What is Crystalix?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Crystalix is a building and decoration mod that adds colored glass blocks with a lot of different functions. The pack includes version 3.0.0. It's a great pick if you like detailed builds, or if you want glass that does more than look pretty.[1][2]
Since version 2.3.0 there are only 3 kinds of glass, and you can apply any color to any of them. That gives you a huge number of color combinations without a crowded creative menu.[1]
The Crystalix Wand
The wand is how you customize your glass. You hold V by default to open a config window, then cycle through the properties to set them on a block. Left clicking or scrolling down cycles forwards, and right clicking or scrolling up cycles backwards.[1]
- Crouch to edit all connecting blocks at once.[1]
- Hold CTRL to apply properties without changing the color.[1]
- Press X to copy the properties from the block you're currently targeting onto the wand.[1]
What the properties can do
Properties can be mixed however you like. You can make a block invisible, fully transparent with only a few colored specks, waterloggable, or shadeless. You can also make it emit a redstone signal of 15, or let it conduct redstone like a solid block.[1]
Reinforced blocks are indestructible to everything, including the wither and the ender dragon, except for a player mining them. Mining them is also 10x harder. The Ghost property lets chosen groups pass through the block, such as only players or only hostile mobs. The Light property can make a block glow at light level 15, block light like tinted glass, or glow at 15 while still allowing mob spawns.[1]
Unverified Where Crystalix fits in this pack's progression is unconfirmed. The available sources show no quests for it and no place on the ATM Star path, so treat it as an optional building and decoration mod.
How do you get started with Crystalix?
3 parts
Crystalix is all about decorative glass blocks that do more than look pretty. In this pack, the properties are separate craftable blocks, and the recipes chain together. So a simple way to start is with one plain block that you upgrade step by step. I'll use black as the example.[1][3][4]
Make the base block
Everything starts with the crystalix:black_block. Every other black variant in the recipe list is built from it, directly or through another variant, so craft a few before you do anything else.[3]

Pick a property
Each single-property upgrade is crafted straight from the base block. Choose the one that fits what you're building:[3]
- crystalix:black_dark_block is the Dark version. The project page says the Dark mode blocks light the same way tinted glass does.[1][3]
- crystalix:black_light_block is the Light version. The project page says the Light mode glows at light level 15.[1][3]
- crystalix:black_ghost_block is the Ghost version. The project page says Ghost blocks can be passed through by a chosen group of entities.[1][3]
- crystalix:black_reinforced_block is the Reinforced version. The project page says it is indestructible to everything except a player mining it, and that it takes 10x longer to mine.[1][3]
- crystalix:black_shadeless_block is the Shadeless version. The project page says it removes the shadows and shade from the block.[1][3]

Stack properties
You don't have to stop at one property. The pack has recipes that add a second or third property to a block you already made. For example, you can turn a Black Ghost Block into a crystalix:black_reinforced_ghost_block.[3]

The same pattern runs all the way up to blocks like the crystalix:black_shadeless_reinforced_dark_ghost_block. Each step has its own recipe, so you can reach a combination from several starting points.[3]

How does Crystalix work?
4 parts
The mod's project page describes Crystalix as adding a bunch of colored glass blocks with many different functions. The sources here describe no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it, so its mechanics come down to block properties and the wand that sets them.[1]
The Crystalix Wand
According to the project page, the Crystalix Wand is how you set a block's properties. You open its config window (hold V by default), then cycle through the options to set the property of a block.[1]
- The project page says crouching lets you edit all connecting blocks at once.[1]
- It says holding CTRL applies only the properties, not the color.[1]
- It says pressing X copies the properties from the block you're targeting onto the wand.[1]
- It says left clicking or scrolling down cycles forwards, while right clicking or scrolling up cycles backwards.[1]
Properties
Properties can be mixed and matched however you like. Here is what each one does.[1]
- Invisibility: the project page says it makes the block invisible, which is useful when you want the glass's properties without a visible block.[1]
- Transparent: the project page says the texture becomes fully transparent, with color applied only to a few specs on the glass.[1]
- Waterloggable: sets whether the block can be waterlogged.[1]
- Reinforced: the project page says the block is indestructible to everything, including the wither and the ender dragon, except for a player mining it. It also says the block is 10x harder to mine.[1]
- Shadeless: the project page says it removes the shadows and shade from the block.[1]
- Redstone: the project page says the block emits a redstone signal of 15.[1]
- Conductor: the project page says the block conducts redstone through it like a solid block.[1]
- Color: opens a color picker so you can apply any color to your glass.[1]
Ghost and Light modes
The project page says Ghost makes the block passthrough for one of these groups: nothing, everything, only players, everything except players, only hostile mobs, everything except hostile mobs, only passive mobs, or everything except passive mobs.[1]
The project page lists these Light modes. None has no special property. Light glows at light level 15. Dark blocks light the same way as tinted glass. Fake Light glows at light level 15 and still allows mobs to spawn.[1]
How this pack handles it
The pack has separate blocks for the property combinations, with names using Reinforced, Shadeless, Dark, Light and Ghost, plus a color prefix. Each one is made with a shaped crafting recipe, starting from a base colored block and adding properties step by step.[3][4]

How do you progress through Crystalix?
4 parts
Crystalix is a decorative block mod, and in this pack its progression is a crafting ladder. You start with a plain coloured block, then add modifiers to it step by step. Every step is its own in-pack recipe, and the recipe blocks below show the exact ingredients.[3]
The base block
Everything begins with a base block in your chosen colour, such as crystalix:black_block. It is made from a dye, glass and wool, all of which are tag-based, so several different items work.[3]

Pick a modifier
From the base block you can make single-modifier variants named Dark, Ghost, Light, Reinforced and Shadeless. Each has its own recipe that starts from the base block and adds an extra material.[3]
- crystalix:black_dark_block is the Dark variant.[3]
- crystalix:black_ghost_block is the Ghost variant.[3]
- crystalix:black_light_block is the Light variant.[3]
- crystalix:black_reinforced_block is the Reinforced variant.[3]
- crystalix:black_shadeless_block is the Shadeless variant.[3]

Stack modifiers
Once you have a modified block, you can add another modifier to it. The recipe takes your modified block plus an extra material instead of starting over from the base block. The block's name lists every modifier it carries, for example crystalix:black_dark_ghost_block.[3]
The order you add modifiers in doesn't matter. crystalix:black_dark_ghost_block has a recipe that starts from the Dark block and another that starts from the Ghost block, so you can build on whichever you already have.[3]

Names get long at the top of the ladder. crystalix:black_shadeless_reinforced_dark_ghost_block carries Shadeless, Reinforced, Dark and Ghost, and it can be made from several different predecessors, including crystalix:black_shadeless_reinforced_dark_block.[3]

Colours
The recipes shown here cover black and blue, and both follow the same ladder. For blue, the base block and the Dark variant use blue dye, as in crystalix:blue_block and crystalix:blue_dark_block.[3]

What changed in Crystalix between versions?
Crystalix has a short history in All the Mods 10 so far. The pack changelogs record when Crystalix arrived and when it was updated.[5][6]
- All the Mods 10 2.32: Crystalix was added to the pack at version 1.0.1.[6]
- All the Mods 10 2.33: Crystalix was updated from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2.[5]
So if you're on All the Mods 10 2.33, you have Crystalix 1.0.2, shipped as the NeoForge 1.21.1 build of the mod.[7]
Unverified The sources here don't include the mod's own changelog for 1.0.2, so what actually changed between 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 (fixes, new content or balance tweaks) is unverified.
