What is Just Dyna Things?
2 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things that adds extra machines, generators, goo tiers and handy utility items. This pack ships version 1.14. If you already use Just Dire Things and want more ways to repair gear, make power and farm resources, this mod is for you.[1][2]
What it adds
- Four anvils that repair items without experience: Ferricore Anvil (uses catalysts), Blazegold Anvil (high-temperature fluids), Celestigem Anvil (Forge Energy) and Eclipse Alloy Anvil (Forge Energy, with an optional coolant).[3][4][5][6][7]
- Echoing budding blocks, such as Echoing Budding Amethyst and Echoing Budding Certus, that grow clusters using Time Fluid and energy.[8][9][10]
- Energized goo tiers that need Forge Energy to stay alive, plus the Stabilizer, which can revive a goo on top of it using Forge Energy.[11][12][13]
- Power generation from the Thermo Generator (a heat source plus a fluid coolant) and four solar panels, from Ferricore Solar Panel up to Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel.[14][15][16][17]
- Utility items: the Blackhole (a universal trash can), the Ferricore Clock redstone clock, the Phase Box and wands like the Picker Wand and Swapper Wand.[18][19][20][21][22]
Where it fits in the pack
The mod has its own quests in the Just Dire Things chapter. The anvils form a chain: start with a quest in "?" for the Ferricore Anvil, then a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and finally a quest in "?" for the Eclipse Alloy Anvil.[23]
The goo upgraders form a second chain: a quest in "?" for Goo Upgrader T1, a quest in "?" for Goo Upgrader T2 and a quest in "?" for Goo Upgrader T3. The Stabilizer quest, a quest in "?", unlocks after that last one. The solar panels each have their own quest, for example a quest in "?" for the Ferricore panel.[23]
Unverified Nothing in the available sources places this mod on the ATM Star quest path.
How do you get started with Just Dyna Things?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things that adds new stuff. In this pack it has quests in the "just_dire_things" chapter, and many of them ask you to have one of the mod's items. That makes the quest list a handy checklist for what to build first.[2][23]
Step one: get power with the Ferricore Solar Panel
Several things in this mod use Forge Energy, so start with Ferricore Solar Panel. The mod's guide lists a default max rate of 240 FE, with the Overworld, a clear view of the sky and daytime as default conditions. It also notes that everything can be modified via configs, so treat those numbers as defaults. The pack changed this recipe from the mod's version, so use the one below. Its quest is a quest in "?".[16][23][26]

This recipe is changed by the pack.
Step two: make a Ferricore Anvil
The anvils repair items without using experience. The first one is the Ferricore Anvil, which repairs tools using certain catalysts. Its quest is a quest in "?".[3][7][23]

Later anvils are upgrades of the one before. The Blazegold Anvil repairs with high temperature fluids. The Celestigem Anvil repairs with Forge Energy. The Eclipse Alloy Anvil also uses Forge Energy and adds a coolant option. The quests follow the same order: a quest in "?", then a quest in "?", then a quest in "?". The recipes are shown below in the same order.[4][5][6][23][26]

Step three: climb the goo tiers
The goo quests ask for a goo block of the matching tier, a goo upgrader and a raw material from Just Dire Things. a quest in "?" wants the tier 2 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T1 and raw blazegold. a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" continue with Goo Upgrader T2 and Goo Upgrader T3.[23][26]

After the last of those, a quest in "?" asks for the Stabilizer. It revives any goo on top of it using Forge Energy, and it can also keep a Paradox Mixer alive. The pack added this recipe itself, so it won't match the mod's default.[13][23][26]

