What is Create: Dragons Plus?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon that adds convenient features for players, plus dev utilities for other Create addon authors. As a player, you'll mostly care about the first part: it gives your Encased Fans new jobs and makes tank handling easier.[1]
This pack ships version 1.11.7b, and the mod has been in the pack since 2.47 or earlier.[2]
What it adds
- Bulk Coloring: use Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1]
- Bulk Freezing: use Powder Snow with an Encased Fan to freeze items.[1]
- Bulk Ending: use a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath (fluid) with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
- Bulk Sanding: use Quicksand with an Encased Fan to polish items. It supports all Sand Paper polishing recipes. Since version 1.8.5, Quicksand is no longer required if the Bulk Sanding block tag contains any block.[1]
- Fluid Hatch: works like the Item Hatch, but gives you convenient take and deposit operations on Fluid Tanks.[1]
Who it's for
If you already run Create and want to process items in bulk with fans instead of one at a time, this mod is for you. It's also handy if you want simpler fluid tank access.[1]
The mod also has optional integrations with other mods, such as Create: Simulated, Create: Granished, Create: Dreams & Desires, The Aether, Dye Depot, Dyenamics, Arts & Crafts and Ars Nouveau. Each one only matters if that mod is installed. Its features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces them on or off.[1]
Unverified The sources don't show any quests for this mod, any role on the ATM Star path, or an in-game guidebook. They also don't confirm which of the integration mods are in this pack, or whether the pack changed any of the mod's configs or recipes.
How do you get started with Create: Dragons Plus?
4 parts
Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon built around Encased Fan tricks and a handy tank add-on. Here is a sensible order to try things in. Every recipe below is one the pack has changed, so the recipe blocks show the pack's version.[1][3]
Start with the Fluid Hatch
The Fluid Hatch is the easiest first win. It makes a fluid tank easy to use with held fluid containers: you can deposit fluid from your held item into the tank it is placed on, or pull stored fluid out with empty fluid containers.[1][4]
Crafting Shapeless
- any copper ingot
Item Drain
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch
Get Dragon's Breath as a fluid
Bulk Ending needs either a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath in fluid form. The pack has an emptying recipe that turns the bottled breath into Dragon's Breath and gives you the glass bottle back.[1][3]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
Once an Encased Fan's air flow passes through Dragon's Breath or a Dragon Head, it creates an Ending Setup that infuses items with energy from The End.[1][4]
Mix your dyes
Bulk Coloring uses the mod's Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. The pack has a Create mixing recipe for every dye color, each combining the matching vanilla dye with water. Here is red as an example. The other colors follow the same pattern, such as Blue Dye and Lime Dye.[1][3]
Mixing (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item
When an air flow passes through the liquid dye, it creates a Coloring Setup. It works automatically with certain crafting recipes that use dyes, and it can also change the color of entities and the armor they wear.[1][4]
Other Bulk setups to know about
- Bulk Freezing: air flowing through Powder Snow freezes items.[1][4]
- Bulk Sanding: air flowing through a Bulk Sanding catalyst, such as Quicksand, polishes items. It is automatically compatible with Sand Paper sanding recipes.[1][4]
How does Create: Dragons Plus work?
6 parts
Most of what this mod adds revolves around Encased Fans. You point a fan's air flow through a special fluid or block, and that turns the air into a processing setup for the items (and sometimes entities) it passes over. On top of that you get a few fluids and a handy Fluid Hatch for tanks.[1][4]
Bulk processing with fans
- Bulk Coloring: air flowing through liquid dye creates a coloring setup. It is automatically compatible with certain crafting recipes that use dyes, the same way Bulk Blasting and Bulk Smoking work. It can also change the color of entities, and equipped armor gets colored too.[1][4]
- Bulk Freezing: air flowing through powder snow creates a freezing setup.[1][4]
- Bulk Ending: air flowing through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath creates an ending setup, which infuses items with energy from The End.[1][4]
- Bulk Sanding: air flowing through a Bulk Sanding catalyst, for example quicksand, creates a sanding setup. It is automatically compatible with Sand Paper sanding recipes.[1][4]
All four are switched on in this pack: recipes.enableBulkColoring, recipes.enableBulkEnding, recipes.enableBulkFreezing and recipes.enableBulkSanding are all set to true.[1][4][5]
For sanding, the pack also has the generated Sand Paper polishing recipes enabled for oxidized, polished and waxed blocks, through features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/oxidized_blocks, features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/polished_blocks and features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/waxed_blocks.[6]
Dye fluids
Dye fluids are enabled in the pack via features.fluid.fluid/dye. Each color has its own mixing recipe that turns the matching dye item into the fluid, and the recipe dump marks these recipes as changed by the pack. Here is the red one as an example, and the other colors follow the same pattern.[3][6]
Mixing (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item
Every dye color has a matching mixing recipe in the pack, all marked as changed by the pack.
