What is Chipped?
2 parts
Chipped is a building mod that expands the variety of blocks you can use. It offers over 11,000 unique building blocks, from stained glass variations to concrete, prismarine and even gilded blackstone. The textures are hand-made in the vanilla style, and many of them are connected textures. This pack includes Chipped 4.0.2 for NeoForge 1.21.1.[1][2]
If you know the Chisel mod, you already get the idea, because Chipped was inspired by it. The pack's quest points out that Chipped does things its own way: instead of a single tool, you go to a station to change blocks.[1][3]
How it works
There are 7 different stations, and each one changes a different group of blocks. All of them look different but work the same way, so you can pick whichever one fits your build best.[1][3]
- Carpenters Table changes wood.[3]
- Glassblower changes glass.[3]
6 of those stations can be turned into a handheld item, so you don't have to walk back to the table every time. The quest also mentions Backpack Upgrades for them.[3]
Who it's for and where it fits
Chipped is for builders: castles, nether fortresses, houses and anything else where you want more block variety than vanilla gives you.[1]
In this pack it has its own quest, "Chipped" quest, in the Building Tips chapter. It comes after the Changing Blocks quest. The quest accepts any one of the Chipped items, including the stations, Chisel, Saw and Needles.[3]
How do you get started with Chipped?
2 parts
Chipped adds a huge range of building block variants. The mod page puts it at over 11,000 unique building blocks. Instead of changing blocks in the world, you go to a station to turn blocks into new designs. In this pack the "Chipped" quest quest explains this. It sits in the Building Tips chapter, right after the Changing Blocks quest, and it says there are 7 different stations that each change different blocks.[1][3]
All the stations look different but work the same way, so you can pick whichever looks best in your build, or make a few and spread them around your base.[1]
What to make first
- Pick the station for the blocks you build with most. The Carpenters Table changes wood and the Glassblower changes glass.[3]
- Check the recipes below before you gather materials. The pack changed both of them from the mod defaults, so other guides may not match.[4]
- Once a station is working for you, make its handheld version so you do not have to walk back to the table.[3]

Handheld versions
6 of the 7 stations can be turned into a handheld item, and there are even backpack upgrades for them. Start with the Saw, which pairs with the Carpenters Table, and the Chisel, which pairs with the Mason Table. The pack changed both of those recipes from the mod defaults, and the recipes are shown below.[3][4]

The other handhelds follow the same pattern, each paired with its own station: the Needles with the Loom Table, the Watering Can with the Botanist Workbench, the Alchemy Book with the Alchemy Bench, and the Multimeter with the Tinkering Table. Their recipes are shown below, and the pack changed the Multimeter recipe from the mod default. The Glassblower is the one station with no handheld in the recipe list.[4]

How does Chipped work?
4 parts
Chipped is a building mod, so there are no machines to wire up here. The sources describe no multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it. What you get is a set of crafting tables that turn vanilla blocks into their chipped variants.[1]
The seven tables
Everything starts with one of seven tables. The project page says they all look different but work the same, so pick whichever fits your build, or place a few different ones around your base. It also says the mod offers over 11,000 unique building blocks, many with connected textures.[1]
- Alchemy Bench[4]
- Botanist Workbench[4]
- Carpenters Table[4]
- Glassblower[4]
- Loom Table[4]
- Mason Table[4]
- Tinkering Table[4]
Crafting the tables
This pack changes the recipes for the Carpenters Table, Glassblower, Mason Table and Tinkering Table. The Alchemy Bench, Botanist Workbench and Loom Table use the mod's own recipes. Don't rely on mod-default recipes from other guides for the changed ones.[4]

Tools and extras
Several tables have a matching item whose recipe is built around that table: Chisel, Saw, Multimeter, Needles, Watering Can and Alchemy Book. The pack changes the Chisel, Saw and Multimeter recipes. The Needles, Watering Can and Alchemy Book keep the mod's own recipes.[4]

