What is Extended Industrialization?
1 part
Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization that piles a bunch of extra machines, power sources, tools and resources on top of what that mod already gives you. If you have already committed to the Modern Industrialization tech tree in this pack, this is the mod that fills in the gaps you start wishing for around the point where single-block machines stop keeping up.[1]
The machine list is the headline. You get an Alloy Smelter, Bending Machine, Brewery, Canning Machine, Composter, Farmer, Honey Extractor, Large Furnace, Large Macerator, Machine Chainer, Processing Array, Universal Transformer, Waste Collector and Wireless Charging Station. That is a mix of brand new processing options and scaled-up versions of things you already run, plus infrastructure pieces like the Machine Chainer and Universal Transformer for tidying up your builds.[1]
On the power side it adds a Solar Boiler and a Solar Panel, so you have passive generation options alongside the usual Modern Industrialization setups.[1]
For tools and gear, there is Canned Food, a Machine Config Card, a Steam Chainsaw, an Electric Drill and Chainsaw, the Ultimate Laser Drill and a Nano Suit. The resource additions lean agricultural and organic: Mulch, Manure, Composted Manure, NPK Fertilizer, Honey as a fluid, and Crystallized Honey.[1]
Where it fits in this pack
This pack ships Extended Industrialization 1.10.0-beta for 1.21.1, and it has been bundled since early in the pack's life. Because it is an addon, it does not give you a separate progression line to chase; it slots into the Modern Industrialization path you are already on, which means you will want that mod's basics working before most of this content is reachable.[1][2]
How do you get started with Extended Industrialization?
3 parts
Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization, so it doesn't give you a separate tech tree to climb. It slots extra machines, power sources, tools and resources into the tiers you're already working through, which means your first steps here are really just "keep doing Modern Industrialization, and build these along the way".[1]
Because of that, the order below follows the usual steam to steel to electric climb: bronze machines first, then the steel tier, then your first electric additions.[1][3]
Start at bronze
The cheapest way in is the bronze tier. The Bronze Bending Machine gives you an early source of bent parts, and the Bronze Composter gets you started on the mod's composting and fertilizer resources. Both of these recipes were changed by the pack, so build from the recipes below rather than anything you remember from the mod's defaults.[1][3]

Once your steam setup is running, the large steam machines are the next thing worth your bronze. The Large Steam Macerator and Large Steam Furnace are the addon's bigger steam-tier processing options.[1][3]

Into the steel tier
You don't have to rebuild your bending machine or composter from scratch. Both have a shapeless upgrade recipe that takes the bronze machine you already own and turns it into the Steel Bending Machine or Steel Composter.[3]

The rest of the steel machines are fresh crafts: the Steel Alloy Smelter, Steel Canning Machine, Steel Brewery and Steel Honey Extractor. The alloy smelter is usually the one to prioritise, since alloying stays useful at every tier after this.[3]

The farmer can handle several jobs at once. It tills dirt into farmland as long as water is supplied, hydrates tilled soil with water, plants crops and saplings on valid soil using the planting mode you pick, randomly bonemeals crops and saplings when given a valid fluid fertilizer, and harvests fully grown crops and trees when it has enough output space.[4]
Your first electric machines
Once you have power and circuits, the electric versions of the same machines open up, including the Electric Alloy Smelter, Electric Bending Machine and Electric Canning Machine.[3]

For bulk processing, the Large Electric Macerator and Large Electric Furnace are the electric step up from the steam pair. The macerator needs Steel Plated Bricks, whose recipe the pack changed, so craft those first.[3]

How does Extended Industrialization work?
5 parts
This mod is an addon for Modern Industrialization, so it doesn't invent its own power network or pipe system: it plugs new machines, generators, tools and resources straight into the framework you already use. If you know how to feed a Modern Industrialization machine, you already know how to run everything here.[1]
Machine tiers
The single-block machines follow the familiar steam-then-electric progression. Several of them come in a bronze steam tier, a steel steam tier and an electric tier, so you can start processing early and re-tier the same machine later instead of rebuilding your whole setup.[3]
The Bronze Composter and the Bronze Bending Machine are your entry points, and the pack has adjusted both of their crafting recipes, so check the recipe panel rather than trusting an old world's muscle memory.[3]