When dye fluid meets lava, the mod can generate colored concrete. The pack has features.fluid.fluid/dye/lava_interaction_generate_colored_concrete set to true, so this is on.[6]
Dragon's Breath
The Dragon's Breath fluid is enabled through features.fluid.fluid/dragon_breath. You can get it by emptying a bottle of Dragon's Breath, and the recipe dump marks that emptying recipe as changed by the pack.[3][6]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
The pack also has features.recipe.recipe/automatic_brewing/dragon_breath enabled, so automated brewing recipes for the fluid are generated. The mod's project page adds that the Containment Jar from Ars Nouveau produces Dragon's Breath.[1][6]
Fluid Hatch
The Fluid Hatch makes a tank easy to use with fluid containers. When it is placed on a tank, it deposits fluid from the item you are holding into the tank. It can also pull stored fluid out of the tank into empty fluid containers. The block is enabled in the pack via features.block.block/fluid_hatch.[4][6]
The pack changed its crafting recipe, so check this one instead of relying on what you remember from the mod's defaults.[3]
Crafting Shapeless
- any copper ingot
Item Drain
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch
Create: Simulated integration
The mod has extra features that tie into the Create: Simulated series. Bulk Processing air currents from a Simulated Contraption can interact with blocks, and Fragile Fluid Tanks break on impact and apply the fluid's effect to the surroundings. In this pack, features.recipe.fluid/air_current_block_interaction and features.recipe.fluid/fragile_fluid_tank are both set to true.[1][4][6]
Disabled in the pack
The Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template is turned off here: features.item.item/blaze_upgrade_smithing_template is set to false.[6]
How do you progress through Create: Dragons Plus?
3 parts
The sources for this mod in the pack only cover its recipes, so this section walks through those rather than a tier ladder. Every recipe below is marked as changed by the pack, so use the recipe blocks here instead of what you remember from the mod's defaults.[3]
Fluid Hatch
The Fluid Hatch is a shapeless crafting recipe in this pack, and the pack has changed it.[3]
Crafting Shapeless
- any copper ingot
Item Drain
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch
Shapeless crafting recipe, changed by the pack.
Dragon's Breath
Dragon's Breath comes from a Create emptying recipe, which the pack has also changed. The recipe gives you a glass bottle back along with the fluid.[3]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
Create emptying recipe, changed by the pack.
Dyes
The mod adds its own version of each dye colour, from White Dye to Black Dye, including Red Dye, Blue Dye and Lime Dye. Each one has its own Create mixing recipe, and the pack has changed all of them. The red and blue recipes below serve as examples, and the other colours follow the same pattern.[3]

How does Create: Dragons Plus work with other mods?
2 parts
A couple of in-pack recipes link Create: Dragons Plus with items from other mods: one gives you a fan catalyst, and the other is the crafting recipe for a Dragons Plus block that builds on a base Create item. The pack changed both recipes, so don't assume they match the mod defaults.[3]
Fan Ending Catalyst
The Fan Ending Catalyst with Dragon's Breath is made from an Empty Fan Catalyst and a Dragon's Breath Bucket with an item application recipe. This is where Dragons Plus' Dragon's Breath meets the fan catalyst items. Check the recipe below for exactly what the pack asks for.[3]
Item Application (create)
Recipe id: create_connected:item_application/ending_catalyst_dragons_breath_from_empty
Item application recipe, changed by the pack.
On the Dragons Plus side, the project page says Bulk Ending uses Dragon's Breath as a fluid, or a Dragon Head, with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
Fluid Hatch and Create's Item Drain
The Fluid Hatch has a shapeless crafting recipe that connects it to Create's Item Drain, and the pack changed that recipe. The project page describes the hatch as working like the Item Hatch, giving you a convenient way to take fluid from and deposit fluid into Fluid Tanks.[1][3]

Which Create: Dragons Plus config options matter?
