What is Mekanism Weaponry?
Mekanism Weaponry is part of the pack, which ships version 2.1.5 of the mod. That is the version this guide describes.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what Mekanism Weaponry adds, such as its items, recipes or mechanics, so this guide doesn't list them. I can't confirm who the mod is aimed at or where it fits in the pack's progression.
Unverified No quests tied to this mod were found, and it isn't shown on the ATM Star path. Don't expect the quest book to guide you through it.
If you want to use it, check the in-game item list for items from this mod and look at their recipes there. The in-pack recipes are the ones that count, not what you may remember from other modpacks.[1]
How do you get started with Mekanism Weaponry?
5 parts
Mekanism Weaponry adds weapons, circuits and upgrade chips to the pack. Every recipe below is the in-pack version. Here is the order I'd tackle things in.[2]
Start with the Weapon Workbench
Make the Weapon Workbench first. It's the mod's own block, and it has its own recipe.[2]

Unverified The sources here include no in-jar guidebook and no quest chapter for this mod, so what the Weapon Workbench does in its GUI is not shown. Check it in-game.
Plasma Circuit
Next, make the Plasma Circuit. The Plasma Rifle, the Railgun and the Tesla Minigun all use it in their recipes, so it's the key component for the bigger weapons.[2]

How does Mekanism Weaponry work?
4 parts
The pack's config gives every Mekanism Weaponry weapon its own battery, cooldown and reload time, and some weapons also track heat per shot. You tune them with upgrade chips. The pack changes a few of these numbers from the mod defaults, so I'll flag those as we go.[4]
Energy: every weapon has its own battery
Each weapon stores energy and drains FE from that battery every shot. The config sets how much each one holds, how fast it can charge or discharge, and how much a shot costs. The pack has changed several of these values.[4]
- Gauntlet: holds 10,000 in this pack (mod default 15,000). It charges or discharges at 1,000 and uses 1,000 per shot.[2][4]
- Plasma Rifle: holds 10,000 in this pack (mod default 50,000) and uses 250 per shot (mod default 175). Its transfer rate is 1,000.[2][4]
- Railgun: holds 100,000 in this pack (mod default 75,000). It uses 1,000 per shot and has a transfer rate of 10,000.[2][4]
- Tesla minigun: holds 100,000 in this pack (mod default 75,000) and uses 1,000 per shot (mod default 500). Its transfer rate is 10,000.[4]
The takeaway: the plasma rifle has a much smaller battery here than in the mod's defaults and costs more per shot. The tesla minigun now costs 1,000 per shot, up from 500. Keep that in mind before you head out with a half-charged weapon. The relevant options are [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.plasmaRifleEnergyCapacity]] and [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.teslaMinigunEnergyUsage]].[4]
Cooldown, reload, ammo and heat
Beyond energy, each gun has a cooldown in ticks between shots and a reload time in ticks. The plasma rifle and the tesla minigun also accumulate heat with every shot.[4]
- Plasma rifle: 8 damage, 6 ticks of cooldown, 20 heat per shot and a 45-tick reload. All of these match the mod defaults.[4]
- Railgun: 16 damage, 20 ticks of cooldown, a 55-tick reload and a maximum of 5 ammo. These also match the mod defaults.[4]
- Tesla minigun: 2.5 damage, 4 ticks of cooldown, 5 heat per shot and a 100-tick reload, again all mod defaults.[4]
- Gauntlet: 5 damage, which is the mod default.[4]
The railgun also has a second mode. The pack keeps its stat scaling at 2, the same as the mod default, via [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunSecondModeScale]]. Recoil is switched on in this pack, controlled by [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.enableRecoil]].[4]
Upgrade chips
Chips come in three types, and each type has four tiers. Energy usage chips reduce the energy cost per shot, fire rate chips reduce the cooldown in ticks, and heat per shot chips reduce the heat you build up each shot.[2][3]
- Energy Usage Chip 1 through Energy Usage Chip 4 reduce energy cost per shot.[2][3]
- Fire Rate Chip 1 through Fire Rate Chip 4 reduce the cooldown in ticks.[2][3]
- Heat Per Shot Chip 1 through Heat Per Shot Chip 4 reduce the heat accumulated per shot.[2][3]
Tiers 2 to 4 are crafted by upgrading the previous chip. Here's the first upgrade step for the energy chip. The fire rate and heat chips follow the same pattern, one tier at a time.[2]

Crafting the weapons
The plasma rifle and the railgun both need a Plasma Circuit. The railgun recipe is changed by the pack, so don't rely on the mod's default recipe. Use this one.[2]

How do you progress through Mekanism Weaponry?
5 parts
Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod, so the pack's quest book gives no confirmed route for it. The path below is built from the in-pack recipes instead.
What sets the pace is which tier of Mekanism control circuit a recipe asks for. As you unlock better circuits, you move up through the weapons and chips.[2]
Early tier: Workbench, Gauntlet and Scope
The Weapon Workbench needs an Advanced Control Circuit, Reinforced Alloy and a Steel Casing, so you need to be past the first Mekanism steps before you can make it.[2]

The cheapest weapon is the Gauntlet. Its recipe asks for no control circuit at all, just an Energy Tablet, an HDPE Sheet and an osmium ingot.[2]

Mid tier: Plasma Circuit and Plasma Rifle
The big step up is the Plasma Circuit, which needs an Elite Control Circuit. The Magnetic Circuit is gated the same way, with an Elite Control Circuit in its recipe.[2]