How do you progress through Chipped?
4 parts
Chipped has no power tiers in this pack. Progression means building the stations first, then turning some of them into handheld tools. You get there through one quest, "Chipped" quest, which sits in the Building Tips chapter after Changing Blocks.[3]
The Chipped quest
The quest's task lists the Chipped stations and handheld items as alternatives joined by "or". It describes Chipped as working like Chisels mods, except you go to a station to change blocks. There are 7 stations, and each one changes different blocks. The Carpenters Table changes wood and the Glassblower changes glass.[3]
Build the stations
The pack changed the recipes for Carpenters Table, Glassblower, Mason Table and Tinkering Table. Alchemy Bench, Botanist Workbench and Loom Table use the mod's own recipes. The recipe blocks below show each of the 7 stations.[3][4]

Handheld versions
The quest says 6 of the 7 stations can be turned into a handheld item for easier access, and that there are even Backpack Upgrades for them. The recipes list 6 handhelds, each made from its matching station. The Glassblower has no handheld recipe in the pack's recipe list.[3][4]
- Chisel comes from the Mason Table, and the pack changed this recipe.[4]
- Saw comes from the Carpenters Table, and the pack changed this recipe.[4]
- Multimeter comes from the Tinkering Table, and the pack changed this recipe.[4]
- Alchemy Book comes from the Alchemy Bench with the mod's own recipe.[4]
- Needles come from the Loom Table with the mod's own recipe.[4]
- Watering Can comes from the Botanist Workbench with the mod's own recipe.[4]

How does Chipped work with other mods?
2 parts
In this pack, Chipped's connection to other mods runs through the Sophisticated mods. Each of the seven Chipped stations has a matching upgrade for both Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Storage, so you can take a station with you in a backpack or add it to a storage block.[3][4]
The quest "Chipped" quest sits in the Building Tips chapter, right after the Changing Blocks quest. It explains that Chipped uses stations to change blocks, and that there are even backpack upgrades for them.[3]
Which upgrades exist
Every upgrade comes in a backpack version and a storage version. Here is the full set, with the backpack versions linked:[4]
- Chipped: Alchemy Bench Upgrade, made from the Alchemy Bench.[4]
- Chipped: Botanist's Workbench Upgrade, made from the Botanist Workbench.[4]
- Chipped: Carpenters Workbench Upgrade, made from the Carpenters Table.[4]
- Chipped: Glassblower Upgrade, made from the Glassblower.[4]
- Chipped: Loom Table Upgrade, made from the Loom Table.[4]
- Chipped: Mason Table Upgrade, made from the Mason Table.[4]
- Chipped: Tinkering Table Upgrade, made from the Tinkering Table.[4]
The storage versions use the same names, for example Chipped: Glassblower Upgrade and Chipped: Mason Table Upgrade.[4]
How they are crafted
All of these upgrade recipes are marked as changed by the pack, so don't rely on the mod's defaults. Each one is a shaped crafting recipe built around the matching Chipped station, plus the Upgrade Base from the backpack or storage mod. Here are the Glassblower upgrades as examples:[4]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Chipped?
2 parts
Chipped only shows up in one quest in this pack: "Chipped" quest, in the Building Tips chapter. It comes after the Changing Blocks quest, so finish that one first.[3]
What the quest asks for
This is a pick-one task. You only need to have any one of the Chipped items it lists to complete it. You don't have to collect them all.[3]
- Stations: Botanist Workbench, Glassblower, Carpenters Table, Loom Table, Mason Table, Alchemy Bench and Tinkering Table.[3]
- Other accepted items: Watering Can, Alchemy Book, Saw, Needles, Chisel and Multimeter.[3]
What the quest tells you
The quest compares Chipped to the Chisels mods, since it also changes the designs of blocks. The difference is that Chipped uses stations you go to in order to change blocks. It says there are 7 stations, and each one changes different blocks. The Carpenters Table changes wood and the Glassblower changes glass.[3]
The quest also says 6 of those stations can be turned into a handheld item for easier access, and that there are even Backpack Upgrades for them.[3]
What changed in Chipped between versions?
2 parts
All the Mods 10 8.1 ships Chipped 4.0.2. The mod was first included in the pack in All the Mods 10 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-time resident.[2]
Chipped 4.0.2 (the version in this pack)
Chipped 4.0.1 and 4.0.0
The changelogs for 4.0.1 and 4.0.0 list the same entries. Both are tagged 1.21, both added trapdoors to the wooden trapdoors tag (#314), and both fixed mobs being able to spawn on glass (#290).[6][7]