Step four: pick up the handy extras
These quests all unlock after the same earlier quest in the chapter, so you can do them whenever you have the materials:[23]
- Ferricore Clock: a redstone clock where you choose which sides output power. Quest: a quest in "?".[19][23]
- Blackhole: a universal trash can. Switch it off and it can store an abnormal amount of energy or fluid in a cheap space. Quest: a quest in "?".[18][23]
- Thermo Generator: a generator that uses heat source blocks and a fluid coolant. Quest: a quest in "?".[14][23]
- Picker Wand and Swapper Wand: the Picker Wand picks up a block and places it elsewhere, and the Swapper Wand swaps a block for another without removing it from the world. Quests: a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[21][22][23]
- Phase Box: a block whose solid state you can toggle on and off. Quest: a quest in "?".[20][23]
How does Just Dyna Things work?
8 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for JustDireThings, and most of what it adds is small, self-contained machines that run on Forge Energy (FE) and fluids. This section covers how those machines work in this pack: power, goo upkeep, budding farms, anvils and the utility blocks. The guide doesn't describe any multiblocks or any item or pipe automation setups, so none are covered here.[2]
Power generation
Power comes from solar panels and the Thermo Generator. Solar panels produce FE from environmental conditions. The Thermo Generator produces FE from a heat source block plus a fluid coolant.[14][15]
Solar panels
Solar panels come in several tiers. The guide gives each panel a default max FE rate and default conditions, and it warns that everything can be changed in the configs. Treat the list below as defaults unless a config line says otherwise.[16][17][24][25]
- Ferricore Solar Panel: 240 FE by default. It only works in the Overworld, with a view of the sky, during the day.[16]
- Blazegold Solar Panel: 960 FE by default, and by default it only works in the Nether. This pack keeps the 960 production value (5-solar_panel.blazegold_solar_panel_energy_every_tick).[24][27]
- The Blazegold panel's FE buffer in this pack is 100,000 (5-solar_panel.blazegold_solar_panel_max_energy_storage), which is the mod default.[27]
- Celestigem Solar Panel: 3840 FE by default. It needs to see the sky, and it produces more the more solar panels are placed near each other. This pack keeps 3840 (5-solar_panel.celestigem_solar_panel_energy_every_tick).[25][27]
- The Celestigem panel's FE buffer is 1,000,000 in this pack (5-solar_panel.celestigem_solar_panel_max_energy_storage), which is the mod default.[27]
- Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel: 11520 FE by default. Nearby panels boost its output, and Y-level changes it too: high or low Y raises the multiplier and middle Y lowers it.[17]
The Blazegold panel's checks are individual config toggles, such as 5-solar_panel.blazegold_solar_panel_require_to_see_sky and 5-solar_panel.blazegold_solar_panel_require_dayTime. In this pack both are false, so the Blazegold panel's real behaviour here can differ from the guide's default description.[27]
The Ferricore Solar Panel's recipe was changed by the pack, so craft it from this one:[26]
Crafting Shaped

Thermo Generator
The Thermo Generator's guide page gives these formulas: FE generation is 125 x CoolantEfficiency x HeatEfficiency, and the mB cost is 125 / CoolantEfficiency. A better coolant therefore gives more power and uses less fluid. The page notes that the formulas may be simplified in the future.[14]
Its FE buffer is 1,000,000 in this pack (2-blocks.thermo_generator_max_energy_storage), which is the mod default.[27]
Goo, Stabilizer and Paradox Mixer
The mod adds extra goo tiers. The energized goos each have a tier level: Primogel is 1, Blazebloom is 2, VoidShimmer is 3, ShadowPulse is 4, and the plain Energized Goo is 5. The Creative Goo is MAX tier, cannot die, and can be toggled with any wrench. The pack keeps all of these tier values at the mod defaults.[12][27][28][29][30][31][32]
Energized goos need Forge Energy to stay alive. The generic energy goo draws 100 FE per tick (4-goo.generic_energy_goo_energy_every_tick) and holds 10,000 FE (4-goo.generic_energy_goo_max_energy_storage), both the mod defaults.[12][27]
Tier can scale both the capacity and the FE cost, through the switches 4-goo.generic_energy_goo_tier_multiply_energy_capacity and 4-goo.generic_energy_goo_tier_multiply_energy_cost. Both are on in this pack. The plain Energized Goo has a counter reducer of 15 (4-goo.energized_goo_counter_reducer).[27]
The Stabilizer revives any goo sitting on top of it using FE. It costs 1,000 FE per tick (2-blocks.stabilizer_energy_every_tick) and holds 10,000 FE (2-blocks.stabilizer_max_energy_storage), both the mod defaults. It can also play a sound when it revitalizes a goo, which is on in this pack (2-blocks.stabilizer_emit_sound).[13][27]
The Paradox Mixer is an unstable block that mass-crafts fluid drop recipes. It needs at least one energized Stabilizer to stay alive, and for the mixer the Stabilizer is energized with Time Fluid instead of FE.[13][33]
The fluid side of the Stabilizer costs 100 mB per tick (2-blocks.stabilizer_fluid_every_tick) and holds 1,000 mB (2-blocks.stabilizer_max_fluid_storage), again the mod defaults.[27]
Echoing Buddings
Echoing Buddings are budding blocks that grow clusters when they are supplied with Time Fluid and Energy. Variants exist for Amethyst, Certus, Entro, Time and Phasorite. The guide lists Minecraft and JustDireThings as base support, and Applied Energistics 2, Extended AE and Phasorite Networks as extra mod support.[8][9][10][34][35][36]
The shared budding settings in this pack are all the mod defaults:[27]
- Energy cost: 100 FE per tick (3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_energy_every_tick).[27]
- Fluid cost: 100 mB per tick (3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_fluid_every_tick).[27]
- Energy buffer: 10,000 FE (3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_max_energy_storage).[27]
- Fluid buffer: 10,000 mB (3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_max_fluid_storage).[27]
- 3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_random_energy_cost and 3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_random_fluid_cost are both true. According to their descriptions, the cost is applied by chance when a cluster grows.[27]
- Growth sounds are on (3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_emit_sound).[27]
The pack changed the Certus and Entro budding recipes. The Amethyst and Time versions use the mod's own recipes.[26]

