What is XyCraft World?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.13.3 guide
XyCraft World is part of the pack's mod list. This pack ships version 0.7.53 (the file xycraft_world-0.7.53.jar), and the mod has been in the pack since version 1.0.1 or earlier.[1]
I can't confirm from the available sources what the mod adds in this pack, so I'm not describing its features here. Nothing I have shows where the quest book places it, so I'm leaving out its chapter, group and neighbouring quests rather than guessing. I also have no pack-specific recipes or config values for it.[1]
How do you get started with XyCraft World?
6 parts
XyCraft World adds aluminum building blocks, torches, lamps, glass viewers and the five Xychorium gems. This guide takes them in the order that makes sense for a fresh start: aluminum first, then light, then building blocks, then Kivi and gems.[2][3]
Get aluminum
Raw aluminum turns into an Aluminum Ingot in a furnace or a blast furnace. The pack also has an Actually Additions Mining Lens recipe that produces Aluminum Ore.[2]
Keep an eye on the ingredient names in the recipes below. The recipes the pack changed list their aluminum ingot under the ftbmaterials namespace.[2]
Make some light
The pack changed both torch recipes, so use these instead of the mod defaults: the Copper Torch and the Aluminum Torch.[2]

Aluminum bricks and tiles
Aluminum Bricks are the base of the aluminum building set, and the pack changed their recipe. Aluminum Tiles are crafted from the bricks.[2]

To switch between block variants, use a stonecutter. The mod has 76 stonecutting recipes for its own blocks, and the bricks have one of them.[2]

Kivi and Xychorium gems
Kivi is the starting point for the gems. Two routes to it are in the pack. The XyCraft extractor machine turns water into Kivi, and a dripper recipe added by the pack makes Kivi from 1,000 of lava.[2]
The XyCraft crusher takes Kivi and gives you the gems: Blue Xychorium Gem, Dark Xychorium Gem, Green Xychorium Gem, Light Xychorium Gem and Red Xychorium Gem.[2]
Crusher (xycraft_machines)
- any kivi
Recipe id: xycraft:crusher/xychorium
If you only need blue gems, there are other routes too:[2]
- Smelting or blasting neovitae:xychorium_blue_dust, both recipes added by the pack.[2]
- An AE2 transform recipe added by the pack, which makes 4 blue gems.[2]
- A Mekanism enriching recipe that turns Xychorium ore into 10 blue gems.[2]
- A Create sifting recipe added by the pack, which gives all five gems from crushed Kivi and a blazing mesh.[2]
Coloured bricks and lamps
With gems in hand you can make the coloured aluminum bricks. The pack changed the blue and dark versions.[2]

World generation settings
This pack has both geyser toggles set to true: harvestable_node_set.surface_geyser and harvestable_node_set.underground_geyser. Placement for the same structure set uses a spacing of 15 in harvestable_node_set.spacing and a separation of 7 in harvestable_node_set.separation.[4][5]
How does XyCraft World work?
6 parts
XyCraft World is mostly a world-generation and building-block mod, and the sources for this pack don't show it running a power network, a fluid network or its own multiblocks. What they do show is how its materials are made and moved around. That's what this section covers.[2][3]
Kivi and the Extractor
Kivi is made with a machine recipe of the extractor type. In the recipe dump, the standard Kivi recipe takes water as its input and gives Kivi back. A second Extractor recipe, which lists a water block catalyst, has no item inputs at all.[2]
If Extended AE is installed, the pack's startup script also registers an infinity cell for Kivi, alongside cells for dirt, sand, netherrack and a few other blocks. That means you can pull Kivi straight out of your ME storage once you have the cell, instead of running the Extractor for it.[6]
Unverified How the Extractor is powered, how fast it works, and which sides accept or output fluids and items are not confirmed by the sources available for this pack.
Ore geysers
The mod adds an Ore Geyser block. In this pack's world generation, both the harvestable_node_set.surface_geyser and harvestable_node_set.underground_geyser toggles are set to true, so surface and underground geysers can both generate.[3][4]
Placement is set in the structure placement config. This pack uses a harvestable_node_set.spacing of 15 and a harvestable_node_set.separation of 7. The harvestable_node_set.salt is 918273645.[5]
Getting xychorium gems
There are several routes to Blue Xychorium Gem, and some of them come from other mods. With AE2 you use a transform recipe added by the pack, and it gives 4 gems per craft.[2]
Transform (ae2)
Quartz Dust

