What is ModularBees?
1 part
ModularBees (version 1.21.1-2.5-neoforge in this pack) is all about compact bee processing. Instead of loose hives and single machines, you build multiblocks: a Modular Beehive to make combs and honey, and a Modular Centrifuge to process them. You then customise both by swapping in functional parts.[1][2][3]
The Modular Beehive is a 3x3x3 cube run by its core block. You can replace any structure box with a functional part to improve it, but it doesn't allow shared blocks. It has a built-in simulate upgrade, so your bees never fly out of the hive. They also won't breed or do in-world transformation recipes, which saves performance. In exchange, they produce combs and honey at incredible speed once you add upgrades.[2]
The core can't hold bees itself. Your bees live in Alveary parts, which hold 5 bees each, and you move bees in and out by right-clicking an Alveary with bee cages. Bees only look for flowers in the Modular Feeder, which holds 9 types of flowers. It can also take a bucket or tank for bees that need a fluid flower.[4][5]
Upgrades and processing
- The Beehive Overclocker uses energy and Electrodes to speed up production, and multiple overclockers stack additively.[6]
- The Beehive Treater feeds your bees extra food so they make more combs.[7]
- The Beehive Stacker raises the stack size of the hive's output inventory.[8]
- Export hatches automatically send products and honey from the hive, or items and fluids from the centrifuge, into the chest or tank they face.[9][10]
- The Modular Centrifuge supports all centrifuge upgrades and starts at the basic centrifuge's 15s process time. You can boost it with a Gearbox, which needs wax, or a Heater, which needs power and makes it work 3 times faster.[3][11][12]
There's more beyond the core machines too. The mod also adds a Modular Dragon Hive for collecting dragon breath from draconic bees, and a Bee Extractor that pulls genes from a bee into a bottle.[13][14]
Unverified Exactly where ModularBees fits in this pack's overall progression isn't covered by the available sources.
How do you get started with ModularBees?
6 parts
ModularBees gives you a big multiblock beehive for your bees. The Modular Beehive is a 3x3x3 cube with a core block as its controller. You can swap any of its Beehive Structure Boxes for functional parts that improve the hive. This pack replaces the mod's recipes for the basic hive blocks with its own, so check the recipe blocks below rather than relying on older videos or guides.[2][16]
Why bother? The hive has a built-in simulate upgrade, so your bees never leave it. They also won't breed or do in-world transformation recipes inside it, which saves performance. In return, they produce combs and honey at incredible speed once you add upgrades.[2]
Step 1: Scented Planks and Structure Boxes
Everything starts with the Scented Plank. You need it for the Beehive Structure Box and for the hive core itself. Structure Boxes make up the body of the cube, and most of the functional parts are crafted from them too, so make a good supply.[2][16]

Step 2: The Modular Beehive core
Next, craft the Modular Beehive, the controller of the whole multiblock. Keep in mind that the Modular Beehive doesn't allow shared blocks, so don't plan builds where two hives use the same block.[2][16]

Step 4: A Modular Feeder for flowers
Bees in a Modular Beehive only look for flowers in the Modular Feeder, so your hive needs one. It holds 9 types of flowers. If a bee needs a fluid flower, you can put in a bucket or tank that contains that fluid.[5]

Step 5: An Export Hatch for automation
Finally, add a Beehive Export Hatch. It works as a proxy of the core for logistics and automatically sends products and honey to the chest or tank it faces. That way, you don't have to empty the hive by hand.[9]

What comes next
- The Beehive Treater gives your bees extra food so they make more combs. Every bee needs a food supply, and the boost gets weaker if there isn't enough food for all of them.[7][16]
- The Beehive Overclocker makes bees work faster. It needs energy and an Electrode, and better Electrodes give a bigger boost. This pack uses its own recipes for the overclocker and the electrodes.[6][16]
- The Beehive Stacker increases the maximum stack size of the hive's output inventory, and using several stackers adds up their boosts.[8][16]

How does ModularBees work?
9 parts
ModularBees gives you two big multiblocks, the Modular Beehive and the Modular Centrifuge, plus a few extra machines. Both multiblocks work the same way: you build a cube out of structure blocks around a controller, then swap structure blocks for functional parts to upgrade the whole machine.[2][3]
The Modular Beehive
The Modular Beehive is the controller of a 3x3x3 cube. The rest of the cube is made of Beehive Structure Box blocks, and you can replace any of them with a functional part. Modular Beehives don't allow shared blocks, so each hive needs its own set of parts.[2]
The hive has a built-in simulate upgrade, so your bees never leave it. To save performance, bees inside won't breed or do in-world transformation recipes. Instead they produce combs and honey at incredible speed once you add upgrades.[2]
This pack uses its own recipe for the Modular Beehive, not the mod's original one.[16]

Housing and feeding your bees
The core itself can't hold bees, so you need at least one Modular Alveary in the structure. Every Alveary holds 5 bees. You put bees in with bee cages, and you can right-click an Alveary with a bee cage to insert or remove bees.[4]

Beehive upgrade parts
The Beehive Overclocker makes your bees produce faster. It needs energy and an Electrode to work, and better Electrodes give a bigger speed boost. Multiple overclockers stack additively: two Netherite Electrodes at +400% each give +800%, which makes bees work x9 faster.[6]

The Beehive Stacker raises the maximum stack size of the hive's output inventory. The in-game guide says each Stacker gives a 3x stack size boost by default, and multiple Stackers stack additively.[8]
Unverified There are no ModularBees config files for this pack, so it can't be confirmed whether the pack keeps the default Stacker boost.

