What is Just Dyna Things?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things that adds extra blocks and items on top of it. This pack ships version 1.20.3.[1][2]
What it adds
- Anvils that repair items without Experience. The Ferricore Anvil uses catalysts, the Blazegold Anvil uses high temperature fluids, and the Celestigem Anvil uses Forge Energy (FE). The Eclipse Alloy Anvil also uses FE, and adding a coolant changes how it repairs.[3][4][5][6][7]
- Echoing budding blocks, such as Echoing Budding Amethyst, that need Time Fluid and Energy to grow clusters.[8]
- Extra goo tiers. Energized Goo needs Forge Energy to stay alive, and the Stabilizer can revive a goo on top of it using FE.[9][10][11]
- Power generation: the Thermo Generator makes FE from heat source blocks and a fluid coolant, and a set of solar panels starts with the Blazegold Solar Panel.[12][13][14]
- Utility blocks such as the Blackhole (a universal trash can), the Ferricore Clock (a configurable redstone clock) and the Phase Box (a block whose solid state you can toggle).[15][16][17]
Where it sits in the quest book
The mod's quests live in the just_dire_things chapter, alongside the Just Dire Things quests. Most of them, such as the Thermo Generator, Blackhole, Phase Box and Ferricore Clock quests, follow one shared earlier quest.[18]
The anvils form a chain. "Ferricore Anvil" quest (Ferricore Anvil) leads to "Blazegold Anvil" quest (Blazegold Anvil), then "Celestigem Anvil" quest (Celestigem Anvil), then "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest (Eclipse Alloy Anvil).[18]
The goo upgraders form another chain. "Creating Blazegold" quest uses the Goo Upgrader T1, "Making Celestigems" quest uses the Goo Upgrader T2, and "Ore of the Eclipse" quest uses the Goo Upgrader T3. The Stabilizer quest, "Stabilizer" quest, comes right after that last one.[18]
Unverified The sources here do not show whether the ATM Star path uses this mod. Check the pack's quest book for that.
How do you get started with Just Dyna Things?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things. The pack's quest book describes it as adding new blocks and quality of life things on top of that mod, so your first steps start in the Just Dire Things quest chapter, not with a Dyna item.[2][19]
Step 1: Get the goo going
The quest book starts you with Primogel Goo. "Welcome to Just Dire Things!" quest asks you to craft it, and "It All Starts With Goo" quest is the first goo quest that follows.[19]
Then do "Goo Transmutations" quest. Its tasks are Iron Block, Raw Ferricore and Ferricore Ingot, and its text has you place the goo in an open space, feed it Sugar or Rotten Flesh, and put Iron Blocks on its faces. Ferricore Ingots go into several of the Dyna recipes below.[19][20]
Step 2: Open the Just Dyna Things quest
"Just Dyna Things" quest is a checkmark quest in the same chapter (group Tech Mods) that introduces the addon. Several of the addon's early quests come after it: "Swapper Wand" quest, "Picker Wand" quest, "Ferricore Clock" quest, "Blackhole" quest and "Thermo Generator" quest.[2][19]
Step 3: Your first Dyna items
The Picker Wand is a handy start. It picks up a simple block and places it somewhere else. Blocks with an interface or used for processing are probably too complex to move. The pack changed this recipe from the mod's own.[19][20][21]

Next is the Ferricore Anvil, which repairs items with iron ingots or ferricore ingots, and ferricore repairs twice as much durability. It comes after Goo Transmutations and Just Dyna Things in the quest book. In this pack it is a smithing recipe.[19][20]

For power, the Ferricore Solar Panel is the first tier of solar panel. In the quest book it comes after Gooey Coal and Just Dyna Things. The pack changed its recipe, and one craft gives you 3 panels.[19][20]

The quest book says this panel works in the overworld. In the pack's config, both daytime and a view of the sky are required for it.[19][22]
If you want redstone timing, the Ferricore Clock turns its active sides on and off on a timer. Interact with a side to toggle it, and sneak-interact to adjust the timer. In this pack's config no wrench is required to change its faces.[19][22]

