What is AttributeFix?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
AttributeFix is a behind-the-scenes fix mod. Minecraft uses an attribute system for important calculations such as armor values, attack damage and the maximum health of a mob, and that system also puts caps on how high any of those values can go.[1]
You usually won't notice those caps, but plenty of mods run into them without realizing it. AttributeFix raises the caps significantly so those mods can work the way their authors intended. That's why its tagline is that it fixes many mods![1]
Attributes it uncaps
- Max Health[1]
- Follow Range[1]
- Knockback Resistance[1]
- Movement Speed[1]
- Attack Damage[1]
- Attack Speed[1]
- Armor[1]
- Armor Toughness[1]
- Luck[1]
Who it's for
This one is really for everyone playing the pack, because it helps other mods behave correctly. If you're stacking armor, boosting your health or building a big damage setup with gear from other mods, AttributeFix is what keeps those high values from being quietly cut off by vanilla's limits.[1]
This pack ships AttributeFix version 21.1.2 for NeoForge 1.21.1, and it has been part of the pack since its early releases.[2]
Unverified The sources don't show whether AttributeFix adds any items, recipes or quests, and they don't give the exact cap values the pack uses, so those details aren't covered here.
How do you get started with AttributeFix?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Good news: there's nothing you need to craft to get started with AttributeFix. It's a fixer mod that works in the background. It doesn't add a first item to build or a progression step to follow.[1]
Minecraft handles important calculations through an attribute system, covering everything from armor values to attack damage to a mob's maximum health. That system also has caps that limit how high any value can go. Many mods are unknowingly affected by those caps, and AttributeFix significantly raises them so those mods can work as they were intended.[1]
Attributes it affects
- Max Health[1]
- Follow Range[1]
- Knockback Resistance[1]
- Movement Speed[1]
- Attack Damage[1]
- Attack Speed[1]
- Armor[1]
- Armor Toughness[1]
- Luck[1]
In practice, this means gear, effects and mobs from other mods in the pack that push these stats high aren't held back by the vanilla limits.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm any in-pack recipes, quests, items or config values for AttributeFix, so there are no recipe blocks or setup steps in this section. The exact new cap values used in this pack are also unverified.
How does AttributeFix work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.11 guide
If you came here looking for machines, multiblocks or pipes, AttributeFix doesn't have any. It's a behind-the-scenes fix mod with no items or blocks for you to build. What it does is quietly remove limits in one of Minecraft's core systems so that lots of other mods can work properly.[1]
The attribute system
Minecraft uses an attribute system to handle important calculations. It covers everything from armor values, to attack damage, to the maximum health of a mob. Whenever gear, effects or mods change a stat like that, it goes through this system.[1]
The problem: attribute caps
The attribute system also comes with caps that limit how high any value can go. You usually won't notice them, but many mods are affected by them without knowing it. For example, a mod might try to push a stat past the cap and end up weaker than its designer intended.[1]
What AttributeFix changes
AttributeFix raises these caps a lot, so the mods that change attributes behave the way their authors meant them to. You don't need to do anything to use it. It just works in the background.[1]
These are the attributes the mod's project page lists as affected:[1]
- Max Health[1]
- Follow Range[1]
- Knockback Resistance[1]
- Movement Speed[1]
- Attack Damage[1]
- Attack Speed[1]
- Armor[1]
- Armor Toughness[1]
- Luck[1]
Unverified The exact new cap values and whether they can be adjusted in this pack could not be confirmed. No config files for this mod are included in the pack, and the available source does not list specific numbers.
Which AttributeFix config options matter?
3 parts
AttributeFix removes the arbitrary caps Minecraft puts on attributes like health, armor and attack damage, so mods that push those values past vanilla limits work as intended. In this pack everything lives in attributes.minecraft:generic.max_health.max.value and its sibling entries in the same file. The part you will feel in play is the set of caps the pack raised.[1][3]
Caps the pack raised
Each attribute in the file has a default entry and a value entry. For the attributes below, the pack's value is far above the default, and the file lists the same figure of 1,000,000 for each one.[3]
- Max health: the maximum is 1,000,000 (attributes.minecraft:generic.max_health.max.value), against a default of 1,024 (attributes.minecraft:generic.max_health.max.default). The minimum stays at 1 (attributes.minecraft:generic.max_health.min.value).[3]
- Armor: the maximum is 1,000,000 (attributes.minecraft:generic.armor.max.value), against a default of 30 (attributes.minecraft:generic.armor.max.default).[3]
- Armor toughness: the maximum is 1,000,000 (attributes.minecraft:generic.armor_toughness.max.value), against a default of 20 (attributes.minecraft:generic.armor_toughness.max.default).[3]
- Attack damage: the maximum is 1,000,000 (attributes.minecraft:generic.attack_damage.max.value), against a default of 2,048 (attributes.minecraft:generic.attack_damage.max.default).[3]
- Attack knockback: the maximum is 1,000,000 (attributes.minecraft:generic.attack_knockback.max.value), against a default of 5 (attributes.minecraft:generic.attack_knockback.max.default).[3]
Vanilla attributes left at the default
The other Minecraft attributes in the file are enabled, and the pack keeps their limits at the default values. Attack speed, flying speed and movement speed all top out at 1,024, follow range at 2,048, and luck runs from -1,024 to 1,024. Knockback resistance caps at 1, horse jump strength at 2, and zombie reinforcements at 1.[3]
Modded attributes the pack has switched off
Every attribute from other mods in the file has its enabled setting at false in this pack. That covers entries for attributeslib (for example attributes.attributeslib:crit_chance.enabled), Botania, Cataclysm, Forge, FTB Ultimine and Just Dire Things. For all of them the value entries match the defaults, so the pack changes nothing about their limits.[3]

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as attributefix, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
