What is Pam's HarvestCraft - Food Core?
Pam's HarvestCraft - Food Core is part of this pack's mod list. The pack ships version 1.0.0, built for NeoForge 1.21.0. It has been in the pack since 1.4 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the pack rather than a recent addition.[1]
The name suggests it is the core library for the Pam's HarvestCraft food content, but the pack files I have only confirm that the mod is installed and which version it is. I can't tell you what it adds, who it is aimed at, or how to use it.[1]
Unverified The mod's exact features, items, recipes and configs are not confirmed by the available sources, so they are not covered here. No guidebook or platform description was available for this mod.
Unverified Where the mod fits in progression is not confirmed. It is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no quests in this pack involve it.
How do you get started with Pam's HarvestCraft - Food Core?
5 parts
Pam's HarvestCraft - Food Core is the cooking half of the Pam's food setup, and in this pack every recipe in it works the same way. Each one is a shapeless crafting recipe, and almost all of them need a kitchen tool of a certain type in the grid. The tools in the recipes are pot, saucepan, cutting board, mixing bowl, bakeware, juicer, skillet and roller. So before you cook anything, work out which tool each dish wants.[2]
Unverified The recipes shown here don't say how the kitchen tools themselves are crafted or obtained, so check them in your recipe viewer. No quests in this pack cover this mod, so nothing will guide you through it. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Step 1: a quick win with a Boiled Egg
Start with Boiled Egg. It's one of the simplest recipes in the mod: an egg plus a pot. Making it confirms your tool setup works before you move on to anything bigger.[2]
Step 2: the base ingredients
Next, make the building blocks that later dishes ask for. Butter is used in Buttered Baked Potato. Cheese goes into Cheese Cake and the cheeseburgers. Caramel is used in caramel pies, donuts, muffins, ice cream and yogurt.[2]

- any sugar
- any milk

Step 3: batter
Batter is the most useful base to have in stock. Apple, carrot, caramel and chocolate muffins all need it. So do Carrot Cake, Chocolate Cake and the donuts. This recipe uses a mixing bowl.[2]

Step 4: cooking oil, then donuts
Every donut recipe needs cooking oil, and a pot to fry in. Cooking Oil comes from a recipe that belongs to the crops mod rather than this one. It uses canola and a roller. Once you have it, Caramel Donut is an easy first donut, because you already have batter and caramel.[2]

Step 5: check the pack-changed meals
The pack has changed a number of recipes, so don't trust what you remember from other modpacks. The changed ones include Basic Hamburger, Basic Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheeseburger, Baked Vegetable Medly, Chicken Dinner, the basic sandwiches and the noodle soups. Always check the recipe shown here instead of relying on the mod's defaults.[2]

How does Pam's HarvestCraft - Food Core work?
3 parts
Food Core is a crafting mod, not a machine mod. In the recipes the sources show, every dish is made with ordinary shapeless crafting. The sources describe no multiblocks, power, fluid handling or machine automation for this mod, so there is nothing to build or wire up.[2]
Kitchen tools in the crafting grid
Almost every recipe includes one kitchen tool, matched by a tag such as a pot, skillet, cutting board, bakeware, mixing bowl, juicer, saucepan or roller. The tool decides what kind of dish you are making. A boiled egg uses the pot, and jerky uses the cutting board.[2]
The simplest pattern: one food ingredient plus one tool.
Crafting Shapeless
- any tool cuttingboard
- any rawbeef
- any salt
Recipe id: pamhc2foodcore:beefjerkyitem
Ingredients are also tags, not single items. Recipes ask for things like any batter, any sugar or any apple crop, so any item in that tag works. Check the recipe viewer to see which items count.[2]
Unverified The sources do not say which items provide the tool tags in this pack, or whether a tool is used up when you craft. Check the recipe viewer before you craft in bulk. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Chaining intermediates
Many dishes are built from other Food Core products. Apple Juice is made from an apple crop and a juicer. That juice goes into Apple Jelly, which then goes into Apple Jelly Toast.[2]

Batter works the same way. It is crafted from an egg, flour, milk and a mixing bowl, and then feeds recipes like Apple Donut and Apple Muffin.[2]

Cooking Oil comes from a recipe registered under the Pam's crops namespace. It takes canola and a roller tool. Several dishes then use it, such as the apple donut.[2]
Recipes the pack changed
Some recipes are marked as changed by the pack, so they may not match what you remember from the mod's defaults. The changed ones in the visible part of the recipe dump are:[2]
- Basic Hamburger and Basic Cheeseburger[2]
- Bacon Cheeseburger[2]
- The basic sandwiches: Basic Chicken Sandwich, Basic Fish Sandwich, Basic Mutton Sandwich, Basic Pork Sandwich and Basic Rabbit Sandwich[2]
- Basic Veggie Burger and Baked Vegetable Medly, which both use a cabbage crop[2]
- Beef Noodle Soup[2]
Crafting Shapeless

