What is Mystical Agriculture?

1 part

Mystical Agriculture is all about growing your resources instead of digging for them. You plant resource crops, harvest their essences, and craft those essences into materials, mob drops, tools, armor and more. All the Mods 10 4.5 runs version 8.0.18 of the mod.[1][2]

This mod is for you if you like turning a field into a renewable supply of vanilla resources, modded metals, gems and mob drops. Once your farms are running, you can stop chasing ore veins for the basics.[1]

  • Six sets of essence tools and armor that you can upgrade with Augments.[1]
  • Growth Accelerators and Watering Cans to speed up your crops.[1]
  • Scythes and Sickles for faster harvesting by hand, plus the Harvester to harvest fields automatically.[1]
  • An upgradable Furnace and a Seed Reprocessor to put your spare seeds to use.[1]
  • The Enchanter turns your extra resource essences into enchantments, and the Soulium Spawner uses your extra mob essences to spawn mobs.[1]
Watch out: The crop list on the mod's own project page was last updated for version 8.0.19. This pack runs 8.0.18, so treat that list as a rough guide and not as the exact set of seeds you can get here.[1][2]

Where it fits in the pack

The pack has its own Mystical Agriculture quest chapter that walks you from your first essence to higher essence tiers. Here's the early path it lays out.[3]

  1. Mine Prosperity and Inferium ore, then collect Inferium Essence for a quest in "?" and a Prosperity Shard for a quest in "?".[1][3]
  2. Craft a Prosperity Seed Base for a quest in "?". Seed bases are what every seed starts from.[1][3]
  3. Build an Infusion Altar and Infusion Pedestals for a quest in "?". When you place the altar, it shows you where the pedestals go.[1][3]
  4. Plant Inferium Seeds on Inferium Farmland for a quest in "?". Essence farmland gives you more Inferium Essence per harvest.[1][3]
  5. With both of those quests done, the chapter opens up your first resource seeds, like Stone Seeds, Dirt Seeds, Wood Seeds and the elemental seeds.[3]
  6. Craft an Infusion Crystal for a quest in "?", then use it to move up to Prudentium Essence in a quest in "?" and Tertium Essence in a quest in "?".[1][3]

Beyond Tertium, the tiers continue through Imperium, Supremium and Awakened Supremium. You can see the full ladder in the machine upgrade quest a quest in "?", which accepts an upgrade from any of the six tiers.[3]

How do you get started with Mystical Agriculture?

6 parts

Mystical Agriculture is all about growing your resources. You plant crops that give you essences, then turn those essences into materials, mob drops, tools, armor and more. Here's the order to tackle things in when you're starting out in this pack.[1]

Step 1: Mine Prosperity and Inferium ore

Your first job is mining. Go looking for Prosperity ore and Inferium ore. These give you Prosperity Shard and Inferium Essence, and the early quests a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" ask for exactly those two items.[1][3]

You can also get Inferium Essence by killing mobs, so keep what drops while you're out exploring.[1]

Tip: This pack adds its own ore-processing recipes. Once you have Actually Additions crushing or Mekanism enriching running, you can feed both ores through them instead of only mining them by hand.[4]

Step 2: Seed Bases and the Infusion Altar

Next, make some Seed Bases. Every seed you want to grow starts from one. In the quest line, a quest in "?" asks for a Prosperity Seed Base, and it unlocks right after the Prosperity Shard quest.[1][3]

Seeds are crafted on an Infusion Altar with Infusion Pedestal blocks around it. You don't need to guess the layout: when you place the altar in the world, it shows you where the pedestals go. Quest a quest in "?" asks you to make both.[1][3]

Unverified The exact in-pack crafting recipes for the Seed Base, Infusion Altar and Infusion Pedestal were not in the sources for this section. Check them in-game before you gather materials.

Step 3: Inferium Seeds and Essence Farmland

Make some Inferium Seeds so you have a renewable source of Inferium Essence. Plant them on Essence Farmland to get more essence per harvest. You can craft Essence Farmland, or you can right-click vanilla Farmland in the world. Quest a quest in "?" asks for Inferium Farmland and Inferium Seeds.[1][3]

Step 4: Your first resource seeds

A normal resource seed needs some of its own resource plus the essence of the seed's tier. After you finish both the farmland quest and the altar quest, the pack opens quests for your first seeds. These include Air Seeds, Earth Seeds, Water Seeds, Fire Seeds, Stone Seeds, Dirt Seeds, Wood Seeds, Ice Seeds and Deepslate Seeds.[1][3]

Step 5: The Infusion Crystal and higher tiers

To upgrade your essence to the next tier, you need an Infusion Crystal. Its quest, a quest in "?", unlocks after Inferium Essence. The chain then continues through Prudentium Essence, Tertium Essence and Imperium Essence in quests a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[1][3]

