What is Apotheosis?
2 parts
Apotheosis is the RPG-style gear mod in the pack, and this pack runs version 8.5.2. Its main feature is Affixes: bonuses that attach to any item you find, vanilla or modded, a bit like enchantments but with their own rules. Each affix item has a Rarity that decides which affixes it gets and how strong they are.[1][2][3]
The Adventure Module lets you gear up with procedurally generated loot, but new foes show up too. The mod is split into modules: Apothic Attributes, Apothic Spawners, Apothic Enchanting and the adventure module itself. Together they overhaul enchanting and let you move and modify mob spawners.[1][4][5][6]
It's for you if you want RPG-like progression that doesn't take over the game. Gear gets stronger, and the world pushes back. World Tiers, which you open with CTRL+T by default, raise the difficulty of every enemy in your world and improve your loot. There are five tiers, from Haven to Pinnacle, and Summit only opens after you slay the Wither.[1][7]
The core loop
You find affix items in loot chests and as drops from mobs. Break them down in the Salvaging Table to get Rarity Materials, then spend those at a reforging table to make new affix items. Reforging also needs Gem Dust and a fuel item, the Sigil of Rebirth. Gems go into sockets for extra bonuses. The Sigil of Socketing adds a socket, and the Sigil of Withdrawal takes a gem back out.[1][8][9]
Start with the Simple Reforging Table, which handles items up to Rare. For Epic and above you upgrade it into a Reforging Table. At the very end of the road, the Augmenting Table lets you upgrade or reroll single affixes. It's built from a Nether Star and two Godforged Pearls on an Enchanting Table, and it runs on Sigil of Enhancement.[8][10]
Where it fits in the pack's progression
The quest book walks you through the mod in the gearing_up chapter. Everything branches off one starting quest:[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for Gem Dust and unlocks the rest of the Apotheosis quests.[11]
- After that you get the Gem Cutting Table (a quest in "?"), the Simple Reforging Table (a quest in "?"), and the Sigil of Unnaming (a quest in "?"). The Sigil of Withdrawal (a quest in "?") and Sigil of Socketing (a quest in "?") follow too.[11]
- The Salvaging Table quest (a quest in "?") also needs any one Rarity Material.[11]
- The Reforging Table and Sigil of Rebirth (a quest in "?") unlock after the Simple Reforging Table quest.[11]
- The Augmenting Table and Sigil of Enhancement (a quest in "?") unlock after the Salvaging Table quest.[11]
How do you get started with Apotheosis?
7 parts
Apotheosis is all about affix items, gear with extra bonuses, and the gems you socket into them. In this pack the early game follows a simple loop: find gems and affix items, break them down, then use the results to build your crafting stations. The pack's quest chapter "gearing_up" walks you through it, and this section follows the same order.[1][3][11]
Step 1: Get your first Gem Dust
Gem Dust is the base of almost everything you'll build next, and it is the first task in the chain (quest a quest in "?"). You get it by crushing Apothic Gems. Gems turn up in chest loot and rarely drop from mobs, and they drop more often from bosses.[11][12][13]
Your first two dust have to come from an anvil crushing two gems in the world. After that you can switch to the Salvaging Table, which you'll build in step 4.[1][12]
Step 2: Make Gem-Fused Slate
Gem-Fused Slate is an ingredient in every sigil recipe in this pack, and in the smithing templates too, so you'll want a stack of it.[14]
Step 3: Gem Cutting Table
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity, and JEI shows the exact cost. The quest for it is a quest in "?".[11][15]

Step 4: Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials, and it also turns gems into Gem Dust. Its quest, a quest in "?", asks you to craft it and to obtain a Rarity Material. Which material you get depends on the rarity of the item you salvage: apotheosis:common_material from common items up to apotheosis:mythic_material from mythic ones.[9][11][12]

Step 5: Simple Reforging Table
The Simple Reforging Table lets you reforge items up to Rare rarity, and it works on any valid item, even one with no affixes yet. Reforging uses Rarity Materials, Gem Dust and Sigils of Rebirth as fuel. The quest is a quest in "?".[8][11]

Step 6: The early sigils
Three sigils unlock right after Gem Dust, each with its own quest:[11]
- Sigil of Socketing (a quest in "?") gives a socket to an item that doesn't have one.[1][11]
- Sigil of Withdrawal (a quest in "?") removes socketed gems when combined with the item in a smithing table. The item and all its gems are returned.[11][13]
- Sigil of Unnaming (a quest in "?") is also part of the chain. The sources don't say what it does, so check its tooltip in game.[11]

Later: Reforging Table and Augmenting Table
Once you're hitting Epic gear, upgrade your Simple Reforging Table into the Reforging Table, which is needed for Epic rarity and above. Its quest, a quest in "?", also wants a Sigil of Rebirth.[8][11][14]

The Augmenting Table is an end-game station that upgrades or rerolls single affixes. It runs on Sigil of Enhancement, and both are required for a quest in "?". It's best saved for Mythic items, and maybe Epic ones.[10][11]

