What is Apotheosis?
2 parts
Apotheosis is the mod that turns gear into RPG-style loot. This pack ships version 8.5.4. The Adventure module lets you gear up with procedurally generated items that carry powerful bonuses, and it also brings tougher foes. Its main feature is affixes, bonuses you can put on any item, vanilla or modded.[1][2][3]
Every affix item has a rarity from Common up to Mythic, and higher rarities get stronger and more numerous bonuses. Some items also have sockets, and each socket holds a gem that adds even more. On top of that you get five World Tiers, from Haven to Pinnacle. Higher tiers mean better loot but stronger enemies everywhere in your world.[1][4][5]
Who it is for
If you like chasing better gear and tuning a build, this is for you. The mod aims for RPG-like progression without taking over the game.[1]
Where it fits in this pack
The pack walks you through Apotheosis in its own quest chapter. Here is the path, in order:[6]
- Start with "Apotheosis Adventure" quest. Gems are rare drops from any mob and guaranteed drops from Invaders, so go farm some mobs.[6]
- Turn a gem into Gem Dust by crushing it with a falling anvil. Use the dust to unlock the Salvaging Table.[1][6]
- Use the Salvaging Table to break affix gear down into rarity materials, such as apotheosis:common_material from Common items and apotheosis:mythic_material from Mythic ones.[6][7]
- Build the Simple Reforging Table to reroll affixes. It only reaches Rare. For Epic and above you need to upgrade it into a Reforging Table, and Sigil of Rebirth fuels both.[6][8]
- Sigils such as Sigil of Socketing and Sigil of Unnaming change your gear further, for example by adding sockets or shortening a long name.[6]
- The end-game step is the Augmenting Table. It upgrades or rerolls single affixes and runs on Sigil of Enhancement: a reroll costs 1 sigil and an upgrade costs 2.[6][9]
How do you get started with Apotheosis?
7 parts
Welcome to Apotheosis! It adds Affixes, Gems and World Tiers for an RPG-like feel of progression. Here's a route through the first crafting stations.[1]
Get your first Gem
The quest "Apotheosis Adventure" quest asks for an Gem. It says Gems are rare drops from any mob and confirmed drops from Invaders, and that for now you should farm mobs. Gems can also turn up in chest loot, and real players get better drop chances than machines do.[6][10]
Crush Gems into Gem Dust
Next is "Gem Dust" quest. Smash your Gems with a falling anvil to get Gem Dust. The quest recommends using only Common and Uncommon Gems for this. The mod's own page says your first two dust have to come from an anvil crushing two Gems. After that you can use the Salvaging Table instead.[1][6][11]
Build the Salvaging Table
Your Gem Dust unlocks the Salvaging Table ("Salvaging Table" quest). It breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials, and it gives you Gem Dust from Gems without needing an anvil. The pack's quest notes you can recycle affixed tools and armor, and that the material you get depends on the item's rarity.[6][7]

- Common items give apotheosis:common_material.[7][12]
- Uncommon items give apotheosis:uncommon_material.[7][12]
- Rare items give apotheosis:rare_material.[7][12]
- Epic items give apotheosis:epic_material.[7][12]
- Mythic items give apotheosis:mythic_material.[7][12]
Upgrade Gems at the Gem Cutting Table
The Gem Cutting Table ("Getting better Gems" quest) upgrades a Gem's purity, which makes it stronger. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second Gem of the same purity. JEI shows the exact cost for each upgrade.[6][10][13]

Reforge gear with the Simple Reforging Table
The Simple Reforging Table lets you reforge any valid item, up to Rare rarity. Put the item in the center slot, Rarity Materials in the top-left slot and a Sigil of Rebirth in the bottom-right slot. Similar to an Enchanting Table, you are offered three choices, and the extra choices cost double and triple the base cost.[8]

The fuel is the Sigil of Rebirth. It is crafted using Gem-Fused Slate, which is itself made with Gem Dust.[8][12]

Add Sockets
Gems only work in items that have Sockets. If your gear has none, combine it with a Sigil of Socketing in a Smithing Table. The pack's quest says that can give you up to 2 sockets.[6]

Where to go next
To reforge items of Epic rarity or higher, you need to upgrade to the Reforging Table, which is crafted using apotheosis:epic_material. The end-game station is the Augmenting Table, which upgrades or rerolls single affixes.[8][9][12]

How does Apotheosis work?
6 parts
Apotheosis gear runs on a loop of stations: break down affix items for materials, spend those materials to reforge or augment gear, and use gems for extra bonuses. Each station is a single block with a few input slots.[1][7][8][9]
Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials. Each rarity gives its own material: common gives apotheosis:common_material, uncommon gives apotheosis:uncommon_material, rare gives apotheosis:rare_material, epic gives apotheosis:epic_material and mythic gives apotheosis:mythic_material.[7][12][14]
Crafting Shaped

