What is Just Dyna Things?
2 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things that adds extra blocks and items on top of it. This pack ships version 1.20.3.[1][2]
What it adds
- Anvils that repair items without Experience. The Ferricore Anvil uses catalysts, the Blazegold Anvil uses high temperature fluids, and the Celestigem Anvil uses Forge Energy (FE). The Eclipse Alloy Anvil also uses FE, and adding a coolant changes how it repairs.[3][4][5][6][7]
- Echoing budding blocks, such as Echoing Budding Amethyst, that need Time Fluid and Energy to grow clusters.[8]
- Extra goo tiers. Energized Goo needs Forge Energy to stay alive, and the Stabilizer can revive a goo on top of it using FE.[9][10][11]
- Power generation: the Thermo Generator makes FE from heat source blocks and a fluid coolant, and a set of solar panels starts with the Blazegold Solar Panel.[12][13][14]
- Utility blocks such as the Blackhole (a universal trash can), the Ferricore Clock (a configurable redstone clock) and the Phase Box (a block whose solid state you can toggle).[15][16][17]
Where it sits in the quest book
The mod's quests live in the just_dire_things chapter, alongside the Just Dire Things quests. Most of them, such as the Thermo Generator, Blackhole, Phase Box and Ferricore Clock quests, follow one shared earlier quest.[18]
The anvils form a chain. "Ferricore Anvil" quest (Ferricore Anvil) leads to "Blazegold Anvil" quest (Blazegold Anvil), then "Celestigem Anvil" quest (Celestigem Anvil), then "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest (Eclipse Alloy Anvil).[18]
The goo upgraders form another chain. "Creating Blazegold" quest uses the Goo Upgrader T1, "Making Celestigems" quest uses the Goo Upgrader T2, and "Ore of the Eclipse" quest uses the Goo Upgrader T3. The Stabilizer quest, "Stabilizer" quest, comes right after that last one.[18]
Unverified The sources here do not show whether the ATM Star path uses this mod. Check the pack's quest book for that.
How do you get started with Just Dyna Things?
5 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, so most of what you build here uses Just Dire Things materials. This page follows the pack's Just Dire Things quest chapter, which unlocks the early items in a sensible order. Treat it as a suggested path, not a strict rule.[2][18]
First, power: the Ferricore Solar Panel
Start with the Ferricore Solar Panel. It generates Forge Energy, and its quest is "Ferricore Solar Panel" quest. The mod's default conditions are the Overworld, a clear view of the sky and daytime, with a default max rate of 240 FE. The mod itself says everything can be changed in configs, so check the numbers in your own game. The pack changed this recipe from the mod's version, so use this one:[18][19][20]

Next, repairs: the Ferricore Anvil
Then comes the Ferricore Anvil ("Ferricore Anvil" quest). These anvils repair items without spending experience. The Ferricore one repairs tools using certain catalysts.[3][7][18]

The quests then lead you up a ladder, and each anvil is crafted from the previous one. The Blazegold Anvil repairs with high temperature fluids. The Celestigem Anvil repairs with Forge Energy. The Eclipse Alloy Anvil also uses Forge Energy, and it can take a coolant for extra repair. Their quests are "Blazegold Anvil" quest, "Celestigem Anvil" quest and "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest.[4][5][6][18][20]
Goo upgrades and the Stabilizer
The goo quests pair each Just Dire Things goo block with a Just Dyna Things upgrader. They run from Goo Upgrader T1 through Goo Upgrader T2 to Goo Upgrader T3. They start at "Creating Blazegold" quest, continue with "Making Celestigems" quest and end at "Ore of the Eclipse" quest.[18]

Echoing Buddings
a quest in "Just Dire Things" asks for any one of the Time, Amethyst, Certus or Entro buddings, for example Echoing Budding Amethyst. The guide says buddings need Time Fluid (100mb/wk) and Energy (100fe/wk) to grow clusters.[8][18]

