What is Crystalix?
2 parts
Crystalix is a building and decoration mod that adds colored glass blocks with a lot of different functions. The pack includes version 3.0.0. It's a great pick if you like detailed builds, or if you want glass that does more than look pretty.[1][2]
Since version 2.3.0 there are only 3 kinds of glass, and you can apply any color to any of them. That gives you a huge number of color combinations without a crowded creative menu.[1]
The Crystalix Wand
The wand is how you customize your glass. You hold V by default to open a config window, then cycle through the properties to set them on a block. Left clicking or scrolling down cycles forwards, and right clicking or scrolling up cycles backwards.[1]
- Crouch to edit all connecting blocks at once.[1]
- Hold CTRL to apply properties without changing the color.[1]
- Press X to copy the properties from the block you're currently targeting onto the wand.[1]
What the properties can do
Properties can be mixed however you like. You can make a block invisible, fully transparent with only a few colored specks, waterloggable, or shadeless. You can also make it emit a redstone signal of 15, or let it conduct redstone like a solid block.[1]
Reinforced blocks are indestructible to everything, including the wither and the ender dragon, except for a player mining them. Mining them is also 10x harder. The Ghost property lets chosen groups pass through the block, such as only players or only hostile mobs. The Light property can make a block glow at light level 15, block light like tinted glass, or glow at 15 while still allowing mob spawns.[1]
Unverified Where Crystalix fits in this pack's progression is unconfirmed. The available sources show no quests for it and no place on the ATM Star path, so treat it as an optional building and decoration mod.
How do you get started with Crystalix?
4 parts
Crystalix adds colored glass blocks that can do a lot more than look pretty. You can make them glow, conduct redstone, let certain mobs walk through them and more. Getting started is short: make some glass, then make the wand that changes it.[1]
Craft some glass
The mod page says that since version 2.3.0 there are only three types of glass: Crystalix Glass, Clear Crystalix Glass and Bordered Crystalix Glass. Any color can be applied to any type, so which one you pick mostly comes down to the look you want. Make at least one first, so you have something to experiment on once you have the wand.[1][3]

Craft the Crystalix Wand
The mod page describes the Crystalix Wand as the tool that lets you cycle through properties in a config window to set the property of a block. Here is how it is made in this pack:[1][3]

Learn the wand controls
The mod page says the wand lets you cycle through all possible properties in a config window to set the property of a block. These are the controls it lists, and the copy control works on the block you are currently targeting:[1]
- The mod page says holding V opens the config window by default.[1]
- Per the mod page, left click or scroll down cycles forward, and right click or scroll up cycles backward.[1][4]
- The mod page says crouching lets you edit all connecting blocks at once.[1]
- The mod page says holding CTRL applies properties but not color.[1][4]
- Press X to copy the properties from the block you are currently targeting onto the wand.[1]
- The color property opens a color picker, where you can choose any color to apply to your glass.[1][4]
What to try first
Properties can be mixed and matched however you want. The mod page lists light modes, a redstone property that emits a signal of 15, waterloggable and invisible among them. Invisible is useful when you want the properties of the glass without a visible block there.[1][4]
How does Crystalix work?
4 parts
The project page describes Crystalix as a mod that adds a bunch of colored glass blocks with many different functions. Everything revolves around one idea: you take a glass block and change its properties and color with a wand.[1]
Unverified The sources here don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling for Crystalix, so there is nothing to explain on those topics. No config files for the mod were available either, so the sources here do not show whether this pack changes any of the values below. The numbers in this section come from the mod's own project page and tooltips.
The three glass types
The project page says that since version 2.3.0 there are only 3 types of glass, and that you can apply any color to any of them. In this pack they are Crystalix Glass, Clear Crystalix Glass and Bordered Crystalix Glass, and each one is crafted as shown below. The project page also notes that the first type is basically invisible.[1][3]

The Crystalix Wand
According to the project page, the Crystalix Wand is your main tool: it lets you cycle through all possible properties in a config window to set the properties of a block.[1][3]

