Mekanism:More Machine is a mod in All the Mods 10 8.3, where it is version 1.4.1. Added more machines and factories to Mekanism. (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Mekanism:More Machine?

2 parts

Mekanism:More Machine is an add-on that adds more machines and factories to Mekanism. This pack includes version 1.4.1.[1][2]

What it adds

  • Recycler: destroys most useless items or blocks to produce scrap. The project page says dirt and stones were added by default, so you don't accidentally throw important things in. Scrap is the base item for making UU matter.[1]
  • Planting Station: consumes nutrient solution to produce crops. The project page says it is compatible with most things that can be grown in vanilla and fully compatible with Mystical Agriculture.[1]
  • Replicator: uses UU matter to replicate items. By default it has no recipe.[1]
  • Stamper, Lathe and Rolling Mill: general-purpose machines. According to the project page, only the Stamper currently links to Immersive Engineering, AE2 and their accessories.[1]
  • Advanced factories: factory versions of slow machines such as the chemical oxidizer, including an oxidizing factory and a dissolving factory. Their multiple threads can greatly improve production efficiency.[1]

Things to know before you build

The Replicator has no recipe by default, and the project page says you need to add the ones you want in the configuration file. For the Lathe and Rolling Mill, the project page says there are no suitable recipes yet, that some may be added in the future, and that you can add recipes yourself if you want to use them.[1]

The mod is not compatible with KubeJS or CraftTweaker. To add your own recipes you need the most primitive methods, such as KubeJS's custom recipe type. The mod's GitHub wiki documents the JSON format for each machine. The advanced factories also don't work with ComputerCraft yet, so you can't precisely control individual slots or tanks that way.[1]

Unverified The sources I was given don't show any quests involving this mod or a place for it on the ATM Star path. They also don't show whether the pack changes any of the mod's defaults, such as adding Replicator recipes, so check in game with JEI and the config folder. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Mekanism:More Machine?

3 parts

Mekanism:More Machine adds extra machines and factory versions of Mekanism machines. The factories are the main draw: the mod's own description says machines like the chemical oxidizer feel slow, and multi-threaded advanced factories can greatly improve production efficiency.[1]

Your first steps

  1. Build the regular Mekanism machine you use most. In this pack a Basic factory is crafted from its matching machine, plus a basic circuit, an iron ingot and a basic alloy. For example, the Basic Oxidizing Factory is made from the Chemical Oxidizer.[3]
  2. Craft the Basic factory for that machine. It is the base for every tier above it.[3]
  3. If you want stamping, make the CNC Stamper first. The Basic Stamping Factory is built from it.[3]
  4. If you want pressing, the Basic Pressing Factory is built from the Presser.[3]
  5. Move up a tier when you are ready. Each Advanced factory upgrades the Basic one, such as the Advanced Oxidizing Factory, and each Elite factory upgrades the Advanced one, such as the Elite Oxidizing Factory.[3]

Tip: Each tier asks for a higher circuit and alloy level than the one before. Advanced factories use advanced circuits and infused alloys, Elite use elite circuits and reinforced alloys, and the Ultimate ones I can see use ultimate circuits and atomic alloys. Plan your Mekanism resources before you start upgrading.[3]

Other machines to know about

The project page also lists a Recycler, a Planting Station and a Replicator. The Recycler destroys useless items to produce scrap, which is the basic item for making UU Matter. The Planting Station consumes nutrient solution to produce crops. The Replicator uses UU matter to copy items.[1][3]

How does Mekanism:More Machine work?

7 parts

As far as the sources show, this mod adds more machines and factories to Mekanism. This section covers how the pieces fit together: factories, the UU matter chain, the planting station, wireless transfer, chemical tanks and generators. Where the sources don't show a number, I won't guess one.[1][4]

Factories and multithreading

The project page describes machines like the chemical oxidizer as relatively slow, and says the mod adds factory versions of them. It says advanced factories with multiple threads can greatly improve production efficiency. The item list shows Basic and Advanced factories for oxidizing, dissolving, crystallizing, centrifuging, liquifying, painting, pigment extracting, pressing, pressurised reacting, stamping and washing.[1][3]

Here is the centrifuging line as an example of how the Basic Centrifuging Factory and the Advanced Centrifuging Factory are crafted in this pack.[3]

Watch out: The factories are not compatible with ComputerCraft yet, so you can't precisely control individual slots or tanks from a computer.[1]

Scrap, UU matter and the replicator

The Recycler destroys most useless items and blocks to produce scrap. By default dirt and stones were added, so you won't accidentally feed it something important. Scrap is the basic item for making UU Matter, and if you run JEI you will see the relevant recipes.[1][3]

The Replicator spends UU matter to replicate things. It has no recipes by default, so they have to be added in the configuration. There are separate lists for the item, fluid and chemical replicators. Each entry is written as modid:registeredName#amount, where the amount is how much UU matter is consumed and can't be null or zero.[1][4]

UU matter also has a Mekanism chemical form through a chemical conversion recipe. It can be compressed into the TedXenon as well.[3]

Unverified No config files for this mod are available among the sources here, so it is unconfirmed whether the pack adds any replicator recipes or changes the Recycler's default list. Check the mod's config files in the pack itself.