How does Just Dyna Things work?
7 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, so most of its machines run on Forge Energy (FE) and fluids, and a lot of them plug into Dire Things goo. Below is how each system behaves in this pack. I flag every value the pack changed from the mod default.[2][21]
Echoing buddings
Echoing buddings are a way to farm budding resources. According to the in-game guide they need Time Fluid and Energy to grow clusters, listed as 100 mB of fluid and 100 FE.[8]
In this pack's config, each budding uses 100 FE and 100 mB per tick and stores up to 10,000 FE and 10,000 mB. All four values match the mod defaults. The cost is applied as a chance when a cluster will grow, and a separate option controls the growth sound.[21]
Many of the budding recipes were changed by the pack. Echoing Budding Diamond is one of them, so use the recipe below.[20]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: justdynathings:echoing_budding_diamond
Goo, the Stabilizer and the Paradox Mixer
The mod adds new goo tiers. Energized Goo needs Forge Energy to stay alive and is tier 5. Creative Goo cannot die, is tier MAX, and can be toggled with any wrench.[10][22]
The four energy versions of the standard goos are Primogel (tier 1), Blazebloom (tier 2), VoidShimmer (tier 3) and ShadowPulse (tier 4). The pack's config keeps all of these tiers at their mod defaults, with a counter reducer of 15 on each. The generic energy goo setting uses 100 FE per tick with 10,000 FE of capacity. Options let the goo's tier scale both its capacity and its FE cost, and both are on.[21][23][24][25][26]
The Stabilizer revives any goo on top of it using Forge Energy. In the pack it uses 1,000 FE per tick and 100 mB per tick, and stores 10,000 FE and 1,000 mB. All of these are mod defaults.[11][21]
The Stabilizer also keeps a Paradox Mixer alive when it is energized with Time Fluid. The Paradox Mixer is an unstable block that mass-crafts fluid drop recipes, and it needs at least one energized Stabilizer nearby to stay alive. The pack raised the Paradox Mixer's fluid capacity to 4,000 mB, up from the mod default of 1,000.[11][21][27]
Ticker
The Ticker uses Time Fluid and Energy to speed up the block on its highlighted face. The guide lists a default of 16x. This pack set the max tick rate to 16, well below the mod default of 2,048.[21][28]
Power generation
The Thermo Generator makes Forge Energy from a heat source block plus a fluid coolant. The guide gives the formulas below and says they may be simplified in the future. In the pack its FE capacity is 1,000,000, the same as the mod default.[12][21]
Solar panels come in four tiers, each with its own conditions. The guide lists these as defaults and warns that everything can be changed in the configs. Only the Blazegold panel's settings are visible in the pack config I was given, so treat the other three as mod defaults.[13][14][19][21][29][30]
- Ferricore Solar Panel: 240 FE max rate. It needs the Overworld, a view of the sky and daytime.[19]
- Blazegold Solar Panel: 960 FE max rate. By default it works only in the Nether. The pack config keeps 960 FE per tick and 100,000 FE of storage, and the Y-level production reduction is off.[14][21]
- Celestigem Solar Panel: 3,840 FE max rate. It needs a view of the sky, and output rises the more solar panels are near each other.[29]
- Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel: 11,520 FE max rate. Nearby panels boost it, and high or low Y-levels raise the multiplier while middle Y-levels lower it.[30]
The Blazegold panel's biome tag list is set to whitelist mode in the pack. Setting it to false would turn it into a blacklist.[21]

Anvils
The More Anvils repair items without Experience. Each tier repairs with a different resource.[3]
- Ferricore Anvil: repairs tools using catalyst items.[7]
- Blazegold Anvil: repairs items using high temperature fluids.[4]
- Celestigem Anvil: repairs items using Forge Energy.[5]
- Eclipse Alloy Anvil: repairs with Forge Energy, and adding a coolant repairs by coolant-efficiency / 100 x total-damage. It can restore more than 1,000 per tick, or repair the item completely.[6]
The anvils upgrade in a chain. The Blazegold Anvil is crafted from the Ferricore Anvil.[20]

