with no further detail in the changelog.[35]
  • 1.2.26: added a PU-239 nuke and its recipes, along with minor fixes.[36]

Fixes and smaller additions

  • 1.2.23: fixed bugs with Stack and Quantum upgrades, NuclearCraft affecting block updates, Radaway slow being uncraftable, and voiding storage containers.[37]
  • 1.2.22: radiation fixes (including a client freeze when re-joining), added missing translations, and a fix that stops block updates from a background thread, which caused an infinite loop that froze the game. Decay generators also got fixes.[38]
  • 1.2.21: fixed the irradiator continuing to process after the fission controller was removed, and reverted the inventory ticking timeouts.[39]
  • 1.2.20: added a new upgrade for processors, fixed linear accelerator energy consumption, and updated the decay generator recipe, plus minor fixes.[40]
  • 1.2.17: fixes for the accelerator multiblock and added KubeJS support for custom particle sources, plus minor fixes.[41]
Tip: The 1.2.20 decay generator recipe update comes from the mod's own changelog. To see the exact recipe used in this pack, check it in the recipe viewer rather than relying on the changelog.[40]
