What is Apotheosis?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.14 guide
Apotheosis is all about making you stronger than ever before while still feeling true to vanilla Minecraft at heart. This pack runs version 8.4.0. The Apotheosis mod itself is the adventure module: it adds Affixes, Gems, World Tiers and everything else you need for RPG-style gear progression, without it taking over the game.[1][2]
Apotheosis is part of a family of mods, and it requires the other three to run. Apothic Attributes adds the new attributes and potion effects. Apothic Spawners lets you pick up and modify mob spawners. Apothic Enchanting fully overhauls the enchanting system.[1]
What you'll be doing
- Hunting affix items: any item, from vanilla or other mods, can roll affixes. Its rarity, from Common up to Mythic, decides how many bonuses it gets and how strong they are.[1][3]
- Breaking loot down at the Salvaging Table into Rarity Materials, then spending them at the Reforging Table to make your own affix items.[1][4][5]
- Socketing Gems into your gear for extra bonuses. Each gem gives different bonuses depending on the type of item it goes into.[1][6]
- Climbing the five World Tiers, from Haven to Pinnacle. Higher tiers give you better loot and some direct bonuses, but every enemy in your world gets stronger too.[1][7]
- Fighting Apothic Invaders, which start appearing from the Frontier tier. Each one carries an affix item and always drops it when you kill it.[1]
Where it fits in your progression
Apotheosis is with you from the very start. Affix items show up in loot chests and on mobs, and your World Tier decides how rare they are. The Simple Reforging Table handles items up to Rare rarity. To reforge Epic items or higher, you upgrade it into a full Reforging Table. The Summit tier only opens up after you've slain the Wither.[1][5]
At the very end sits the Augmenting Table, where you upgrade or reroll individual affixes. It costs a lot of experience and uses Sigils of Enhancement as fuel, so it's the place to perfect your build once you have near-endless resources.[1][8]
Unverified The sources don't show whether this pack changes reforging costs or World Tier unlock requirements. Modpacks are able to change both, so check in game.
How do you get started with Apotheosis?
7 parts
Apotheosis is all about a loop: you find affix items, break them down for materials, and use those materials to make your own gear. The first few crafts below set that loop up, so do them roughly in this order.[1]
Get the guidebook
The mod has an in-game guidebook called the Chronicle of Shadows. Check it as you go, because modpacks can change content and anything that is disabled won't show up in the book. JEI is the other place to look things up.[1]
Find your first affix item
Affix items turn up in loot chests and drop from random entities in your world. Named or empowered Elite mobs can drop them too. The rarity you find depends on your World Tier.[1][10]
Haven is the starting World Tier and is enabled by default, though you won't see it until you've picked up your first affix item.[11][12]
Get your first Gem Dust
Gem Dust shows up in most of the recipes below. Gems come from chest loot and, rarely, from mobs. Your first two dust come from having an anvil crush two gems. After that you can switch to the Salvaging Table.[1][13][14]
Build the Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials. It also turns gems into Gem Dust, so you won't need the anvil trick again.[14][15][16]

Each item rarity gives its own material:[15]
- Common items give apotheosis:common_material.[15][16]
- Uncommon items give apotheosis:uncommon_material.[15][16]
- Rare items give apotheosis:rare_material.[15][16]
- Epic items give apotheosis:epic_material.[15][16]
- Mythic items give apotheosis:mythic_material.[15][16]
Make Gem-Fused Slate
Gem-Fused Slate is an ingredient in every sigil recipe and in the iron, gold and diamond smithing templates in this pack, so it's worth making early.[16]
Start reforging
The Simple Reforging Table lets you reforge items up to Rare rarity. It works on any valid item, not just ones that already have affixes.[17]

Reforging uses Rarity Materials for the rarity you want, plus Sigil of Rebirth as fuel. The table offers three choices, and none is inherently stronger than the others. Each rarity has a base cost of experience, sigils and materials, and the extra choices cost double and triple. Modpacks can change these costs, so check the numbers in-game.[16][17]

