What is Baubley Heart Canisters?
2 parts
Baubley Heart Canisters brings back the old Tinkers' Construct heart canisters, reimagined as Baubles/Curios. They are worn in a Curios slot, and Curios is required for the mod to work. This pack includes version 1.20.1-1.2.0.[1][2]
What the mod does
Hearts come in tiers, and each tier has its own source. Red hearts drop from hostile mobs, yellow hearts from boss mobs such as the Wither, green hearts from the Ender Dragon, and blue hearts from Wardens (Evokers on 1.18 and older). All of those drops can be changed in the config. You can also craft each tier from the previous ones, so check JEI for the recipes.[1]
The Heart Amulet holds all of your Heart Canisters in a single slot. Its Curio type can be changed in-game or in the config file.[1]
- Soul Heart Canister: it only works in the Soul Amulet. It acts like a Totem of Undying that heals you back to max health, then reverts to a Blue Heart Canister once it is used.[1]
- Soul Heart Amulet: it works like the Heart Amulet, but it can also hold Soul Heart Canisters.[1]
- Vitality Blade: a sword that gains attack damage from your Heart Canisters, with each canister adding 2.[1]
- Relic Apple: a crafting item made with two Diamonds and two Emeralds. Eating it gives Haste II, Strength II and Resistance II for one minute.[1]
The mod also changes the Warden so it drops Echo Shards, which makes them renewable. Starting health can be changed in the config too, and any value of 0 or below resets to the default.[1]
In the quest book
The pack's quest book covers the mod with one quest, "Heart Canister" quest. It sits in the chapter "Useful mods and Items", which is chapter 3 of 44 and holds 37 quests. The quest asks you to get the Miniature Red Heart, the Red Heart Canister and the Heart Amulet.[3]
The rest of that chapter is a mix of utility mods, for example the Magnet, the Tool Belt and the Digital Miner quests, so the Heart Canister quest sits among other handy extras.[3]
How do you get started with Baubley Heart Canisters?
7 parts
Welcome to the heart canisters! This mod brings back the old Tinkers' Construct style heart canisters as accessories, so your first goal is simple: make a Red Heart Canister, then put it in a Heart Amulet. The pack's quest book walks you through exactly this in the "Heart Canister" quest quest, in the chapter "Useful mods and Items" (chapter 3 of 44). Its tasks are the Miniature Red Heart, the Red Heart Canister and the Heart Amulet.[1][3]
Step 1: Get a Miniature Red Heart
Red hearts drop from hostile mobs, so go fight some. This pack sets the hostile red heart entry in heartEntries.red.hostile to 0.05, so don't expect one from every kill. Drops are configurable, which is why it's worth checking that file instead of trusting the mod's defaults.[1][4]
Step 2: Craft a Canister
The Canister is the empty container that goes into your first Red Heart Canister.[5][6]

Step 3: Make a Relic Apple
The Relic Apple is a crafting item, and you need one for your first Red Heart Canister. You can also eat it to gain Haste II, Strength II and Resistance II for one minute.[1][5]

Step 4: Collect a Wither Bone
The Red Heart Canister also needs a wither bone. The Wither Bone is a crafting item that drops from Wither Skeletons. The pack's drop rate is 0.15 in General.boneDropRate, so you may need to farm a few skeletons.[1][5][6][7]
Step 5: Craft the Red Heart Canister
Now combine your canister, heart, apple and bone. This recipe is shapeless, so the arrangement doesn't matter.[5]

Where to go next
Each higher tier is crafted from the previous one. The Yellow Heart Canister is built from a Red Heart Canister, and the Green Heart Canister from a Yellow one. The pack has changed the recipe for the Blue Heart Canister, and the smithing recipe for the Soul Heart Canister too. Check both in JEI before you plan them.[1][5]
How does Baubley Heart Canisters work?
8 parts
Here is the first thing to know: this mod isn't about machines. The sources describe Baubley Heart Canisters as heart canisters that you wear as Baubles/Curios, and they list no machines, multiblocks, power or fluids for it. So the mechanics below are about collecting hearts, upgrading them through tiers, and wearing them.[1]
Where hearts come from
There are four heart colours. Red hearts drop from hostile mobs, yellow from boss mobs (the Wither, for example), green from the Ender Dragon and blue from Wardens. All of these drops are configurable.[1]
This pack sets its drop entries in heartEntries.red.hostile at 0.05, and in heartEntries.yellow.boss, heartEntries.green.dragon and heartEntries.blue.minecraft:warden at 1. The red entry is by far the lowest of the four.[1][4]
Two crafting drops are also set in the pack's common config. Wither Bones come from Wither Skeletons, and General.boneDropRate is 0.15. The Warden also drops Echo Shards, which makes them renewable, and General.echoShardDropRate is 0.5.[1][7]
Melted hearts and miniature hearts
Each colour has a miniature heart and a melted version. Smelting a miniature red, green or blue heart gives you its melted form, and the pack adds an Ender IO alloy smelting recipe for each of those alongside the normal furnace recipe. Crafting a melted heart back into a miniature heart is another recipe.[5]