Utility blocks
- Blackhole: a universal trash can for energy and fluids. You can turn it off to store an abnormal amount of energy or fluid in a small space. In the pack, capacity and transfer are both 2,147,483,647, and it keeps its contents when redstone disables it.[15][21]
- Ferricore Clock: a redstone clock you program per side with a specific game tick. You can disable sides, such as north and up, to avoid powering things you don't want. The pack does not require a wrench to change a face state.[16][21]
- Phase Box: a block you toggle between solid and non-solid. Like the clock, it does not need a wrench in the pack.[17][21]
- Reforger: converts an input block placed on its red face into an output block at the cost of a catalyst. Conversions show up in JEI as block to block, block to tag and tag to block.[31][32]
Wands
The Advanced Time Wand has more capacity than the regular time wand and several click modes. The pack raised its fluid capacity to 8,000,000 mB, up from the mod default of 800,000. In the default modes, Speed 2x steps through 4, 16, 64 and 256, and Speed 4x steps through 16 and 256. Max Speed works 8x, so it comes out at 256x every time. The guide says the modes can be changed or disabled in the config.[21][33]
The Advanced Light Wand works like the Light Wand but consumes FE on every use. The plain Light Wand places and breaks light blocks, can apply Glowing to the entity you look at, and loses durability when used.[34][35]
The Picker Wand picks up a block so you can place it elsewhere, and the Swapper Wand swaps one block for another without removing it from the world. The Temporal Stupefy Wand removes TimeWand entities and applies a short stupefy effect.[36][37][38]
How do you progress through Just Dyna Things?
5 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for JustDireThings, and in this pack its progression lives in the quest chapter called just_dire_things. The quests climb four material tiers: Ferricore, Blazegold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy. Many quests in the chapter unlock after one shared entry quest, so you can pick and choose, but the tiered lines below chain into each other.[2][18]
The anvil line
The anvils are the clearest tier ladder. The quests go "Ferricore Anvil" quest for the Ferricore Anvil, then "Blazegold Anvil" quest for the Blazegold Anvil, then "Celestigem Anvil" quest for the Celestigem Anvil, and finally "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest for the Eclipse Alloy Anvil. All of them repair stuff without spending experience.[3][18]
Each anvil above the first is made from the previous tier's anvil. You can craft it at a crafting table, or use a smithing table with the matching tier template. Every anvil also has a shapeless recipe that clears its stored data.[20]
- Ferricore Anvil: repairs tools using catalysts.[7]
- Blazegold Anvil: repairs items using high temperature fluids.[4]
- Celestigem Anvil: repairs items using Forge Energy (FE).[5]
- Eclipse Alloy Anvil: repairs with FE like the Celestigem Anvil, and can also take a coolant that makes it repair based on the coolant's efficiency.[6]

Solar panels
The solar panels climb the same ladder, with a quest for each: "Ferricore Solar Panel" quest for the Ferricore Solar Panel, "Blazegold Solar Panel" quest for the Blazegold Solar Panel, "Celestigem Solar Panel" quest for the Celestigem Solar Panel, and "Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel" quest for the Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel. Higher panels can also be made by upgrading the previous panel at a smithing table.[18][20]
The Ferricore Solar Panel recipe is changed by the pack, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's default. Use the one below.[20]

The in-game guide lists the Blazegold Solar Panel with a default max rate of 960 FE and a Nether-only condition. The Celestigem Solar Panel has a default max rate of 3,840 FE, needs to see the sky, and produces more when other solar panels are nearby. These are the mod's defaults, and the guide itself warns that everything can be changed in configs.[14][29]
Goo tiers and upgraders
The goo line runs through three chained quests. "Creating Blazegold" quest has you bring a tier 2 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T1 and raw Blazegold. "Making Celestigems" quest moves up to tier 3 with the Goo Upgrader T2 and Celestigem. "Ore of the Eclipse" quest finishes at tier 4 with the Goo Upgrader T3 and raw Eclipse Alloy.[18]

The mod also adds energy versions of the goo for tiers 1 through 4. The Energized Goo itself is tier 5 and needs Forge Energy to stay alive.[10][23][24][25][26]
The Stabilizer
After the tier 4 goo quest comes "Stabilizer" quest for the Stabilizer. The pack adds its own recipe for it. A Stabilizer revives goo on top of it using FE, and an energized one can keep a Paradox Mixer alive.[11][18][20][27]

