What is Extended Industrialization?
2 parts
Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization. If you're already building up your Modern Industrialization factory, this mod adds a bunch of new machines, power sources, tools and resources to it.[1]
This pack includes version 1.14.5-1.21.1 of the mod.[2]
What it adds
- Machines: the Alloy Smelter, Bending Machine, Brewery, Canning Machine, Composter, Farmer, Honey Extractor, Large Furnace, Large Macerator, Machine Chainer, Processing Array, Universal Transformer, Waste Collector and Wireless Charging Station.[1]
- Generators: the Solar Boiler and the Solar Panel.[1]
- Tools and equipment: Canned Food, the Machine Config Card, the Steam Chainsaw, the Electric Drill and Chainsaw, the Ultimate Laser Drill and the Nano Suit.[1]
- Resources: Mulch, Manure, Composted Manure, NPK Fertilizer, Honey as a fluid, and Crystallized Honey.[1]
Who it's for
The mod builds directly on Modern Industrialization, so it's for players who are already running that mod's tech line. It gives you more machines to automate with, extra ways to generate power, and new gear to use along the way.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't show where Extended Industrialization fits in this pack's progression. They also don't show whether the pack changes any of the mod's recipes or configs. The mod does not appear to be tied to any quests or to the ATM Star path in this pack.
How do you get started with Extended Industrialization?
4 parts
Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization. It adds new machines, power sources, tools and resources on top of the base mod, so your early game here follows your Modern Industrialization progression.[1]
Step 1: Your first bronze machines
Your first Extended Industrialization machines are the bronze ones, because their recipes are built around a Bronze Machine Casing. The two to aim for first are the Bronze Bending Machine and the Bronze Composter. This pack changed both recipes, so check the in-pack versions below instead of relying on an older guide.[3]

Step 2: Automate your farming
Next, make a Steel Combine. It is the part that goes into the Steam Farmer, one of the most useful machines this mod adds.[3]

Here's what the Farmer can do for you:[4]
- Tilling: it turns dirt into farmland, but only when water is supplied.[4]
- Hydrating: when you give it water, it keeps tilled soil hydrated.[4]
- Planting: when you give it crops or saplings, it plants them on valid soil, and different planting modes give different layouts.[4]
- Fertilizing: with a valid fluid fertilizer, it randomly bonemeals crops and saplings.[4]
- Harvesting: it harvests fully grown crops and trees as long as it has enough output space.[4]
Step 3: Upgrade to steel
Once you reach steel, you don't have to throw your bronze machines away. The Steel Bending Machine and Steel Composter are crafted by upgrading the bronze versions you already built.[3]

Steel also opens up the Steel Alloy Smelter, Steel Honey Extractor, Steel Brewery and Steel Canning Machine, all built on a Steel Machine Casing. Place a Honey Extractor facing into a beehive and it extracts honey as a fluid.[3][4]
While you're in the steel stage, make some Steel Plated Bricks. This pack changed their recipe, and you'll need them later for the Large Electric Macerator.[3]

Looking ahead: going electric
When you have electricity, the Electric Farmer is the next big goal. It is built from your Steam Farmer, so keep that machine around instead of breaking it down.[3]

Unverified The sources don't give the speed, energy use or steam use of the bronze, steel and electric tiers, so this guide can't say how much faster each upgrade is.
How does Extended Industrialization work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.10 guide
Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization. It adds new machines such as the Alloy Smelter, Bending Machine, Brewery, Canning Machine, Composter, Farmer, Large Furnace, Processing Array and Universal Transformer, plus generators, tools and farming resources.[1]
Machine tiers and crafting
Several of the new machines come in more than one tier. The Bending Machine has a bronze, a steel and an electric version, while the Alloy Smelter, Brewery and Canning Machine show up here as steel and electric versions. You don't craft the steel Bending Machine from scratch. You upgrade the bronze one instead, and that recipe is shapeless.[5]

Configuring and automating machines
Machines from this mod have a machine configuration panel that you open by clicking. The Machine Config Card saves a machine's settings so you can copy them onto others. You save with a key combination on a machine, apply with a use click on another machine, and clear the card with a key combination on air. You can also hold the card in your off-hand while placing machines to apply the settings automatically.[6]
The Machine Chainer is the main automation helper. It connects a limited number of consecutive machines in a straight line, in the direction it faces. It accepts items, fluids and energy and distributes them to the machines it's connected to. It can connect to other Machine Chainers, but it must not link back to itself.[6]
Wireless power: the Tesla system
Tesla machines send energy wirelessly. A Tesla Coil transmits to linked receivers within a set range, and the hull you provide sets the voltage. Higher voltages have an increased passive drain.[6]
The Tesla Tower also transmits to linked receivers within range. Its windings determine the energy transfer rate, range and passive drain, while its energy hatches set the voltage. All the hatches must be the same tier. A Tesla interdimensional upgrade removes the range limitation on a Tower and lets it transmit energy across dimensions.[6]
On the receiving end, a Tesla Receiver must accept energy of the same voltage as the transmitter it's linked to. The Tesla Calibrator handles the linking: you save a transmitter's position with a key combination, then use the calibrator on a receiver to link it. As with the config card, you can hold it in your off-hand while placing receivers to link them automatically. A handheld receiver also works. It links to a transmitter, then charges items while they're in your inventory and you're within range.[6]
Two extras are worth knowing. The Tesla Lethal Coil deals damage to entities nearby while powered. The Tesla Particle Generator generates arcs for aesthetic purposes only.[5][6]