This is the pack's version of the recipe, not the mod default.
Unverified There is no config file, in-game guidebook or documentation for this mod in the sources. Anything beyond crafting, such as automation, hunger values or effects, is unconfirmed here.
How do you progress through Pam's HarvestCraft - Food Core?
5 parts
Unverified The sources I was given contain no quests for this mod and no in-pack tier system, so this section follows the recipe chain instead. The stages below are my own grouping, based on which items feed into which.
Food Core has no gated tiers. Every recipe in the dump is a shapeless crafting recipe, so you progress by unlocking ingredients and kitchen tools. Most dishes need a tool item in the grid, such as a pot, saucepan, cutting board, mixing bowl, bakeware, juicer, skillet, roller or grinder. Those tools are accepted through item tags, so any matching tool works.[2]
Stage 1: Base ingredients
Start by making the building blocks that later dishes consume: Dough, Batter, Cooking Oil, Butter, Cheese, Cream, Caramel, Cocoa Powder and Chocolate Bar. Dough and batter matter most, because pies, muffins, cakes, donuts and pot pies all lean on them.[2]

Cooking oil has several routes in this pack. One uses nuts and a roller, one uses canola and a roller, and one uses cabbage and a roller. The cabbage route is marked as changed by the pack.[2]

Stage 2: One-step foods
Next come dishes made straight from raw crops or meat plus a tool. Beef Jerky and Chicken Jerky use a cutting board. Boiled Egg uses a pot. Apple Juice, Carrot Juice and Chorus Juice use a juicer. Applesauce and Cracker are also single-step recipes.[2]
Stage 3: Dishes built on your base ingredients
Once you have batter, dough, caramel, cocoa and chocolate, you can start baking and frying. Muffins such as Apple Muffin and Chocolate Muffin use bakeware and batter. Pies such as Apple Pie and Caramel Pie use bakeware and dough. Donuts such as Caramel Donut and Chocolate Donut are made in a pot with batter and cooking oil. Carrot Cake, Cheese Cake and Chocolate Cake also use batter, and Chicken Pot Pie and Beef Pot Pie use dough.[2]
Apple, carrot and chorus fruit each have a matching set of muffin, pie, donut, yogurt, juice and jelly recipes. Chorus fruit is the odd one out here, but its recipes follow the same patterns as the others.[2]
Stage 4: Multi-step dishes
The deepest chains need intermediate foods that you craft first. Apple Jelly Toast needs jelly and toast. The jelly needs juice, and the juice needs a crop, so that is a chain of several crafts. Crackers and Cheese needs both crackers and cheese. Chocolate Caramel Fudge needs caramel and a chocolate bar. Chicken Dinner needs fried chicken and mashed potatoes.[2]

What the pack changed
Several recipes here differ from the mod's own version. The sources only mark them as changed and do not show the original recipes, so I can't say exactly what differs. The changed recipes are dough, cabbage-based cooking oil, Baked Vegetable Medly, Beef Noodle Soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, Chicken Dinner, Bacon Cheeseburger, and the basic burgers and sandwiches. The basic burgers and sandwiches are Basic Hamburger, Basic Cheeseburger, Basic Veggie Burger, and the chicken, fish, mutton, pork and rabbit sandwiches.[2]
How does Pam's HarvestCraft - Food Core work with other mods?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.0 guide
Food Core is mostly a pile of classic comfort dishes, but in this pack those dishes don't just sit in your hunger bar. Many of them are building blocks for fancier meals from HarvestCraft's extended food recipes, a couple of HarvestCraft crops feed into Food Core items, and there's even a crossover with bees.[3]
Cooking Oil and crops
Cooking Oil is made from Canola, so it's worth planting some. Once you have oil, you can combine it with Cattail to craft a vanilla Torch, which is handy if you're short on coal early on.[3]
Food Core dishes as ingredients
This is where Food Core really pays off. A lot of its basic dishes are ingredients in bigger extended recipes, so cooking them in bulk sets you up for the fancy stuff later.[3]
- Fried Chicken goes into Chicken Biscuit, BBQ Chicken Biscuit, Chicken and Waffles, Springfield Cashew Chicken, Fried Feast and Weekend Picnic.[3]
- Basic Hamburger upgrades into Coleslaw Burger, Jalapeno Burger and Onion Hamburger, and is part of the Cookout Meal.[3]
- Hot Dog is used for Chili Dog, Slawdog and the Cookout Meal.[3]
- Fries shows up in Poutine, Steak and Chips, Chicken Tenders Meal and Delighted Meal.[3]
- Mashed Potatoes is used for Bangers and Mash, Mashed Potatoes Chicken Biscuit and Fried Feast.[3]
- Grilled Cheese leads to Homestyle Lunch and Grilled Cheese Vegemite Toast.[3]
- Potato Chips goes into Chips and Dip and Weekend Picnic.[3]
- Sunflower Seeds is used for Sunflower Broccoli Salad and Sunflower Wheat Rolls.[3]
- The sandwiches upgrade too: Basic Chicken Sandwich becomes Leafy Chicken Sandwich and Basic Fish Sandwich becomes Leafy Fish Sandwich.[3]
- A few more one-offs: Epic Bacon makes the Epic BLT, Cracker makes Crackers and Cheese, Meatloaf makes the Meatloaf Sandwich and Pickled Beets goes into the Bento Box.[3]
Here are a couple of the big combo meals, just so you can see how many Food Core dishes they pull together:[3]

Milk from bees
The pack also includes a Productive Bees recipe that turns its Milk into Food Core's Fresh Milk. That gives you another way to get milk for HarvestCraft cooking.[3]