Anvils
The mod's anvils repair items without using experience. Each tier has its own repair method:[3]
- Ferricore Anvil repairs tools using catalyst items.[7]
- Blazegold Anvil repairs items using high-temperature fluids.[4]
- Celestigem Anvil repairs items using Forge Energy.[5]
- Eclipse Alloy Anvil also repairs using Forge Energy. If you add a coolant, it repairs by coolant-efficiency / 100 x total-damage, which can restore more than 1000 per tick or repair the item completely.[6]

Utility blocks
The Blackhole is a universal trash can for energy and fluids. You can turn it off, and then it stores huge amounts of energy or fluid in a small space. The keep-content option is true in this pack (2-blocks.blackhole_keep_content), so it keeps what it holds when redstone disables it.[18][27]
Its FE capacity is 2,147,483,647 (2-blocks.blackhole_max_energy_storage) and its fluid capacity is 2,147,483,647 (2-blocks.blackhole_max_fluid_storage). The per tick cost settings are also 2,147,483,647 for energy (2-blocks.blackhole_energy_every_tick) and for fluid (2-blocks.blackhole_fluid_every_tick). All of these are the mod defaults.[27]
The Ferricore Clock is a fully configurable redstone clock. You program each side with its own game-tick timing, and you can disable sides, such as north and up, to avoid powering things you don't want. In this pack 2-blocks.ferricore_clock_require_wrench is false, so no wrench is needed to change a face. The Phase Box (Ethereal Glass) works similarly: it toggles between solid and non-solid, and 2-blocks.phase_box_require_wrench is also false here.[19][20][27]
The Reforger converts a block placed on its red face into an output block at the cost of a catalyst. In JEI, its conversions are split into block-to-block, block-to-tag and tag-to-block categories.[37][38]
Wands
The Advanced Time Wand is an upgraded Time Wand with more capacity and click-action modes. Normal works like a regular Time Wand. Speed 2x gives 4 > 16 > 64 > 256, Speed 4x gives 16 > 256, and Max Speed always gives 256x. The modes can be changed or disabled in the config. The pack raised its fluid capacity to 8,000,000 mB, up from the mod default of 800,000 (7-wands.advanced_time_wand_max_fluid_storage).[27][39]

The mod also has a Picker Wand (picks up a block and places it elsewhere), a Swapper Wand (swaps a block with another without removing it from the world) and a Temporal Stupefy Wand (removes TimeWand entities and applies a short stupefy effect).[21][22][40]
How do you progress through Just Dyna Things?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, so its items are built from the same metal tiers: Ferricore, Blazegold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy. In this pack the quests in the just_dire_things chapter walk you through those tiers for three item families: anvils, solar panels and goos.[2][23][26]
Anvil line
The anvils repair items without spending experience. Each tier is a different way of paying for the repair, and the quests follow the tiers in order.[3][23]
- Ferricore Anvil (quest a quest in "?") repairs tools using catalysts.[7][23]
- Blazegold Anvil (quest a quest in "?") repairs items using high temperature fluids.[4][23]
- Celestigem Anvil (quest a quest in "?") repairs items using Forge Energy (FE).[5][23]
- Eclipse Alloy Anvil (quest a quest in "?") also uses FE. When a coolant is added, the repair amount is based on the coolant efficiency and the item's total damage.[6][23]

