ExtraStorage is a mod in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2, where it is version 4.0.7. Add new blocks to Refined Storage, like more advanced crafters (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is ExtraStorage?

2 parts

ExtraStorage is an addon for Refined Storage that gives your network more automation and storage options. This pack includes version 4.0.7 of the mod.[1][2]

What it adds

  • Four upgraded Autocrafter tiers, each with faster crafting speeds and increased pattern capacity.[1]
  • Advanced Importers and Exporters with 18 filter slots, double the standard.[1]
  • Larger storage for items and fluids, including high-capacity Storage Disks, Storage Blocks and Fluid Storage Blocks. The quest book tracks the storage parts, from the 256k Storage Part up to the 1048576k Fluid Storage Part.[1][3]

Where it sits in the quest book

In this pack's quest book, the quests that ask for ExtraStorage items have no chapter of their own. They sit inside the Refined Storage chapter, in the group Storage and Power (chapter 16 of 44 in the book, with 68 quests), mixed in with the quests for Refined Storage and other addons.[3]

The quest book asks you to build the crafter line after "Alexa ! Craft for me" quest, which asks for the Refined Storage crafter. Next it asks for the Iron Crafter in a quest in "Refined Storage", then the Gold Crafter in a quest in "Refined Storage" and the Diamond Crafter in a quest in "Refined Storage". The line ends at the Netherite Crafter in a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]

The quest book continues the Refined Storage item storage part line with ExtraStorage parts. a quest in "Refined Storage" follows the 64k Storage Part quest, then the book asks for a quest in "Refined Storage", a quest in "Refined Storage" and finally a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]

The fluid parts follow the same pattern in the quest book. a quest in "Refined Storage" follows the 4096k Fluid Storage Part quest, then the book asks for a quest in "Refined Storage" and a quest in "Refined Storage", ending at a quest in "Refined Storage".[3]

How do you get started with ExtraStorage?

3 parts

ExtraStorage is an addon for Refined Storage, so your first job is a basic Refined Storage network. In this pack's quest book, that is the "Refined Storage" chapter in the "Storage and Power" group (chapter 16 of 44). Work through "Getting Started" quest, then a quest in "Refined Storage", "Core of Refined Storage" quest and "Please Insert Disk" quest. The ExtraStorage items sit in this same chapter, branching off those quests.[1][3]

Step 1: Bigger storage

Your first ExtraStorage storage tier is the 256k Storage Part, which the book gives you in a quest in "Refined Storage" right after the 64k Storage Part quest. Craft the part first.[3][4]

Then turn it into a 256k Storage Disk for your disk drive. The pack has a shaped and a shapeless recipe for each disk, and both give the same result.[4]

From there the book climbs one tier at a time: 1024k Storage Part, 4096k Storage Part and 16384k Storage Part. The fluid line is a separate chain, and it continues with 16384k Fluid Storage Part after the 4096k Fluid Storage Part quest.[3]

Step 2: The Iron Crafter

ExtraStorage adds 4 upgraded autocrafter tiers, each with faster crafting and more pattern capacity. The first is the Iron Crafter, and a quest in "Refined Storage" comes right after "Alexa ! Craft for me" quest, the quest for the standard Refined Storage crafter.[1][3]

Step 3: Neural Processors and higher crafters

The Gold, Diamond and Netherite crafters all need a Neural Processor, so make some before you climb the tiers. You craft a Raw Neural Processor first, then smelt it.[4]

How does ExtraStorage work?

5 parts

ExtraStorage is an addon for Refined Storage. It adds upgraded autocrafters, Advanced Importers and Exporters, and much bigger storage for both items and fluids. Here is how those pieces work in this pack.[1]

Crafters

The mod adds 4 upgraded Autocrafter tiers. Each one crafts faster and holds more patterns than the last. In this pack they are the Iron Crafter, Gold Crafter, Diamond Crafter and Netherite Crafter.[1][5]

Hover over a crafter and the tooltip shows how many pattern slots it has. Hold Shift for more details. If you use Jade, there is also an option to enable custom visualization for the crafters.[5]

The upgrade path is a straight ladder: Iron, then Gold, then Diamond, then Netherite. The Gold, Diamond and Netherite recipes each use the previous tier's crafter as their base.[4]

Neural Processors

The Gold, Diamond and Netherite crafters all need a Neural Processor. You make one by smelting a Raw Neural Processor. The mod has a plain smelting recipe for this, and the pack adds a second route through an Ender IO alloy smelter.[4]