What to build next
- Upgrade to the Reforging Table when you want to reforge Epic items or higher.[16][17]
- Use the Gem Cutting Table to upgrade your gems.[18]
- Use Sigil of Socketing on an item that has no sockets but should. Use Sigil of Withdrawal to take socketed gems back out.[1][13]
- The Augmenting Table is the end-game station for upgrading or rerolling single affixes. It runs on Sigil of Enhancement. It is typically used on items of Mythic rarity, though augmenting Epic ones is an option too.[19]

How does Apotheosis work?
6 parts
Apotheosis gear systems run through a handful of crafting stations that each do one job: break gear down, cut gems, reforge items, and fine-tune affixes. Once you know how the stations feed into each other, the whole loop makes sense.[15][17][18][19]
Salvaging: where everything starts
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials, which you then spend at other stations. Each rarity gives its own material:[12][15]
- Common items give apotheosis:common_material.[15][16]
- Uncommon items give apotheosis:uncommon_material.[15][16]
- Rare items give apotheosis:rare_material.[15][16]
- Epic items give apotheosis:epic_material.[15][16]
- Mythic items give apotheosis:mythic_material.[15][16]
The table also handles gems. The pack has salvaging recipes for Chipped, Cracked, Flawed and Flawless gems, and each one gives Gem Dust.[14][16]
Your very first Gem Dust has to come from an anvil: drop an Apothic Gem in the world and let an anvil fall on it. After that, the Salvaging Table takes over.[12][14]

Gem Cutting
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. Gems run from Cracked to Perfect, higher purity means a higher upgrade cost, and a Perfect gem can't be upgraded any further.[12][13][18]
Stronger gems need more Gem Dust and higher-tier Rarity Materials. The exact cost for any gem is shown in JEI.[18]

Socketing and unsocketing
To put a gem into an item, combine the two in a Smithing Table. Each gem states which items it fits, and some gems are Unique, so only one copy fits in an item. You can also right-click the item while hovering it with the gem.[1][13]
If an item has no sockets, the Sigil of Socketing is how you add one. To get gems back out, combine the socketed item with a Sigil of Withdrawal in a Smithing Table. The item and all its gems are returned.[1][13]

Reforging
Reforging gives an item brand new affixes. It isn't limited to items that already have affixes, so any valid item will work. Start with the Simple Reforging Table, which handles items up to Rare. For Epic or higher you need to upgrade it into the Reforging Table.[17]
The table has three input slots. Your item goes in the center, Rarity Materials for the rarity you want go in the top-left, and Sigil of Rebirth go in the bottom-right as fuel.[16][17]
Similar to an Enchanting Table, reforging offers three choices. Each is a possible new form of the item, and none is inherently stronger than the others. Each rarity has a base cost of experience, sigils and materials, and the extra choice slots charge double and triple that base. Click the choice you want to reforge, and you can reforge the same item more than once.[17]

Augmenting
The Augmenting Table is an end-game station for working on individual affixes while leaving the rest of the item intact. Its upper slot holds the affix item. You should typically only augment items of at least Mythic rarity, though Epic ones are worth considering. The lower slot holds Sigil of Enhancement, its fuel. Pick the affix you want from the drop-down menu.[19]
- Upgrade: costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises the affix's internal strength by 25%. How much that helps depends on the affix.[19]
- Reroll: costs one Sigil of Enhancement and swaps the selected affix for another of the same type. The alternatives are shown on the left.[19]
The upgrade button also shows an experience cost in levels, so check it before you commit.[12]

