What is ModularBees?
2 parts
ModularBees takes bee production and turns it into big, upgradeable multiblock machines. There are two main builds: the Modular Beehive, which houses your bees and makes combs and honey, and the Modular Centrifuge, which processes those combs. Each one is a structure run by a core block. You swap its structure boxes for functional parts to make it better.[1][2]
The Modular Beehive is a 3x3x3 cube. It has a built-in simulate upgrade, so your bees never leave the hive. To save performance, bees inside it won't breed or do in-world transformation recipes. In exchange, they produce combs and honey at incredible speed once you add upgrades. That makes this mod a great fit if you run a lot of bees and want your base to stay lag-friendly.[1]
Beehive parts
- The Modular Alveary is where your bees actually live, because the core can't hold bees. Each Alveary holds 5 bees, and you move bees in and out by right-clicking it with bee cages.[3]
- The Modular Feeder holds 9 types of flowers, and bees in the hive only look for flowers there. For bees that need a fluid flower, you can put in a bucket or tank of that fluid.[4]
- The Beehive Overclocker uses energy and an Electrode to speed up production, and the Beehive Treater feeds your bees extra food so they make more combs. For both parts, boosts from multiple copies add together.[5][6]
- The Beehive Export Hatch automatically sends products and honey to the chest or tank it faces.[7]
- The Modular Dragon Hive is a special hive that collects dragon breath from draconic bees.[8]
The Modular Centrifuge
The centrifuge is a 3x3x3 structure with four corners at the bottom layer. It supports all centrifuge upgrades and has the same 15s base process time as the basic centrifuge. You can add Import and Export Hatches for automation. A Gearbox raises parallel processing but uses wax. A Heater lets it process comb blocks and makes it work 3 times faster, but it needs power, and it destroys all wax.[2][9][10][11][12]
Unverified The in-game guide doesn't explain where ModularBees fits in the pack's progression or which base bee mod it builds on. It is not part of the ATM Star path, and no quests in this pack use it.
How do you get started with ModularBees?
7 parts
The heart of this mod is the Modular Beehive, a 3x3x3 cube multiblock controlled by the Modular Beehive. It has a built-in simulate upgrade, so your bees never fly out of the hive. Instead of breeding or doing in-world transformations, they focus on producing combs and honey, and with upgrades they do it at incredible speed.[1]
This pack adds its own recipes for the core beehive pieces, so use the recipe blocks below instead of what you remember from other setups.[13]
Step 1: Scented Planks and Structure Boxes
Everything starts with the Scented Plank. You need it for the Beehive Structure Box, which is the basic building block of the hive's cube. You also need it directly for the core itself. Make plenty of Structure Boxes, because they also go into the Alveary, Feeder, Beehive Export Hatch, Beehive Treater, Beehive Overclocker and Modular Dragon Hive recipes.[1][13]

Step 2: The Modular Beehive core
The Modular Beehive is the controller of the whole multiblock. It can't hold any bees on its own, so you'll need the parts from the next steps before it does anything useful.[1][3]

Putting it together
- Build a 3x3x3 cube with the Modular Beehive as its controller and Beehive Structure Box blocks for the rest of the structure.[1]
- Swap Structure Boxes for functional parts: replace any Structure Box with an Alveary, a Feeder or an Export Hatch.[1]
- Load your bees into the Alvearies with bee cages and fill the Feeder with the flowers they need.[3][4]
Next up: processing combs
Once combs start flowing, you can build the Modular Centrifuge. It's a 3x3x3 multiblock with four corners at the bottom layer, controlled by the Modular Centrifuge. Its base process time is 15s, the same as a basic centrifuge. To feed it combs automatically, add a Centrifuge Import Hatch, which pulls combs from the chest or tank it faces.[2][12]