Advanced Importers and Exporters

The Advanced Importer and Advanced Exporter each have 18 filter slots, double the standard number. The mod's advancement text describes the exporter as "A much larger exporter!"[1][5]

Storage tiers

Item storage comes in 256k, 1024k, 4096k and 16384k sizes. Fluid storage comes in 16384k, 65536k, 262144k and 1048576k sizes. Every size has a matching Storage Part, Storage Disk and Storage Block.[5]

The flow is part first, then disk. A part is crafted by stepping up from a smaller part. For example, the 1024k Storage Part is built from a 256k part. A disk then takes a part of its own size, in one of two ways. You can craft it shapeless with a Storage Housing, or shaped with glass and other materials.[4]

Where the pack reuses ExtraStorage parts

The pack's endgame recipes use ExtraStorage items as ingredients for other mods' top-tier items:[6][7]

How do you progress through ExtraStorage?

6 parts

ExtraStorage adds bigger storage parts and extra crafter tiers on top of Refined Storage, and the pack's quest book handles them inside the Refined Storage chapter (group "Storage and Power"). So you climb these tiers as part of your normal Refined Storage progression.[3][4]

Crafter tiers

The crafter line starts after the quest "Alexa ! Craft for me" quest, which asks for the normal Refined Storage crafter. From there the book gives you a straight chain: a quest in "Refined Storage", then a quest in "Refined Storage", then a quest in "Refined Storage", and finally a quest in "Refined Storage".[3][4]

The recipes follow the same ladder. The Iron Crafter is built from a regular Refined Storage crafter, and every tier after that is built from the previous crafter plus a Neural Processor.[4]

The Neural Processor

The Neural Processor is the gate for the Gold, Diamond and Netherite crafters. You first craft a Raw Neural Processor, then turn it into the finished processor. The mod's own recipe is a normal smelting recipe, and the pack adds a second route through an EnderIO alloy smelter for the same result.[4]

Item storage parts

The quest book walks you up the item storage parts in order. The early ones are plain Refined Storage parts, and ExtraStorage takes over from there:[3][4]

  1. a quest in "Refined Storage" comes after the 64k Storage Part quest and asks for 256k Storage Part.[3][4]
  2. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for 1024k Storage Part.[3][4]
  3. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for 4096k Storage Part.[3][4]
  4. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for 16384k Storage Part, the last item part in the chain.[3][4]

Each part recipe needs the part from the tier below it, so you can't skip steps. Here is the first one:[4]

Fluid storage parts

Fluids have their own ladder. The Refined Storage fluid parts go up to 4096k, then ExtraStorage continues the chain:[3][4]

  1. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for 16384k Fluid Storage Part.[3][4]
  2. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for 65536k Fluid Storage Part.[3][4]
  3. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for 262144k Fluid Storage Part.[3][4]
  4. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for 1048576k Fluid Storage Part, the top fluid tier.[3][4]

Disks and blocks

Once you have a part, you can turn it into a disk or a storage block. Every disk tier, for example the 256k Storage Disk, has both a shaped and a shapeless recipe in the recipe dump. The storage blocks, such as the 256k Storage Block, are crafted from the matching part. The same pattern repeats for the item and fluid tiers.[4]

Endgame: creative Refined Storage items

The pack uses top-tier ExtraStorage items as ingredients for its creative Refined Storage items. These are Extended Crafting table recipes added by the pack's own scripts, not part of the mod's defaults. Here are the creative storage disk and the creative fluid storage disk:[6][7]

Added by the pack's own script.

Added by the pack's own script.

The creative portable grid, the creative wireless crafting grid and the creative wireless crafting monitor all use the 4096k Storage Block and the Neural Processor in their recipes. The quest book lists the creative disk, creative storage block and creative wireless grid and monitor items at the start of the Refined Storage chapter.[3][8][9][10]

How does ExtraStorage work with other mods?

3 parts

ExtraStorage is an addon for Refined Storage, so almost every connection it has in this pack runs through Refined Storage. The ExtraStorage parts, disks and blocks are all crafted from Refined Storage items. The big creative storage items then flow back the other way, and ExtraStorage items go into them.[1][4]

Built from Refined Storage

The storage part recipes lean on Advanced Processor and Quartz Enriched Iron. The chain climbs step by step, and the first ExtraStorage tier, the 256k Storage Part, is made from Refined Storage's own 64k Storage Part. Here is that recipe:[4]

Disks come in two flavours. There is a shaped recipe and a shapeless one that uses a Storage Housing plus the matching part. Storage blocks are built around a Machine Casing. The Neural Processor starts as a Raw Neural Processor, and that raw item is crafted from Refined Storage's raw processors and a Processor Binding.[4]