Moving up a steam tier doesn't mean crafting a whole new block. A Steel Upgrade converts a bronze machine into its steel version in a shapeless craft, giving you the Steel Bending Machine and the Steel Composter.[3]

Some machines skip the bronze stage and start at steel: the Steel Alloy Smelter, Steel Brewery and Steel Canning Machine are all crafted directly. Their electric counterparts: the Electric Alloy Smelter, Electric Bending Machine, Electric Brewery, Electric Canning Machine and Electric Composter: are built around a Basic Machine Hull and an Analog Circuit, so they land naturally once you're into early LV power.[3]

Alongside the machines you'll be making components and casings for them, including the Tin Can for canned food, the Steel Combine and Netherite Rotary Blade for the mod's farming and cutting gear, and Steel Plated Bricks, another recipe the pack has changed.[1][3]

Batching multiblocks
The mod's big multiblocks are the Large Furnace, the Large Macerator and the Processing Array. Instead of running one recipe at a time, they batch several together, and the pack exposes how aggressive that batching is in the startup config.[1][5]
- The Large Steam Furnace batches up to 8 recipes at once and pays 0.75× the normal EU cost per recipe, set by batching_machines.large_steam_furnace_size and batching_machines.large_steam_furnace_eu.[5]
- The Large Steam Macerator uses the same numbers: a batch size of 8 from batching_machines.large_steam_macerator_size and a 0.75× EU multiplier from batching_machines.large_steam_macerator_eu.[5]
- The Large Electric Macerator doubles the throughput, batching up to 16 recipes via batching_machines.large_electric_macerator_size while keeping the 0.75× cost from batching_machines.large_electric_macerator_eu.[5]
- The Processing Array runs at a plain 1× EU multiplier set by batching_machines.processing_array_eu, and allow_upgrades_in_processing_array is enabled in this pack so you can slot upgrades into it.[5]
All of these values match the mod's own defaults in this pack, so guides written for the mod elsewhere still apply to the numbers above.[5]
Automation and logistics
The Machine Chainer is the mod's answer to pipe spaghetti. It connects consecutive machines in a straight line in the direction it faces, and it accepts items, fluids and energy, distributing all three to every machine in the chain. In this pack it can carry up to 64 connections, set by machine_chainer_max_connections.[4][5]
The Machine Config Card saves a machine's settings so you can stamp them onto the rest of your array. You save settings by using a keybind combination on a configured machine, apply them with a use on another machine, and clear the card by using the same combination on air. Handy trick: hold the card in your off-hand while placing machines and they'll be configured automatically as they go down.[4]
For power distribution without cables, the Wireless Charging Station has a local variant with a range of 32, controlled by local_wireless_charging_station_range. There's also a Universal Transformer for stepping power between tiers, and Solar Panel and Solar Boiler generators if you want passive input.[1][5]
World-interaction machines
Several machines interact with the world around them rather than with a recipe list. The Farmer handles a whole crop cycle on its own, and each task has its own requirements.[1][4]
- Tilling turns dirt blocks into farmland, but only while water is supplied.[4]
- Hydrating keeps tilled soil wet, again using supplied water.[4]
- Planting places supplied crops or saplings on valid soil, and different planting modes lay them out in different arrangements.[4]
- Fertilizing randomly bonemeals crops and saplings when a valid fluid fertilizer is supplied.[4]
- Harvesting collects fully grown crops and trees, provided there's enough output space.[4]
The Honey Extractor is placed facing into a beehive and pulls honey out in fluid form, and the Waste Collector goes underneath animals to collect manure. Between those, the composters and the mod's mulch, composted manure and NPK fertilizer resources, you can build a closed agricultural loop that feeds itself.[1][4]
Tools and equipment
The electric tools (the drill and chainsaw line) are mode-driven rather than fixed. Keybinds let you swap between Fortune and Silk Touch (or Fortune/Looting and Silk Touch on tools that can loot), change mining speed on the fly, and toggle 3x3 mining. The Nano Suit works the same way, with togglable Night Vision, a Speed Boost and Creative Flight while it's equipped, and it can be dyed and trimmed like normal armour.[1][4]
Unverified Exact EU costs, tank and buffer sizes, multiblock shapes and the specific keybinds used by the tools and Nano Suit aren't covered by the available sources. Check the in-game tooltips and recipe viewer for those. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you progress through Extended Industrialization?
5 parts
This mod doesn't have its own separate tech tree in the pack. Instead, every machine it adds slots into the Modern Industrialization ladder you're already climbing: bronze and steam first, then steel, then the electric tiers. If you can build the base mod's machines of a given tier, you can build this mod's additions for that tier too.[3]
Bronze and steam tier
Your first additions arrive alongside your bronze machines. The Bronze Bending Machine, Bronze Composter, Bronze Waste Collector and Bronze Solar Boiler are all straight bronze-tier crafts, and the Large Steam Furnace and Large Steam Macerator give you multiblock versions of the two steam machines you use most.[3]
Two crafts here were changed by the pack rather than left at the mod's defaults, so check them in JEI before you go gathering materials.[3]