Other quests worth knowing
The rest of the chapter is single-item quests, and you can take them in whatever order suits your base.[18]
- "Swapper Wand" quest is the Swapper Wand, and "Picker Wand" quest is the Picker Wand. The Picker Wand recipe is changed by the pack.[18][20]
- "Thermo Generator" quest is the Thermo Generator, which makes FE from a heat source block plus a fluid coolant. The guide gives FE generated as 125 x CoolantEfficiency x HeatEfficiency.[12][18]
- "Blackhole" quest is the Blackhole, the universal trash can. Turned off, it can store a large amount of energy or fluid in a small space.[15][18]
- "Phase Box" quest is the Phase Box, a block whose solid state you can toggle on and off.[17][18]
- "Ferricore Clock" quest is the Ferricore Clock, a redstone clock where you can configure each side.[16][18]
- a quest in "Just Dire Things" accepts any one of the Echoing Budding Time, Echoing Budding Amethyst, Echoing Budding Certus or Echoing Budding Entro. The Certus and Entro recipes are changed by the pack.[18][20]
How does Just Dyna Things work with other mods?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things is an addon for Just Dire Things, and the pack's recipes show it. Most of what you craft is built from Just Dire Things materials: Ferricore, Blazegold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy. A few recipes also reach into GeOre and the pack's own FTB items.[2][20]
The anvil and solar panel ladders
The four anvils form an upgrade ladder: Ferricore Anvil, Blazegold Anvil, Celestigem Anvil and Eclipse Alloy Anvil. The pack's quest chapter follows the same order, starting with "Ferricore Anvil" quest, then "Blazegold Anvil" quest, "Celestigem Anvil" quest and "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest.[18][20]

The anvils repair in different ways. The Ferricore one uses catalysts, the Blazegold one uses high temperature fluids, and the Celestigem one uses Forge Energy. The Eclipse Alloy one also uses Forge Energy and can take a coolant on top.[4][5][6][7]
The solar panels climb the same ladder, with a Ferricore, Blazegold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy version of each. Each tier pulls in a different tier of Just Dire Things coal, and each also has a smithing upgrade from the previous panel. The pack has changed the Ferricore panel recipe, so go by this one rather than the mod's default. Quests cover them too: "Ferricore Solar Panel" quest, "Blazegold Solar Panel" quest, "Celestigem Solar Panel" quest and "Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel" quest.[18][20]

Goo upgraders and the Creative Goo route
The three Goo Upgraders are built on Just Dire Things' Upgrade: Blank. The quests pair them with the matching goo tier. "Creating Blazegold" quest pairs Goo Upgrader T1 with Blazebloom Goo, "Making Celestigems" quest pairs Goo Upgrader T2 with VoidShimmer Goo, and "Ore of the Eclipse" quest pairs Goo Upgrader T3 with Shadowpulse Goo.[18][20]
The pack adds its own recipe for the Stabilizer, which mixes Just Dire Things parts into a Just Dyna Things item. It unlocks after the third goo quest, through "Stabilizer" quest.[18][20]

Echoing Buddings, GeOre and the AE mods
Echoing Buddings let you farm budding resources. They need Time Fluid and energy to grow clusters. For the GeOre versions, such as Echoing Budding Iron, the pack has changed the recipe, and the example below shows the exact one.[8][20]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: justdynathings:echoing_budding_iron

Echoing Budding Certus and Echoing Budding Entro take any block from an item tag for Applied Energistics 2 and Extended AE buddings, and the pack has changed both recipes. Echoing Budding Amethyst takes any amethyst block, and Echoing Budding Time takes any block from a time budding tag. a quest in "Just Dire Things" accepts any one of these four.[8][18][20]
Wands and machines
Several tools also build on Just Dire Things gear. The Advanced Time Wand, the Ticker and the Paradox Mixer all use Just Dire Things items in their recipes. The pack has changed the Picker Wand recipe.[20]

Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Just Dyna Things?
4 parts
All of this mod's quests live in a single chapter, called just_dire_things. Every quest in it is untitled, so you'll recognise them by the item they ask for. Each one is an item-submission quest.[18]
Starter quests
Seven quests unlock straight after the chapter's opening quest, so you can do them in any order. Each asks you to have one item: the Swapper Wand ("Swapper Wand" quest), the Thermo Generator ("Thermo Generator" quest), the Blackhole ("Blackhole" quest), the Picker Wand ("Picker Wand" quest), the Phase Box ("Phase Box" quest) and the Ferricore Clock ("Ferricore Clock" quest).[18]
The seventh, a quest in "Just Dire Things", accepts any one of four items: Echoing Budding Time, Echoing Budding Amethyst, Echoing Budding Certus or Echoing Budding Entro.[18]
The goo upgrader line
This is a straight chain, and each quest unlocks the next. Every step asks for three items at once: a goo block, a goo upgrader and a raw metal or gem.[18]
- "Creating Blazegold" quest asks for a tier 2 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T1 and raw blazegold.[18]
- "Making Celestigems" quest asks for a tier 3 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T2 and celestigem.[18]
- "Ore of the Eclipse" quest asks for a tier 4 goo block, the Goo Upgrader T3 and raw eclipse alloy.[18]
- "Stabilizer" quest asks for the Stabilizer and comes after the tier 4 step.[18]
The anvil line
The anvils form another chain, one metal tier at a time. The first anvil quest also needs a second prerequisite quest, which is not part of the quests listed here.[18]
- "Ferricore Anvil" quest: the Ferricore Anvil.[18]
- "Blazegold Anvil" quest: the Blazegold Anvil.[18]
- "Celestigem Anvil" quest: the Celestigem Anvil.[18]
- "Eclipse Alloy Anvil" quest: the Eclipse Alloy Anvil.[18]
Solar panels
The four solar panel quests each follow their own prerequisite rather than one another. In the same four tiers, they ask for the Ferricore Solar Panel ("Ferricore Solar Panel" quest), the Blazegold Solar Panel ("Blazegold Solar Panel" quest), the Celestigem Solar Panel ("Celestigem Solar Panel" quest) and the Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel ("Eclipse Alloy Solar Panel" quest). The prerequisites for the last three are quests not listed in this chapter's data, so I can't say where they sit in the questbook.[18]
Unverified The quest data doesn't show rewards or descriptions for any of these quests, so check the in-game questbook for what each one gives you.
Which Just Dyna Things config options matter?
4 parts
Just Dyna Things has a lot of options. Every option that lists a mod default in this pack's config matches it, except three. The same three changes show up in both the common and the server config files.[21][39]
What the pack changed
- 9-ticker.ticker_max_tick_rate is 16 in this pack. The mod default is 2,048, so the Ticker is capped far lower here than in a stock install.[21][39]
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_max_fluid_storage is 8,000,000 mB in this pack, up from the mod default of 800,000.[21][39]
- 8-paradox_mixer.paradox_mixer_max_fluid_storage is 4,000 mB in this pack, up from the mod default of 1,000.[21][39]
Solar panel conditions
The solar panels use their normal FE/t output in this pack: 240 for Ferricore, 960 for Blazegold, 3,840 for Celestigem and 11,520 for Eclipse Alloy. What differs between tiers is the conditions each panel has to meet.[21][39]
- The Ferricore panel needs daytime (5-solar_panel.ferricore_solar_panel_require_dayTime) and a view of the sky (5-solar_panel.ferricore_solar_panel_require_to_see_sky).[21][39]
- The Blazegold panel has the daytime, sky and output-reduction conditions all turned off in this pack.[21][39]
- The Celestigem panel needs to see the sky, and it reduces its output when placed alone (5-solar_panel.celestigem_solar_panel_reduce_production_when_placed_alone).[21][39]
- The Eclipse Alloy panel has no daytime or sky requirement. It does reduce its production based on Y level (5-solar_panel.eclipse_alloy_solar_panel_reduce_production_at_y_level) and when placed alone.[21][39]
Wands
- 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_max_multiplier is 256, the max speed the Advanced Time Wand can apply.[21][39]
- The Advanced Time Wand modes are set by 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_normal (1), 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_x2 (2), 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_x4 (4) and 7-wands.advanced_time_wand_mode_max (8).[21][39]
- 7-wands.light_wand_glowing_duration is 200. The config notes that 20 is 1 second.[21]
- 7-wands.advanced_light_wand_glowing_duration is 800.[21][39]
Fake players can use the Light Wand and the Advanced Time Wand. The Picker Wand (7-wands.picker_wand_allow_fakeplayer) and Swapper Wand (7-wands.swapper_wand_allow_fakeplayer) are set to false in this pack, so fake players can't use them.[21]
Small quality-of-life options
- 2-blocks.phase_box_require_wrench and 2-blocks.ferricore_clock_require_wrench are both false, so you don't need a wrench to change their state.[21][39]
- 2-blocks.blackhole_keep_content is true, so the Blackhole keeps its stored contents when redstone disables it.[21][39]
