What is Powah!?
1 part
Powah! is a tech mod about generating, storing and transmitting energy. Beyond its generators, it adds Energy Cables, Energy Cells, an upgradable Ender Network, Player Transmitters and the Energizing crafting system. This pack includes Powah! 6.2.10.[1][2]
Where it sits in the quest book
Powah! lives in the Logistics chapter, in the group Resources & Logistics. It is chapter 9 of 31 in the book. The chapter opens with a general overview quest, "General Logistics" quest, and then covers many transfer mods side by side, such as Pipez, Mekanism, EnderIO and Flux Networks.[3]
The Powah! branch starts at "Managing Power With Powah!" quest, which asks for Dielectric Paste to craft the first components. Six quests come after it:[3]
- "Energy Cables" quest: the basic cables for moving energy between machines.[3]
- "Energy Cells" quest: Energy Cells for storage, plus Batteries you can charge from them.[3]
- "Ender Cells" quest: wireless storage on a frequency, reachable from any dimension.[3]
- a quest in "Logistics": Ender Gates, which transfer power wirelessly from your Ender Cell network.[3]
- "Energizing Orb" quest: the Energizing Orb and Energizing Rods, used to create the different tiers of items in the mod.[3]
- a quest in "Logistics": Player Transmitters and the Binding Card, which power the items in your inventory.[3]
These quests only show the Powah! branch. The Logistics chapter has 57 quests and the rest of its text is in the quest book, so check it there for anything not covered here.[3]
How do you get started with Powah!?
5 parts
Powah! is all about moving, storing and using energy. In this pack's quest book it sits in the Logistics chapter (group "Resources & Logistics", chapter 9 of 31). The quest "Managing Power With Powah!" quest is where it starts, and the other Powah quests come after it. Here is the order I'd go in.[3]
Step one: Dielectric Paste
The first quest asks for Dielectric Paste, which you need to craft the initial components. There are two recipes for it, so use whichever fits the items you have on hand.[3][4]

Step two: the Manual
Next, make the Manual (Powah!). The mod's own project page points to the Manual as the best explanation of its content, and it only needs paste plus a book.[1][4]
Step three: Energizing Orb and Rods
The Energizing Orb is how you create the different tiers of items in the mod, so it is your next goal. The quest "Energizing Orb" quest covers it.[3]
Crafting Shaped

The orb needs power going into Energizing Rods near it, such as Energizing Rod (Starter). In this pack the range is set to 4 blocks in general.energizing_range. The orb needs no energy itself, but the rods must sit on cables or another FE block. Basic rods struggle to make higher tier materials like Niotic Crystals, so plan to upgrade them as you progress.[3][5][6]
Step four: Energized Steel
You make Energized Steel by energizing. The pack changes this recipe from the mod's version, so use the in-pack one shown here.[4]
Step five: storage
Once power is flowing, the quest "Energy Cells" quest covers Energy Cells such as Energy Cell (Starter), and Batteries you can charge from them. Batteries can then charge items in your inventory in the early game. A starter battery holds 1,000,000 in this pack's config.[3][6]

From there, the quest book branches into "Energy Cables" quest, "Ender Cells" quest for wireless storage, and a quest in "Logistics" for charging items in your inventory.[3]
How does Powah! work?
