What is Crystalix?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Crystalix is a building and decoration mod that adds colored glass blocks with a lot of different functions. The pack includes version 3.0.0. It's a great pick if you like detailed builds, or if you want glass that does more than look pretty.[1][2]
Since version 2.3.0 there are only 3 kinds of glass, and you can apply any color to any of them. That gives you a huge number of color combinations without a crowded creative menu.[1]
The Crystalix Wand
The wand is how you customize your glass. You hold V by default to open a config window, then cycle through the properties to set them on a block. Left clicking or scrolling down cycles forwards, and right clicking or scrolling up cycles backwards.[1]
- Crouch to edit all connecting blocks at once.[1]
- Hold CTRL to apply properties without changing the color.[1]
- Press X to copy the properties from the block you're currently targeting onto the wand.[1]
What the properties can do
Properties can be mixed however you like. You can make a block invisible, fully transparent with only a few colored specks, waterloggable, or shadeless. You can also make it emit a redstone signal of 15, or let it conduct redstone like a solid block.[1]
Reinforced blocks are indestructible to everything, including the wither and the ender dragon, except for a player mining them. Mining them is also 10x harder. The Ghost property lets chosen groups pass through the block, such as only players or only hostile mobs. The Light property can make a block glow at light level 15, block light like tinted glass, or glow at 15 while still allowing mob spawns.[1]
Unverified Where Crystalix fits in this pack's progression is unconfirmed. The available sources show no quests for it and no place on the ATM Star path, so treat it as an optional building and decoration mod.
How do you get started with Crystalix?
4 parts
Crystalix is all about colored glass blocks that can have all kinds of special behaviors. Getting started is simple: make some glass, then make the wand that changes what it does.[1][3]
First: make some Crystalix glass
Every color has its own recipe, and they all follow the same pattern: a dye of that color, an amethyst gem and a glass block. Here is white as an example. The other colors, from crystalix:black_crystalix_glass to crystalix:yellow_crystalix_glass, work the same way with their matching dye.[3]
Crafting Shaped

| any glass blocks | any amethyst gem | any glass blocks |
Recipe id: crystalix:white_crystalix_glass
Each color also has a second recipe with "tinted" in its id. It uses a dye of that color plus a block from the mod's own block tag, so it's another way to get the same colored glass. Here is the white one.[3]

Next: craft the Crystalix Wand
The Crystalix Wand is the tool that sets a block's properties and color. Its recipe needs a stick and a nether star, so plan for that before you can customize anything.[1][3]

Learn the wand controls
- The mod's project page currently says to hold V (the default key) to open the config window.[1]
- As currently documented, left click or scroll down cycles forward through the options, and right click or scroll up cycles backward.[1]
- As currently documented, crouching lets you edit all connecting blocks at once. The wand's tooltip calls this bulk editing.[1][4]
- The project page currently says that holding CTRL applies only the properties and leaves the color alone.[1]
- The project page currently says that pressing X copies the properties of the block you're targeting onto the wand.[1]
What the wand can change
Properties can be mixed however you like. These are the ones the mod's project page currently lists: invisibility, transparent, waterloggable, reinforced, shadeless, redstone, conductor, ghost, light and color. Color opens a color picker, so you can choose any color you want for your glass.[1]
The project page currently says the Light property cycles through these modes:[1]
- None: currently listed as no special property.[1]
- Light: currently listed as glowing at a light level of 15.[1]
- Dark: currently listed as blocking light the same way as tinted glass.[1]
- Fake Light: currently listed as glowing at a light level of 15 while still allowing mobs to spawn.[1]
The project page currently says the Redstone property makes the block emit a redstone signal of 15, and Conductor makes it conduct redstone like a solid block.[1]
How does Crystalix work?
5 parts
The project page describes Crystalix as adding colored glass blocks with many different functions. As it describes the mod, everything is driven by properties you set on a glass block, and the wand is how you set them. Here's how that works.[1]
The Crystalix Wand
Per the project page, the Crystalix Wand is your control panel. You use it to cycle through the possible properties of a block and set them from a config window. By default you open that window by holding V.[1][4]