Step 4: Move up a goo tier
The quest "Creating Blazegold" quest asks for the Goo Upgrader T1, Blazebloom Goo and Raw Blazegold. Blazegold Ingots are what the recipes for the Blazegold Anvil and the Blazegold Solar Panel use, so this is where those Dyna items open up.[19][20]

Later, the Stabilizer revives goo using Forge Energy so you don't have to keep feeding it. It comes after the quest "Ore of the Eclipse" quest. The pack added its own recipe for it.[11][19][20]

How does Just Dyna Things work?
8 parts
Just Dyna Things is a JustDireThings addon, and most of its machines work the same way: they hold a small buffer of Forge Energy (FE) and/or fluid (mB) and drain a fixed amount every tick. Those buffer sizes and per-tick rates all live in the mod's server config, so this section points you at the options as it goes.[2][22]
Solar panels
There are four solar panels, and each one trades a harder condition for more FE per tick. The in-game guide says every value can be changed in the configs, and in this pack the FE rates below are the same as the mod defaults.[13][14][22]
- Ferricore Solar Panel: 240 FE/t. It needs the Overworld, a view of the sky and daytime, and it stores 100,000 FE. Its biome list is a whitelist that covers Overworld and void biomes.[22][23][24]
- Blazegold Solar Panel: 960 FE/t, built for the Nether (its biome whitelist is the Nether tag). In the pack config it needs neither daytime nor sky access, and it stores 100,000 FE.[14][22][25]
- Celestigem Solar Panel: 3,840 FE/t. It needs to see the sky, and the more solar panels sit near each other, the more each one produces. A lone panel is penalised. It stores 1,000,000 FE.[22][26]
- Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel: 11,520 FE/t. Nearby panels boost it too, and the Y-level matters: high or low Y raises the multiplier, middle Y lowers it. It stores 1,000,000 FE.[22][27]
The conditions are separate config switches per panel, for example 5-solar_panel.ferricore_solar_panel_require_dayTime and 5-solar_panel.celestigem_solar_panel_reduce_production_when_placed_alone. The Ferricore Solar Panel recipe is changed by the pack:[20][22]

Thermo Generator
The Thermo Generator makes FE from a heat source block and a fluid coolant. The in-game guide gives the formula as FE gen = 125 x CoolantEfficiency x HeatEfficiency, with a coolant cost of 125 / CoolantEfficiency in mB. That 125 is the mod default for the base FE: this pack sets 2-blocks.thermo_generator_energy_every_tick to 100,000, so the base in this pack is far higher. The base coolant cost, 2-blocks.thermo_generator_fluid_every_tick, stays at 125, and 2-blocks.thermo_generator_max_energy_storage is 1,000,000 FE.[12][22]
Heat efficiency values from the mod's data:[28]
- Tier 1 to 4 JustDireThings coal blocks: 2.5, 5.5, 7.5 and 10.5.[28]
- Lava: 1.0. Lava cauldron: 0.99.[28]
- Magma block, soul campfire and soul fire: 0.75 each.[28]
- Campfire and fire: 0.5 each.[28]
Coolant efficiency: water is 1.0, polymorphic fluid is 2.5 and Time Fluid is 5.0. A better coolant makes more FE and also costs fewer mB.[12][29]
Goo and the Stabilizer
The mod adds goo tiers. The energy goos need FE to stay alive: Charged Primogel Goo is tier 1, Charged Blazebloom Goo tier 2, Charged Voidshimmer Goo tier 3, Charged Shadowpulse Goo tier 4, and Energized Goo tier 5. The guide says the first four are mainly made for content creators. The generic energy goo options are 4-goo.generic_energy_goo_energy_every_tick at 100 FE/t and 4-goo.generic_energy_goo_max_energy_storage at 10,000 FE, and the tier can scale both the capacity and the FE cost.[10][22][30][31][32][33]
Creative Goo cannot die, can be toggled with any wrench, and is the maximum tier.[34]
This recipe is added by the pack.
The Stabilizer revives any goo on top of it using FE. It drains 1,000 FE/t and 100 mB/t, and it stores 10,000 FE and 1,000 mB. It can also keep a Paradox Mixer alive when you feed it Time Fluid.[11][22]

