What is Create: Enchantment Industry?

2 parts

Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide

Create: Enchantment Industry adds more ways to handle experience and enchanting inside Create. If you like automating everything with belts, spouts and deployers, this mod lets you automate your enchanting and XP too. The pack includes version 2.5.3b.[1][2]

What it adds

  • Liquid Experience: high-density experience that is easy to store and transport.[1]
  • Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger: a blaze acts as a smart enchanting table and a smart anvil.[1]
  • Mechanical Grindstone: a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function.[1]
  • Printer: copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more.[1]
  • Mending on belt: items with Mending can be repaired using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]
  • Deployer and Crushing Wheel tweak: their kills drop experience nuggets. Deployers also benefit from a sword with Sweeping Edge.[1]
  • Hyper-enchantmechanism: lets you break the limits of enchantments.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

In the pack's quest book, the mod shows up in the World Engine tier 5 chapter. Quest a quest in "?" asks for the Enchanter and the Printer. So the Printer is the item from this mod that the quest book asks for.[3]

That quest comes after another quest in the quest book, so it is not the first step of its path.[3]

How do you get started with Create: Enchantment Industry?

5 parts

Create: Enchantment Industry gives Create more ways to handle experience and enchanting. Its Liquid Experience is high-density experience that is easy to store and transport. Here is a sensible order to unlock things in this pack.[1]

Step one: Mechanical Grindstone, your first experience source

The Mechanical Grindstone is a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function. An enchanted item put through it gets disenchanted, and the machine gives you Liquid Experience. That makes it an easy way to start filling tanks. In this pack it uses the mod's default recipe.[1][4][5]

Step two: Experience Hatch, store your own experience

The Experience Hatch lets you interact with a fluid tank directly, using your own experience. You can store it and take it back out later. This recipe is added by the pack, so it is not in the base mod.[1][4][5]

Step three: Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger

The Blaze Enchanter works like an enchanting table. Give it Liquid Experience to activate it, then set the enchant level on its panel. A vanilla enchanting table caps at level 30. A higher level is not always better, because some enchantments stop appearing when the level is too high. Both blaze machines use the mod's default smithing recipes in this pack.[4][5]

The Blaze Forger is the matching smart anvil. It can merge two of the same item and strip an enchantment off an item, among other things.[1][5]

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_forger

Step four: Printer

The Printer copies written books and enchanted books, and it can also rename items. It can even change a package's pattern or address. In the quest book, the world engine tier 5 chapter has a quest, a quest in "?", whose tasks are an Enchanter and the Printer.[1][5][6]

Later: the Apotheosis machines

Once your experience supply is running, the mod's Apotheosis machines are the next step. The Gem Cutter processes gems to their highest quality. The Infuser is an automated infusion setup. The Affix Augmentor upgrades equipment affixes automatically.[1]

Watch out: The pack changed the crafting recipes for the Gem Cutter, Infuser and Affix Augmentor. Don't rely on mod defaults you may remember from other packs, and always check the recipes shown below.[4]

The Affix Augmentor has some placement rules. It must sit on a horizontal belt or depot, and it needs a tank of Apotheotic Essence 2 blocks beneath it. In this pack you get Apotheotic Essence through mixing recipes that dissolve Apotheosis materials. Each material tier has its own recipe, for example the Godforged Pearl.[4][5]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work?

10 parts

Create: Enchantment Industry gives you Create-style machines for handling experience and enchanting. Everything revolves around Liquid Experience, a dense experience fluid that is easy to store and move through pipes and tanks. Below is how the main systems work in this pack, including the config values the pack sets.[1]

Blaze Enchanter

The Blaze Enchanter works like an enchanting table. You give it Liquid Experience to activate it, then set the enchant level on its panel before you enchant anything. The vanilla table's level cap is 30, and this pack keeps the Blaze Enchanter's regular cap at the mod default of 30 (kinetics.enchantments.blazeEnchanterMaxEnchantLevel). Its internal fluid capacity is 4,000 mB, also the mod default (kinetics.fluids.blazeEnchanterFluidCapacity).[5][7]