3 parts
Create: Dragons Plus has client, common and server config files in this pack. Most of what you'll care about is simple on/off switches for its features, and the pack leaves nearly all of them on. The exception is the Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template.[5][6][7]
Client: seeing through fluids
The client options scale how far you can see while looking through the mod's fluids: dragonBreathVisionMultiplier for Dragon's Breath and dyeVisionMultiplier for Dye Fluids. The pack sets both to 1, which is also the mod default, so nothing is changed here. Each option accepts values from 1.0 to 256.0.[7]
Server: bulk processing
The server file has a switch for each bulk fan processing type the mod adds: coloring, ending, freezing and sanding. The pack has every one of them set to true, so they are all active.[1][5]
- recipes.enableBulkColoring is true, so Bulk Coloring is enabled.[5]
- recipes.enableBulkEnding is true, so Bulk Ending is enabled.[5]
- recipes.enableBulkFreezing is true, so Bulk Freezing is enabled.[5]
- recipes.enableBulkSanding is true, so Bulk Sanding is enabled.[5]
Common: feature toggles
The common file decides which blocks, fluids, items and generated recipes exist. Here is how the pack sets them.[6]
- features.block.block/fluid_hatch is true, so the Fluid Hatch is available.[6]
- features.fluid.fluid/dragon_breath and features.fluid.fluid/dye are both true, so Dragon's Breath and the Dye Fluids are enabled.[6]
- features.fluid.fluid/dye/lava_interaction_generate_colored_concrete is true, so colored concrete is generated when a Dye Fluid meets Lava.[6]
- features.item.item/blaze_upgrade_smithing_template is false, so the Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template is disabled in this pack. Don't go looking for it.[6]
- features.recipe.recipe/automatic_brewing/dragon_breath is true, so automated brewing recipes for Dragon's Breath Fluid are generated.[6]
- The Sand Paper polishing recipe generators for oxidized, polished and waxed blocks (features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/oxidized_blocks, features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/polished_blocks and features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/waxed_blocks) are all true.[6]
- The options labelled as sable integration, features.recipe.fluid/air_current_block_interaction for block interaction of air current through fluid and features.recipe.fluid/fragile_fluid_tank for the Fragile Fluid Tank, are both true.[6]
What changed in Create: Dragons Plus between versions?
4 parts
FTB Skies 2 1.18.0 ships Create: Dragons Plus 1.10.1. The pack file says the mod was first included in FTB Skies 2 1.0.1 or earlier. The changes below come from the mod's own changelogs, and I only have them for some releases, so this is a partial history.[8]
1.10.1 (the version in this pack)
- The Sable Integration feature setting moved to the Global Feature setting, which should prevent some loading issues. Sable Integration now loads with Sable instead of Create Aeronautics.[9]
- Fixed: when paired with Supplementaries, coloring sand turned it into suspicious sand with the dye inside.[9]
- Fixed: a Potion from Immersive Engineering could not be taken out via the Fluid Hatch.[9]
- Fixed a crash with Sable only, a KubeJS related error, floor differences in vanilla Create Ponder scenes, and a JEI Sanding category icon error caused by Quicksand lacking an item model for its block.[9]
- Added Bulgarian localization and updated the French one.[9]
1.10.0b
This release was an update for Create 6.0.10. If you use Create: Simulated, the changelog says to update it to at least 1.1.0. It also fixed the crafting recipe of the Fragile Fluid Tank.[10]
1.8.x releases
- 1.8.7 (for Create 6.0.9): fixed a crash when pondering the encased fan with Bulk Sanding in certain situations.[11]
- 1.8.6 (for Create 6.0.9): added the item tag not_applicable_for_coloring, which stops specific items from being bulk colored.[12]
- 1.8.6 also fixed encased fan ponder crashes, both with Dreams and Desires and without Quicksand, and with Oreganized at bulk freezing. It also fixed an infinite fluid dupe when the Fluid Hatch interacted with Mekanism's fluid tanks.[12]
- 1.8.5: Bulk Sanding no longer needs Quicksand (neoforge) as a hard requirement. It activates when Quicksand is installed, C:DnD is installed, or the Bulk Sanding block tag contains a block. The recipe format was also updated for compatibility with a new version of KubeJS-Create.[13]
- 1.8.1: fixed the Break Fan Catalyst tags of Create: Dreams & Desires, so Catalyst Sails should now work correctly.[14]
- 1.8.0b: added PT_BR localization.[15]
Earlier
1.6.1 fixed the Blaze Block not rendering its rods correctly.[16]
