What is Extended Industrialization?

2 parts

Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization. It adds new machines, power sources, tools, resources and more on top of the base mod. If you're already building out Modern Industrialization, this is the mod that gives you extra things to build.[1]

The pack ships version 1.15.0-1.21.1 of the mod, and it has been in the pack since 2.2 or earlier.[2]

What it adds

  • Machines such as the Alloy Smelter, Bending Machine, Brewery, Canning Machine, Composter, Farmer, Honey Extractor, Large Furnace, Large Macerator, Machine Chainer, Processing Array, Universal Transformer, Waste Collector and Wireless Charging Station.[1]
  • Generators: the Solar Boiler and the Solar Panel.[1]
  • Tools and equipment: Canned Food, the Machine Config Card, the Steam Chainsaw, the Electric Drill and Chainsaw, the Ultimate Laser Drill and the Nano Suit.[1]
  • Resources including Mulch, Manure, Composted Manure, NPK Fertilizer, Honey (fluid) and Crystallized Honey.[1]

Where it fits in the pack's progression

The pack's quest book brings this mod in step by step as you move through the Modern Industrialization tiers. In the steam age you're asked to make the Bronze Bending Machine, the Large Steam Macerator and the Large Steam Furnace. They appear in quests a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[3]

In the electric age the quests move on to the Electric Bending Machine, the Large Electric Furnace and the Large Electric Macerator. These are quests a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?". The two large machines are multiblocks, so their quests also ask for hatches. The furnace quest also asks for cupronickel coils and heatproof machine casings. The macerator quest asks for Steel Plated Bricks.[4]

Later, the age of oil chapter has a quest for the Processing Array, which is another multiblock with its own casing and hatch requirements: a quest in "?". The nuclear age chapter has the endgame piece: the full Quantum Nano armor set, made up of the Quantum Nano Helmet, Quantum Nano Chestplate, Quantum Nano Leggings and Quantum Nano Boots, in quest a quest in "?".[5][6]

How do you get started with Extended Industrialization?

5 parts

Extended Industrialization is an addon that adds extra machines, generators, tools and resources on top of Modern Industrialization. In this pack, your first steps with it follow the quest chapters: the steam age, the electric age, the age of oil and later the nuclear age. Here is what to make, in that order.[1][3][4][5][6]

Step 1: Steam age basics

The steam age chapter gives you three Extended Industrialization machines to build: the Bronze Bending Machine, the Large Steam Macerator and the Large Steam Furnace. They are quests a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[3]

Start with the bending machine. The pack changed its bronze recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. The recipe below is the one that counts here.[7]

Next come the large steam machines. Both can be crafted in the pack, and the assembler versions of the recipes also exist.[7]

Step 2: Steel Plated Bricks

You will need Steel Plated Bricks soon, because the electric age quest for the Large Electric Macerator asks for 22 of them. The pack changed this recipe, so check it here.[4][7]

Tip: The two large electric machine quests ask for more than the machine itself. Each also wants an item input hatch, an item output hatch and an energy input hatch. The furnace quest also asks for 8 Cupronickel Coil and 14 Heatproof Machine Casing, and the macerator quest asks for the 22 Steel Plated Bricks. Gather these before you start building.[4]

Step 4: The Processing Array

In the age of oil chapter, quest a quest in "?" has you build the Processing Array. It also asks for hatches, 6 glass, 2 stainless steel machine casing pipes and 15 clean stainless steel machine casings.[5]

Looking further ahead

Much later, the nuclear age chapter asks for the full Quantum Nano Suit in quest a quest in "?". It covers the Quantum Nano Helmet, Quantum Nano Chestplate, Quantum Nano Leggings and Quantum Nano Boots. Each piece is made by upgrading the matching Nano Suit piece in a packer with a Quantum Upgrade.[6][7]

How does Extended Industrialization work?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.10 guide

Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization. It adds new machines such as the Alloy Smelter, Bending Machine, Brewery, Canning Machine, Composter, Farmer, Large Furnace, Processing Array and Universal Transformer, plus generators, tools and farming resources.[1]

Machine tiers and crafting

Several of the new machines come in more than one tier. The Bending Machine has a bronze, a steel and an electric version, while the Alloy Smelter, Brewery and Canning Machine show up here as steel and electric versions. You don't craft the steel Bending Machine from scratch. You upgrade the bronze one instead, and that recipe is shapeless.[8]

Configuring and automating machines

Machines from this mod have a machine configuration panel that you open by clicking. The Machine Config Card saves a machine's settings so you can copy them onto others. You save with a key combination on a machine, apply with a use click on another machine, and clear the card with a key combination on air. You can also hold the card in your off-hand while placing machines to apply the settings automatically.[9]