The shared base material
Most of the sigil and smithing template recipes in the pack use Gem-Fused Slate, so you'll want a steady supply.[16]
How do you progress through Apotheosis?
4 parts
Apotheosis gives you three ladders to climb in this pack: world tiers that scale the difficulty and loot, Enchanting Table levels that take you from 30 up to 100, and a set of crafting stations and materials for your affix gear. The pack's Apothic Enchanting quest chapter follows the enchanting ladder.[20][21][22]
World tiers
A world tier is a per-player strength modifier. It controls what content shows up, how strong enemies are and what bonuses you can get. There are five tiers, each harder and more rewarding than the last: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. Higher tiers also make higher rarity items and Invaders more common.[23]
- Haven is enabled by default, but you won't see it until you pick up your first Affix Item.[11]
- Frontier: equip an Affix Item in each armor slot and hold an Affixed Weapon in either hand.[11]
- Ascent: equip a full set of Uncommon Affix Items, including a weapon, and slay an Apothic Invader.[11]
- Summit: get a full set of Rare Affix Items and slay the Wither.[11]
- Pinnacle: obtain a full set of Epic items and free The End by slaying the Ender Dragon.[11]
Unlocking a tier is not enough, because tiers do not activate automatically. Open the World Tier Select screen (CTRL+T by default), click the tier's symbol and press Activate. You can switch tiers at any time. The Detailed Info button shows a tier's rarity and purity weights and its Tier Augments. In multiplayer, players can be on different tiers, and most content uses the tier of the closest player.[24]
Enchanting Table levels
The Apothic Enchanting chapter of the quest book follows this ladder. It opens with "Apothic Enchanting" quest and then "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest, whose text says normal Bookshelves alone only get Eterna up to a max of 30. After that the chapter moves on to Infusion with "Infusing" quest.[22][25]
- Level 30: this works the usual way, with fifteen bookshelves.[25]
- Level 45: add Hellshelves to your bookshelves, or Seashelves if you would rather go to the Ocean than the Nether. See "Hellshelves" quest and "Seashelves" quest. The Hellshelves quest text says 15 of them give 45 Eterna and 30% Quanta around your table, which is enough to infuse a Hellshelf.[22][26]
- Level 60: infuse your shelves into upgraded ones and use them on top of your old ones. The quests "Infused Hellshelves" quest and "Infused Seashelf" quest cover this, and their text gives the Infused versions a max of 60 Eterna.[22][26]
- Level 70: you need a Level 60 table and Deepslate. Craft a Dormant Deepshelf and infuse it into a Deepshelf. The quest "Deepshelf" quest asks for 60 Eterna, 40% Quanta and 40% Arcana.[22][27]
- Level 75: upgrade your Deepshelves with materials from the Deep Dark, such as Echo Shards and Sculk collected with Silk Touch. See "Echoing Deepshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Deepshelf" quest.[27]
- Level 80: you have to slay the Warden, which lets you craft Sculkshelves. See "Soul-Touched Sculkshelf" quest and "Echoing Sculkshelf" quest.[27]
- Level 90: you need a Level 80 table and Dragon's Breath to make Infused Dragon's Breath, the core component of Endshelves. See "Infused Dragon's Breath" quest and "Endshelves" quest.[28]
- Level 100: this is the highest level, and only a Draconic Endshelf provides it. It needs a Dragon Head and gives no other stat bonuses. See "Draconic Endshelf" quest. In the quest book, the chapter's last quest is "Best Enchanting set-up" quest.[22][28]
The Endshelves also matter outside the chapter. The Miniature End Portal quest in The ATM Star chapter, a quest in "The ATM Star", calls for quite a few of them.[29]
Crafting stations and materials
Your gear upgrades run on a handful of Apotheosis materials. This pack has salvaging recipes for affix items of every rarity, giving apotheosis:common_material, apotheosis:uncommon_material, apotheosis:rare_material, apotheosis:epic_material and apotheosis:mythic_material from Common up to Mythic. It also has salvaging recipes for gems of all six purities, from chipped to perfect, and every one of them gives Gem Dust. Gem Dust turns up in most of the recipes below.[16]
Gem-Fused Slate is the base ingredient for most of the other items here, and one craft makes 8 of them.[16]
The early stations are the Gem Cutting Table, the Salvaging Table and the Simple Reforging Table. Both reforging tables and the Augmenting Table sit further along.[16]