6 parts
Powah! is about generating, storing and moving energy, and everything is measured in FE. Nearly every machine comes in seven tiers: starter, basic, hardened, blazing, niotic, spirited and nitro. All the numbers below are the values this pack sets in its Powah! config, not mod defaults.[1][5][6]
Generators
Every generator produces more FE/t as you go up the tiers. Here is what each one burns or needs, with the starter and nitro values from the pack config.[6][7]
- Furnator: burns solid furnace fuel like coal or wood. The pack sets general.energy_per_fuel_tick to 30. Higher tiers burn fuel faster but get the same energy per fuel tick. Generation runs from 20 (starter) to 40,000 (nitro), and capacity from 20,000 to 40,000,000.[6][7]
- Magmator: runs on high temperature fluids like lava. Generation runs from 10 (starter) to 40,000 (nitro), and capacity from 2,000 to 4,000,000.[6][8]
- Solar Panel: generates while exposed to sunlight, and any block above it that stops light stops production. Generation runs from 20 (starter) to 2,000 (nitro), and capacity from 20,000 to 40,000,000.[6][9]
- Thermo Generator: must sit on top of a high temperature block or fluid like lava, and it needs a coolant fluid like water to run. Generation runs from 20 (starter) to 2,000 (nitro), and capacity from 20,000 to 40,000,000.[6][10]
A Lens Of Ender applied to a Solar Panel lets it see through blocks. You get the lens by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Photoelectric Pane, and the pack keeps that enabled with general.lens_of_ender set to true.[6][11][12]
The Reactor multiblock
The Reactor is a multiblock generator that uses Uraninite as its main fuel. To build it, hold 36 Reactor blocks and place them in a 3x4 replaceable area. The reactor then finishes building itself. It stops when it is full and starts again when it has less than 70% of its energy.[12][13]
In the pack config the generation rate runs from 250 (starter) to 500,000 (nitro), and capacity runs from 250,000 to 500,000,000.[6]
Dry Ice is mainly used to cool reactors. You can find it underground below level 64, or make it by energizing two pieces of blue ice.[14]
Uraninite Ore generates underground in deposits of 1 to 5 blocks, below level 64 for poor, below 20 for normal and below 0 for dense. You need an iron or better pickaxe. The in-game guide says the ore drops Raw Uraninite, but this pack overrides the loot tables: the ores drop uranium dust instead. Poor ore gives 1, normal ore gives 2, and dense ore gives twice as many as normal ore. Fortune applies. The deepslate versions follow the same counts. Silk Touch still gives you the ore block itself.[15][16][17][18][19][20][21]
Unverified Whether uranium dust works as Reactor fuel in this pack is not confirmed by the available sources.
Cables, cells and the Wrench
Energy Cables move power between machines. In the pack config their transfer rate runs from 500 (starter) to 1,000,000 (nitro). To change a cable's transfer mode, right-click it with the Wrench in Config mode.[6][22]
The Wrench has three modes. Config mode changes cable I/O. Link mode links linkable blocks like the Energizing Orb and rods. Rotate mode rotates blocks horizontally.[23]
Energy Cells just store FE. Capacity runs from 1,000,000 (starter) to 2,000,000,000 (nitro), and the transfer rate from 1,000 to 2,000,000. Batteries, Energy Dischargers, Energy Hoppers and Player Transmitters use the same capacity range.[6][24]
The pack makes the creative Energy Cell from a nitro Energy Cell plus a Creative Ascension item.[4]
The Ender network
An Ender Cell stores energy in a specific channel of its owner's ender network. You can reach that channel from anywhere in the world, as long as the Ender Cell you are moving power from or to has an active channel with a valid capacity.[25]
Ender Gates move energy between the adjacent block and the ender network. Unlike an Ender Cell, you cannot upgrade the network from a gate. In the pack config, both cells and gates get more channels as the tier goes up: 1 on starter, 2 on basic, 3 on hardened, 5 on blazing, 7 on niotic, 9 on spirited and 12 on nitro. Ender Cell transfer runs from 1,000 to 2,000,000, and Ender Gate transfer from 500 to 1,000,000.[6][26]