The Machine Chainer is the main automation helper. It connects a limited number of consecutive machines in a straight line, in the direction it faces. It accepts items, fluids and energy and distributes them to the machines it's connected to. It can connect to other Machine Chainers, but it must not link back to itself.[9]

Wireless power: the Tesla system

Tesla machines send energy wirelessly. A Tesla Coil transmits to linked receivers within a set range, and the hull you provide sets the voltage. Higher voltages have an increased passive drain.[9]

The Tesla Tower also transmits to linked receivers within range. Its windings determine the energy transfer rate, range and passive drain, while its energy hatches set the voltage. All the hatches must be the same tier. A Tesla interdimensional upgrade removes the range limitation on a Tower and lets it transmit energy across dimensions.[9]

On the receiving end, a Tesla Receiver must accept energy of the same voltage as the transmitter it's linked to. The Tesla Calibrator handles the linking: you save a transmitter's position with a key combination, then use the calibrator on a receiver to link it. As with the config card, you can hold it in your off-hand while placing receivers to link them automatically. A handheld receiver also works. It links to a transmitter, then charges items while they're in your inventory and you're within range.[9]

Tip: Match voltages before you link anything. A receiver must accept the same voltage as its transmitter, and higher voltages mean more passive drain.[9]

Two extras are worth knowing. The Tesla Lethal Coil deals damage to entities nearby while powered. The Tesla Particle Generator generates arcs for aesthetic purposes only.[8][9]

Farming and resource machines

The Farmer handles several separate tasks, and each has its own requirement:[9]

  • Tilling turns dirt blocks into farmland, but it won't work unless water is supplied.[9]
  • Hydrating waters tilled soil when the machine is supplied with water.[9]
  • Planting places crops or saplings on valid soil, and different planting modes give different arrangements.[9]
  • Fertilizing randomly bonemeals crops and saplings when supplied with a valid fluid fertilizer.[9]
  • Harvesting collects fully grown crops and trees, as long as there is enough output space.[9]

Two smaller machines produce resources. The Honey Extractor gives honey in fluid form when placed facing into a beehive. The Waste Collector collects manure when placed underneath animals.[9]

Canned food

The Robot Auto Feeder automatically grabs Canned Food from your inventory and feeds it to you, and it also works with items that hold items, such as backpacks. The Tin Can has its own crafting recipe.[8][9]

How do you progress through Extended Industrialization?

5 parts

Extended Industrialization builds on Modern Industrialization, and in this pack its machines are spread across several quest chapters. The path runs from steam-age multiblocks, through electric machines, to a processing array and finally Quantum Nano armor. Here is how it breaks down tier by tier.[3][4][5][6]

Steam tier

The steam_age chapter asks for three of the mod's machines: the Bronze Bending Machine (quest a quest in "?"), the Large Steam Macerator (quest a quest in "?") and the Large Steam Furnace (quest a quest in "?").[3]

The pack changed the Bronze Bending Machine recipe, in both the crafting table and the assembler versions, so don't rely on the mod's default. This is the in-pack recipe:[7]

The two large steam multiblocks use the mod's normal recipes, and each can be made by hand or in an assembler.[3][7]

The Bronze Composter recipe is also changed by the pack.[7]

Steel upgrades

Some steel machines are made by upgrading the bronze version. The Steel Bending Machine is a shapeless craft of the bronze machine plus a Steel Upgrade, and an unpacker recipe reverses it. The Steel Composter is made from the bronze composter the same way.[7]

Electric tier

The the_electric_age chapter starts with the Electric Bending Machine (quest a quest in "?"). It then moves on to large electric multiblocks. Both quests also ask for item and output hatches and an energy input hatch.[4]

Steel Plated Bricks use a recipe that the pack changed, in both the crafting table and the assembler. Since the macerator quest wants 22 of them, it's worth knowing the recipe early.[4][7]

The single-block electric machines, like the Electric Alloy Smelter, Electric Brewery, Electric Canning Machine and Electric Composter, are all plain mod recipes.[7]

Oil age: the Processing Array

In the age_of_oil chapter, quest a quest in "?" asks you to build the Processing Array. It's a multiblock that needs 6 glass, 2 Stainless Steel Machine Casing Pipes and 15 Clean Stainless Steel Machine Casings. It also needs item input and output hatches and an energy input hatch.[5]

Nuclear age: Quantum Nano armor

The the_nuclear_age chapter has one quest from this mod, a quest in "?". It asks for the full Quantum Nano set: Quantum Nano Helmet, Quantum Nano Chestplate, Quantum Nano Leggings and Quantum Nano Boots.[6]

Each piece is made in a packer from the matching Nano piece and a Quantum Upgrade. The other pieces follow the same pattern as the helmet.[7]

Unverified The recipe list available here was cut off, so other pack changes beyond the Bronze Bending Machine, Bronze Composter and Steel Plated Bricks recipes may exist. The Tesla machines (Tesla Receiver, EV Tesla Receiver Hatch) have recipes but no confirmed quest, so where they fit in the progression is unverified.

