What is Mystical Agriculture?

2 parts

Mystical Agriculture is the "grow your resources" mod. Instead of strip-mining for every ingot and gem, you plant seeds that grow into resource crops and harvest essences, which you then turn into materials, mob drops, tools and armor. It covers resource crops for a huge range of vanilla and modded ingredients, so it quickly becomes a renewable supply line for the rest of your base.[1]

This pack runs Mystical Agriculture 8.0.4 for Minecraft 1.21.1, and the mod has been in the pack since an earlier version, so any world you start on this release has it available from the beginning.[2]

Where it fits in your progression

It is an early-game mod that keeps paying off. You start by mining Prosperity and Inferium ore, craft Seed Bases, and build an Infusion Altar with its pedestals to make your first seeds. Inferium Seeds give you a steady essence income, and planting them on Essence Farmland increases your yield per harvest. Killing mobs is another source of Inferium Essence.[1]

From there the mod tiers upward: normal resource seeds need some of their own resource plus the tier essence for that seed, and you use an Infusion Crystal to upgrade essence from one tier to the next. Once you reach the higher tiers you can spend Essence Ingots on the six sets of tools and armor, then slot in Augments for effects like Wither Resistance, Absorption, Speed and Jump Boost.[1]

What you get along the way

  • Growth Accelerators and Watering Cans to make crops grow faster.[1]
  • Scythes and Sickles for manual farming, or the Harvester to automate whole fields.[1]
  • Upgradable Furnaces for processing and the Seed Reprocessor to get value out of spare seeds.[1]
  • The Enchanter, which spends leftover resource essences on enchanting tools, armor or books.[1]
  • Mob seeds, made from Soul Jars filled by killing mobs with a Soulium Dagger, plus the Soulium Spawner for spending mob essence.[1]
Tip: The mod ships with its own in-game guide book powered by Patchouli, so keep it on your hotbar while you learn the infusion recipes.[1]

Unverified The exact list of modded resource crops available depends on which mods are loaded and on this mod version; check the in-game recipe viewer for the crops that actually exist in your world rather than assuming every crop from the mod's published list is present. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Mystical Agriculture?

3 parts

Mystical Agriculture is all about growing your resources instead of only mining them. It adds more than 130 resource crops covering vanilla and modded ingredients, materials and mob drops, so almost anything you can think of eventually becomes something you plant and harvest.[1]

Your first steps

  1. Go mining for Prosperity and Inferium ore. These two are the backbone of everything else in the mod, so grab as much as you can while you are down there.[1]
  2. Craft some Seed Bases. Every seed you make later starts from one of these.[1]
  3. Build an Infusion Altar and its Infusion Pedestals. Seeds are crafted in this multiblock, and placing the altar in the world shows you exactly where the pedestals need to go.[1]
  4. Make some Inferium Seeds. Growing them gives you a renewable second source of Inferium Essence on top of mining.[1]
  5. Plant those seeds on Essence Farmland instead of plain farmland to get more essence per harvest.[1]

The first tier of Essence Farmland.

Tip: You do not have to craft Essence Farmland in a grid if you already have a field laid out. You can also make it by right-clicking vanilla farmland in world.[1]

Killing mobs is a third source of Inferium Essence, so early Inferium tends to pile up on its own while you are doing other things.[1]

Moving past Inferium

Once your Inferium farm is running, normal resource seeds need some of their respective resource together with the tier essence of that seed. To climb to a higher essence tier, you will need an Infusion Crystal.[1]

Spare essence also compacts into storage blocks, which is worth doing early because Inferium stacks up fast once a field is going.[3]

Making the farm less tedious

  • Growth Accelerators and Watering Cans both increase crop growth speed, so build them as soon as you can spare the materials.[1]
  • Scythes and Sickles let you clear crops far more efficiently than punching them one at a time, and the Harvester automates whole fields later on.[1]
  • The Seed Reprocessor gets more value out of your extra seeds, and upgradable Furnaces process resources more effectively.[1]

The mod ships its own in-game guide book with a basics section covering everything you need to get started, plus sections on machines, augments and the more advanced content. The book needs Patchouli installed to be enabled.[1][4]

Unverified Whether the pack changes any Mystical Agriculture recipes, configs or ore generation from the mod's defaults could not be confirmed from the available sources.