To upgrade a channel's capacity, Shift-click a Battery or an Energy Cell onto the Ender Cell GUI. If the item holds energy, that energy is applied to the channel too.[12][24][27]
Charging items
- Batteries charge items while they are in your inventory.[27]
- Energy Hopper: charges chargeable items in an adjacent inventory, like a chest. Its charging rate runs from 500 (starter) to 1,000,000 (nitro).[6][28]
- Energy Discharger: drains FE out of charged items into an internal buffer. You then connect cables to pull that power back out and reuse it.[29]
- Player Transmitter: charges items wirelessly in a linked player's inventory, including armor slots and the off-hand. Its charging rate runs from 500 (starter) to 1,000,000 (nitro).[6][30]
A Player Transmitter needs a card bound to you. A normal Binding Card works within the same dimension, and a Dimensional Binding Card works across dimensions. Right-click the card to bind it first, then add it to the transmitter. You get the dimensional card by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Binding Card, which the pack allows with general.dimensional_binding_card set to true.[6][12][30][31][32]
The Player Aerial Pearl, used to craft the Player Transmitter, comes from using an Aerial Pearl on a Zombie or Husk. The pack keeps general.player_aerial_pearl enabled.[6][12][33]
Crafting Shaped

Energizing
The Energizing Orb energizes items. It needs at least one Energizing Rod within range, and the guide describes that range as 9x9. The pack config sets general.energizing_range to 4. The orb needs no energy itself, but the rods must sit on cables or another FE block. Energizing speed depends on how many rods you have and their tier.[5][6]
Rod capacity runs from 10,000 (starter) to 20,000,000 (nitro), and rod transfer rate from 100 to 200,000. Use the Wrench's Link mode to link the orb and its rods.[5][6][23]

How do you progress through Powah!?
4 parts
Powah! works differently in this pack. The pack has removed all methods of generating energy with it, so you won't build a power plant from this mod. What it's still great for is moving and storing the power you make elsewhere, and that is the whole progression: climbing the tiers of cables, cells, batteries and transmitters.[3]
Where it sits in the quest book
Everything starts with "Managing Power With Powah!" quest in the Logistics chapter (group "Resources & Logistics", chapter 9 of 31 in the book). It asks you for Dielectric Paste, which you need to craft the first components. The Getting Started chapter also points you at Powah! once you have some energy going, in the a quest in "Getting Started" quest.[3][34]

Six quests branch off after that first one:[3]
- "Energy Cables" quest: Powah cables can be faster than Mekanism cables when connected individually, but they have no storage buffer and don't get faster by connecting more of them together.[3]
- "Energy Cells" quest: store power in Energy Cells, and craft Batteries that you charge from the Cells to power items in your inventory early on.[3]
- "Ender Cells" quest: Ender Cells store power on a frequency you can reach from any dimension with another Ender Cell or an Ender Gate.[3]
- a quest in "Logistics": Ender Gates go on a machine to feed it power wirelessly, but only if your Ender Cell network has enough power.[3]
- a quest in "Logistics": Player Transmitters power items in your inventory once you put a claimed Binding Card inside. Using the card on an Enderman makes a Dimensional Binding Card, which works across dimensions.[3]
- "Energizing Orb" quest: the Energizing Orb, which is how you make the higher tier materials.[3]
The tier ladder
The quests ask for any one of the same tiers across cables, cells, batteries, gates, transmitters and rods. In order they are Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro.[3]
Making higher tier materials
Basic tiers can be made from iron, but the stronger alloys and crystals come from the Energizing Orb. The quest says you need power going into Energizing Rods within 4 blocks of the Orb, and the rods zap power into it to energize the items. The in-game guide adds that the Orb needs at least one rod in range, that more rods and higher rod tiers make it faster, and that the rods must sit on cables or another FE block.[3][5]

How does Powah! work with other mods?