Recipe id: extended_industrialization:craft/tesla_particle_generator
Farming and resource machines
The Farmer handles several separate tasks, and each has its own requirement:[6]
- Tilling turns dirt blocks into farmland, but it won't work unless water is supplied.[6]
- Hydrating waters tilled soil when the machine is supplied with water.[6]
- Planting places crops or saplings on valid soil, and different planting modes give different arrangements.[6]
- Fertilizing randomly bonemeals crops and saplings when supplied with a valid fluid fertilizer.[6]
- Harvesting collects fully grown crops and trees, as long as there is enough output space.[6]
Two smaller machines produce resources. The Honey Extractor gives honey in fluid form when placed facing into a beehive. The Waste Collector collects manure when placed underneath animals.[6]
Canned food
The Robot Auto Feeder automatically grabs Canned Food from your inventory and feeds it to you, and it also works with items that hold items, such as backpacks. The Tin Can has its own crafting recipe.[5][6]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: extended_industrialization:component/craft/tin_can
Unverified The sources here do not show exact values such as the Machine Chainer link count, the Tesla Coil range, winding stats, or machine energy and fluid capacities. No guidebook or config files for this mod were available, so check these in-game before you plan a build around them.
How do you progress through Extended Industrialization?
5 parts
Extended Industrialization's machines are built from Modern Industrialization parts, so they climb the same ladder you're already on. You start with bronze machines, move to steel, then electric, and the solar panels and tesla receiver hatches continue up through the LV, MV, HV and EV tiers. This breakdown follows the in-pack recipes, and each recipe block shows exactly what you need in this pack.[3]
Bronze tier
Your first machines from this mod are the bronze ones: the Bronze Bending Machine, the Bronze Composter and the Bronze Solar Boiler. The Large Steam Furnace and Large Steam Macerator also belong to this stage. They're built from a Modern Industrialization bronze furnace and bronze macerator.[3]

How does Extended Industrialization work with other mods?
5 parts
Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization, so its integrations in this pack almost all run through that mod. Nearly every Extended Industrialization machine is built from Modern Industrialization parts like casings, hulls, circuits, rotors and cables. Many are also made in Modern Industrialization machines such as the Assembler, Packer and Unpacker.[1][3]
Crafting table or Assembler, your choice
Most Extended Industrialization machines and components have two recipes with the same inputs: a normal shaped crafting recipe and a Modern Industrialization Assembler recipe. Early on, you can hand-craft them. Once your Assembler is running, you can automate them.[3]
Machine tiers built on Modern Industrialization parts
- Bronze-tier machines like the Bronze Bending Machine and Bronze Composter start from a Bronze Machine Casing.[3]
- Steel-tier machines like the Steel Alloy Smelter, Steel Brewery, Steel Canning Machine and Steel Honey Extractor use a Steel Machine Casing.[3]
- Electric machines like the Electric Alloy Smelter, Electric Bending Machine and Electric Composter are built on a Basic Machine Hull.[3]
- Higher-tier gear uses higher-tier hulls. The HV Solar Panel and HV Tesla Receiver Hatch use a Turbo Machine Hull, and the EV Tesla Receiver Hatch uses a Highly Advanced Machine Hull.[3]
Upgrading bronze machines to steel
You don't have to rebuild your bronze machines. Combine a Bronze Bending Machine or Bronze Composter with a Steel Upgrade to get the steel version. You can do this shapelessly in a crafting grid or in a Modern Industrialization Packer. Changed your mind? The Unpacker splits the steel machine back into the bronze machine and the Steel Upgrade.[3]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: extended_industrialization:machines/bending_machine/craft/upgrade_steel
The Unpacker also takes apart an EV Tesla Receiver Hatch. It gives back the Tesla Receiver and the Highly Advanced Machine Hull.[3]
The Farmer chain
The farming line shows the two mods working together nicely. You make a Steel Combine from Modern Industrialization steel parts, and it goes into the Steam Farmer. That Steam Farmer then becomes an input for the Electric Farmer, alongside Modern Industrialization parts like the Large Motor and Robot Arm.[3]

What changed in Extended Industrialization between versions?
All the Mods 10 2.39 ships Extended Industrialization 1.14.5-1.21.1, from the file extended-industrialization-1.14.5-1.21.1.jar. It has been part of the pack since All the Mods 10 1.9 or earlier, so it's been along for most of the pack's life.[2]
Here's how the mod's version moved through recent pack releases, oldest first. The pack changelogs only record version bumps, not what each update changed.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
- All the Mods 10 2.28: updated from 1.11.0-beta-1.21.1 to 1.11.2-beta-1.21.1.[13]
- All the Mods 10 2.30: updated from 1.11.2-beta-1.21.1 to 1.11.5-beta-1.21.1.[12]
- All the Mods 10 2.31: updated from 1.11.5-beta-1.21.1 to 1.13.2-1.21.1. This is a bigger jump than the others, and the new version string no longer carries the beta tag.[11]
- All the Mods 10 2.33: updated from 1.13.2-1.21.1 to 1.13.5-1.21.1.[10]
- All the Mods 10 2.36: updated from 1.13.5-1.21.1 to 1.14.1-1.21.1.[9]
- All the Mods 10 2.37: updated from 1.14.1-1.21.1 to 1.14.4-1.21.1.[8]
- All the Mods 10 2.39: updated from 1.14.4-1.21.1 to 1.14.5-1.21.1, the version in the current pack.[2][7]
Unverified The specific features, fixes, balance changes or recipe changes in each of these versions aren't covered here, because the mod's own changelogs weren't available. If you're updating an existing world across one of the bigger jumps, like the move off the beta versions, it's worth checking the mod's official changelog before you update.