Paradox Mixer
The Paradox Mixer is an unstable block that mass-crafts fluid drop recipes, and it needs at least one energized Stabilizer to stay alive. The pack raises its fluid capacity to 4,000 mB (mod default 1,000) via 8-paradox_mixer.paradox_mixer_max_fluid_storage.[22][36]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: justdynathings:paradox_mixer
Echoing Buddings
Echoing buddings grow clusters using Time Fluid and energy. The guide lists 100 mB of Time Fluid and 100 FE. In the config that is 3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_energy_every_tick and 3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_fluid_every_tick, both 100 per tick, with 3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_max_energy_storage and 3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_max_fluid_storage both at 10,000. The costs are applied by chance when a cluster grows, controlled by 3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_random_energy_cost and 3-echoing_budding.echoing_budding_random_fluid_cost.[8][22]
There is base support for Minecraft and JustDireThings resources, plus optional compat for Applied Energistics 2, Extended AE, Phasorite Networks and any GeOre budding. The startup config can switch each compat off.[8][37]

Ticker and Advanced Time Wand
The Ticker uses Time Fluid and energy to speed up the block on its highlighted face. Its costs are 9-ticker.ticker_energy_every_tick at 10 FE/t and 9-ticker.ticker_fluid_every_tick at 1 mB/t, with buffers of 10,000 FE (9-ticker.ticker_max_energy_storage) and 1,000 mB (9-ticker.ticker_max_fluid_storage). The pack sets 9-ticker.ticker_max_tick_rate to 16, where the mod default is 1,200.[22][38]
The Advanced Time Wand is an upgraded Time Wand with more capacity and click modes. By default Normal acts like a regular Time Wand, Speed 2x steps 4, 16, 64, 256, Speed 4x steps 16, 256, and Max Speed always gives 256x. The config sets the mode multipliers to 1, 2, 4 and 8, with a max multiplier of 256. Its FE buffer is 10,000,000, and the pack raises its fluid capacity to 8,000,000 mB (mod default 800,000). Blocks in the JustDireThings tick speed deny tag are off limits to it.[22][39][40]
Anvils
The anvils repair items without Experience. Each uses a different resource.[3]
- Ferricore Anvil: repairs tools with catalysts. An iron ingot restores 64 durability and a Ferricore ingot restores 128.[7][41]
- Blazegold Anvil: repairs with hot fluids. Lava has efficiency 1.0, and refined tier 2, 3 and 4 fluids have 2.5, 5.5 and 7.5. It uses 10 mB/t and holds 10,000 mB.[4][22][42]
- Celestigem Anvil: repairs with FE, using 100 FE/t and holding 10,000 FE.[5][22]
- Eclipse Alloy Anvil: repairs with FE, and with a coolant it repairs based on coolant-efficiency / 100 x total-damage. Time Fluid is listed at 10.0. The damage limit option is 1,000: that is the minimal damage until an item counts as instantly repairable.[6][22][43]