Sigils and the Augmenting Table
Sigils are the crafted consumables of this mod. Each craft in the pack makes a set number:[16]
- Sigil of Enhancement: 4 per craft.[16]
- Sigil of Rebirth: 6 per craft.[16]
- Sigil of Socketing: 3 per craft.[16]
- Sigil of Unnaming: 6 per craft.[16]
- Sigil of Withdrawal: 4 per craft.[16]
The Augmenting Table is the end-game station. It upgrades or rerolls single affixes on an affix item and leaves the rest intact. The guide suggests augmenting items of at least Mythic rarity, though Epic ones are worth considering too. Upgrading costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises the internal strength of the affix by 25%. Rerolling costs one Sigil of Enhancement and swaps the affix for another of the same type.[19]

Which All the Mons quests use Apotheosis?
5 parts
Apotheosis has two chapters of its own in the quest book: Apothic Enchanting and Apothic Spawners. It also gets a few mentions in other chapters, which I'll cover at the end. Everything below is what the quests ask for and say, so the numbers are the quest book's own wording.[22][30]
Apothic Enchanting
The chapter opens with "Apothic Enchanting" quest, which asks for an Enchanting Table. Its text says that with Apotheosis, 15 Bookshelves won't be enough anymore. Next come "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest and then "Infusing" quest, and most of the rest of the chapter comes after that one.[22]
Three quests explain the stats you are building toward: "Eterna" quest, "Quanta" quest and "Arcana" quest. Their text gives Eterna a default of 0 and a max of 50, Quanta a default of 15% and a max of 100%, and Arcana a default of 0% and a max of 100%. After all three, "Negative amounts" quest asks for the Beeshelf, Stoneshelf and Melonshelf. The quest says each lowers its respective quantity, for Infusions that need exact amounts.[22]
The shelf path, in order
- "Hellshelves" quest asks for a Hellshelf. The quest text says each gives 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna, and that you want 15 around the table plus 1 in your inventory. It says that if you make the first 11, it gives you the last 5.[22]
- "Seashelves" quest is the Arcana route, and asks for a Seashelf. The text says each gives 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna, and that you collect 11 now and it hands you extra.[22]
- "Infused Hellshelves" quest follows the Hellshelves. Its text says 15 Hellshelves around the table give 45 Eterna and 30% Quanta, and that Infused Hellshelves give 5 Eterna (max 60) and 5% Quanta. It asks you to collect 8 of the 12 it says you need. Three quests come after it: "Glowing Hellshelf" quest, "Blazing Hellshelf" quest and "Enchanting Clues" quest.[22]
- "Infused Seashelf" quest does the same for Seashelves. Its text says Infused Seashelves give 5 Eterna (max 60) and 5% Arcana. Quests that come after it are "Crystalline Seashelf" quest, "Remove Enchantments from Pool" quest and "Heart-Forged Seashelf" quest.[22]
- "Deepshelf" quest comes after the Glowing Hellshelf and Crystalline Seashelf quests. Its text says this is where the separation of Hellshelves and Seashelves ends, and that Infusing needs 60 Eterna, 40% Quanta and 40% Arcana.[22]
- "Echoing Deepshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Deepshelf" quest both come after the Deepshelf. The text gives the Echoing Deepshelf 15% Arcana and the Soul-Touched Deepshelf 15% Quanta, each with a max Eterna of 75. Their Sculkshelf follow-ups, "Echoing Sculkshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Sculkshelf" quest, are described as having a max Eterna of 80. The text says one ingredient is a Warden drop.[22]
- "Infused Dragon's Breath" quest comes after the two Sculkshelf quests and "Negative Enchantments Removal" quest, which asks for a Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability. The text suggests a set-up giving 80 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 100% Arcana, and says you get Dragon's Breath during the Ender Dragon fight.[22]
- "Endshelves" quest comes next. Its text says the stats aren't currently the best, only 5 for each, but the max Eterna of 90 is incredible. After it come "Draconic Endshelf" quest (the text gives a max Eterna of 100) and "Pearlescent Endshelf" quest (max Eterna 90).[22]