The same table also turns gems into Gem Dust. Dust is the base ingredient for most of the crafting in this mod.[1][11][12]
Reforging
Reforging gives an item brand new affixes. It works on any valid item, not only ones that already have affixes. You start with the Simple Reforging Table, which handles items up to Rare. For Epic and above you upgrade it into the Reforging Table.[8]

The table has three input slots. The center slot holds the item. The top-left slot holds Rarity Materials for the rarity you want to reforge with. The bottom-right slot holds Sigil of Rebirth, the fuel for reforging.[8][12]

Recipe id: apotheosis:sigil_of_rebirth
Like an Enchanting Table, reforging offers three choices, and none is inherently stronger than the others. Each rarity has a base cost of experience, sigils and materials, and the extra choice slots charge double and triple that base cost. You click the choice you want to reforge. Items can be reforged multiple times.[8]
Augmenting
The Augmenting Table is the end-game station for working on individual affixes. You can upgrade or reroll one affix and leave the rest intact. The upper slot holds the affix item. The guide suggests only augmenting Mythic items, or possibly Epic ones. The lower slot holds Sigil of Enhancement, and you pick the affix from a drop-down menu.[9]

- Upgrade: costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises the internal strength of the chosen affix by 25%. How much that helps depends on the affix.[9]
- Reroll: costs one Sigil of Enhancement and swaps the chosen affix for another of the same type. The alternatives are shown on the left.[9]
Gems, sockets and cutting
To socket a gem, combine it with the item in a Smithing Table. Each gem lists the items it fits, and some gems are Unique, so only one copy fits per item. Gems can also be socketed by right-clicking the item while holding the gem over it.[1][10]
To take gems back out, combine the socketed item with a Sigil of Withdrawal in a smithing table. The item and all its gems are returned. If an item has no sockets, the Sigil of Socketing can add one.[1][10]

The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. Higher purity costs more dust and higher-tier materials, and the exact cost shows in JEI. A Perfect gem can't be upgraded any further.[10][13]

Gem Case
The Gem Case is your bulk storage for gems. It holds up to thirty two thousand gems of each type and purity, and can be upgraded to hold more. It has a name filter and an item filter, which searches for gems that fit a specific item.[15]
It also has six auxiliary slots for upgrade materials. If the materials and gems are present, you can upgrade gems right inside the case, following the purity upgrade recipes. The guide says this effectively obsoletes the Gem Cutting Table.[15]

How do you progress through Apotheosis?
8 parts
Apotheosis progression in this pack runs on two tracks at once. The first is gear: you collect gems, make Gem Dust, build crafting stations and push your affixed items up the rarity ladder. The second is World Tiers, which control what the world throws at you. The quest book sets out the early steps of the gear track, so we'll follow its order.[6][17]
Early game: gems and Gem Dust
- Start with "Apotheosis Adventure" quest. The quest says gear starts with an Gem. Gems are rare drops from any mob and confirmed drops from Invaders. You'll learn more about Invaders later, so for now the quest just tells you to farm mobs.[6]
- Next is "Gem Dust" quest. The quest says to smash a gem with a falling Anvil to get Gem Dust, and it recommends Common and Uncommon gems for this.[6]
- After that comes "Getting better Gems" quest, the Gem Cutting Table. According to the quest, using 2 of the same gem plus rarity materials raises a gem's rarity, and that increases its power.[6]
- Then comes the Salvaging Table ("Salvaging Table" quest). The quest says it can get you materials and Gem Dust without Anvils, and that you can recycle affixed tools and armor into materials based on the item's rarity.[6]

Rarity materials
Each rarity has its own material, made by putting items of that rarity in a Salvaging Table. The quests also say which World Tiers each rarity shows up in:[6][12]
- Common gives apotheosis:common_material. The quest says it shows up most in Haven and stops appearing after Summit ("Mysterious Scrap Metals" quest).[6]
- Uncommon gives apotheosis:uncommon_material. The quest says it starts appearing in Haven, is most abundant in Frontier and stops in Pinnacle ("Timeworn Fabric" quest).[6]
- Rare gives apotheosis:rare_material. The quest says it appears in all World Tiers and is most common in Ascent ("Luminous Crystal Shard" quest).[6]
- Epic gives apotheosis:epic_material. The quest says it appears after Frontier and is most common in Pinnacle ("Arcane Sands" quest).[6]
- Mythic gives apotheosis:mythic_material. The quest says it is found only in Summit and Pinnacle, where it is most common in Pinnacle ("Godforged Pearl" quest).[6]
Affix tables
The Simple Reforging Table ("Simple Reforging Table" quest) works like an Enchanting Table, but for affixes. Put the item in the center slot and a rarity material in the left slot. The material decides the rarity of the affix you get, and you pick from 3 choices. This table can only give up to Rare affixes.[6]