Utility blocks and wands
- Blackhole: the universal trash can. It can be turned off to store huge amounts of energy or fluid cheaply, and in this pack it keeps its contents when redstone disables it. Capacity is 2,147,483,647 for both FE and mB.[15][22]
- Ferricore Clock: a redstone clock that powers any side you choose on a specific game tick. In this pack changing a face does not require a wrench.[16][22]
- Phase Box: toggles its solid state on and off. In this pack no wrench is required.[17][22]
- Reforger: converts an input block placed on its red face into an output block, at the cost of a catalyst.[44]
- Light Wand places and breaks light blocks, can apply Glowing and uses durability. Advanced Light Wand works the same but uses FE on every use (100 FE/t, 10,000 FE buffer for the basic wand).[22][45][46]
- Picker Wand and Swapper Wand: the first picks up a block and places it where you want, the second swaps a block with another without removing it. Neither supports fake players in this pack.[21][22][47]
How do you progress through Just Dyna Things?
5 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, and the pack's quest book tells its story inside the Just Dire Things chapter (group Tech Mods, chapter 35 of 41). The addon's own quest, "Just Dyna Things" quest, warns that the in-game guide does not fully reflect the values configured for this pack. So when numbers disagree, trust the quest book.[19]
Almost everything in this mod follows the four metal tiers of Just Dire Things: Ferricore, Blazegold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy. Each tier unlocks a new goo, a new solar panel and a new anvil.[19][20]
The goo tiers
The addon adds Goo Upgrader items that the quest book asks for when you step up a goo tier. Here is the path the quests lay out.[19][20]
- Tier 1, Primogel Goo: wake it with Sugar or Rotten Flesh, then surround it with Iron Blocks to get Ferricore ore ("Goo Transmutations" quest).[19]
- Tier 2, Blazebloom Goo: you craft Goo Upgrader T1 first. Feed it Nether Wart or Blaze Powder, and it turns Blocks of Gold into Blazegold. It still makes Ferricore ore, and faster than Primogel ("Creating Blazegold" quest).[19]
- Tier 3, VoidShimmer Goo: you need Goo Upgrader T2. Feed it Ender Pearls or Chorus Fruit, and it turns Diamond Blocks into Celestigems ("Making Celestigems" quest).[19]
- Tier 4, Shadowpulse Goo: you need Goo Upgrader T3, and the quest says to challenge the Deep Dark's denizen first. Feed it Sculk or Sculk Catalysts, and it turns Netherite Blocks into Eclipse Alloy Ore ("Ore of the Eclipse" quest).[19]

The Stabilizer is the late-game goo helper. Placed under a goo, it revives it with FE, so you no longer have to feed items every now and then. Its quest comes after "Ore of the Eclipse" quest, and the recipe is one this pack adds.[11][19][20]

The end of the line is Creative Goo, a goo that cannot die, listed as tier MAX in the guide. In this pack it is a custom recipe built from the Stabilizer.[20][34]
Solar panels, T1 to T4
The four panels each unlock after a fuel milestone from Just Dire Things. Here is where the quest book puts them and what it says each produces.[19]
- Ferricore Solar Panel (T1) comes after "Gooey Coal" quest. It makes 64 FE/tick in the overworld with a clear view of the day sky.[19]
- Blazegold Solar Panel (T2) comes after "Blaze Ember" quest. It makes 512 FE/tick in the Nether.[19]
- Celestigem Solar Panel (T3) comes after "Voidflame Coal" quest. It makes 1,024 FE/tick with a clear view of the sky, and panels placed close together boost its output.[19]
- Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel (T4) comes after "Eclipse Ember" quest. It makes up to 2,048 FE/tick anywhere, with the best output at the highest (y=319) and lowest (y=-64) levels. Nearby panels boost it too.[19]
The Ferricore panel recipe is changed by the pack. Every higher panel can also be made by smithing the previous panel with the matching template.[20]

Anvils that repair without XP
The anvil quests form a straight chain: "Ferricore Anvil" quest, then "Blazegold Anvil" quest, then "Celestigem Anvil" quest, then "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest. The guide says these anvils repair items without Experience.[3][19]
- Ferricore Anvil repairs with iron ingots or ferricore ingots, and ferricore repairs twice as much durability.[19]
- Blazegold Anvil repairs with hot fluids such as lava or JDT fluid fuels. Fuels are more efficient per bucket than lava, and get stronger per fuel tier.[19]
- Celestigem Anvil repairs with plain Forge Energy.[19]
- Eclipse Alloy Anvil repairs with energy too, but fuelling it with Time Fluid gives a huge boost to its repair rate and energy efficiency.[19]

Utility blocks and wands
Several quests unlock right after "Just Dyna Things" quest, with no metal tier gating the quest itself: Swapper Wand, Picker Wand, Blackhole, Phase Box, Ferricore Clock and Thermo Generator. The Thermo Generator is the one to plan ahead for, since its recipe asks for higher-tier materials. Its quest says polymorphic fluid is more than twice as good a coolant as water, and Time Fluid is ten times better.[19][20]