Upgrade chips
The mod has three chip families: Energy Usage, Fire Rate and Heat Per Shot. Each family has four levels. Level 1 is made from a Basic Control Circuit, and each later level uses the previous chip plus the next control circuit tier: Advanced for level 2, Elite for level 3 and Ultimate for level 4.[2]
- Energy Usage: Energy Usage Chip 1, Energy Usage Chip 2, Energy Usage Chip 3, Energy Usage Chip 4[2]
- Fire Rate: Fire Rate Chip 1, Fire Rate Chip 2, Fire Rate Chip 3, Fire Rate Chip 4[2]
- Heat Per Shot: Heat Per Shot Chip 1, Heat Per Shot Chip 2, Heat Per Shot Chip 3, Heat Per Shot Chip 4[2]

How does Mekanism Weaponry work with other mods?
3 parts
Mekanism Weaponry is tightly tied to Mekanism in this pack. Its crafting recipes lean on Mekanism parts such as control circuits, the Energy Tablet, the HDPE Sheet and the Steel Casing. For example, the Gauntlet, the Scope, the Plasma Rifle and the Weapon Workbench all need Mekanism items. Those recipes are the mod's own, not pack edits.[2]
Chip upgrades follow Mekanism's circuit tiers
The weapon upgrade chips come in four levels each: energy usage, fire rate and heat per shot. Level 1 uses the basic Mekanism control circuit. Each higher level takes the previous chip plus the next control circuit tier (advanced, elite, then ultimate). So your progress through Mekanism's circuit tiers sets how far you can upgrade your weapons. Start with Energy Usage Chip 1, Fire Rate Chip 1 or Heat Per Shot Chip 1 and work up to the level 4 chips.[2]
The Plasma Circuit and the Magnetic Circuit both build on the elite Mekanism control circuit. The plasma circuit also shows up in several other recipes, covered below.[2]

Plasma Circuit in the Infinitely Compressed Circuit Board
The pack adds two ways to make the Infinitely Compressed Circuit Board, and both need the Plasma Circuit. One goes through the Implosion Compressor from Modern Industrialization. It also uses Obsidian TNT from Mekanism Additions and a Finished PCB from PneumaticCraft.[2]
Implosion Compressor (modern_industrialization)
Recipe id: ftb:infinitely_compressed_circuit_board
The other route is a Create sequenced assembly, which starts from the Incomplete Infinitely Compressed Circuit Board. It pulls in parts from Immersive Engineering, Oritech, PneumaticCraft and Mekanism Additions, as well as the Plasma Circuit.[2]

Unverified What the Infinitely Compressed Circuit Board is used for is not covered by the available sources. No quests involving Mekanism Weaponry were found either.
Which Mekanism Weaponry config options matter?
2 parts
All of Mekanism Weaponry's settings live in one file, config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml. This pack only touches six values, and they are all about how much energy the weapons store and how much they burn per shot. Everything else is left at the mod default.[4]
What the pack changed
- [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.gauntletEnergyCapacity]] is 10,000 in this pack (mod default 15,000), so the gauntlet battery is smaller.[4]
- [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.plasmaRifleEnergyCapacity]] is 10,000 (mod default 50,000), a big cut to how much energy the plasma rifle can hold.[4]
- [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.plasmaRifleEnergyUsage]] is 250 FE per shot (mod default 175), so the plasma rifle is hungrier as well as smaller.[4]
- [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunEnergyCapacity]] is 100,000 (mod default 75,000), so the railgun can store more than it normally would.[4]
- [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.teslaMinigunEnergyCapacity]] is 100,000 (mod default 75,000), the same boost the railgun gets.[4]
- [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.teslaMinigunEnergyUsage]] is 1,000 FE per shot (mod default 500), double the default drain for the tesla minigun.[4]
In short, the plasma rifle and gauntlet are tuned down on the energy side, while the railgun and tesla minigun get bigger batteries. The tesla minigun also costs more to fire.[4]
Left at mod defaults
Damage, cooldowns, reload times and charge speeds are untouched, so these are the stock mod values. Recoil is also switched on via [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.enableRecoil]], which is set to true.[4]
- Gauntlet: [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.gauntletDamage]] is 5, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.gauntletEnergyUsage]] is 1,000 per shot, and [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.gauntletEnergyTransfer]] is 1,000.[4]
- Plasma rifle: [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.plasmaRifleDamage]] is 8, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.plasmaRifleCooldown]] is 6 ticks, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.plasmaRifleReloadTime]] is 45 ticks, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.plasmaRifleHeatPerShot]] is 20, and [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.plasmaRifleEnergyTransfer]] is 1,000.[4]
- Railgun: [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunDamage]] is 16, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunCooldown]] is 20 ticks, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunReloadTime]] is 55 ticks, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunMaxAmmo]] is 5, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunSecondModeScale]] is 2, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunEnergyUsage]] is 1,000 per shot, and [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.railgunEnergyTransfer]] is 10,000.[4]
- Tesla minigun: [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.teslaMinigunDamage]] is 2.5, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.teslaMinigunCooldown]] is 4 ticks, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.teslaMinigunReloadTime]] is 100 ticks, [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.teslaMinigunHeatPerShot]] is 5, and [[config:config/mekanism_weaponry-common.toml#Mekanism Weaponry Config.teslaMinigunEnergyTransfer]] is 10,000.[4]