Planting station and nutrient solution

The Planting Station consumes nutrient solution to produce crops. It is compatible with most things that can be grown in vanilla and fully compatible with Mystical Agriculture. In this pack, nutrient solution is made in a dissolution recipe from nutritional paste plus a bio fuel, and a separate recipe covers bio fuel blocks.[1][3]

Wireless charging and transmission

The Wireless Charging Station charges items wirelessly. A config option sets how much energy, in joules, an item can receive per tick from it.[4]

According to the config descriptions, the Wireless Transmission Station has separate configurable maximum output rates for energy, chemicals, fluids, heat and items, plus an overall station maximum rate.[4]

Chemical tanks

The language file lists Mid and Max chemical tanks, each in Basic, Advanced, Elite and Ultimate tiers, and each tier has its own configurable storage size and output rate in mB. The pack's actual values aren't shown in the sources here.[4]

Large generators

The config descriptions cover Large Gas-Burning, Large Heat, Large Wind and Solar Heat generators, each with its own server settings. The Large Gas-Burning Generator has a chemical tank with a configurable capacity. The Large Wind Generator has a configurable minimum and maximum output in joules per tick.[4]

Per the config descriptions, the Large Heat Generator uses lava from its fluid tank. Its output per tick is a base amount, plus a lava bonus multiplied by the number of sides adjacent to lava, plus a bonus if it sits in an ultrawarm dimension (in vanilla, only the Nether). A lava-logged block counts itself too, which allows a maximum of 81 sides.[4]

The config descriptions say the Solar Heat Generator works with reflectors that gain heat each tick at full sun. Reflector durability starts to be consumed above a configurable temperature threshold. Coolant heat transfer starts at a separate target temperature, and the generation thermal factor reaches one at a rated temperature. The sources here don't list the pack's values for any of these.[4]

Adding your own recipes

The project page says the mod is not compatible with KubeJS or CraftTweaker, so adding your own recipes means using the most primitive methods, such as KubeJS's custom recipe type. It points to the mod's GitHub wiki for the JSON format of each machine.[1]

How do you progress through Mekanism:More Machine?

4 parts

Most of this mod's progression is the factory ladder. Every factory type climbs through the tiers Basic, Advanced, Elite and Ultimate, and each upgrade recipe takes the factory from the tier below as its starting point. That means you work up the tiers in order.[3]

Basic tier: your entry point

A Basic factory is built from the matching single-block Mekanism machine. The stamping and pressing factories are the odd ones out: they start from this mod's own CNC Stamper and Presser instead of a base Mekanism machine.[3]

Advanced, Elite and Ultimate tiers

From Advanced upwards, every step has the same shape. You combine the factory from the previous tier with a higher grade of circuit, a different metal or gem, and a higher grade of Mekanism alloy. The recipe blocks below show the centrifuging line, and the other lines follow the same pattern.[3]

The lines that follow this pattern are centrifuging, crystallizing, dissolving, liquifying, oxidizing, painting, pigment extracting, pressing, pressurised reacting, stamping and washing. For example, the Advanced Washing Factory is made from the Basic Washing Factory, and the Ultimate Washing Factory sits at the end of that same chain.[3]

Tip: Because each tier's recipe uses the previous factory, build the Basic version of a line first and upgrade it step by step.[3]

Large machines

Beyond the factories, the mod adds large machines such as the Large C. Infuser, Large Electrolytic Separator and Large Antiprotonic Nucleosynthesizer. Their recipes call for a Robit and an Ultimate Max Chemical Tank, so they sit on top of Mekanism's own top-tier parts.[3]

The Large Electrolytic Separator and the Large Gas-Burning Generator also need the Advanced Electrolysis Core, which is built from Mekanism's Electrolytic Core.[3]

How does Mekanism:More Machine work with other mods?

2 parts

The big link between this mod and the rest of the pack is Mystical Agriculture. The Planting Station consumes nutrient solution to grow crops, and the mod's project page says it is fully compatible with Mystical Agriculture.[1]

Growing essences in the Planting Station

This pack has a planting recipe for each Mystical Agriculture seed type listed in its recipe data. You feed the Planting Station nutrient solution plus the seeds, and it gives you the matching essence. The pack's recipe dump marks these recipes as changed by the pack, so don't assume they match the mod's defaults. The dump doesn't show what was changed, so check the recipe viewer in game for the details.[1][3]

Take Inferium as an example: nutrient solution plus Inferium Seeds gives you Inferium Essence.[3]

The same pattern covers the rest of the Mystical Agriculture lineup, including resources like Iron Seeds and Diamond Seeds, mob types like Creeper Seeds, and modded metals like Osmium Seeds. Each one turns into its own essence, for example Osmium Essence.[3]

Machine recipes that use other mods' items

The CNC Stamper is a machine that mixes parts from several mods: Mekanism's Steel Casing and the vanilla Piston and Sticky Piston all go into it, and its circuit and alloy slots accept any item from their tag. The exact in-pack recipe is shown below.[3]