3 parts
Powah! plays a specific role in this pack: the quest book says every method of generating energy with it has been removed, so it is there to store and move the power you make with other mods. Most of its links to other mods are in the quest book and in a handful of recipes that mix Powah items with items from elsewhere.[3]
Where it sits in the quest book
Powah lives in the Logistics chapter (group "Resources & Logistics", chapter 9 of 31), alongside the other pipe and cable mods. That chapter also has quests for "Pipez" quest, "Mekanism" quest, "EnderIO" quest, "Integrated Dynamics" quest and "Flux Networks" quest. Many more quests in this chapter are only in the quest book, so check there for the rest.[3]
The Powah branch starts at "Managing Power With Powah!" quest, which asks for Dielectric Paste. Six quests follow it: "Energy Cables" quest, "Ender Cells" quest, a quest in "Logistics", "Energizing Orb" quest, "Energy Cells" quest and a quest in "Logistics".[3]
The cables quest compares Powah with Mekanism: Powah cables can be faster than Mekanism cables when connected individually, but they have no buffer and their throughput doesn't go up when more cables are connected together.[3]
Recipes that cross over
Productive Bees can centrifuge honeycombs into Powah materials, and each recipe also gives Wax. These are the mod's own recipes, not pack changes. They cover Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Nitro Crystal, Spirited Crystal, Energized Steel and Raw Uraninite.[4]
The pack also added a Powah energizing recipe that turns a Just Dire Things Blazegold Block into a Block Of Blazing Crystal.[4]
Energizing (powah)
Recipe id: ftb:powah/energizing/blazing_crystal_block_with_blaze_gold
Battery (Nitro) goes into the Plutonium Battery from Modern Industrialization. The pack added this recipe for both the EnderIO alloy smelter and the Extended Industrialization alloy smelter.[4]

Recipe id: ftb:compat/modern_industrialization/enderio/alloy/plutonium_battery
Alloy Smelter (extended_industrialization)
Recipe id: ftb:compat/modern_industrialization/extended_mi/alloy/plutonium_battery
Blazing Crystal is also used in a pack-added Gateways recipe for a Gate Pearl.[4]
Gate Recipe (gateways)
Recipe id: gateways:basic/sculk
Dry Ice shows up in two pack-added recipes: Empowered Ice from the Actually Additions empowerer, and Cryofluid from Create mixing.[4]
Empowering (actuallyadditions)
Recipe id: ftb:actuallyadditions/empowering/empowered_ice
Finally, the pack added a shapeless recipe that upgrades a Nitro Energy Cell into Energy Cell (Creative) using Creative Ascension.[4]
Uraninite ore drops
The pack changed the loot tables of Powah's deepslate uraninite ores. Mined without Silk Touch, the poor, normal and dense variants drop the pack's uranium dust instead, with the dense ore giving the most and the poor ore the least, and a Fortune bonus applies. Silk Touch still gives you the ore block itself.[16][17][18]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Powah!?
3 parts
The Powah! quests sit in the Logistics chapter. It is in the group "Resources & Logistics" and is chapter 9 of 31 in the quest book. There they share space with quests for other transfer and storage mods, like Pipez, Mekanism and Flux Networks.[3]
The starting quest
Everything begins with "Managing Power With Powah!" quest. Its only task is to get some Dielectric Paste, which you need to craft the initial components of the mod.[3]
What unlocks after it
The rest of the Powah! quests in the chapter each list the starting quest as the one that comes before them. Here they are in the order the chapter lists them.[3]
- "Energy Cables" quest: asks for an Energy Cable of any tier, from Energy Cable (Starter) to Energy Cable (Nitro). The quest says they can be faster than Mekanism cables when connected individually, but they have no storage buffer and their throughput does not increase with more cables connected together.[3]
- "Ender Cells" quest: asks for an Ender Cell of any tier, from Ender Cell (Starter) to Ender Cell (Nitro). Power pumped into one is stored on a frequency, which can be reached from any dimension through another Ender Cell or an Ender Gate.[3]
- a quest in "Logistics": asks for an Ender Gate of any tier, from Ender Gate (Starter) to Ender Gate (Nitro). You place one on a machine to transfer power wirelessly, and it only works if there is enough power in your Ender Cell network.[3]
