What is Create: Dragons Plus?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon that adds convenient features for players, plus dev utilities for other Create addon authors. As a player, you'll mostly care about the first part: it gives your Encased Fans new jobs and makes tank handling easier.[1]

This pack ships version 1.11.7b, and the mod has been in the pack since 2.47 or earlier.[2]

What it adds

  • Bulk Coloring: use Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1]
  • Bulk Freezing: use Powder Snow with an Encased Fan to freeze items.[1]
  • Bulk Ending: use a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath (fluid) with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
  • Bulk Sanding: use Quicksand with an Encased Fan to polish items. It supports all Sand Paper polishing recipes. Since version 1.8.5, Quicksand is no longer required if the Bulk Sanding block tag contains any block.[1]
  • Fluid Hatch: works like the Item Hatch, but gives you convenient take and deposit operations on Fluid Tanks.[1]

Who it's for

If you already run Create and want to process items in bulk with fans instead of one at a time, this mod is for you. It's also handy if you want simpler fluid tank access.[1]

The mod also has optional integrations with other mods, such as Create: Simulated, Create: Granished, Create: Dreams & Desires, The Aether, Dye Depot, Dyenamics, Arts & Crafts and Ars Nouveau. Each one only matters if that mod is installed. Its features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces them on or off.[1]

Unverified The sources don't show any quests for this mod, any role on the ATM Star path, or an in-game guidebook. They also don't confirm which of the integration mods are in this pack, or whether the pack changed any of the mod's configs or recipes.

How do you get started with Create: Dragons Plus?

5 parts

Create: Dragons Plus adds extra ways to process items with an Encased Fan, plus a handy block for working with fluid tanks. The pack changed the recipes for everything below, so follow the recipe blocks here.[1][3]

Step one: make a Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch is the easiest first build. Placed on a tank, it lets you fill the tank from a held fluid container, or pull stored fluid back out with empty containers. It works like the Item Hatch, but for Fluid Tanks.[1][4]

Step two: start on dyes for Bulk Coloring

Bulk Coloring uses Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It also works with many crafting recipes that use dyes. Air passing through the dye creates the coloring setup, and it can also change the color of entities and the armor they wear.[1][4]

The pack has mixing recipes that combine a vanilla dye with water to give you the mod's version of that dye. Red is shown here as an example. The other colors have their own matching recipes, for example Blue Dye and White Dye.[3]

Step three: get Dragon's Breath for Bulk Ending

Bulk Ending runs air through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath to infuse items with energy from The End. In this pack, an emptying recipe turns a bottle of dragon's breath into Dragon's Breath and gives you the glass bottle back.[1][3][4]

Step four: the Blaze upgrade template

The pack also changed the recipe for the Smithing Template. Its additions slot is described as taking working blocks for Blaze.[3][4]

Other fan setups

  • Bulk Freezing: air passing through Powder Snow creates a freezing setup.[1][4]
  • Bulk Sanding: air passing through a sanding catalyst such as Quicksand creates a sanding setup. It is compatible with Sand Paper polishing recipes.[1][4]
Tip: Each Dragons Plus feature can be switched on or off, unless a dependent mod forces it. If one of these fan setups doesn't work for you, it may have been disabled.[1]

How does Create: Dragons Plus work?

6 parts

Create: Dragons Plus is mostly about new things you can do with an Encased Fan, plus one handy tank accessory. The fan's air flow becomes a processing setup when it passes through the right block or fluid, and the mod adds a few of these setups.[1][4]

Bulk processing with the Encased Fan

  • Bulk Coloring: air flowing through Liquid Dye creates a Coloring Setup. It dyes items and works with most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1][4]
  • Bulk Freezing: air flowing through Powder Snow creates a Freezing Setup that freezes items.[1][4]
  • Bulk Ending: air flowing through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath creates an Ending Setup, which infuses items with energy from The End.[1][4]
  • Bulk Sanding: air flowing through a Bulk Sanding Catalyst creates a Sanding Setup. Quicksand is the example catalyst, and the setup works with Sand Paper sanding recipes.[1][4]

Bulk Coloring and Bulk Sanding behave like Bulk Blasting and Bulk Smoking from base Create. They automatically pick up existing recipes (dye crafting recipes and Sand Paper recipes) instead of needing their own.[4]

Coloring air flow also works on entities and changes their color. Armor an entity is wearing gets colored too.[4]

Dye fluids

Bulk Coloring needs Liquid Dye. This pack changes the Create mixing recipes that produce the mod's dyes, one per color: Black Dye, White Dye, Red Dye, Blue Dye and so on. Here is the black one as an example, and the other colors follow the same pattern.[1][3]

Every dye color has its own matching mixing recipe in the pack.