- Per the project page, crouching lets you edit all connecting blocks at once. The wand tooltip shows this as holding Shift to bulk edit.[1][4]
- Per the project page, holding CTRL applies the properties but not the color.[1]
- Per the project page, pressing X copies the properties of the block you're currently targeting onto the wand.[1]
- Per the project page, left clicking or scrolling down cycles forwards, and right clicking or scrolling up cycles backwards.[1]
There is also a keybind called Cycle Reinforced Mode. The wand tooltips display your current Reinforced, Shadeless, Light and Ghost settings.[4]
Glass blocks and colors
The project page says you can apply any color to any type of glass, and that properties can be mixed and matched however you like. In this pack you craft the colors as their own items, such as crystalix:red_crystalix_glass or crystalix:light_blue_crystalix_glass. The color picker in the wand's config window lets you choose any color you like for your glass.[1][3]

There is also a second recipe type for each color. It takes a dye and a block from the Crystalix block tag, and gives you the colored glass.[3]

Properties
- Invisibility: makes the block invisible while keeping the glass's properties, so you can have the effect without a visible block.[1]
- Per the project page, Transparent: the texture becomes fully transparent, and color only shows on a few specks of the glass.[1]
- Waterloggable: sets whether the block can be waterlogged.[1]
- Per the project page, Reinforced: the block is indestructible to everything, including the wither and the ender dragon, except for a player mining it. It also becomes 10x harder to mine.[1][4]
- Per the project page, Shadeless: removes the shadows and shade from the block.[1][4]
- Per the project page, Redstone: the block emits a redstone signal of 15.[1]
- Per the project page, Conductor: the block conducts redstone through it like a solid block.[1]
Ghost mode
Per the project page, Ghost makes the block passthrough for a chosen group. The options are nothing, everything, only players, everything except players, only hostile mobs, everything except hostile mobs, only passive mobs, and everything except passive mobs. The wand tooltips label these as Allow or Block for All, Animal, Monster and Player.[1][4]
Light modes
- Per the project page, None: no special property.[1][4]
- Per the project page, Light: the block glows at a light level of 15.[1][4]
- Per the project page, Dark: the block blocks light the same way tinted glass does.[1][4]
- Per the project page, Fake Light: the block glows at a light level of 15 but still allows mobs to spawn. The project page lists this mode, but the wand tooltip text in the sources only shows None, Light and Dark.[1][4]
Unverified No config files for Crystalix are available in the sources for this pack, so they do not show whether the pack changes any of the values above, such as the mining difficulty of Reinforced glass. The property descriptions come from the mod's project page.
How do you progress through Crystalix?
2 parts
The sources for this pack show no tiers for Crystalix. The recipe list contains only colored glass blocks and one wand, all crafted in a crafting table, so there is no machine chain or power ladder to climb.[3]
Colored glass
Crystalix glass comes in many colors, for example crystalix:red_crystalix_glass, crystalix:blue_crystalix_glass and crystalix:white_crystalix_glass. Every color can be made with a standard shaped recipe, shown here with red.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any glass blocks | any amethyst gem | any glass blocks |
| any amethyst gem | any red dye | any amethyst gem |
| any glass blocks | any amethyst gem | any glass blocks |
Recipe id: crystalix:red_crystalix_glass
The standard glass recipe, shown for red. The other colors follow the same pattern with their own dye.
Each color also has a tinted recipe that gives the same glass block. It starts from a block in the Crystalix block tag, so you can recolor Crystalix blocks you already have.[3]

| any block | any red dye | any block |
| any block | any block | any block |
Recipe id: crystalix:tinted_red_crystalix_glass
The tinted route, shown for red. Other colors use their matching dye.
Many ingredients in these recipes are tags rather than single items, so any item in the tag works.[3]
The Crystalix Wand
The Crystalix Wand is the only non-glass item in the recipe list. It has its own shaped crafting recipe, and it is the one item here you may want to plan ahead for.[3]

Unverified The sources here do not show any quest involving Crystalix, or a place for it on the ATM Star quest path. Check the pack's quest book in game if you want to confirm.
What changed in Crystalix between versions?
Crystalix has a short history in All the Mods 10 so far. The pack changelogs show it arriving in 2.32 and then being updated in 2.33 and again in 2.34.[5][6][7]
- All the Mods 10 2.32: Crystalix was added to the pack at version 1.0.1.[7]
- All the Mods 10 2.33: updated from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2.[6]
- All the Mods 10 2.34: updated from 1.0.2 to 1.1.0.[5]
In 2.34 the pack ships the NeoForge 1.21.1 build, crystalix-1.1.0_neoforge_1.21.1.jar.[8]
Unverified The pack changelogs only list the version numbers, and no changelogs for the shipped jars are stored. What actually changed inside Crystalix between 1.0.1, 1.0.2 and 1.1.0 (new features, fixes or balance changes) is not shown in the sources here.