How does ModularBees work?
7 parts
ModularBees gives you two big multiblocks: the Modular Beehive for making combs and honey, and the Modular Centrifuge for processing combs. Each one is a 3x3x3 build with a controller block. You make it better by swapping plain structure blocks for functional parts, so the upgrades are part of the structure itself.[1][2]
The Modular Beehive
The Modular Beehive is the controller of a 3x3x3 cube. Any Beehive Structure Box in that cube can be replaced with a functional part to improve the hive. Modular multiblocks don't allow shared blocks, so each hive needs its own set of parts.[1]
The hive has a built-in simulate upgrade, so your bees never fly out. To save performance, bees inside won't breed or do in-world transformation recipes. They just make combs and honey, and with upgrades they do it at incredible speed.[1]
In this pack, the core Modular Beehive pieces use the pack's own recipes rather than the mod's. That includes the controller, the Beehive Structure Box, the Modular Alveary, the Modular Feeder, the Beehive Overclocker, the Scented Plank and all three electrodes listed below.[13]

Beehive parts
- Modular Alveary: the controller can't hold bees itself, so the Alveary is where your bees live. Each one holds 5 bees. You put bees in with bee cages, and you can right-click the Alveary with a bee cage to insert or extract them.[3]
- Modular Feeder: bees in the hive only look for flowers here. It holds 9 types of flowers. If a bee needs a fluid flower, put in a bucket or tank that holds the right fluid.[4]
- Beehive Export Hatch: a logistics proxy for the controller. It automatically sends products and honey into the chest or tank it faces.[7]
- Beehive Overclocker: makes bees produce faster. It needs energy and an electrode, and better electrodes give a bigger speed boost.[5]
- Beehive Treater: gives your bees extra food so they produce more combs. JEI shows the valid foods and their boosts.[6]

Overclocking and treats
Speed boosts from several Beehive Overclockers add together. The in-game guide's example is two electrodes rated x5 each, which make your bees work x10 faster.[5]
Watch your electrodes in a full hive: the more bees you have, the more damage they take. The guide gives the damage formula as floor[(x/15+1)*(1.03^x)], where x is the number of bees in the hive.[5]
Beehive Treaters stack as well, since their production boosts add together. Unlike the Overclocker, a Treater only uses food when bees finish collecting nectar. Every bee needs to be fed, though, and the boost gets weaker if there isn't enough food for all of them. Leftovers are sent to the output inventory.[6]

Unverified The mod adds a Royal Treat and an Ender Treat, but the sources don't confirm whether the Beehive Treater accepts them or what boost they give. Check JEI in-game before you rely on them. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Electrodes
Both kinds of overclocker run on electrodes. There are four tiers, and each electrode's tooltip (or JEI) shows how big a speed boost it gives. In this pack, the Copper, Iron and Gold Electrodes use pack-specific recipes, and each tier is crafted from the one below it.[5][13][14]

The Modular Centrifuge
The Modular Centrifuge is the controller of the Modular Centrifuge. The guide describes it as a 3x3x3 structure and mentions the four corners of the bottom layer, so check the in-game preview for the exact shape. Like the hive, it doesn't allow shared blocks, and you upgrade it by swapping structure blocks for functional parts.[2]
The centrifuge supports all centrifuge upgrades. Speed upgrades shorten the process time, and productivity upgrades increase parallel processing. Its base process time matches the basic centrifuge at 15s.[2]

Centrifuge parts
- Centrifuge Import Hatch: an input buffer that automatically pulls combs from the chest or tank it faces. The centrifuge uses its inventory directly as input.[12]
- Centrifuge Export Hatch: a logistics proxy for the controller. It automatically sends items and fluids into the chest or tank it faces.[9]
- Centrifuge Gearbox: adds 1.5 to parallel and needs 40 wax every work cycle. Parallel boosts from several gearboxes add together.[10]
- Centrifuge Heater: makes the centrifuge work like a Heated Centrifuge, so it can process comb blocks and destroys all wax. It needs power and makes the centrifuge work 3 times faster. You can install only one per centrifuge.[11]
- Centrifuge Overclocker: needs energy and an electrode to speed up the centrifuge, and boosts from several overclockers add together. Here the electrode loses 1 durability every work tick, no matter how busy the machine is.[15]