How does Mystical Agriculture work?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Mystical Agriculture is built around growing your resources as crops. You infuse seeds, plant them, harvest essence and turn that essence into materials, mob drops, tools and armor. On top of that loop sit a few machines that speed up growth, harvest your fields, smelt, reprocess seeds, enchant and even spawn mobs. This section covers how those systems fit together in this pack.[1]

Infusion: how seeds are made

Seeds are crafted with an Infusion Altar and Infusion Pedestals. You don't need to memorise the layout: when you place the altar in the world, it shows you where the pedestals go. A normal resource seed needs some of its resource plus the tier essence that matches the seed. Mob seeds need Soul Jars filled with that mob type instead.[1]

In this pack, vanilla crafting-table recipes for seeds are not generated, so the altar is your route to new seeds. Crops also won't drop a second seed when you harvest them, so every extra copy of a seed has to come from infusion.[1][5]

To move essence up a tier, you need an Infusion Crystal. In this pack the basic Infusion Crystal has 500 uses, so keep a spare on hand if you're doing a lot of tier upgrades.[1][5]

The Awakening Altar and Awakened Supremium

Awakened Supremium is the high-end crafting material used to upgrade many of your Supremium items. You usually create it by infusing Cognizant Dust with a Supremium Block on an Awakening Altar. The altar works together with Awakening Pedestal blocks, and both use Soulstone in their recipes.[6][7]

Cognizant Dust comes from boss kills. The Wither and the Ender Dragon drop it when you kill them with an Essence Weapon enchanted with Mystical Enlightenment. This pack has both of those drops turned on.[5][6]

The Essence Vessel is another Awakening-tier block built from Soulstone, glass and gold.[7]

This pack changes two of the Awakened Supremium crafting recipes: the Awakened Supremium Ingot and the Awakened Supremium Gemstone. Both are shapeless recipes built from Awakened Supremium Essence, so check the recipes below instead of relying on older videos.[7]

Speeding up your crops

Growth Accelerators make the plant above them grow faster. In this pack, each accelerator growth tick is 10 seconds apart. Tiers go up to the Awakened Supremium Growth Accelerator. Watering Cans are the other way the mod speeds up crop growth.[1][5][6]

Essence Farmland gets you more Inferium Essence per harvest from Inferium Seeds. You can craft it, or right-click vanilla Farmland with an essence. That in-world conversion is turned on in this pack.[1][5]

Mystical Fertilizer instantly grows a crop or sapling. Resource crops can also drop Fertilized Essence when harvested. This pack sets that chance to 0.1 on a 0.0 to 1.0 scale.[5][6]

If you go all the way to endgame gear, a full set of Awakened Supremium armor grants a Plant Growth AOE set bonus, and that bonus is enabled in this pack.[5]

Machines and automation

  • Harvester: harvests your fields automatically, so you don't have to run around with a Scythe or Sickle.[1]
  • Essence Furnaces: upgradable furnaces for processing resources more effectively.[1]
  • Seed Reprocessor: gets more out of your extra seeds.[1]
  • Enchanter: spends your extra resource essences to enchant tools, armor or books.[1]
  • Soulium Spawner: spends your extra mob essences to spawn mobs.[1]
  • Machine Upgrades: items such as the Supremium Machine Upgrade and the Awakened Machine Supremium Upgrade raise a machine's operation speed.[6]

For hand-harvesting, the Diamond Scythe and Diamond Sickle let you farm crops more effectively than breaking them one at a time.[1][7]

Watch out: Fake players can't use watering cans in this pack. If your automation relies on a fake-player block holding a watering can, it won't work. Use Growth Accelerators instead.[5]

Unverified The sources don't give machine power costs, exact operation speeds per upgrade tier, or item and fluid input/output behaviour. Check these in-game before designing a factory around them.

Collecting mob souls

Mob seeds need filled Soul Jars. To collect souls, keep Soul Jars in your inventory and kill mobs with a Soulium Dagger. Some dagger variants grant additional souls from hostile or from peaceful creatures, and the Soul Siphoner enchantment increases souls collected by 10 percent per level.[1][6]

Tip: Older guides say you can get Inferium Essence by killing mobs, but this pack sets the mob Inferium drop chance to 0. Get your Inferium from ore and Inferium Seeds instead.[1][5]

How do you progress through Mystical Agriculture?