The end-game station is the Augmenting Table ("Augmenting Table" quest). The quest says you can reroll affixes, choose a specific affix, or upgrade set affixes. Each reroll costs 1 Sigil of Enhancement and each upgrade costs 2. An upgrade raises the internal strength of the affix by 25%, and the in-game guide suggests typically using the table on items of at least Mythic rarity, though Epic ones are worth considering.[6][9]

Sigils
The "Vials and Sigils" quest quest introduces sigils, which change affixed items and are used in a Smithing Table, Reforging Table or Augmenting Table. The Gem-Fused Slate is the quest's task item, and it is an ingredient in most of the sigil recipes.[6][12]
- Sigil of Socketing ("Sigil of Socketing" quest): the quest says combining it with your item in a Smithing Table can get you up to 2 sockets.[6]
- Sigil of Withdrawal ("Sigil of Withdrawal" quest): the quest says it separates the gem from an affixed tool in a Smithing Table, so you keep both.[6]
- Sigil of Unnaming ("Sigil of Unnaming" quest): the quest says it gets rid of most of a long affixed name. Only the material, item type and rarity color stay.[6]
- Sigil of Rebirth ("Sigil of Rebirth" quest): the quest calls it the fuel for all the Reforging Tables.[6]
- Sigil of Enhancement ("Sigil of Enhancement" quest): the quest calls it the fuel for the Augmenting Table.[6]

Two sigils can't be crafted. The quest for Sigil of Malice (a quest in "Apotheosis Gear") says no one knows how to craft it and that rumors say Invaders drop it. Some players found it made one affix stronger while they lost another. The quest for Sigil of Supremacy (a quest in "Apotheosis Gear") says it can make every affix stronger without sacrificing any, and that you can obtain it by beating 100 waves of the gateway of Apothic Invaders.[6]

World Tiers
There are five World Tiers: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. A tier is a per-player modifier that changes which content shows up, how strong enemies are, and how common each rarity is. Higher rarity items and Invaders become more common as you progress.[17]
- Haven is enabled by default, but you won't see it until you pick up your first Affix Item.[18]
- Frontier needs an Affix Item in each armor slot and an Affixed Weapon in either hand.[18]
- Ascent needs a full set of Uncommon Affix Items including a weapon, and you must slay an Apothic Invader.[18]
- Summit needs a full set of Rare Affix Items, and you must have slain the Wither.[18]
- Pinnacle needs a full set of Epic items, and you must slay the Ender Dragon.[18]
Those are the default requirements listed in the in-game guide, which notes that modpacks may change them. It points you to the Apothic World Tiers advancements tab for the complete information.[18]
Enchanting Table levels
Alongside gear, the in-game guide lays out a separate climb for your Enchanting Table. Level 30 comes the usual way, with fifteen bookshelves. Level 45 needs Hellshelves, or Seashelves if you'd rather avoid the Nether. Level 60 means infusing and upgrading your shelves. Level 70 needs Deepslate and a Deepshelf, and level 75 needs Deep Dark materials. Level 80 requires slaying the Warden to craft Sculkshelves. Level 90 needs Infused Dragon's Breath for Endshelves, and level 100 needs a Dragon Head from the outer End to make a Draconic Endshelf.[20][21][22][23]
Gem storage upgrade
The Gem Case ("Gem Case" quest) stores gems, and each unique gem and purity can hold up to 32768. It can also work as a Gem Cutting Table. The infusion upgrade, the Gem Case of House Fabergé ("Gem Case of House Fabergé" quest), raises that to 2.1 billion of each unique gem. The quest says the infusion uses a Draconic Endshelf among its shelves.[24]

How does Apotheosis work with other mods?
3 parts
In this pack, Apotheosis connects to Create through the Create: Enchantment Industry add-on. Its recipes take Apotheosis items as inputs, and the pack's recipe dump marks every one of them as changed by the pack. Here are the recipes that tie them together.[12]
Dissolving Apotheosis materials into essence
Create mixing recipes turn your Apotheosis salvage into essences from the add-on. Every rarity material dissolves into Apotheotic Essence, and Gem Dust dissolves into Crystal Essence.[12]
- apotheosis:common_material dissolves into Apotheotic Essence.[12]
- apotheosis:uncommon_material dissolves into Apotheotic Essence.[12]
- apotheosis:rare_material dissolves into Apotheotic Essence.[12]
- apotheosis:epic_material dissolves into Apotheotic Essence.[12]
- apotheosis:mythic_material dissolves into Apotheotic Essence.[12]
- Gem Dust dissolves into Crystal Essence.[12]
You get the rarity materials from the Salvaging Table, which breaks down affixed gear. Gem Dust comes from smashing a gem with a falling anvil, or from the Salvaging Table.[6]