How does Mystical Agriculture work?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Mystical Agriculture is built around growing your resources as crops. You infuse seeds, plant them, harvest essence and turn that essence into materials, mob drops, tools and armor. On top of that loop sit a few machines that speed up growth, harvest your fields, smelt, reprocess seeds, enchant and even spawn mobs. This section covers how those systems fit together in this pack.[1]

Infusion: how seeds are made

Seeds are crafted with an Infusion Altar and Infusion Pedestals. You don't need to memorise the layout: when you place the altar in the world, it shows you where the pedestals go. A normal resource seed needs some of its resource plus the tier essence that matches the seed. Mob seeds need Soul Jars filled with that mob type instead.[1]

In this pack, vanilla crafting-table recipes for seeds are not generated, so the altar is your route to new seeds. Crops also won't drop a second seed when you harvest them, so every extra copy of a seed has to come from infusion.[1][5]

To move essence up a tier, you need an Infusion Crystal. In this pack the basic Infusion Crystal has 500 uses, so keep a spare on hand if you're doing a lot of tier upgrades.[1][5]

The Awakening Altar and Awakened Supremium

Awakened Supremium is the high-end crafting material used to upgrade many of your Supremium items. You usually create it by infusing Cognizant Dust with a Supremium Block on an Awakening Altar. The altar works together with Awakening Pedestal blocks, and both use Soulstone in their recipes.[6][7]

Cognizant Dust comes from boss kills. The Wither and the Ender Dragon drop it when you kill them with an Essence Weapon enchanted with Mystical Enlightenment. This pack has both of those drops turned on.[5][6]

The Essence Vessel is another Awakening-tier block built from Soulstone, glass and gold.[7]

This pack changes two of the Awakened Supremium crafting recipes: the Awakened Supremium Ingot and the Awakened Supremium Gemstone. Both are shapeless recipes built from Awakened Supremium Essence, so check the recipes below instead of relying on older videos.[7]

Speeding up your crops

Growth Accelerators make the plant above them grow faster. In this pack, each accelerator growth tick is 10 seconds apart. Tiers go up to the Awakened Supremium Growth Accelerator. Watering Cans are the other way the mod speeds up crop growth.[1][5][6]

Essence Farmland gets you more Inferium Essence per harvest from Inferium Seeds. You can craft it, or right-click vanilla Farmland with an essence. That in-world conversion is turned on in this pack.[1][5]

Mystical Fertilizer instantly grows a crop or sapling. Resource crops can also drop Fertilized Essence when harvested. This pack sets that chance to 0.1 on a 0.0 to 1.0 scale.[5][6]

If you go all the way to endgame gear, a full set of Awakened Supremium armor grants a Plant Growth AOE set bonus, and that bonus is enabled in this pack.[5]

Machines and automation

  • Harvester: harvests your fields automatically, so you don't have to run around with a Scythe or Sickle.[1]
  • Essence Furnaces: upgradable furnaces for processing resources more effectively.[1]
  • Seed Reprocessor: gets more out of your extra seeds.[1]
  • Enchanter: spends your extra resource essences to enchant tools, armor or books.[1]
  • Soulium Spawner: spends your extra mob essences to spawn mobs.[1]
  • Machine Upgrades: items such as the Supremium Machine Upgrade and the Awakened Machine Supremium Upgrade raise a machine's operation speed.[6]

For hand-harvesting, the Diamond Scythe and Diamond Sickle let you farm crops more effectively than breaking them one at a time.[1][7]

Watch out: Fake players can't use watering cans in this pack. If your automation relies on a fake-player block holding a watering can, it won't work. Use Growth Accelerators instead.[5]

Unverified The sources don't give machine power costs, exact operation speeds per upgrade tier, or item and fluid input/output behaviour. Check these in-game before designing a factory around them.

Collecting mob souls

Mob seeds need filled Soul Jars. To collect souls, keep Soul Jars in your inventory and kill mobs with a Soulium Dagger. Some dagger variants grant additional souls from hostile or from peaceful creatures, and the Soul Siphoner enchantment increases souls collected by 10 percent per level.[1][6]

Tip: Older guides say you can get Inferium Essence by killing mobs, but this pack sets the mob Inferium drop chance to 0. Get your Inferium from ore and Inferium Seeds instead.[1][5]

How do you progress through Mystical Agriculture?