- "Energizing Orb" quest: asks for the Energizing Orb and an Energizing Rod of any tier, from Energizing Rod (Starter) to Energizing Rod (Nitro). The Rods need power and must be within 4 blocks of the Orb. The Orb is how you create the different tiers of items in the mod, and the quest warns that Basic Energizing Rods will struggle with higher tier materials like Niotic Crystals.[3]
- "Energy Cells" quest: asks for an Energy Cell of any tier, from Energy Cell (Starter) to Energy Cell (Nitro), plus a Battery of any tier, from Battery (Starter) to Battery (Nitro). You charge the Batteries using the Cells, and the quest says they can then charge items in your inventory in the early game.[3]
- a quest in "Logistics": asks for a Player Transmitter of any tier, from Player Transmitter (Starter) to Player Transmitter (Nitro), and a Binding Card. Use the card in your hand to claim it, then place it in the Transmitter so it powers your inventory. Using the card on an Enderman converts it into a Dimensional Binding Card, which lets the Transmitter work across dimensions.[3]
A mention in Getting Started
Powah! is also named outside the Logistics chapter. In the Getting Started chapter (group "Main Questline", chapter 4 of 31), the quest a quest in "Getting Started" comes after "Proper Materials" quest. Its text says that once you have started generating some energy, you can get into the Powah and Actually Additions mods to craft a Gateway. That Gateway gives you the Sculk Shriekers needed to upgrade your Blazebloom Goo into VoidShimmer Goo.[34]
Which Powah! config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Powah! keeps all its numbers in one file, config/powah.json5, and this pack ships its own copy. It covers a handful of general options plus per-tier values for every generator, cable, cell and gadget. Tiers go from starter through basic, hardened, blazing, niotic and spirited up to nitro, and each step raises the numbers.[35]
Unverified The sources don't include Powah!'s default config values, so this section can't confirm which settings this pack changed from the mod defaults. Every value below is what the pack's config file contains.
General options
- general.energy_per_fuel_tick is set to 30. This is the energy a Furnator produces per fuel tick.[35]
- general.energizing_range is set to 4, and general.energizing_energy_ratio is set to 1.[35]
- general.dimensional_binding_card is on (true). You get a Dimensional Binding card by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Binding card.[35]
- general.lens_of_ender is on (true). You get a Lens Of Ender by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Photoelectric Pane.[35]
- general.player_aerial_pearl is on (true). You get a Player Aerial Pearl by right-clicking a Zombie or Husk with an Aerial Pearl.[35]
Generator output
The generation rates show how far apart the generators get by the top tier. Here they are, from starter to nitro, as the pack sets them.[35]
- Reactors (generators.reactors.generation_rates.starter to generators.reactors.generation_rates.nitro) go from 250 up to 500,000.[35]
- Furnators go from 20 up to 40,000. Their transfer rate goes from 80 up to 160,000.[35]
- Magmators go from 10 up to 40,000. At nitro tier, generators.magmators.transfer_rates.nitro is set to 20,000.[35]
- Solar Panels and Thermo Generators both go from 20 up to 2,000.[35]
Storage and transmission
- Energy Cells and batteries each hold from 1,000,000 at starter to 2,000,000,000 at nitro. Their transfer rates go from 1,000 to 2,000,000.[35]
- Energy Cables (devices.cables.transfer_rates.starter to devices.cables.transfer_rates.nitro) move from 500 up to 1,000,000.[35]
- Ender Cells and Ender Gates both get from 1 channel at starter up to 12 at nitro. Ender Cells transfer from 1,000 to 2,000,000, and Ender Gates from 500 to 1,000,000.[35]
- Player Transmitters charge from 500 up to 1,000,000, set by devices.player_transmitters.charging_rates.starter through devices.player_transmitters.charging_rates.nitro.[35]
- Energizing Rods transfer from 100 at starter up to 200,000 at nitro.[35]
What changed in Powah! between versions?
1 part
Powah! in FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 is version 6.2.10. It has been in the pack for a long time: it was already included in Aero 1.0.3 or earlier, so you have been on Powah! through most of the pack's releases.[2]
Powah! 6.2.10
The only change in this release is a fix: Powah! now registers a default block state for all of its blocks. It was made to resolve a reported issue (#286) and it is the version you get in Aero 1.10.0.[2][36]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for Powah! were available, so any changes the pack itself made to this mod between releases are unverified.