Modular Dragon Hive
The Modular Dragon Hive is a special hive that collects dragon breath from draconic bees. The mod also lets you fill a Dragon Breath Bucket with a shapeless crafting recipe.[8][13]
How do you progress through ModularBees?
6 parts
ModularBees is built around the Modular Beehive, which produces combs and honey, and the Modular Centrifuge, which processes them. The beehive side uses the pack's own recipes, so expect it to cost more than in a lighter pack. The centrifuge side keeps the mod's original recipes.[1][2][13]
Tier 1: the Modular Beehive
The Modular Beehive is the controller of a 3x3x3 cube. Every other position is a Beehive Structure Box, and you can swap any of those boxes for a functional part. The beehive doesn't allow shared blocks, so each hive needs its own structure.[1]
- Craft a Scented Plank. This pack added this recipe.[13]
- Turn Scented Planks into a Beehive Structure Box. This is also one of the pack's own recipes, and you'll need a lot of these boxes.[1][13]
- Craft the Modular Beehive, which also uses a recipe added by this pack.[13]

The hive has a built-in simulate upgrade, so bees won't come out of the hive. Bees inside won't breed or do in-world transformation recipes. Instead they produce combs and honey very quickly once you add upgrades.[1]
Making the hive work
- Modular Alveary: the core can't hold bees itself, so you need Alvearies. Each one holds 5 bees. Right-click it with bee cages to put bees in or take them out. This pack added the recipe.[3][13]
- Modular Feeder: bees in the hive only look for flowers in the Feeder, which holds 9 types of flowers. For fluid flowers, put in a bucket or tank of that fluid. This pack added the recipe.[4][13]
- Beehive Export Hatch: sends products and honey to the chest or tank it faces.[7]

Overclockers and electrodes
The Beehive Overclocker makes bees work faster. It needs energy and an electrode, and better electrodes give a bigger boost. Boosts from several overclockers add together, so two Netherite Electrodes (x5 each) make bees work x10 faster. This pack added the overclocker recipe.[5][13]

The Treater
The Beehive Treater gives bees extra food so they produce more combs, and boosts from several treaters add together. It only uses food when bees finish collecting nectar, but every bee needs a food supply, and the boost gets weaker if the food can't feed every bee. Leftovers go to the output inventory. Check JEI for valid foods and their boosts.[6]

The mod also adds a set of treats: Honey Jelly, which comes out of a centrifuge, plus the Royal Treat, the Ender Treat and the Soul Treat. The recipes below show what each one takes.[13]
Tier 3: the Modular Centrifuge
The Modular Centrifuge controls a 3x3x3 multiblock with four corners on the bottom layer. The rest of the shell is Centrifuge Structure Wall, which you can swap for functional parts. Shared blocks aren't allowed. The base process time is 15s, the same as a basic centrifuge. It supports all centrifuge upgrades: speed upgrades shorten processing time and productivity upgrades increase parallel. The pack keeps the mod's own recipes for this whole tier.[2][13]

How does ModularBees work with other mods?
4 parts
ModularBees is built right on top of Productive Bees, and in this pack that connection shows up in almost every recipe. Its multiblock hives and centrifuges are crafted from Productive Bees machines and ProductiveLib upgrade items. The pack also adds its own recipes for three key ModularBees blocks and changes one more, so the recipes below are the ones you'll actually use here.[13]
The Modular Beehive and its parts
The Modular Beehive controls a 3x3x3 multiblock hive. It has a built-in simulate upgrade, so bees never leave the hive, and it skips breeding and in-world transformations to focus on pumping out combs and honey. This pack adds its own crafting recipe for the core, which ties it to ProductiveLib upgrade items, so check the recipe below rather than any default you've seen elsewhere.[1][13]

Dragon Hive and treats
The Modular Dragon Hive is a special hive for collecting dragon breath from draconic bees, and it's crafted by upgrading Productive Bees' Dragon Egg Hive.[8][13]
ModularBees also has its own bee treats. The Royal Treat builds on a Productive Bees Honey Treat, and the Ender Treat goes a step further with Productive Bees dragon materials.[13]
Unverified The sources don't confirm whether the Royal Treat or Ender Treat are valid foods for the Beehive Treater. Check JEI in-game, where the Treater's valid foods and their boosts are listed. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