If you run Mekanism, an enriching recipe turns blue xychorium ore into 10 gems.[2]
Enriching (mekanism)
- any xychorium ore
- any blue color
Recipe id: xycraft_machines:compat/mek/processing/xychorium/blue_ore
The pack also adds smelting and blasting recipes that turn Neovitae's blue xychorium dust into a gem, so a furnace or a blast furnace works too.[2]

Aluminum
The Actually Additions mining lens has a recipe that produces Aluminum Ore from blocks in its stone ore replaceables list. The mod also has deepslate and Kivi variants of the ore.[2][3]

Building blocks and stonecutting
Most of the mod's decorative blocks are shaped through the stonecutter. The recipe dump counts 76 stonecutting recipes that make XyCraft World blocks. Aluminum variants are one example: you can stonecut them into Aluminum Bricks.[2]

Glass viewers work the same way. The stonecutter turns one glass viewer into another when you supply cheap glass.[2]

The RGB lamp swaps between its normal and inverted forms through a shapeless recipe. The recipe on record turns the Inverted RGB Lamp into the RGB Lamp.[2]
Recipes the pack changed
The pack changes several XyCraft World recipes, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. These are the changed ones in the sources: Blue Aluminum Bricks, Copper Torch, Aluminum Torch and Immortal Glass Viewer.[2]

How do you progress through XyCraft World?
3 parts
This mod has no clear tier ladder of its own, so the path here follows the recipes the pack gives you. It runs from aluminum, to Kivi and the five xychorium gems, to the fancy decorative blocks that use both.[2]
Tier 1: Aluminum
Aluminum is your entry point. You can get Aluminum Ore from an Actually Additions mining lens, which turns stone-type ore replaceables into the ore. Raw aluminum becomes an Aluminum Ingot in either a furnace or a blast furnace.[2]
Going the other way, Aluminum Nugget packs into an ingot, and ingots pack into Aluminum Storage.[2]
The pack rewrites several early aluminum recipes. Aluminum Bricks now come out four at a time:[2]
Crafting Shaped
4 × Aluminum Ingot
Recipe id: xycraft:shaped/aluminum_bricks
Aluminum Tiles are then made from the bricks, four tiles per craft.[2]
Torches are changed by the pack too. The Aluminum Torch gives 2 per craft from an ingot, or 4 per craft from raw aluminum. The Copper Torch works the same way, 2 from an ingot and 4 from raw copper.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any wooden rod |
Recipe id: xycraft:shaped/aluminum_torch
Tier 2: Kivi and xychorium gems
Kivi is the raw material for all five gems: Blue Xychorium Gem, Dark Xychorium Gem, Green Xychorium Gem, Light Xychorium Gem and Red Xychorium Gem. There are several ways to get Kivi:[2]
- The XyCraft extractor makes it from water.[2]
- The pack adds a dripper recipe that makes it from 1,000 lava.[2]
- The pack's Modern Industrialization quarry recipe, using a Sentient Pickaxe, can output it alongside all five xychorium ores.[2]
- If Extended AE is installed, the pack also registers an infinity cell for Kivi.[6]
Once you have Kivi, the XyCraft crusher turns it into all five gems. The pack adds more routes. Sifting Crushed Kivi with a Blazing Mesh or a Diamond Mesh also gives all five gems. An AE2 transform recipe makes 4 blue or 4 dark gems per craft. Blue and dark gems can also come from Neovitae dust, by smelting or blasting.[2]
If you prefer ore, a mining lens can produce Blue Xychorium Ore, and Mekanism enriching turns xychorium ore into 10 blue or 10 dark gems per craft.[2]
Blue and dark gems pack into Blue Xychorium Gem Storage and Dark Xychorium Gem Storage.[2]
Tier 3: Gem-tinted and glass blocks
Here aluminum and gems combine. Blue Aluminum Bricks and Dark Aluminum Bricks both use an aluminum ingot plus a xychorium gem of the matching colour. The pack changed them, and each craft makes 2.[2]