- "Best Enchanting set-up" quest closes the chapter. It asks for the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf, Echoing Sculkshelf, Draconic Endshelf, Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability and Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures.[22]
Infusion side projects and Tomes
"Other Infusion Items" quest opens a group of Infusion goals. Each one asks for a different item, and the quest text gives its own Eterna, Quanta and Arcana targets:[22]
- "Making Budding Amethyst" quest asks for Budding Amethyst. Its text says it needs 60 Eterna.[22]
- "Making a real Trident" quest asks for the Inert Trident, which the text says you Infuse into a normal Trident.[22]
- "Unbreakable Charms" quest is about making charms unbreakable, and its text says it needs 100 Eterna.[22]
- "Crafting EXP?" quest turns Honey Bottles into Bottles O' Enchanting. The text describes three Infusions, giving 1, 8 or 32 bottles.[22]
- "Infinite Echo Shards?" quest turns 1 Echo Shard into 4, and the text says it needs 70 Eterna.[22]
"Tomes" quest comes after Infusing and leads to "Tome of Scrapping" quest, "Armor Tomes" quest, "Tool Tomes" quest, "Weapon Tomes" quest and "ETC. Tomes" quest. The scrapping line then continues with "Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest and a quest in "Apothic Enchanting". The Extraction quest's text says that tome takes off all Enchantments and leaves the item alone.[22]
Storage has its own pair: "Enchantment Library" quest, then "Library of Alexandria" quest, which comes after both the Library and Other Infusion Items. The text says the Library of Alexandria holds more points per book than the Enchantment Library.[22]
Apothic Spawners
This chapter starts with "Apothic Spawners" quest, which asks for a Spawner. Every other visible quest comes right after it, so you can do them in any order. Each one asks for an item, and the text says what that item does to a spawner. The chapter also has one hidden, untitled quest that only shows in editing mode.[30]
- "Minimum Spawn Delay" quest (Sugar) and "Maximum Spawn Delay" quest (Clock) cover the minimum and maximum spawn delay. The text says each can range from 20 to 32,767, changing by 10 per item.[30]
- "Spawn Range" quest asks for a Piston for spawn range, and "Activation Range" quest asks for Prismarine Crystals. The text says activation range runs from 1 block to a 48 block radius.[30]
- "Max Entities" quest (Ghast Tear) is about max entities, which the text says changes by 2 per tear, between 1 and 16. "Spawn Count" quest (Fermented Spider Eye) is about spawn count, which the text says changes by 1 per eye, up to 16.[30]
- "Redstone Active" quest (Comparator) gives the spawner a redstone on/off switch, according to the text. "Ignore Light" quest (Soul Lantern) makes it ignore light levels.[30]
- "Ignore All Conditions" quest (Conduit) is described as ignoring most spawn conditions. "Ignore Players" quest (Nether Star) means, per the text, that players no longer need to be near the spawner as long as its chunk is loaded.[30]
- "No AI" quest (Chorus Fruit) removes the mobs' AI, says the text. "Youthful" quest (Turtle Egg) makes it spawn baby mobs, and the text says that only works with vanilla mobs.[30]
- "Echoing" quest (Echo Shard) multiplies the loot spawned mobs drop, per the text. "Burning" quest (Campfire) spawns them on fire. "Health" quest (Pointed Dripstone) reduces their max health, as low as 20%.[30]
- "Opposite Day" quest (Quartz) makes the other modifier do the opposite, according to the text. "Quiet down you'll wake up the mobs!" quest asks for any wool, which the text says silences the spawner.[30]
Apotheosis in other chapters
- In New Beginning, the text of "Combat" quest mentions Apotheosis as a mod that changes how we do enchanting.[31]
- In Basic Logistics, the text of a quest in "Basic Logistics" uses Apotheosis as its example of a mod filter.[32]
- In The ATM Star chapter, a quest in "The ATM Star" (Miniature End Portal) comes after the Apothic Mods quest. Its text says it needs quite a few Endshelves, and that you need Infused Dragon's Breath to craft them.[29]