The panel doubles as a filter slot. Right-click it with an item to make that item the template, which puts the machine in Template Enchanting Mode. It then only produces enchantments the template item supports. For example, diamond chest armor in the slot means only diamond-chest-armor enchantments. If you hand it a blank Enchanting Template, those enchantments are written onto the template. Material and item type change which enchantments you get, and a higher level isn't always better, because some enchantments stop appearing when the level is too high.[5]

Super Enchanting

Both the Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger have two "stomachs". Feed one a Cake o' Enchanting and it starts seething, which puts it in Super Enchanting mode. The second tank can't be filled by pipe, so you need an eligible Super Experience item such as the cake.[5]

Watch out: Super Enchanting can cause lightning strikes, so place a Lightning Rod nearby. You can cover the Blaze Enchanter with a block to avoid the strikes, but then a curse may appear.[5]

Blaze Forger

The Blaze Forger works like an anvil and also needs Liquid Experience. It merges enchantments on the same item with no Repair Cost, and it can merge Enchanting Templates. It can also apply an Enchanting Template to an item, or strip the enchantments from equipment, a book or a template onto a blank Enchanting Template. Its fluid capacity is 4,000 mB, the mod default (kinetics.fluids.blazeForgerFluidCapacity).[5][7]

Automating the blazes

Both blazes can be automated with a Mechanical Arm. The arm can insert items, feed experience fuel, and take out the finished item. On the Blaze Enchanter it can also remove invalid items.[5]

Templates and Super Experience

Templates come from a Create press. Pressing a Block of Experience gives an Enchanting Template, and pressing a Block of Super Experience gives a Super Enchanting Template.[4]

Mechanical Grindstone

The Mechanical Grindstone is a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function. It disenchants items and gives you Liquid Experience. This pack raises its fluid capacity to 5,000 mB, up from the mod default of 1,000 (kinetics.fluids.mechanicalGrindstoneFluidCapacity).[1][5][7]

Printer

The Printer copies items using fluid. It can copy written books, enchanted books, name tags and train schedules, among other things. It can also rename items and change package patterns and addresses. This pack raises its tank to 50,000 mB, up from the mod default of 4,000 (kinetics.fluids.printerFluidCapacity).[1][5][7]

Every printing function is enabled in this pack: banner patterns, Create copiable items, custom names, enchanted books, written books, package addresses and package patterns. The enchanted book cost multiplier is 1 (kinetics.fluids.printingEnchantedBookCostMultiplier). The generation change for copying written books is -3 (kinetics.fluids.printingGenerationChange). The Printer's denylist stops denied enchanted books from being copied (kinetics.fluids.printingEnchantedBookDenylistStopCopying).[7]

Experience Lantern and Experience Hatch

The Experience Lantern absorbs experience and also works on contraptions. The Experience Hatch lets you store your own experience in a fluid tank and take it back out.[1][5]

These are the lantern's settings in this pack. All of them match the mod defaults.[7]

Liquid Experience vaporizes into Experience Orbs when placed in the world in this pack (kinetics.fluids.experienceVaporizeOnPlacement).[7]

Deployers, Crushing Wheels and Mending

Kills by a Deployer or Crushing Wheel can drop experience, which the Deployer collects as Nuggets of Experience. In this pack Deployers collect experience, and Deployer-killed entities and Deployer-mined blocks drop it at a scale of 1. Mending applies to Deployer-held items, and Deployers can sweep attack.[1][7]

Crushing Wheel kills drop experience too. The chance and the scale are set by kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXpChance and kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXpScale, and both are at the mod defaults in this pack.[7]

Items with Mending on a belt can be repaired using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]

Apotheosis integration

The mod also adds machines for Apotheosis: Bulk Salvaging, the Infuser, the Gem Cutter and the Affix Augmentor.[1]

The Affix Augmentor upgrades the affixes of equipment automatically, like the Augmenting Table in Apotheosis. It must sit on a horizontal Belt or Depot. It needs a tank of Apotheotic Essence, and that Fluid Tank must be 2 blocks beneath it.[5]

Apotheosis materials dissolve into fluids in a mixer. Mysterious Scrap Metal, Timeworn Fabric, Luminous Crystal Shard, Arcane Sands and Godforged Pearl each become Apotheotic Essence. Gem Dust becomes Crystal Essence. The pack changed all of these recipes.[4]

How do you progress through Create: Enchantment Industry?