7 parts

The pack's Mystical Agriculture quest chapter follows the essence tiers in order: Inferium Essence, then Prudentium Essence, Tertium Essence, Imperium Essence and Supremium Essence. Each essence quest opens that tier's armor, tools, growth accelerator and farmland. The farmland quest is the one that matters most, because it unlocks the next batch of seeds.[3]

Getting started

The chapter opens with two main quests: a quest in "?" for Inferium Essence and a quest in "?" for Prosperity Shard. Next to them are side quests for the Watering Can, Mystical Fertilizer, Seed Reprocessor, Enchanter, Soul Extractor and Soulium Spawner.[3]

The pack adds extra ore-processing recipes that give you Inferium Essence and Prosperity Shards, through crushing and enriching machines from other mods. They're a nice boost if you already have those machines running.[4]

The Infusion Altar comes first

The Prosperity Shard quest leads to a quest in "?" for the Prosperity Seed Base and to a quest for the mod's Furnace. The seed base quest then leads to a quest in "?", which asks for the Infusion Altar and Infusion Pedestal. Every seed quest in the chapter requires this quest, so build your altar early.[3]

Inferium

Completing the Inferium Essence quest opens quests for the Infusion Crystal, the Wand, the full Inferium armor set, any one Inferium tool, the Inferium Growth Accelerator, and a quest in "?" for Inferium Farmland and Inferium Seeds. The machine upgrade quest, a quest in "?", needs both the essence and shard quests and accepts an upgrade of any tier.[3]

Once you've done the Inferium farmland quest and the altar quest, your first seed quests unlock: Air Seeds, Earth Seeds, Water Seeds, Fire Seeds, Dirt Seeds, Wood Seeds, Stone Seeds, Deepslate Seeds and Ice Seeds.[3]

Tip: The pack adds an in-pack cloche recipe that grows Inferium Essence from Inferium Seeds. It's a handy way to automate your first essence.[4]

Finishing both the Inferium armor quest and the Inferium tool quest unlocks a quest in "?" for an Unattuned Augment. That in turn leads to a quest in "?" for the Tinkering Table.[3]

Prudentium

The Infusion Crystal quest leads to a quest in "?" for Prudentium Essence. This quest opens Prudentium armor, tools and growth accelerator, plus a quest in "?" for Prudentium Farmland and a quest in "?". That second quest asks for a Soulium Dagger, 4 Soul Jar and a Soul Extractor.[3]

Tertium

a quest in "?" asks for Tertium Essence. It opens Tertium armor, tools, growth accelerator and a quest in "?" for Tertium Farmland. It also directly unlocks the hostile mob seeds: Zombie Seeds, Skeleton Seeds, Spider Seeds, Creeper Seeds and Rabbit Seeds.[3]

Tertium Farmland opens the big resource batch. This includes Iron Seeds, Copper Seeds, Tin Seeds, Lead Seeds, Silver Seeds, Redstone Seeds, Glowstone Seeds, Nether Quartz Seeds, Obsidian Seeds and Certus Quartz Seeds.[3]

Imperium

a quest in "?" asks for Imperium Essence. It opens Imperium armor, tools, growth accelerator and a quest in "?" for Imperium Farmland. It also unlocks Blaze Seeds, Ghast Seeds, Enderman Seeds and Breeze Seeds, plus a quest in "?", which asks for Experience Seeds and 4 Experience Capsule.[3]

Imperium Farmland unlocks seed quests including Gold Seeds, Osmium Seeds, Nickel Seeds, Uranium Seeds, End Seeds, Fluix Seeds, Ruby Seeds, Sapphire Seeds, Peridot Seeds and Soulium Seeds.[3]

Supremium and beyond

a quest in "?" asks for Supremium Essence. It opens quests for the Master Infusion Crystal, Cognizant Dust, a Supremium tool, the Supremium Growth Accelerator and Supremium Farmland. It also opens a quest in "?", which asks for the Awakening Altar, Awakening Pedestal and Essence Vessel.[3]

Unverified The available quest data cuts off partway through the Supremium tier. That means we couldn't confirm which seeds Supremium Farmland unlocks, whether there's a Supremium armor quest, or how the quests handle Awakened Supremium.

How does Mystical Agriculture work with other mods?

4 parts

Mystical Agriculture works less like a standalone mod here and more like a supply line for the rest of the pack. The pack adds a lot of its own recipes that turn essences into other mods' materials. Some of the other mods also ship their own recipes that accept Mystical Agriculture essence.[4]

Essences that craft into other mods' materials

The pack adds shaped crafting recipes that turn an essence straight into another mod's resource. This means your crop farm can cover materials you would normally have to mine or hunt for.[4]

Dyenamics colours and concrete

Dyenamics has its own recipes that use Mystical Agriculture. Dye Essence crafts into every Dyenamics dye, like Amber Dye or Wine Dye. Water Essence turns Dyenamics concrete powder into solid concrete, so you don't have to dunk it in water yourself.[4]

Growing endgame crops in an Immersive Engineering Cloche

The pack adds Cloche recipes for the top-tier seeds. Allthemodium Seeds, Vibranium Seeds and Unobtainium Seeds grow on Magical Soil. Dragon Egg, Nether Star and Nitro Crystal seeds grow on their matching crux, for example Nether Star Crux. Magical Soil is a pack-added item with a big crafting recipe that mixes in late-game Mystical Agriculture and Agradditions blocks.[4]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Mystical Agriculture?