How does Extended Industrialization work with other mods?

5 parts

Extended Industrialization is an addon for Modern Industrialization, so nearly everything it adds plugs straight into that mod's progression. You'll see it in the recipes: the machines, hatches and components from this mod are built from Modern Industrialization parts. The quests also pair the two, asking for Extended Industrialization machines alongside Modern Industrialization hatches and casings.[1][4][5][7]

Steam-age machines and the Steel Upgrade

The early machines are built on Modern Industrialization casings, rotors and pipes. Some recipes are listed as changed by the pack, so don't rely on the mod's default recipes for them: the Bronze Bending Machine, the Bronze Composter and Steel Plated Bricks. The sources don't say what exactly was changed, but the recipes below are the in-pack versions.[7]

Electric machines

The electric versions of the Alloy Smelter, Bending Machine, Brewery, Canning Machine, Composter and Honey Extractor are all built around Modern Industrialization's Basic Machine Hull and Analog Circuit. On top of that they use parts like motors, pumps, pistons, conveyors and tin cables, depending on the machine. The Electric Farmer is a step up: it takes the Steam Farmer plus a Large Motor, a Large Pump and a Robot Arm. The Electric Brewery and the Steel Brewery also need a vanilla Blaze Rod.[7]

Power and Tesla gear

The HV Solar Panel is built from late-game Modern Industrialization parts: a Turbo Machine Hull, a Digital Circuit, an Advanced Motor and an Aluminum Cable, among others. The Tesla receiver hatches follow the same pattern. The HV Tesla Receiver Hatch uses a Turbo Machine Hull, while the EV Tesla Receiver Hatch uses a Highly Advanced Machine Hull. The Tesla Particle Generator needs an Electronic Circuit.[7]

Looting and Silk Touch modules

The Looting Module and Silk Touch Module are assembler recipes. Both use a Robot Arm, Polyethylene and stainless steel plates. The Silk Touch Module uses Modern Industrialization's Invar Rotary Blade, while the Looting Module uses this mod's Netherite Rotary Blade.[7]

Where the quests tie them together

Tip: The multiblock quests accept several tiers of hatch, from bronze up to turbo for item hatches and from LV up to superconductor for energy hatches. You don't need one specific tier to finish them.[4][5]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Extended Industrialization?

4 parts

Extended Industrialization shows up in four quest chapters in this pack: steam_age, the_electric_age, age_of_oil and the_nuclear_age. Every quest below is untitled in the quest book. Each one asks you to get hold of an Extended Industrialization item, and some also ask for the parts of its multiblock.[3][4][5][6]

Steam age

The steam_age chapter has three quests, and each one asks for a single item. a quest in "?" wants the Bronze Bending Machine. a quest in "?" wants the Large Steam Macerator. a quest in "?" wants the Large Steam Furnace. All three unlock after a different earlier quest, so you can do them in any order once their own prerequisite is done.[3]

The electric age

The electric versions of those machines are in the_electric_age. a quest in "?" asks for the Electric Bending Machine and unlocks after its own earlier quest.[4]

a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" both unlock after the same earlier quest, so they open up together. They also ask for more than the controller, because they want the pieces to build the multiblock.[4]

Age of oil

The age_of_oil chapter has one quest involving the mod, a quest in "?". It asks for the Processing Array, 6 Glass, 2 Stainless Steel Pipe Machine Casing and 15 Clean Stainless Steel Machine Casing. It also needs an item input hatch, an item output hatch and an energy input hatch, and several tiers of each are accepted. It unlocks after one earlier quest.[5]

The nuclear age

The last one is a quest in "?" in the_nuclear_age. It asks for the full armor set: the Quantum Nano Helmet, Quantum Nano Chestplate, Quantum Nano Leggings and Quantum Nano Boots. It unlocks after one earlier quest.[6]

Unverified The quest data doesn't say which earlier quests unlock these ones, so the exact order across chapters isn't confirmed here. The chapter names suggest a steam, electric, oil, nuclear progression.

What changed in Extended Industrialization between versions?
