What is Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops?
Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops is part of the pack as version 1.0.9, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack for a long time: it was first included in pack version 1.4 or earlier.[1]
Unverified What the mod adds in detail (its crops, items and any recipes) is not confirmed by the sources available for this guide, so it is not described here.
How do you get started with Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Welcome to the crops side of the pack! The first thing to know is how seeds work here: for every crop I can see in the recipe list, there is a crafting recipe that turns the harvested crop into its matching seed. So the first items you care about are the crops themselves and the seeds you make from them.[2]
Step one: turn a crop into its seed
The seed recipes are shapeless crafting recipes, so the arrangement in the grid doesn't matter. For example, Corn gives you Corn Seed, and Rice gives you Rice Seed. Here are those two recipes as they exist in this pack:[2]
The same pattern shows up for the rest of the list, from Agave and Barley through to Rutabaga. Each crop has its own seed item, such as Onion Seed or Cotton Seed. Berries, grains, vegetables and fibre plants all follow it.[2]
A sensible order to work in
- Get hold of a few crop items from the mod. The sources I have don't say where the first ones come from, so check JEI or your world.[2]
- Craft one seed from a crop, like Barley Seed from Barley, so you can confirm the recipe works in your game.[2]
- Pick the crops you actually want to use, such as Cabbage or Blueberry, and make their seeds so you have a starting stock.[2]
Unverified Where the first crops or seeds come from, what soil or light they need, how long they take to grow, and what the harvested crops are used for are not covered by the sources I have. No quests in this pack involve this mod, and there is no in-jar guidebook to check.
How does Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops work?
5 parts
This mod has no machines, power, fluids or multiblocks that the sources show. What it does have is a small set of gardens that generate in the world, plus a crop block for every plant. Here is how they work.[3]
The six garden blocks
The mod adds six garden blocks: Arid Garden, Frost Garden, Shaded Garden, Soggy Garden, Tropical Garden and Windy Garden. You find them growing in the world. Each one is tied to a type of biome.[3]
- Arid Garden: added to dry Overworld biomes.[4]
- Frost Garden: added to coniferous forest biomes.[5]
- Shaded Garden: added to forest biomes.[6]
- Soggy Garden: added to swamp biomes.[7]
- Tropical Garden: added to jungle biomes and to ocean biomes.[8][9]
- Windy Garden: added to plains biomes and to savanna biomes.[10][11]
How gardens generate
All six gardens are added in the vegetal decoration step of world generation.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]
Each garden is scattered as a random patch of 32 tries, spread up to 6 blocks sideways and 2 blocks vertically. It only places into air.[12][13][14][15][16][17]
Placement is also filtered. Each garden is positioned using the motion-blocking heightmap and a survival check, and then a rarity filter with a chance value of 20 decides whether the patch appears. One detail from the data: the survival check in every one of these placement files names the Arid Garden block, even for the Frost, Shaded, Soggy, Tropical and Windy gardens.[18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25]
What you get from a garden
Breaking a garden gives you a crop item picked from a fixed list, so each garden type is a source of that biome's crops. The drop is affected by Fortune, and explosions can destroy part of the drop.[26][27]
The Arid Garden's drops include Agave, Barrel Cactus, Cactusfruit, Cassava, Chia, Chickpea, Chilipepper and Corn.[26]
The Frost Garden's drops include Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Cotton and Cloudberry.[27]
Crops and seeds
Every plant has a matching crop block, named like Agave Crop or Alfalfa Crop, plus a crop item and a seed item.[3]
You can turn a harvested crop into its own seed in the crafting grid, with a shapeless recipe. This is the recipe for Agave Seed, and the other seed recipes shown in the pack follow the same pattern, from Agave to Eggplant.[28]
The recipe list only partly appears in the sources, with 318 more recipes not shown, so check the in-game recipe viewer for the crops not covered here.[28]
What the sources don't cover
The pack has no config files for this mod, so there are no tweakable options to point you to.[28]
Unverified Growth stages, growth speed, and the light, soil or water needs of the individual crop blocks could not be confirmed from the sources.
How do you progress through Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops?
4 parts
For this mod, the pack's recipes and loot tables show a simple loop rather than a ladder of tiers: grow a crop, harvest it, turn it back into seeds and plant again.[28]
Crop to seed
Each crop item in the mod has a shapeless crafting recipe that turns it into its own seed, for example Agave into Agave Seed. That is how you keep a farm going once you have one crop item to start from.[28]
Other crops in the recipe list follow the same one-item-to-seed pattern.
Cloche growing (added by the pack)
The pack adds an Immersive Engineering cloche recipe for agave. It gives you the seed back along with the crop, so a single seed keeps producing.[28]
Cloche (immersiveengineering)

Added by the pack: the output includes the seed as well as the crop.
Harvesting crops
The agave and alfalfa crop loot tables share one layout. Breaking the crop always gives its crop item, and a fully grown crop (age 7) adds a second drop pool that Fortune can boost. That Fortune bonus is a binomial one with 3 extra and a probability of 0.5714286.[29][30]
Garden blocks
The mod also has garden blocks whose loot tables draw from a fixed list of crops. Fortune boosts the count with a bonus multiplier of 2. The arid garden list includes:[26]
The frost garden list includes:[27]
How does Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops work with other mods?
2 parts
In this pack, Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops mostly connects to other mods through recipes. Its crop items feed into the food core and food extended parts of Pam's HarvestCraft, and one chain even ends in a vanilla torch.[28]
Canola, Cooking Oil and torches
Your Canola becomes Cooking Oil in a shapeless crafting recipe that also needs a roller tool. The pack changed this recipe, so follow the one below rather than what you remember from the mod.[28]
That oil is useful beyond cooking. The pack also changed the recipe that turns Cattail and Cooking Oil into a Torch, which gives you a way to make light from farm crops.[28]
Drinks and food in Food Extended
Hot Coffee is an ingredient for Expresso. It also needs a sugar and a pot tool, and both of those slots accept any item from the matching common tag. This is the mod's own recipe, not a pack change.[28]

Hot Tea works the same way for Sweet Tea. It is also an unchanged mod recipe, and it uses a lemon, ice, sugar and a pot tool, each accepted from a common tag.[28]
The Gourmet Mutton Burger is the biggest connection. It uses Roasted Mushroom from this mod, together with a Brioche Bun and a Gourmet Mutton Patty from Food Extended. The remaining slots take cheese, spice leaf, spinach and tomato from common tags, plus a skillet tool.[28]

What changed in Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops between versions?
1 part
The pack ships Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops 1.0.9 in All the Mods 10 8.2, using the NeoForge 1.21.1 build of the mod. It has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 1.4 or earlier, so you'll find it in every release you're likely to play.[1]
Pack changelog entries
- All the Mods 10 6.1: the changelog lists Pam's HarvestCraft 2 - Crops as updated from 1.0.7 to 1.0.7. The version number is the same on both sides, so the entry doesn't tell you what changed.[31]
Unverified What changed inside the mod between 1.0.7 and 1.0.9, and in which pack release the jump happened, can't be confirmed, because no changelogs are stored for the shipped jars.