The pack also changed the Immortal Glass Viewer, which is now built from a Reinforced Glass Viewer and aluminum.[2]

The RGB Lamp is a pack-changed recipe as well, and a shapeless craft flips it into the Inverted RGB Lamp.[2]

The rest of the decorative tier mostly uses vanilla extras. Chorus fruit multiplies Phantom Glass Viewer into 8 per craft. A glow ink sac makes the RGB Viewer glow, and also makes the Matte Aurey Block glow. Stonecutting is the main way to switch between block variants, with 76 of the mod's stonecutting recipes making this mod's items.[2]
How does XyCraft World work with other mods?
3 parts
XyCraft World connects to the rest of the pack mostly through recipes the pack added or rewrote. The big themes are aluminum from the pack's materials, several new ways to get Xychorium gems, and a few Xychorium and Kivi items that show up in other mods' machines.[2]
Aluminum comes from the pack's materials
The pack changed many XyCraft World crafting recipes so they use Aluminum Ingot. That covers the basics like Aluminum Bricks (4 per craft), plus the coloured cloud bricks, the immortal aluminum and immortal stone blocks, and Matte Aurey Block.[2]
Light sources follow the same pattern. Aluminum Torch gives 2 torches per craft from an ingot, or 4 if you use Raw Aluminum instead.[2]

Ways to get Xychorium gems
The pack adds several routes to the coloured gems, and each one goes through a different mod.[2]
- Smelting or blasting: Xychorium dusts from Neovitae cook into the matching gem. Plain Xychorium Dust gives a blue gem.[2]
- AE2 transform: quartz dust, a dye and molten kivi together make 4 gems of the colour that matches the dye.[2]
- Create sifting: crush Kivi into Crushed Kivi, then sift it with a Mechanical Blazing Mesh or a Mechanical Diamond Mesh. Both meshes can give blue, dark, green, light and red gems.[2]
- Modern Industrialization quarry: a recipe that takes a Sentient Pickaxe can produce Kivi and every colour of Xychorium ore, alongside Malum ores such as Soulstone Ore.[2]

The other colours use the same pattern with a different dye.
Sifting (createsifter)
Recipe id: ftb:create/sifting/ftbstuff/kivi_with_diamond_mesh
Sifting crushed Kivi with a diamond mesh can give every gem colour.
Gems and Kivi used elsewhere
Blue and green gems are also an input for a pack-added Actually Additions empowering recipe, which turns Enriched Yellowcake and 2 of each gem into a Polonium Pellet.[2]
Empowering (actuallyadditions)
Recipe id: ftb:actuallyadditions/empowering/polonium_pellet
This pack-added recipe is how XyCraft gems end up in a Mekanism item.
The gems also go into the coloured cloud bricks, and the RGB lantern lamp recipe asks for Kivi as well as a gem.[2]
If ExtendedAE is installed, the pack's startup script registers an infinity storage cell for Kivi, next to cells for dirt, sand and other bulk blocks.[6]
Which XyCraft World config options matter?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.13.3 guide
The sources for this pack only cover two XyCraft World config files, and both are about the harvestable node set, which includes the geysers. Here is exactly how the pack sets them.[7][8]
Geyser toggles
Both geyser toggles are switched on in the structure toggle config. harvestable_node_set.surface_geyser is true and harvestable_node_set.underground_geyser is true, so both the surface and underground geysers are enabled.[7]
Placement values
- harvestable_node_set.spacing is set to 15.[8]
- harvestable_node_set.separation is set to 7.[8]
- harvestable_node_set.salt is set to 918,273,645.[8]
Unverified The sources do not list the mod's default values for any of these options, so it is unverified whether the pack changed any of them.