How does Apotheosis work?
5 parts
Apotheosis doesn't have machines in the usual modded sense. Its core systems are a handful of crafting stations, and several of them run on special fuel items called sigils. Here's how each one works in this pack.[8][10]
Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials. Each rarity gives its own material: common gives apotheosis:common_material, uncommon gives apotheosis:uncommon_material, rare gives apotheosis:rare_material, epic gives apotheosis:epic_material, and mythic gives apotheosis:mythic_material.[9][14][16]
It also turns gems into Gem Dust. In this pack's recipe dump, every gem purity (cracked, chipped, flawed, normal, flawless and perfect) salvages into Gem Dust. You can't use the table for your very first dust, though. For that you drop an Apothic Gem into the world and make an anvil fall on it. After that, the Salvaging Table takes over.[12][14][16]

Reforging
Reforging gives an item brand new affixes, and it works on any valid item, not just ones that already have affixes. You can reforge the same item multiple times. The Simple Reforging Table handles items up to Rare. For Epic or higher you need to upgrade it into the Reforging Table.[8]
- The center slot holds the item you want to reforge.[8]
- The top-left slot holds Rarity Materials for the rarity you want to reforge with.[8]
- The bottom-right slot holds Sigil of Rebirth, the fuel for reforging.[8][14][16]
Like an Enchanting Table, reforging offers three choices, and none is inherently stronger than the others. Each rarity has a base cost in experience, sigils and materials. The extra choice slots charge double and triple that base cost. The guide also notes that modpacks can change the costs or prevent reforging at certain rarities.[8]

Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is the end-game station for working on individual affixes without touching the rest of the item. The upper slot holds an affix item (the guide suggests Mythic, or possibly Epic), and the lower slot holds Sigil of Enhancement as fuel. You then pick the affix from the drop-down menu.[10]
- Upgrading costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises the affix's internal strength by 25%. How much that helps depends on the affix.[10]
- Rerolling costs one Sigil of Enhancement and swaps the selected affix for another of the same type. The alternatives are shown on the left.[10]

Gem Cutting and the Gem Case
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. Stronger gems cost more Gem Dust and higher-tier materials, and a Perfect gem can't be upgraded any further. JEI shows the exact cost of each upgrade.[13][15]

The Gem Case stores gems, holding up to thirty two thousand of each type and purity, and it can be upgraded to hold more. It has a name filter and an item filter, so you can search by gem name or by which item a gem fits. Its six auxiliary slots hold upgrade materials, so you can upgrade gems right inside the case, which effectively obsoletes the Gem Cutting Table.[17]
For a much bigger store, the Gem Case of House Fabergé has a storage capacity of two billion. You can't craft it directly. It's made through Infusion Enchanting, using a Gem Case as the input.[14][17]

Sockets and sigils
You socket a gem with a Smithing Table, putting the item on the left and the gem on the right. Each gem lists the items it fits, and some gems are Unique, meaning only one copy can sit in a given item.[13][16]
- Sigil of Socketing adds one socket to an item.[14][16]
- Sigil of Withdrawal removes the socketed gems when you combine it with the item in a smithing table. The item and all the gems are returned.[13]
- Sigil of Unnaming removes the affixed name from an item when used in a smithing table.[14][16]

How do you progress through Apotheosis?
5 parts
Apotheosis progression in the pack runs on two tracks. World Tiers make the world tougher and the loot better, and the gearing_up quest chapter walks you through the crafting stations. You can work on both at once.[11][18]
World Tiers
A World Tier is a per-player strength modifier. Each tier changes what content shows up, how strong enemies are and what bonuses you can get. There are five: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. Higher tiers make higher-rarity items and Invaders more common, and they adjust which gems and gem purities can spawn.[18]
- Haven is enabled by default, but you won't see it until you've picked up your first Affix Item.[19]
- Frontier: equip an Affix Item in each armor slot and hold an Affixed Weapon in either hand.[19]
- Ascent: equip a full set of Uncommon Affix Items, including a weapon, and slay an Apothic Invader.[19]
- Summit: get a full set of Rare Affix Items and slay the Wither.[19]
- Pinnacle: get a full set of Epic items and slay the Ender Dragon.[19]
Unlocking a tier isn't enough on its own. Open the World Tier Select screen (CTRL+T by default), click the tier's symbol and press Activate. You can switch tiers whenever you like. In multiplayer, each player can sit on a different tier.[20]
The gearing_up quest path
The Apotheosis quests in the gearing_up chapter all hang off one gate: submitting Gem Dust in a quest in "?". Once that's done, the rest of the chain opens up. The pack also has salvaging recipes that turn gems of every purity (chipped through perfect) into Gem Dust.[11][14]
Gem Dust is also the base of most of the crafts that follow. Here is the Gem-Fused Slate, which the sigils and smithing templates build on.[14]
After the Gem Dust quest, six quests unlock at the same time, so you can take them in any order:[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Gem Cutting Table.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Simple Reforging Table. It leads on to a quest in "?", which asks for the Reforging Table and the Sigil of Rebirth.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Salvaging Table plus any one of the five rarity materials. It leads on to a quest in "?", which asks for the Augmenting Table and the Sigil of Enhancement.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Sigil of Unnaming.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Sigil of Withdrawal.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Sigil of Socketing.[11]
Material tiers
The salvaging recipes have one output per rarity: apotheosis:common_material (Common), apotheosis:uncommon_material (Uncommon), apotheosis:rare_material (Rare), apotheosis:epic_material (Epic) and apotheosis:mythic_material (Mythic). These materials gate the later stations. The Smithing Templates step up through the lower materials, and the Reforging Table and Augmenting Table sit at the top of the chain.[14]