Melted hearts also convert between tiers. Red goes to yellow, yellow to green and green to blue. The reversed recipes turn one melted heart of a higher tier into 9 of the tier below it.[5]
Canisters and tiers
The mod page says each heart tier can be obtained through recipes that use the previous tier. The canister tiers run in this order: Canister, Red Heart Canister, Yellow Heart Canister, Green Heart Canister and Blue Heart Canister. The recipe blocks below show exactly what each one needs.[1][5]

A Soul Heart Canister can only be used in the Soul Amulet. It acts like a Totem of Undying and heals you back to max health. Once it is consumed it reverts to a Blue Heart Canister. In this pack General.soulHeartReturnChance is set to 1. The config describes it as the chance for the Soul Heart to return a Blue Heart Canister after being broken.[1][7]
The pack has also changed the smithing recipe for the Soul Heart Canister.[5]
Vitality Blade
The Vitality Blade is a sword that uses heart canisters to gain attack damage, and each canister increases the damage by 2. You open its canister slots with Shift-Right click.[1][6]

Health Patches
The recipes shown for the red, green and blue patches use a miniature heart of the same colour plus string and wool. The pack sets each patch's healing and cooldown in the common config. According to the file, heal amounts are in half-hearts (so 2 is 1 full heart) and cooldowns are in seconds.[5][7]
- Red Health Patch: heals 2 ([[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.redPatchHealAmount]]) with a cooldown of 5 ([[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.redPatchCooldown]]).[6][7]
- Yellow Health Patch: heals 6 ([[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.yellowPatchHealAmount]]) with a cooldown of 10 ([[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.yellowPatchCooldown]]).[6][7]
- Green Health Patch: heals 10 ([[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.greenPatchHealAmount]]) with a cooldown of 20 ([[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.greenPatchCooldown]]).[6][7]

Endgame uses in the pack
The pack's own scripts use many of these items in Extended Crafting table recipes. The Ultimate Heart recipe takes the hearts, melted hearts, canisters, patches and Soul Heart Crystal from this mod, along with many other hearts from other mods. The Ultimate Stew recipe uses the Melted Blue Heart, Miniature Blue Heart and Relic Apple, among many other foods.[8][9]
How do you progress through Baubley Heart Canisters?
10 parts
Heart canisters in this pack are a straight upgrade chain. You start with the plain Canister, make a Red Heart Canister, then climb through Yellow, Green and Blue, and finish with the Soul Heart Canister. Each canister after Red uses the previous one as an ingredient, so you can't skip a tier.[5]
What the quest book covers
The quest "Heart Canister" quest sits in the chapter "Useful mods and Items" (chapter 3 of 44 in the book, 37 quests). It asks for Miniature Red Heart, Red Heart Canister and Heart Amulet. The tiers after Red are not asked for by any quest in that chapter, so the recipes below are your guide.[3]

Tier 5: Soul Heart Canister
The last step is a smithing recipe, and the pack changed this one too. It upgrades your Blue Heart Canister into the Soul Heart Canister.[5]
Making the hearts
Each coloured miniature heart is crafted from its melted version: Melted Red Heart, Melted Yellow Heart, Melted Green Heart or Melted Blue Heart. Here is the red one as an example.[5]
Crafting Shaped
| any heart | ||
Recipe id: bhc:red_heart
The melted hearts also convert up the colour ladder in the crafting grid, from red to yellow to green to blue. Going back down is shapeless: one Melted Blue Heart gives 9 Melted Green Hearts, one Melted Green Heart gives 9 Melted Yellow Hearts, and one Melted Yellow Heart gives 9 Melted Red Hearts.[5]
You can also smelt any miniature heart into its melted form in a furnace. The pack adds an EnderIO alloy smelting recipe for each of the four colours as well.[5]
Soul gear and the Vitality Blade
Once you have all four coloured miniature hearts, you can craft a Soul Heart Crystal.[5]

The crystal combines with a Heart Amulet to make the Soul Amulet.[5]
The Vitality Blade uses the Red, Yellow, Green and Blue canisters, a Heart Amulet and a Soul Heart Crystal. The Soul Heart Canister is not part of that recipe.[5]