These are the wand controls as the project page and the in-game tooltips list them.[1][4]
- By default, hold V to open the config window.[1]
- Left click or scroll down to cycle forward. Right click or scroll up to cycle backward.[1][4]
- Crouch to edit all connecting blocks at once.[1]
- Hold CTRL to apply properties without applying color. The in-game tooltip calls this applying without color.[1][4]
- Press X to copy the properties from the block you're currently targeting onto the wand.[1]
- Use the middle mouse button to open the color picker, as the wand's tooltip says.[4]
Properties
The project page says properties can be mixed and matched however you like, so a single block can combine several of them.[1]
- Color: opens the color picker so you can choose any color for your glass.[1][4]
- Invisible: the block isn't rendered at all. The project page calls this useful when you want a block's properties without a visible block there.[1][4]
- Transparent: the texture becomes fully transparent, and color only shows on the few specks left on the glass.[1][4]
- Waterloggable: sets whether you can place water in the same block.[1][4]
- Shadeless: removes the shadows and shade from the block, so it doesn't display a shade thrown by other blocks.[1][4]
- Redstone: the block emits a redstone signal of 15.[1][4]
- Conductor: redstone is conducted through the block like a solid block.[1][4]
- Reinforced: the project page says the block is indestructible to everything, including the wither and the ender dragon, except for a player mining it. It also makes the block 10x harder to mine.[1][4]
Ghost and Light modes
Ghost lets certain mobs pass through a block. The project page lists these settings: Nothing, Everything, Only Players, Everything except Players, Only Hostile Mobs, Everything except Hostile Mobs, Only Passive Mobs, or Everything except Passive Mobs.[1][4]
The project page says Light cycles through its own set of modes. None adds no special property. Light glows at light level 15. Dark blocks light the same way tinted glass does. Fake Light also glows at light level 15 but still allows mobs to spawn.[1]
How do you progress through Crystalix?
2 parts
Crystalix is a small, decorative mod in this pack. Its recipes are all shaped crafting recipes, so you don't need machines or multiblocks to make any of it. Each recipe stands alone and none of them uses another Crystalix item as an ingredient except the wand, which can be made from a block tagged as a Crystalix block.[3]
The glass variants
You can craft Crystalix Glass, Clear Crystalix Glass and Bordered Crystalix Glass. Each has its own recipe built from ordinary glass, so you can start with whichever look you like.[3]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Crystalix?
2 parts
Crystalix shows up in two quest chapters: Building Tips, where it has its own quest, and Industrial Foregoing, where it gets a recommendation in the Wither setup.[5][6]
Building Tips chapter
The chapter has 91 quests and starts at "Building Tips!" quest. From there you go to "Blocks!" quest, which just asks you to get any block. That leads to a quest in "Building Tips", which is about adding glass to your builds so you can see outside, and it hints that modded glass does more than vanilla.[6]
"Crystalix" quest comes right after that glass quest. It sits alongside the other glass quests that follow the same one: Macaw's Windows, Reactor Glass (Basic), Railcraft Glass, XyCraft Glass, Glassential and Chipped Glass.[6]
The quest is an overview of what the mod gives you: glass in every variety. There are three styles. Normal has no borders or corner pixels, so it is fully clear and one color. Clear has borders but no corner pixels. Bordered uses the standard Minecraft glass pattern, with borders and pixels near the corners.[6]
The quest also says every Crystalix glass has its own properties:[6]
- Shadeless changes how the glass reacts to shaders and Minecraft lighting.[6]
- Reinforced changes its blast resistance.[6]
- Light decides whether it gives light, ignores light, or acts like normal glass and lets light in.[6]
- Ghost changes who can walk through the glass, and it has the most settings.[6]
Unverified The book does not name a specific item for the Crystalix quest's task in the data available here, so what exactly you need to hand in is unconfirmed.
Industrial Foregoing chapter
Crystalix has no quest of its own here, but it is mentioned in a quest in "Industrial Foregoing", the Ether Gas explainer. That quest comes after a quest in "Industrial Foregoing", "Laser Drill" quest and a quest in "Industrial Foregoing". It explains that you get Ether Gas by draining a Wither, and recommends using Wither-proof glass for the setup, such as Tinted Glass from Mob Grinding Utils or Crystalix Glass with Reinforced Mode enabled.[5]
After that you reach "Ether Gas" quest, which asks for the Ether Gas bucket and leads on to the Supreme Machine Frame.[5]
What changed in Crystalix between versions?

Unverified What actually changed in Crystalix between versions, such as new items, removed features or rebalanced values, isn't shown by the sources here, because no changelogs for the shipped jars are stored.