Which All the Mons quests use Apotheosis?
4 parts
Apotheosis shows up in two quest chapters in this pack: "Apotheosis Gear" and "Apothic Enchanting". The first starts with a single Gem and ends with the quest for the Augmenting Table. The second is about storing Gems.[6][24]
Apotheosis Gear: the starting line
Everything begins with "Apotheosis Adventure" quest, where you hand in an Gem. The quest says Gems are rare drops from any mob and confirmed drops from Invaders, and for now it tells you to farm mobs. Next comes "Gem Dust" quest. The quest says you get Gem Dust by smashing a Gem with a falling Anvil, and it recommends only Common and Uncommon Gems for this.[6]
After Gem Dust, the chapter splits into several branches. "Getting better Gems" quest asks for the Gem Cutting Table, which the quest says is used to change the rarity of your Gems. "Simple Reforging Table" quest asks for the Simple Reforging Table. "Vials and Sigils" quest asks for a Gem-Fused Slate and leads into the sigil quests. "Salvaging Table" quest asks for the Salvaging Table. It also comes after a quest called "Applying Gems (and others)", which isn't covered in the sources I have.[6]
Rarity materials
After the Salvaging Table come five rarity quests. Each one asks for the material that the quest says is made from using items of that rarity in a Salvaging Table. In order of rarity they are:[6]
- "Mysterious Scrap Metals" quest asks for apotheosis:common_material.[6]
- "Timeworn Fabric" quest asks for apotheosis:uncommon_material.[6]
- "Luminous Crystal Shard" quest asks for apotheosis:rare_material.[6]
- "Arcane Sands" quest asks for apotheosis:epic_material.[6]
- "Godforged Pearl" quest asks for apotheosis:mythic_material.[6]
"(Better) Reforging Table" quest comes after both "Arcane Sands" quest and "Simple Reforging Table" quest. It asks for the Reforging Table, which the quest says can give Epic and Mythic affixes as well. The quest for the simple table says it can only get up to Rare affixes.[6]
Sigil quests
These quests come after "Vials and Sigils" quest. Each one asks you to obtain a sigil:[6]
- "Sigil of Enhancement" quest (Sigil of Enhancement): the quest calls it the fuel for the Augmenting Table, with a reroll costing 1 and an upgrade costing 2.[6]
- "Sigil of Socketing" quest (Sigil of Socketing): combined with an item in a Smithing Table, you can get up to 2 sockets.[6]
- "Sigil of Rebirth" quest (Sigil of Rebirth): the quest calls it fuel for all the Reforging Tables.[6]
- "Sigil of Unnaming" quest (Sigil of Unnaming): combined with an affixed item in a Smithing Table, it gets rid of most of the item's name.[6]
- "Sigil of Withdrawal" quest (Sigil of Withdrawal): used with an affixed tool in a Smithing Table, it separates the Gem from the tool so you keep both.[6]
- a quest in "Apotheosis Gear" (Sigil of Malice): the quest says no one knows how to craft it and that rumors point to Invader drops. It also says some players lost an affix from gear they used it on, making a different affix stronger.[6]
"Augmenting Table" quest needs both "Sigil of Enhancement" quest and "Godforged Pearl" quest. It asks for the Augmenting Table, where the quest says you can reroll affixes, choose a specific affix, or upgrade set affixes.[6]
a quest in "Apotheosis Gear" asks for the Sigil of Supremacy. It shows no prerequisite in the sources. The quest says it cannot be crafted and that you can obtain it by beating 100 waves of the Gateway of Apothic Invaders. It says the sigil can make every affix on the gear stronger without sacrificing any.[6]
Apothic Enchanting: Gem storage
"Gem Case" quest asks for the Gem Case, which stores Gems. The quest says it can hold up to 32,768 of each unique Gem and purity. It can also be used as a Gem Cutting Table, upgrading 2 Gems to the next purity.[24]
"Gem Case of House Fabergé" quest follows it and asks for the Gem Case of House Fabergé. The quest says it can hold 2.1 Billion of each unique Gem and that you get it by infusing the Gem Case. The quest also comes after one called "Other Infusion Items", which isn't covered in the sources I have.[24]