5 parts

Here's how the progression looks in this pack, based on the recipes it actually uses. Every tier of essence feeds the same set of upgrades, and the chain of crafting recipes tells you what to build next.[3]

Unverified No quests in this pack involve Mystical Agriculture, and the mod is not on the ATM Star quest path, so there is no quest order to follow. The order below comes from the recipe chains only.

Starting out with Inferium

Your entry point is Inferium Seeds, which you craft in a normal crafting grid.[3]

Inferium Essence is the base of the whole tier system. The pack has recipes that turn it into an Inferium Ingot, an Inferium Gemstone, an Inferium Block, Inferium Farmland and an Inferium Growth Accelerator. The Inferium Machine Upgrade is built on a Machine Upgrade Base.[3]

Infusion: the gateway to higher tiers

The Infusion Crystal is the first real gate. It's crafted in the crafting grid, and you'll need it for the next tier.[3]

How does Mystical Agriculture work with other mods?

6 parts

Mystical Agriculture links up with a lot of the pack through its resource crops. The crops grow essences, and those essences craft into materials from other mods. This pack's recipes also pull Mystical Agriculture items into a few endgame crafts. No quests in this pack involve the mod, so everything below comes from recipes.[3]

Essences that craft into other mods' materials

The mod ships essence recipes for many other mods. In this pack they cover Applied Energistics 2, Mekanism, Chisel, Integrated Dynamics, PneumaticCraft, Powah and Extreme Reactors 2. Each one turns an essence into a material from that mod, so you can farm the material instead of mining it.[1][3]

Where the pack changed things

Three of the essence recipes that the mod ties to Mekanism and Extreme Reactors 2 are changed by the pack, so they give AllTheOres materials. Osmium Essence gives an Osmium Ingot, Fluorite Essence gives Fluorite, and Yellorium Essence gives an Uranium Ingot instead of a Yellorium ingot. Check the recipes below so you know what you will get.[3]

Extra essence crops added by the pack

The pack adds its own essence recipes through KubeJS and its own recipe set. Silicon Essence now crafts into Silicon. Allthemodium, Unobtainium and Vibranium Essence give you the matching Allthemodium Nugget, Unobtainium Nugget and Vibranium Nugget. Kivi Essence gives you Kivi.[3]

Endgame recipes that use Mystical Agriculture items

Two pack recipes mix Mystical Agriculture items with items from other mods. Philosopher's Fuel needs an Awakened Supremium Ingot Block along with items from Big Reactors, Generator Galore, Iron Furnaces and vanilla. Magical Soil uses an Insanium Block, an Insanium Farmland and an Awakened Supremium Growth Accelerator. It also needs AllTheCompressed blocks, a Piglich Heart and a Productive Trees sapling.[3]

Productive Bees

Productive Bees has recipes for Mystical Agriculture bees. Tertium, Imperium, Inferium, Prudentium and Supremium bees use the mod's infusion recipe type. The Awakened Supremium bee uses its awakening recipe type. The Prosperity and Soulium bees come from bee conversion recipes. In the other direction, centrifuge recipes for the matching honeycombs give you essences, such as Inferium Essence, and Wax.[3]

Mystical Agradditions

The Mystical Agradditions items in this pack are built on Mystical Agriculture essences and tools. For example, essences craft into coals and apples next to vanilla coal and golden apples. The Insanium items use the Master Infusion Crystal and the Supremium Block. The End and Nether ore variants smelt into Inferium Essence and Prosperity Shard.[3]

Which Mystical Agriculture config options matter?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Mystical Agriculture keeps its gameplay settings in config/mysticalagriculture-common.toml. Here are the options you're most likely to care about and how All the Mods 10 8.1 sets them. They decide what drops, how fast things grow, and what spawns in your world.[5]

Unverified The sources show this pack's values but not the mod's default values. This section can't confirm which settings All the Mods 10 changed from the defaults, so read every value below as simply how the pack is set.

Crops, seeds and essence

Growth speed and gear

The mod lets you speed up crops with Growth Accelerators and Watering Cans. Two options control how those behave here.[1][5]

Watch out: General.fakePlayerWatering is false in this pack, so fake players can't use Watering Cans. If you're planning a machine that waters crops with a can, it won't work.[5]