Creative items and the Energy Condenser MK2

This is where the pack ties ExtraStorage to a lot of other mods. The pack adds Extended Crafting shaped table recipes for several creative Refined Storage items. Four of them (Creative Portable Grid, Creative Wireless Grid, Creative Wireless Fluid Grid and Creative Wireless Crafting Monitor), plus Creative Wireless Crafting Grid from the Refined Storage addon, all need an ExtraStorage 4096k Storage Block and a Neural Processor. They also need a Infinity 4.[4][8][11]

One of the creative grids the pack adds, made with ExtraStorage parts.

The Creative Wireless Universal Grid goes a step further. It needs an ExtraStorage 16384k Storage Block and a Neural Processor, and it also needs the other creative wireless grids and monitors as ingredients.[4]

The two creative disks use ExtraStorage disks and parts as ingredients. The Creative Storage Disk takes a 16384k Storage Disk and a 16384k Storage Part. The Creative Fluid Storage Disk takes a 1048576k Fluid Storage Disk and a 1048576k Fluid Storage Part. Both also pull in items from several other mods, such as the Capacitor, the Endest Pearl and the Rainbow Furnace, and both need an Energy Condenser MK2.[4][6][7]

That condenser is itself changed by the pack. Its recipe is an Extended Crafting shaped table recipe that uses an ExtraStorage 16384k Storage Part alongside items from many other mods. So you need ExtraStorage parts before you can make either creative disk.[4]

In the quest book

ExtraStorage has no chapter of its own. Its items sit inside the Refined Storage chapter, which is in the group Storage and Power (chapter 16 of 44 in the book). Eight of that chapter's 68 quests are not covered here, so check the quest book for those.[3]

Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use ExtraStorage?

3 parts

In the pack's quest book, every quest that asks for an ExtraStorage item sits in the "Refined Storage" chapter, in the "Storage and Power" group. They form the tail ends of three chains: crafters, item storage parts and fluid storage parts. Each of these quests has an item task for you to hand in.[3]

The crafter chain

This chain hangs off the auto-crafting branch. "Auto-Crafting" quest comes after "Core of Refined Storage" quest and a quest in "Refined Storage", and "Alexa ! Craft for me" quest follows it. The quests asking for the ExtraStorage crafters continue from there, in this order:[3]

  1. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks you to obtain the Iron Crafter. It comes after Alexa ! Craft for me.[3]
  2. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks you to obtain the Gold Crafter.[3]
  3. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks you to obtain the Diamond Crafter.[3]
  4. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks you to obtain the Netherite Crafter.[3]

The item storage part chain

The storage part quests start with "Please Insert Disk" quest, then run through the Refined Storage part quests: a quest in "Refined Storage", a quest in "Refined Storage", a quest in "Refined Storage" and a quest in "Refined Storage". The ExtraStorage quests follow the 64k part quest:[3]

  1. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the 256k Storage Part.[3]
  2. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the 1024k Storage Part.[3]
  3. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the 4096k Storage Part.[3]
  4. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the 16384k Storage Part.[3]

The fluid storage part chain

Fluids have their own line of quests, also starting from Please Insert Disk. It goes through a quest in "Refined Storage", a quest in "Refined Storage", a quest in "Refined Storage" and a quest in "Refined Storage", which ask for Refined Storage parts. The quests asking for ExtraStorage parts follow:[3]

  1. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the 16384k Fluid Storage Part, after the 4096k fluid part quest.[3]
  2. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the 65536k Fluid Storage Part.[3]
  3. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the 262144k Fluid Storage Part.[3]
  4. a quest in "Refined Storage" asks for the 1048576k Fluid Storage Part.[3]
Tip: You need the earlier Refined Storage quests first. The crafters sit behind Auto-Crafting and the storage parts sit behind Please Insert Disk, so get your controller and disk drive set up before you chase the big parts.[3]

What changed in ExtraStorage between versions?

1 part

ExtraStorage is at version 4.0.7 in this pack (the ExtraStorage-1.20.1-4.0.7.jar file). It was already in the pack by Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.45.4, possibly earlier, so the pack's version history doesn't pin down exactly when it first arrived.[2]

Mod changelog

  • 4.0.7: the only entry is a fix for Jade, the mod's tooltip integration. The changelog gives no further detail on what changed.[15]

There are no pack changelog entries for ExtraStorage, so nothing in the pack's own release notes says the pack changed this mod.[2]