The Steam Farmer also sits in this tier, but it needs a Steel Combine component, so it's realistically a late-steam project.[3]
Steel tier
Steel is where the mod really opens up. You get the Steel Alloy Smelter, Steel Brewery, Steel Canning Machine and Steel Honey Extractor as fresh crafts, plus the Steel Plated Bricks casing block, whose recipe the pack has changed from the mod default.[3]

LV electric
Once you're running cables, the electric line duplicates the steel machines and adds a few new ideas. Expect the Electric Alloy Smelter, Electric Bending Machine, Electric Brewery, Electric Canning Machine, Electric Composter and Electric Honey Extractor, all built on basic machine hulls and analog circuits.[3]
Three quality-of-life blocks land around the same point: the LV Solar Panel for trickle power, the Universal Transformer for voltage juggling, and the Machine Chainer Relay, which is cheap enough that you can build it as soon as you have a cupronickel coil.[3]
MV and advanced
Advanced machine hulls and electronic circuits unlock the next block of content: the Large Electric Furnace, the Large Electric Macerator, the MV Solar Panel and the extended_industrialization:local_wireless_charging_station. The Electric Farmer sits here too, and it's an upgrade rather than a new build, so look at its recipe before you break your steam farmer.[3]

Late game
The last tier rides on digital circuits and turbo hulls for the HV Solar Panel and extended_industrialization:global_wireless_charging_station, with the Processing Array arriving once you have an assembler and clean stainless steel casings. The Netherite Rotary Blade is a stainless-steel-era component, and the extended_industrialization:interdimensional_wireless_charging_station is the genuine end of the line, needing a highly advanced machine hull, a processing unit and a superconductor coil.[3]
How does Extended Industrialization work with other mods?
4 parts
Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization, and that shows in every single recipe: it adds machines, power sources, tools and resources on top of that mod rather than standing on its own.[1]
Built entirely from Modern Industrialization parts
There is no separate component tree to learn here. The addon's machines are put together from the parts you already make for Modern Industrialization (machine hulls, circuits, motors, pumps, cables, coils, batteries, tanks and rotors) so your existing assembly line feeds straight into it.[3]
That also means the addon follows the same tier curve. Early machines like the Electric Alloy Smelter and Electric Bending Machine lean on basic hulls and analog circuits, while the extended_industrialization:global_wireless_charging_station and extended_industrialization:interdimensional_wireless_charging_station sit at the turbo and highly advanced hull end of the tree.[3]

The HV Solar Panel is a good example of how deep into the Modern Industrialization tree the later additions reach.
Crafted in MI machines, not just the crafting table
Nearly everything in the addon has two recipes: a shaped crafting version and an equivalent Modern Industrialization Assembler recipe, so you can automate the whole line once your Assembler is running.[3]
The addon also hooks into MI's Packer and Unpacker. The Large Configurable Chest can be made in a Packer as well as by hand, and the bronze-to-steel machine upgrades work in a Packer with a Steel Upgrade, with the Unpacker reversing them to hand your Steel Upgrade back.[3]
Packer (modern_industrialization)
Recipe id: extended_industrialization:machines/bending_machine/packer/upgrade_steel
The composter upgrades the same way, and the Unpacker recipes undo both.
Shared tags and vanilla items
Several recipes accept common tags instead of specific items (steel and invar plates, copper gears and rods, bronze and stainless steel rods, and glass blocks) so equivalent materials from other mods in the pack will slot in.[3]
Vanilla gets a look-in too: both tiers of brewery need Blaze Rod, so a Nether trip is on the checklist before you start brewing.[3]
What the pack changed
A handful of these cross-mod recipes are pack edits rather than mod defaults. The Steel Plated Bricks casing, the Bronze Bending Machine and the Bronze Composter all use adjusted recipes here, in both their crafting-table and Assembler forms.[3]