End-game: the Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is the end-game station for upgrading or rerolling single affixes while leaving the rest of the item alone. It's best used on Mythic items, though Epic ones are worth considering too. An upgrade costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises the affix's internal strength by 25%. A reroll costs one Sigil and swaps the affix for another of the same type.[10]
Enchanting Table levels
Separate from gear, your Enchanting Table has its own level ladder, and each step needs a new kind of shelf:[21][22][23][24]
- Level 30: the usual way, with fifteen bookshelves.[21]
- Level 45: Hellshelves, or Seashelves if you'd rather skip the Nether.[22]
- Level 60: infuse and upgrade your shelves through Infusion Enchanting.[22]
- Level 70: a Deepshelf, which needs a Level 60 table and access to Deepslate.[23]
- Level 75: upgraded Deepshelves, using Echo Shards from the Ancient City and Sculk collected with Silk Touch.[23]
- Level 80: slay the Warden to craft Sculkshelves.[23]
- Level 90: a Level 80 table and Infused Dragon's Breath, for Endshelves.[24]
- Level 100: a Draconic Endshelf, which needs a Dragon Head from the outer End. It gives no other stat bonuses.[24]
How does Apotheosis work with other mods?
3 parts
In this pack, Apotheosis items turn up in recipes from other mods, so Gem Dust and the rarity materials are worth more than reforging fuel. Everything below comes from in-pack recipes.[14]
Gate Pearls for Gateways
The Gate Pearl has three tiered recipes registered under the Apotheosis namespace: ascent, summit and pinnacle. The pack changed all three. Each one draws on Apotheosis items, and the pinnacle recipe also takes items from Apothic Enchanting.[14]

Dissolved Potential
Gem Dust is also an input for Dissolved Potential. The pack added this recipe to the Industrial Foregoing dissolution chamber. It also takes items from Malum, Oritech and Powah, so one result pulls from several mods.[14]

Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Apotheosis?
3 parts
Every Apotheosis quest in the sources sits in the "gearing_up" chapter. None of them has a title in the quest file, so you'll recognise them by their ids and by the item they ask for. Each one is an item-submission quest.[11]
The starting point
Everything branches from a quest in "?", which asks for Gem Dust. It unlocks after two other quests that aren't covered here. Once it's done, five Apotheosis quests open up at the same time.[11]
What opens after Gem Dust
- a quest in "?" asks for the Gem Cutting Table.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Simple Reforging Table.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Sigil of Unnaming.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Sigil of Withdrawal.[11]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Sigil of Socketing.[11]
- a quest in "?" has two tasks. You need the Salvaging Table, plus one rarity material: apotheosis:common_material, apotheosis:uncommon_material, apotheosis:rare_material, apotheosis:epic_material or apotheosis:mythic_material.[11]
The two follow-up quests
Two quests sit one step further down. After the Simple Reforging Table quest, a quest in "?" asks for the Reforging Table and the Sigil of Rebirth.[11]
After the Salvaging Table quest, a quest in "?" asks for the Augmenting Table and the Sigil of Enhancement.[11]
Which Apotheosis config options matter?
2 parts
The Apotheosis config files this pack shows are all about its tower structures: the main, leaf, sand and spruce towers. Here is how the pack sets them.[25][26]
Tower toggles
Every tower type is switched on in this pack. tower_main.tower_main, tower_leaf.tower_leaf, tower_sand.tower_sand and tower_spruce.tower_spruce are all set to true, so none of the towers have been disabled.[26]
Tower placement
Every tower type uses a spacing of 26. The main tower is the odd one out, with a lower separation value than the others.[25]
- Main tower: tower_main.spacing is 26 and tower_main.separation is 15.[25]
- Leaf tower: tower_leaf.spacing is 26 and tower_leaf.separation is 20.[25]
- Sand tower: tower_sand.spacing is 26 and tower_sand.separation is 20.[25]
- Spruce tower: tower_spruce.spacing is 26 and tower_spruce.separation is 20.[25]
Each tower type also has its own salt value, set separately per structure: tower_main.salt, tower_leaf.salt, tower_sand.salt and tower_spruce.salt.[25]