Solar panel line
The solar panels follow the same four tiers and have their own quests. The FE rates below are the mod's defaults from the in-game guide, which says everything can be changed in configs.[15][16][23]
- Ferricore Solar Panel (quest a quest in "?"): default max of 240 FE. By default it works in the Overworld, with sky access, during the day.[16][23]
- Blazegold Solar Panel (quest a quest in "?"): default max of 960 FE, and by default it needs the Nether.[23][24]
- Celestigem Solar Panel (quest a quest in "?"): default max of 3,840 FE. By default it needs sky access, and panels placed near each other produce more.[23][25]
- Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel (quest a quest in "?"): default max of 11,520 FE. Nearby panels boost it, and high or low Y-levels raise the multiplier while middle Y-levels lower it.[17][23]

Goo upgrades and the Stabilizer
The goo quests are a chain. Each quest asks for the next goo block tier, the matching Goo Upgrader and a raw metal. The first is a quest in "?" with Goo Upgrader T1, then a quest in "?" with Goo Upgrader T2, then a quest in "?" with Goo Upgrader T3.[23]

The energy goos in the guide are numbered tier 1 to 4: Energized Primogel, Blazebloom, VoidShimmer and ShadowPulse. Energized Goo is tier 5, and Creative Goo is the MAX tier and cannot die. Energized Goo needs Forge Energy to stay alive.[12][28][29][30][31][32]
After the tier 4 goo quest comes a quest in "?" for the Stabilizer. It revives a goo on top of it using FE, and it also keeps an energized Paradox Mixer alive. The pack adds its own Stabilizer recipe.[13][23][26][33]

The pack also adds a recipe for Creative Goo, which uses the Stabilizer.[26]
Side quests
The rest of the chapter is single-item quests that all follow the same earlier quest. They cover the Swapper Wand (a quest in "?"), Picker Wand (a quest in "?"), Thermo Generator (a quest in "?"), Blackhole (a quest in "?"), Phase Box (a quest in "?") and Ferricore Clock (a quest in "?").[23]
Quest a quest in "?" accepts any one of the four echoing buddings: Echoing Budding Time, Echoing Budding Amethyst, Echoing Budding Certus or Echoing Budding Entro. They grow clusters using Time Fluid and energy. The pack changed the Certus and Entro recipes, and it also changed the Picker Wand recipe.[8][23][26]

How does Just Dyna Things work with other mods?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, so that's the mod it connects to most. In this pack, the recipes in the mod lean heavily on Just Dire Things metals, gems, coals and templates. The pack also adds a few of its own recipes and tweaks others.[2][26]
Anvils and solar panels follow the Just Dire Things tiers
The anvil line goes Ferricore Anvil, Blazegold Anvil, Celestigem Anvil and Eclipse Alloy Anvil. The solar panels follow the same four materials. Each step up can be crafted, or done as a smithing upgrade using the matching Just Dire Things template, such as Template: Blazegold.[26]
Smithing Transform
Recipe id: justdynathings:blazegold_solar_panel_smithing
A smithing upgrade that uses the Blazegold template and the previous panel tier.
In the pack's quest chapter named just_dire_things, the anvils follow the same order: a quest in "?" for the Ferricore Anvil, then a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" for the rest.[23]

Goo, the Stabilizer and Creative Goo
The Goo Upgrader items are crafted from Just Dire Things' Upgrade: Blank. Three quests pair them with Just Dire Things goo blocks and materials: a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[23][26]
After that chain, a quest in "?" asks for the Stabilizer. The pack adds its own recipe for it, using Just Dire Things parts. The Stabilizer revives goo on top of it using Forge Energy.[13][23][26]

Echoing Buddings and the AE2 family
The Echoing Buddings support vanilla Minecraft and Just Dire Things as a base. Applied Energistics 2, Extended AE and Phasorite Networks are listed as extra supported mods. The pack changed the recipes for Echoing Budding Certus (AE2) and Echoing Budding Entro (Extended AE). Both take items from a compat tag for their mod.[8][26]

Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Just Dyna Things?
4 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
All of this mod's quests live in a single chapter, called just_dire_things. Every quest in it is untitled, so you'll recognise them by the item they ask for. Each one is an item-submission quest.[41]
Starter quests
Seven quests unlock straight after the chapter's opening quest, so you can do them in any order. Each asks you to have one item: the Swapper Wand (a quest in "?"), the Thermo Generator (a quest in "?"), the Blackhole (a quest in "?"), the Picker Wand (a quest in "?"), the Phase Box (a quest in "?") and the Ferricore Clock (a quest in "?").[41]
The seventh, a quest in "?", accepts any one of four items: Echoing Budding Time, Echoing Budding Amethyst, Echoing Budding Certus or Echoing Budding Entro.[41]
The goo upgrader line
This is a straight chain, and each quest unlocks the next. Every step asks for three items at once: a goo block, a goo upgrader and a raw metal or gem.[41]
- a quest in "?" asks for a tier 2 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T1 and raw blazegold.[41]
- a quest in "?" asks for a tier 3 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T2 and celestigem.[41]
- a quest in "?" asks for a tier 4 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T3 and raw eclipse alloy.[41]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Stabilizer and comes after the tier 4 step.[41]
The anvil line
The anvils form another chain, one metal tier at a time. The first anvil quest also needs a second prerequisite quest, which is not part of the quests listed here.[41]
- a quest in "?": the Ferricore Anvil.[41]
- a quest in "?": the Blazegold Anvil.[41]
- a quest in "?": the Celestigem Anvil.[41]
- a quest in "?": the Eclipse Alloy Anvil.[41]
Solar panels
The four solar panel quests each follow their own prerequisite rather than one another. In the same four tiers, they ask for the Ferricore Solar Panel (a quest in "?"), the Blazegold Solar Panel (a quest in "?"), the Celestigem Solar Panel (a quest in "?") and the Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel (a quest in "?"). The prerequisites for the last three are quests not listed in this chapter's data, so I can't say where they sit in the questbook.[41]
Unverified The quest data doesn't show rewards or descriptions for any of these quests, so check the in-game questbook for what each one gives you.
Which Just Dyna Things config options matter?
5 parts
Good news: this pack leaves almost all of Just Dyna Things at the mod's own numbers. Among the options where the config file lists a mod default, the only one marked as changed by the pack is the Advanced Time Wand fluid capacity. The rest of this section covers that change and the settings worth checking.[27]
The value the pack changed
The fluid capacity of the Advanced Time Wand, 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_max_fluid_storage, is set to 8,000,000 MB in this pack. The mod default is 800,000 MB, so the wand gets a much bigger tank here than it would in a stock install.[27]
The wand's energy capacity, 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_max_energy_storage, stays at the default 10,000,000 FE.[27]
Time wand speeds
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_max_multiplier is 256. The config notes say that going below 256 can disable other wand modes, and that the value should be a power of two.[27]
- The modes are set to 1 (Normal), 2 (X2), 4 (X4) and 8 (Max) through 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_normal, 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_x2, 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_x4 and 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_max.[27]
- Fake players can use the Advanced Time Wand, since 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_allow_fakeplayer is true. The Picker Wand and Swapper Wand do not allow them, as 7-wands.picker_wand_allow_fakeplayer and 7-wands.swapper_wand_allow_fakeplayer are false.[27]
Solar panels
Power output per tick matches the mod default for every panel tier: Ferricore 240 FE/t, Blazegold 960 FE/t, Celestigem 3,840 FE/t and Eclipse Alloy 11,520 FE/t. The conditions differ per tier, so check them before you build a big array.[27]
- Ferricore: 5-solar_panel.ferricore_solar_panel_require_dayTime and 5-solar_panel.ferricore_solar_panel_require_to_see_sky are both true, so it only works in daytime with a view of the sky.[27]
- Blazegold: the daytime, sky, Y-level and placed-alone conditions are all false, so it has none of those limits.[27]
- Celestigem: it needs to see the sky, and its output is reduced when placed alone (5-solar_panel.celestigem_solar_panel_reduce_production_when_placed_alone is true). It does not need daytime.[27]
- Eclipse Alloy: output is reduced by Y level and when placed alone, as 5-solar_panel.eclipse_alloy_solar_panel_reduce_production_at_y_level and 5-solar_panel.eclipse_alloy_solar_panel_reduce_production_when_placed_alone are both true. It needs neither daytime nor a view of the sky.[27]
Goo tiers
The goo tiers are all at their mod defaults: Charged Primogel is tier 1, Charged Blazebloom 2, Charged Voidshimmer 3, Charged Shadowpulse 4 and Energized Goo 5. Each of these has a counter reducer of 15. Creative Goo uses 2,147,483,647 for both its tier and its counter reducer.[27]
Quality-of-life toggles
- 2-blocks.ferricore_clock_require_wrench and 2-blocks.phase_box_require_wrench are both false, so you don't need a wrench to change the Ferricore Clock face or the Phase Box state.[27]
- 2-blocks.blackhole_keep_content is true, so the Blackhole keeps what it has stored when redstone disables it.[27]
- Sound toggles such as 6-anvil.anvil_emit_sound and 8-paradox_mixer.paradox_mixer_emit_sound are true. Set them to false if the repair or mixer sounds bother you.[27]