Dragon's Breath

Dragon's Breath is a fluid that powers Bulk Ending, and a Dragon Head works too. This pack changes the Create emptying recipe that turns a bottle of vanilla Dragon's Breath into the fluid.[1][3]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch makes a fluid tank easy to use with fluid containers. It works like the Item Hatch does for items.[1][4]

Place it on a tank. With a filled container in your hand, it deposits the fluid into the tank. With an empty fluid container, it takes stored fluid back out.[4]

The pack changes the Fluid Hatch recipe, so use this one rather than the mod default.[3]

The mod also adds the Smithing Template. Its additions slot is described as "Add working blocks for Blaze". The pack changes its crafting recipe too.[3][4]

Optional integrations

The mod can hook into other mods. It supports fan processing recipes from Create: Granished and Create: Dreams & Desires, and it adds Bulk Enchanting for The Aether. It also supports dyes from Dye Depot and Dyenamics. These only matter if those mods are installed alongside it.[1]

The project page says all features can be turned on or off unless a dependent mod forces them.[1]

Unverified No config files for this mod were available to the sources here, so it is not shown whether the pack disables any feature or which of the optional integrations are present.

How do you progress through Create: Dragons Plus?

3 parts

The recipe data for this mod in the pack is small: one crafting recipe for a hatch, one for a smithing template, one emptying recipe and a set of dye mixing recipes. Every one of them is marked as changed by the pack, so what you see below are the pack's versions, not the mod's defaults.[3]

Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch is a shapeless crafting recipe that starts from a Create Item Drain. Here is the exact in-pack recipe.[3]

Dragon's Breath and dyes

Emptying a bottle of vanilla dragon's breath gives you 250 of the Dragon's Breath fluid, and you get the glass bottle back.[3]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

Each dye fluid has its own Create mixing recipe that turns the matching vanilla dye item into 250 of the fluid. Black Dye is shown here as the example, and the other colours follow the same pattern with the same output amount.[3]

Tip: Because the dye recipes all output the same 250 amount, once one colour works in your setup you can copy it for the others, for example Red Dye or Lime Dye.[3]

How does Create: Dragons Plus work with other mods?

2 parts

In this pack, Create: Dragons Plus connects to other mods through a few recipes. The main link is with Create: Enchantment Industry, and it runs through the Fluid Hatch and the Smithing Template from this mod.[3]

Fluid Hatch

The pack changed the crafting recipe for the Fluid Hatch, so don't assume the mod's default applies. The recipe below is the one used here.[3]

The Fluid Hatch is also an ingredient in the Create: Enchantment Industry recipe for the Experience Hatch. That recipe is a Create item application recipe.[3]

Blaze upgrade smithing template

The Smithing Template is used in the smithing recipes for the Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger. Both recipes are smithing transform recipes from Create: Enchantment Industry.[3]

Tip: If you want to set up experience or enchanting automation with Enchantment Industry, plan for this mod's items early. The Experience Hatch, Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger all depend on the Fluid Hatch or the smithing template.[3]

What changed in Create: Dragons Plus between versions?

2 parts

All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 ships Create: Dragons Plus 1.8.7, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier. The notes below come from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[5]

Latest releases (1.8.x)

  • 1.8.7: updated for Create 6.0.9. It fixes a crash when pondering the encased fan with Bulk Sanding in certain situations.[6]
  • 1.8.6: adds the item tag "not_applicable_for_coloring", which stops a specific item from being bulk colored. It also fixes a crash when pondering the encased fan with Dreams and Desires but without Quicksand, a crash with Oreganized when using the encased fan ponder at bulk freezing, and an infinite fluid dupe between the Fluid Hatch and Mekanism's fluid tanks.[7]
  • 1.8.5: Bulk Sanding no longer hard-requires Quicksand. It turns on if Quicksand is installed, Create: Dreams & Desires is installed, or the Bulk Sanding block tag contains a block. Recipe format was also updated for compatibility with a newer KubeJS-Create.[8]
  • 1.8.1: fixes the Break Fan Catalyst tags of Create: Dreams & Desires, so Catalyst Sails should now work correctly.[9]
  • 1.8.0b: adds a PT_BR localization.[10]
  • 1.8.0: compatible with Create: Dreams & Desires. Bulk Sanding, Bulk Ending and Bulk Freezing automatically support all of its Fan processing recipes, and the Industrial Fan is supported.[11]

Earlier changes

  • 1.7.0: adds a Stainable attribute for the attribute filter, and a block tag for the automatic polishing recipe generation denylist. Bucket of Mod Fluids now works properly with a Dispenser, and Liquid Dye can now solidify concrete powder. There is also a config to disable colored concrete generation in the lava interaction of Dye Fluid, and a Hungarian translation was added.[12]
  • 1.7.0 also changed the Fluid Hatch so your bucket stays in your main hand after filling. It fixed fan processing still running when its recipe is disabled in config, and a registration issue with the sanding recipe.[12]
  • 1.6.1: fixes the Blaze Block not rendering its rods correctly.[13]