Endgame uses in the pack
The pack's Ultimate Heart is an Extended Crafting table recipe. From this mod it asks for all five canisters, all four melted hearts, all four health patches, all four miniature hearts and the Soul Heart Crystal, alongside many items from other mods.[8]
The pack's Ultimate Stew recipe also takes Melted Blue Heart, Miniature Blue Heart and Relic Apple, among many other foods.[9]
How does Baubley Heart Canisters work with other mods?
4 parts
In this pack, Baubley Heart Canisters mostly connects to other mods through endgame crafting. Its hearts, canisters, patches and apples turn up as ingredients in Extended Crafting recipes that mix in Avaritia, Allthemodium, Cyclic and more. There is also a pack-changed upgrade for the Soul Heart Canister.[5][8][9]
Ultimate Heart
The Ultimate Heart is a recipe the pack adds. It is a shapeless Extended Crafting table recipe, and it wants basically every heart-type item from this mod, in all the colours.[5][8]
On top of that come hearts from other mods, such as the Bone Heart, the Obsidian Heart, the Heart Container, the Dragon Heart and the Chaos Heart. It also needs the pack's own KubeJS hearts, like the Warden Heart and the Wither Heart. The Pile of Neutrons and Neutronium Nugget are in there too.[5][8]

Soul Heart Canister upgrade
The pack changed how you get the Soul Heart Canister. It is now a smithing transform that starts from a Blue Heart Canister, and it pulls in an item from Allthemodium and one from vanilla Minecraft.[5]
In the quest book
The pack's quest "Heart Canister" quest sits in the chapter "Useful mods and Items", chapter 3 of 44 in the book. It asks you to hand in the Miniature Red Heart, the Red Heart Canister and the Heart Amulet. The mod's own description says the Heart Amulet holds all Heart Canisters in one slot.[1][3]
Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Baubley Heart Canisters?
1 part
In this pack, the quest book asks for the mod's items in a single quest. It sits in the "Useful mods and Items" chapter, which is mostly made up of quests for other mods.[3]
Heart Canister
The quest "Heart Canister" quest is an item quest. It asks you to get each of these items:[3]
The book gives this quest no description text, so it only shows you the items it asks for.[3]
Which Baubley Heart Canisters config options matter?
3 parts
Most of what you'll want to tweak for heart canisters lives in config/bhc-common.toml and config/bhc/drops.json. Here is exactly how this pack sets them.[4][7]
General settings
- General.heartStackSize is 10. It is the maximum stack size for heart canisters and also the maximum number of full hearts you can get per heart container type.[7]
- General.boneDropRate is 0.15. This is how often wither bones drop, where 1.0 is 100% and 0.0 is 0%.[7]
- General.echoShardDropRate is 0.5. This is how often echo shards drop from the Warden, on the same 1.0 = 100% scale.[7]
- General.soulHeartReturnChance is 1. It is the chance for the Soul Heart to return a Blue Heart Canister after being broken.[7]
Heart patches
Each heart patch has a cooldown in seconds and a heal amount. The config notes that the red patch's heal amount is in half-hearts, so its value of 2 is 1 full heart. Here is how the pack sets each patch:[7]
- Red: [[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.redPatchCooldown]] is 5 and [[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.redPatchHealAmount]] is 2.[7]
- Yellow: [[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.yellowPatchCooldown]] is 10 and [[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.yellowPatchHealAmount]] is 6.[7]
- Green: [[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.greenPatchCooldown]] is 20 and [[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.greenPatchHealAmount]] is 10.[7]
- Blue: [[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.bluePatchCooldown]] is 30 and [[config:config/bhc-common.toml#Heart Patches.bluePatchHealAmount]] is 20.[7]
Heart drops
The mod's heart drops are configurable. Red hearts come from hostile mobs, yellow from boss mobs, green from the Ender Dragon and blue from Wardens. In config/bhc/drops.json, this pack sets the red hostile entry (heartEntries.red.hostile) to 0.05. The yellow boss entry (heartEntries.yellow.boss), the green dragon entry (heartEntries.green.dragon) and the blue Warden entry (heartEntries.blue.minecraft:warden) are all set to 1.[1][4]
What changed in Baubley Heart Canisters between versions?
1 part
There isn't much history to cover here. The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so the only release notes come from the mod's own changelog.[2]
Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships Baubley Heart Canisters 1.20.1-1.2.0. The pack file shows the mod was first included in version 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]
1.20.1-1.2.0
- Heal amounts and cooldowns for heart patches are now configurable. This is the one change listed in the mod's changelog for this release.[10]
The changelog doesn't give the default heal amounts or cooldowns, and nothing in the sources says the pack changed them. Treat the exact values as unverified until you check them in game.[2][10]