3 parts

The pack gives the mod its own quest chapter. It follows the essence tiers from Inferium up to Awakened Supremium. Each tier unlocks gear quests, a new farmland, and a batch of seed quests. The quests are untitled, so here's what each one asks you to hand in and what it unlocks.[3]

Getting started

The first quests are open-ended item checks. a quest in "?" asks for Inferium Essence, and a quest in "?" asks for a Prosperity Shard. Alongside them sit quests for the Watering Can, Mystical Fertilizer, Enchanter, Seed Reprocessor, Soul Extractor and Soulium Spawner. The Harvester quest, a quest in "?", hangs off a different prerequisite.[3]

  1. The Prosperity Shard quest opens a quest in "?", which asks for a Prosperity Seed Base, and a quest in "?", which asks for the mod's Furnace.[3]
  2. The seed base quest leads to a quest in "?", which asks for an Infusion Altar and an Infusion Pedestal. Almost every seed quest in the chapter needs this one done.[3]
  3. The Inferium Essence quest branches into several quests: an Infusion Crystal (a quest in "?"), the Wand (a quest in "?"), the full Inferium armor set (a quest in "?"), an Inferium Growth Accelerator (a quest in "?"), any one Inferium tool (a quest in "?"), and Inferium Farmland plus Inferium Seeds (a quest in "?").[3]
  4. a quest in "?" needs both the shard and essence quests done. You can complete it with any tier of machine upgrade.[3]
  5. With the Inferium farmland and altar quests done, you unlock the basic seeds: fire, water, air, earth, stone, dirt, wood, deepslate and ice (for example a quest in "?" for Fire Seeds).[3]
  6. Finishing the Inferium tool and armor quests unlocks a quest in "?", which asks for an Unattuned Augment. That in turn opens a quest in "?", which asks for the Tinkering Table.[3]

Climbing the tiers

The Infusion Crystal quest leads to a quest in "?" for Prudentium Essence. From there each essence quest unlocks the next tier: a quest in "?" for Tertium, a quest in "?" for Imperium and a quest in "?" for Supremium. Every tier also has quests for its armor set, any one of its tools, its growth accelerator and its farmland.[3]

Awakening

a quest in "?" asks for the Awakening Altar, an Awakening Pedestal and an Essence Vessel. Complete it together with the Cognizant Dust quest to unlock a quest in "?" for Awakened Supremium Essence. There's also a a quest in "?" quest for Dragon Egg Seeds.[3]

Tip: Most seed quests need two prerequisites: the matching tier's farmland (or essence) quest and the Infusion Altar quest. If a seed quest stays locked, check that you've handed in the altar and pedestal.[3]

Unverified The rest of the chapter after the dragon egg quest could not be confirmed. The pack's basic tools chapter may also contain Mystical Agriculture quests, but their contents could not be confirmed either.

Which Mystical Agriculture config options matter?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Mystical Agriculture keeps its gameplay settings in config/mysticalagriculture-common.toml. Here are the options you're most likely to care about and how All the Mods 10 8.1 sets them. They decide what drops, how fast things grow, and what spawns in your world.[5]

Unverified The sources show this pack's values but not the mod's default values. This section can't confirm which settings All the Mods 10 changed from the defaults, so read every value below as simply how the pack is set.

Crops, seeds and essence

Growth speed and gear

The mod lets you speed up crops with Growth Accelerators and Watering Cans. Two options control how those behave here.[1][5]

Watch out: General.fakePlayerWatering is false in this pack, so fake players can't use Watering Cans. If you're planning a machine that waters crops with a can, it won't work.[5]

What changed in Mystical Agriculture between versions?

1 part

Mystical Agriculture has been in All the Mods 10 since version 2.2 or earlier. All the Mods 10 4.5 ships version 8.0.18. Since then it has only had version bumps in the pack changelogs, and they are listed below.[2]

Pack updates to Mystical Agriculture

  • All the Mods 10 2.30: updated from 8.0.11 to 8.0.12.[8]
  • All the Mods 10 2.37: updated from 8.0.12 to 8.0.13.[9]
  • All the Mods 10 2.42: updated from 8.0.13 to 8.0.14.[10]
  • All the Mods 10 2.47: updated from 8.0.14 to 8.0.16.[11]
  • All the Mods 10 3.2: updated from 8.0.16 to 8.0.17.[12]
  • All the Mods 10 4.3: updated from 8.0.17 to 8.0.18, the version still used in 4.5.[2][13]

Unverified The pack changelogs only record the version numbers. What actually changed inside each Mystical Agriculture release (new crops, fixes, balance tweaks) is unverified, because no mod changelogs are stored for the shipped jars. Check the mod's own release notes before relying on any specific change.