The Beehive Treater feeds your bees extra food so they produce more combs. Multiple Treaters stack additively, and JEI shows which foods are valid and how much each one boosts production.[7]
Unlike the Overclocker, the Treater only uses food when bees finish collecting nectar. Every bee needs its own food, so the boost gets weaker if there isn't enough to feed them all. Leftovers go to the output inventory.[7]

The mod also has three craftable treats: Royal Treat, Ender Treat and Soul Treat.[16]
Unverified The sources don't confirm whether these treats are Treater food or what boost they give. Check JEI in game. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Electrodes
Both Overclockers need Electrodes. There are four tiers, and you can see each one's speed boost in JEI or in its tooltip. This pack adds its own recipes for the Copper Electrode, Iron Electrode and Gold Electrode.[6][16][17]

The Modular Centrifuge
The Modular Centrifuge is the controller of the centrifuge multiblock. The guide describes it as a 3x3x3 structure with four corners at the bottom layer. The body uses Centrifuge Structure Wall blocks, any of which you can replace with a functional part. As with the hive, shared blocks aren't allowed.[3]
The Modular Centrifuge accepts all centrifuge upgrades. Speed upgrades shorten the process time, and productivity upgrades increase parallel processing. Base process time matches the basic centrifuge at 15s.[3]

How do you progress through ModularBees?
7 parts
ModularBees is built around two big multiblocks: the Modular Beehive for making combs and honey, and the Modular Centrifuge for processing them. Both are 3x3x3 structures run by a controller block. You upgrade them by swapping plain structure blocks for functional parts. Several parts are crafted from Productive Bees machines, so get a working Productive Bees setup going before you dive in.[2][3][6][16]
Heads up: this pack adds its own recipes for the ModularBees structure parts and the Copper, Iron and Gold Electrodes, and it changed the smithing recipe of the Netherite Electrode. The recipe cards on this page show the in-pack versions, so use them instead of an older guide or the mod's defaults.[16]
Step 1: Scented Planks and Structure Boxes
Everything on the beehive side starts with the Scented Plank. You turn it into the Beehive Structure Box, which fills out the frame of the hive. Most beehive parts are built from a Structure Box too, so you will come back to this recipe often.[16]

The Modular Beehive
The Modular Beehive is the controller of a 3x3x3 cube, and the hive can't share blocks with another one. It has a built-in simulate upgrade, so bees won't come out of the hive. Step 3: Upgrading the hive
Once the hive is running, you can swap more Structure Boxes for upgrade parts. For the Overclocker, Treater and Stacker, the boosts add together when you install more than one of the same part.[6][7][8]
- The Beehive Overclocker makes bees work faster. It needs energy and an electrode, and better electrodes give a bigger boost. Two Netherite Electrodes (+400% each) make bees work x9 faster (+800%).[6]
- The Beehive Treater feeds bees extra food so they produce more combs. It only uses food when bees finish collecting nectar, but every bee needs a food supply, so the boost is weakened if the food can't feed every bee. Leftovers go to the output inventory. JEI shows which foods work and how much each one boosts.[7]
- The Beehive Stacker raises the max stack size of the hive's output inventory, with a 3x boost per Stacker by default.[8]

Step 4: The Modular Centrifuge
To keep up with all those combs, build the Modular Centrifuge. It controls a 3x3x3 structure with four corners at the bottom layer, and like the hive it doesn't allow shared blocks. Its frame is made of Centrifuge Structure Wall blocks, which you can replace with functional parts. How does ModularBees work with other mods?
4 parts
ModularBees is built on top of Productive Bees, and you can see that in almost every recipe. Its multiblock parts are usually crafted from a Productive Bees machine or item, and many also need ProductiveLib upgrades. So you'll want a working Productive Bees setup before you start building modular hives and centrifuges.[16]
Pack-specific hive recipes
This pack adds its own recipes for three key pieces: the Modular Beehive, the Modular Feeder and the Beehive Overclocker. Check the recipes shown here instead of the mod's defaults. The Modular Beehive and the Beehive Overclocker both use the ProductiveLib Upgrade Productivity 4, and the Modular Beehive also needs Upgrade Adult.[16]