6 parts

Create: Enchantment Industry has just one quest tied to it in this pack, so most of the progression here comes from the recipes. I've grouped the recipes into rough stages myself. The pack doesn't label them as tiers.[4][6]

The quest gate

The mod shows up in the World Engine group, in its tier 5 chapter, through the quest a quest in "?". Its tasks are Ender IO's Enchanter and the Printer. It comes after the quest a quest in "?".[6]

Early machines and experience storage

The Mechanical Grindstone and the Experience Lantern both keep the mod's default recipes. A press turns a Block of Experience into an Enchanting Template, also with the mod's default recipe.[4]

The pack adds its own recipe for the Experience Hatch, using Create's item application. The mod doesn't have this recipe by default.[4]

The pack also reworked the cake line. A compacting recipe makes the Cake Base o' Enchanting. A filling recipe turns that base into a Cake o' Enchanting. Then you cut the cake into Cake Slice o' Enchanting items, either with Create's cutting or with a Farmer's Delight knife. The pack changed all of these except the Create cutting recipe.[4]

Apotheosis materials

The pack links this mod to Apotheosis. Mixing recipes dissolve the Apotheosis materials, from common up to mythic, into Apotheotic Essence. Mixing gem dust gives Crystal Essence. The pack changed every one of those recipes.[4]

Infused Dragon's Breath also has pack-changed recipes. One infuses Dragon's Breath from Create Dragons Plus. Another empties Apothic Enchanting's infused breath into a glass bottle.[4]

Late-game machines

The Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger are smithing table recipes, and the pack leaves them as the mod made them.[4]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work with other mods?

5 parts

This mod is built to plug into other mods. It needs Create and Create: Dragons Plus to run, and in this pack many of its recipes also pull in Apotheosis, Apothic Enchanting and Cognition. Here is where those links show up.[1][4]

Tip: Many of the recipes below are marked as changed by the pack. If you've seen a different recipe in another pack or on the mod's own page, trust the recipe blocks here instead.[4]

Apotheosis and Apothic Enchanting

The mod has a whole group of Apotheosis-series machines: Brass Bookshelf, Infuser, Gem Cutter and Affix Augmentor. The Gem Cutter processes gems to their highest quality, and the Affix Augmentor automates affix enhancement. In this pack, both the Gem Cutter and the Affix Augmentor have pack-changed recipes that use Apotheosis materials.[1][4]

Gem Dust becomes Crystal Essence.[4]

The Brass Bookshelf is a bookshelf with freely configurable stats. Here it is made with Create's sequenced assembly, and the pack changed that recipe so it uses Apothic Enchanting's Pearlescent Endshelf.[1][4]

Quests

Quest a quest in "?" in the tier 5 World Engine chapter of the quest book asks for the Ender IO Enchanter and this mod's Printer as item tasks.[6]

Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use Create: Enchantment Industry?

Same as in the FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 guide

In this pack, the quest book has one quest that asks for this mod's items: a quest in "?", in the World Engine Tier 5 chapter. The quest has no title in the quest file.[3]

The quest has item tasks. You hand in an Enchanter and a Printer. That pairs an Ender IO machine with this mod's Printer in the same quest.[3]

For order, the quest comes after a quest in "?", so finish that one first.[3]

Which Create: Enchantment Industry config options matter?