Which Extended Industrialization config options matter?
2 parts
Everything for this mod lives in one startup config file, and the good news is short: the pack leaves every value in it at the mod's default. Nothing here has been rebalanced, so if you've used these machines elsewhere they'll behave exactly the way you expect.[5]
Batching machines
The large multiblocks and the Processing Array process several recipes at once, and two settings control each of them: a batch size cap and an EU cost multiplier. The multiplier is what makes batching worth building for, since a value below 1 means each recipe in the batch costs less energy than running it solo.[5]
- The Large Electric Macerator batches up to 16 recipes at once, at an EU cost multiplier of 0.75: the pack's value matches the mod default.[5]
- The Large Steam Macerator and Large Steam Furnace each batch up to 8 recipes, both also at a 0.75 EU multiplier, both at their defaults.[5]
- The Processing Array uses an EU multiplier of 1, so it gets no energy discount for batching: again the mod default, unchanged by the pack.[5]
Quality of life settings
- Upgrades are allowed in the Processing Array in this pack, matching the mod default, so you can speed it up the same way you would a normal machine.[5]
- The Machine Chainer is capped at 64 connections, the mod default. The option accepts 1 to 128 if you want longer chains.[5]
- The local Wireless Charging Station covers a range of 32, also left at the mod default. Any value above 0 is accepted.[5]
What changed in Extended Industrialization between versions?
3 parts
All the Mods 10 2.12 ships Extended Industrialization 1.10.0-beta-1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier. The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own release notes, and only the releases I have notes for are covered.[2]
1.10.0-beta (the version in the pack)
- The Machine Chainer can now be placed in vertical orientations, and its recipe was nerfed.[6]
- The Farmer now supports Kelp and has Mystical Agriculture compatibility. Roots Classic berries also got the farmer voidable tag.[6]
- The Machine Config Card now supports the overdrive module. A crash caused by item stacks that were not copied when saved to the card is fixed.[6]
- The Steam Chainsaw no longer fails to consume water.[6]
- An exception when loading blockstates for fluids is fixed.[6]
- Redstone spam no longer prevents rebuilding links more than once in the same tick.[6]
- The mod also follows changes in the Modern Industrialization API and uses the new Tesseract parser API.[6]
1.9.0 to 1.9.4 (Minecraft 1.21.1)
- 1.9.0 updated the mod to Minecraft 1.21.1.[7]
- 1.9.1 swapped to the new Tesseract packet API and made keybinds use the in game key conflict context.[8]
- 1.9.4 fixed the nano suit always trying to use energy when enabled, instead of only when it has energy. It also fixed the Curios version range for Adorn's Curios continuation and added translations for item tags.[9]
1.7.2 and earlier (Minecraft 1.21)
- 1.7.2 added a 3x3 option for the Electric Drill and Ultimate Laser Drill, and a tooltip showing the Ultimate Laser Drill is dyeable. It also added block recipes for the Alloy Smelter and buffed Composter recipes.[10]
- 1.7.2 also reworked the Machine Chainer internally. It added in world rendering when you hold a valid machine or a wrench, plus a config option for the machine link limit. Other changes were a fix for solar panel directional output, proper hatch casing for the Large Steam Furnace, and a crash fix for the Machine Config Card on machines with no locked slots.[10]
- 1.7.1 fixed a startup mixin crash.[11]
- 1.6.0 made the Machine Config Card copy electric machine panel items (upgrades, redstone control module, casing). You can now hold the card in your off-hand while placing machines to apply its settings automatically.[12]
- 1.6.0 also added proper keybinds to the Machine Config Card and Steam Chainsaw tooltips, added Brewery info on how it works, and added dust tags to granite dust.[12]
- 1.5.5 updated the mod to MI 2.2.17-beta.[13]
