What is Chipped?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Chipped is a building mod that gives you a huge range of decorative block variants. The project page advertises over 11,000 unique building blocks, from stained glass variations to concrete, prismarine and gilded blackstone. The textures are hand-made in the vanilla style, and many of them are connected textures powered by Athena.[1]
If you've ever used Chisel, you'll get the idea straight away. Chipped is inspired by it and is built for anyone who wants more variety in their builds, whether that's a castle, a nether fortress or a plain dirt house.[1]
How you use it
You start by crafting one of the seven tables, which turn various vanilla blocks into their chipped variants. The tables all look different but work the same way, so pick whichever suits your build, or make a few different ones and spread them around your base.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Chipped 4.0.2, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]
Unverified The sources I have don't show where Chipped fits in the pack's progression, and they don't show any recipe changes. Check the recipes in-game before you plan around them. This site does hold FTB Skies 2: Aero's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Chipped?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 guide
Chipped is a building mod that adds a huge range of decorative variants of blocks. The project page counts over 11,000 unique building blocks, many with connected textures. To start out, you craft a table.[1]
Step 1: craft a table
The project page says there are seven tables. Each one looks different but they all work the same, so pick the look you like, or make a few and spread them around your base. In this pack the seven are the Alchemy Bench, Botanist Workbench, Carpenters Table, Glassblower, Loom Table, Mason Table and Tinkering Table.[1][3]
I'd start with the Mason Table, because the Chisel is crafted from it. Here is the in-pack recipe:[3]

Next: make the matching tool
Most tables have a companion item in this pack, crafted from that table. The Chisel goes with the Mason Table, so it's the first one to make.[3]
Next is the Carpenters Table and the Saw made from it:[3]
Crafting Shaped

| any plank | any plank | |

The other tables work the same way. The Loom Table has Needles, the Tinkering Table has the Multimeter, the Botanist Workbench has the Watering Can, and the Alchemy Bench has the Alchemy Book. Their recipes are:[3]
Crafting Shaped

Extra: stonecutting and Create cutting
The pack's recipe dump has 6,930 stonecutting recipes that take Chipped blocks and make Chipped blocks. One example turns any acacia planks into an Acacia Planks Mosaic.[3]
The pack also adds Create cutting recipes for Chipped blocks. They turn reinforced logs into their stripped versions, and they make nailed planks in batches of 6. Here is one example:[3]
Cutting (create)
- any compat chipped nailed oak runtime generated
Recipe id: create:cutting/runtime_generated/compat/create/tag_runtime_generated/compat/chipped/nailed_oak_to_nailed_oak_planks
Added by the pack, makes 6 Nailed Oak Planks per cut.