5 parts

Good news: this pack leaves almost everything in Create: Enchantment Industry at the mod default. Only a few values were changed, and they mostly make your fluid storage much roomier. Here's what to know.[7][8][9]

What the pack changed

Tip: Both capacity options are marked as needing a reload on the server, so if you tweak them yourself, expect to restart or reload before you see a change.[7]

Enchanting limits

The Blaze Enchanter limits are at the mod defaults. kinetics.enchantments.blazeEnchanterMaxEnchantLevel is 30 for regular enchanting, and kinetics.enchantments.blazeEnchanterMaxSuperEnchantLevel is 60 for super enchanting. kinetics.enchantments.enchantmentMaxLevelExtension is 1, which extends the max enchantment level in Super Enchanting by 1.[7]

kinetics.enchantments.ignoreEnchantmentCompatibility is true, so Super Enchanting and Super Forging ignore enchantment compatibility. kinetics.enchantments.splitEnchantmentRespectLevelExtension is false, so enchantment splitting does not respect over-capped levels.[7]

Experience from Deployers and Crushing Wheels

Experience drops from Crushing Wheel kills are on via kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXp, and the chance and scale options are at their mod defaults. Deployers also collect experience (kinetics.deployerCollectXp), mend held items (kinetics.deployerMendItem) and can make sweep attacks (kinetics.deployerSweepAttack). All of these are true. The Deployer kill and mining XP scales (kinetics.deployerKillXpScale and kinetics.deployerMineXpScale) are both 1, the mod default.[7]

Printers and Experience Lanterns

Every Printer function is enabled, including enchanted book, written book, banner pattern, custom name, package address and package pattern printing. The enchanted book cost multiplier (kinetics.fluids.printingEnchantedBookCostMultiplier) is 1, the mod default. kinetics.fluids.printingEnchantedBookDenylistStopCopying is true, so the Printer denylist stops denied Enchanted Books from being copied.[7]

Experience Lanterns use the mod defaults. They hold 1,000 mB (kinetics.fluids.experienceLanternFluidCapacity), pull in orbs from a radius of 10 (kinetics.fluids.experienceLanternPullRadius), and have pulling turned on (kinetics.fluids.experienceLanternPullToggle). Liquid Experience still vaporizes into Experience Orbs when placed (kinetics.fluids.experienceVaporizeOnPlacement).[7]

Other values

What changed in Create: Enchantment Industry between versions?

5 parts

FTB StoneBlock 4 1.16.0 ships Create: Enchantment Industry 2.4.2, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[10]

Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, so which pack releases moved the mod between these versions is unverified.

2.4.2 (the version in this pack)

  • Added Copper Age Backport compat.[11]
  • The TML compat config is now independent.[11]
  • Fixed inappropriate class loading.[11]

2.4.1

  • Added an Infused Dragon's Breath impact effect for Fragile Fluid Tanks. With Apotheosis integration active, the impact performs a Bulk Salvaging burst on nearby dropped items and may salvage equipped items.[12]
  • Added Apotheosis server config options for the Infused Dragon's Breath Fragile Fluid Tank salvaging behavior.[12]
  • Bulk Salvaging now picks equipped items from salvageable equipment instead of effectively checking a fixed slot.[12]
  • Fixed a dedicated server startup crash caused by the Ender Woven Bag's clientbound packet handler being stripped from the server runtime.[12]

2.3.1

This was an update for Create 6.0.10. It added support for copying schematics and fixed an item duplication bug with Sable. The changelog also notes that if you can't install the mechanical grindstone while Sable is installed, you should wait for a new Sable release that contains a fix.[13]

2.3.0

This was an update for Create 6.0.9. It added compat for Touhou Little Maid and fixed a batch of bugs:[14]

  • A glitchy animation.[14]
  • Unlocalized text for the attribute filter.[14]
  • EXP not being required during forging in certain situations.[14]
  • A crash when rotating the Blaze Enchanter.[14]
  • Breaking Printers destroying any EXP inside.[14]
  • The Sweeping Edge enchantment on a deployer doing extremely low damage to non-main targets.[14]

Earlier fixes

  • 2.2.5b: fixed a crashing EXP item giving no EXP liquid.[15]
  • 2.2.3: added a compacting recipe for infested stone and a crushing recipe for infested cobblestone, and fixed the spout using too much EXP when mending. This version required Create: Dragon Plus 1.8.1.[16]