The time tools sit at the top. "Altering Time" quest comes after the Shadowpulse goo, and "Time Wand" quest follows it. The Advanced Time Wand is a smithing upgrade of that Time Wand.[19][20][39]
The Ticker and Paradox Mixer are also late-game crafts. The Ticker is built around the Time Wand, and the Paradox Mixer around the Paradox Machine and Portal Fluid. The guide says the Mixer needs at least one energized Stabilizer to stay alive.[20][36][38]

Echoing buddings
The echoing budding quest also unlocks right after "Just Dyna Things" quest. Converting budding blocks to Echoing Budding versions lets you skip their slow or odd growth rules by using energy and Time Fluid. This pack changes many of these recipes, including the coal, copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald, aluminum, certus and entro versions, so check the recipe viewer instead of assuming the mod defaults.[8][19][20]
How does Just Dyna Things work with other mods?
4 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, and the pack's recipes show it. Most of what you craft is built from Just Dire Things materials: Ferricore, Blazegold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy. A few recipes also reach into GeOre and the pack's own FTB items.[2][48]
The anvil and solar panel ladders
The four anvils form an upgrade ladder: Ferricore Anvil, Blazegold Anvil, Celestigem Anvil and Eclipse Alloy Anvil. The pack's quest chapter follows the same order, starting with "Ferricore Anvil" quest, then "Blazegold Anvil" quest, "Celestigem Anvil" quest and "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest.[18][48]

The solar panels climb the same ladder, with a Ferricore, Blazegold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy version of each. Each tier pulls in a different tier of Just Dire Things coal, and each also has a smithing upgrade from the previous panel. The pack has changed the Ferricore panel recipe, so go by this one rather than the mod's default. Goo upgraders and the Creative Goo route
The three Goo Upgraders are built on Just Dire Things' Upgrade: Blank. The quests pair them with the matching goo tier. "Creating Blazegold" quest pairs Goo Upgrader T1 with Blazebloom Goo, "Making Celestigems" quest pairs Goo Upgrader T2 with VoidShimmer Goo, and "Ore of the Eclipse" quest pairs Goo Upgrader T3 with Shadowpulse Goo.[18][48]
The pack adds its own recipe for the Stabilizer, which mixes Just Dire Things parts into a Just Dyna Things item. It unlocks after the third goo quest, through "Stabilizer" quest.[18][48]

Echoing Buddings, GeOre and the AE mods
Echoing Buddings let you farm budding resources. They need Time Fluid and energy to grow clusters. For the GeOre versions, such as Echoing Budding Iron, the pack has changed the recipe, and the example below shows the exact one.[8][48]

Echoing Budding Amethyst takes any amethyst block, and Echoing Budding Time takes any block from a time budding tag. a quest in "Just Dire Things" accepts any one of these four.[8][18][48]
Wands and machines
Several tools also build on Just Dire Things gear. The Advanced Time Wand, the Ticker and the Paradox Mixer all use Just Dire Things items in their recipes. The pack has changed the Picker Wand recipe.[48]

Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Just Dyna Things?
4 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
All of this mod's quests live in a single chapter, called just_dire_things. Every quest in it is untitled, so you'll recognise them by the item they ask for. Each one is an item-submission quest.[18]
Starter quests
Seven quests unlock straight after the chapter's opening quest, so you can do them in any order. Each asks you to have one item: the Swapper Wand ("Swapper Wand" quest), the Thermo Generator ("Thermo Generator" quest), the Blackhole ("Blackhole" quest), the Picker Wand ("Picker Wand" quest), the Phase Box ("Phase Box" quest) and the Ferricore Clock ("Ferricore Clock" quest).[18]
The seventh, a quest in "Just Dire Things", accepts any one of four items: Echoing Budding Time, Echoing Budding Amethyst, Echoing Budding Certus or Echoing Budding Entro.[18]
The goo upgrader line
This is a straight chain, and each quest unlocks the next. Every step asks for three items at once: a goo block, a goo upgrader and a raw metal or gem.[18]
- "Creating Blazegold" quest asks for a tier 2 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T1 and raw blazegold.[18]
- "Making Celestigems" quest asks for a tier 3 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T2 and celestigem.[18]
- "Ore of the Eclipse" quest asks for a tier 4 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T3 and raw eclipse alloy.[18]
- "Stabilizer" quest asks for the Stabilizer and comes after the tier 4 step.[18]
The anvil line
The anvils form another chain, one metal tier at a time. The first anvil quest also needs a second prerequisite quest, which is not part of the quests listed here.[18]
- "Ferricore Anvil" quest: the Ferricore Anvil.[18]
- "Blazegold Anvil" quest: the Blazegold Anvil.[18]
- "Celestigem Anvil" quest: the Celestigem Anvil.[18]
- "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest: the Eclipse Alloy Anvil.[18]
Solar panels
The four solar panel quests each follow their own prerequisite rather than one another. In the same four tiers, they ask for the Ferricore Solar Panel ("Ferricore Solar Panel" quest), the Blazegold Solar Panel ("Blazegold Solar Panel" quest), the Celestigem Solar Panel ("Celestigem Solar Panel" quest) and the Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel ("Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel" quest). The prerequisites for the last three are quests not listed in this chapter's data, so I can't say where they sit in the questbook.[18]
Unverified The quest data doesn't show rewards or descriptions for any of these quests, so check the in-game questbook for what each one gives you.
Which Just Dyna Things config options matter?
4 parts
Most of Just Dyna Things is left at the mod's defaults in this pack. Four values in the server config were changed, though, and those are the ones worth knowing first.[22]
Values the pack changed
- 2-blocks.thermo_generator_energy_every_tick is set to 100,000 in this pack. The mod default is 125. The config describes it as the base FE generation.[22]
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_max_fluid_storage is 8,000,000 in this pack, up from the mod default of 800,000.[22]
- 8-paradox_mixer.paradox_mixer_max_fluid_storage is 4,000 in this pack, up from the mod default of 1,000.[22]
- 9-ticker.ticker_max_tick_rate is 16 in this pack, far below the mod default of 1,200. The config describes it as the max tick speed applied.[22]
Solar panel conditions
The FE per tick of each solar panel is at the mod default: 240 for Ferricore, 960 for Blazegold, 3,840 for Celestigem and 11,520 for Eclipse Alloy. What differs between tiers is which conditions are switched on.[22]
- Ferricore requires daytime (5-solar_panel.ferricore_solar_panel_require_dayTime) and requires seeing the sky (5-solar_panel.ferricore_solar_panel_require_to_see_sky).[22]
- Blazegold has the daytime, sky, Y-level and placed-alone restrictions all turned off.[22]
- Celestigem requires seeing the sky and has the placed-alone production reduction enabled (5-solar_panel.celestigem_solar_panel_reduce_production_when_placed_alone).[22]
- Eclipse Alloy has both the Y-level reduction (5-solar_panel.eclipse_alloy_solar_panel_reduce_production_at_y_level) and the placed-alone reduction enabled, but it does not require the sky or daytime.[22]
Wands
Fake player support is on for the light wand (7-wands.light_wand_allow_fakeplayer) and the advanced time wand (7-wands.advanced_time_wand_allow_fakeplayer). It is off for the picker wand (7-wands.picker_wand_allow_fakeplayer) and the swapper wand (7-wands.swapper_wand_allow_fakeplayer).[22]
The advanced time wand has four speed modes, each with its own option:[22]
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_normal is 1.[22]
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_x2 is 2.[22]
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_x4 is 4.[22]
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_max is 8.[22]
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_max_multiplier is 256. The config notes that setting it below 256 can disable other wand modes.[22]
Compat toggles
The startup file has switches for the optional compat features: AE2, Chisel Modern, ExtendedAE, GeOre and PhasoriteNetworks. All of them are set to false, so none of the compat is disabled.[37]
The chisel options in the common config, such as chisels.celestigem_chisel_max_energy_storage at 1,000 and chisels.eclipse_alloy_chisel_max_energy_storage at 10,000, are also at the mod default.[49]
