What is Create Crafts & Additions?
3 parts
Create Crafts & Additions is an add-on for Create that links Create's kinetic energy with electricity. If you like building Create contraptions but also want a way to move power around as Forge Energy, this is the mod for you. This pack includes version 1.7.0.[1][2]
What it adds
The two core machines are the Electric Motor and the Alternator. The Electric Motor turns Forge Energy into kinetic energy. The Alternator does the reverse and turns kinetic energy into Forge Energy. To craft them you first build a Rolling Mill, a kinetic machine that makes rods and wires.[1]
- Energy transport: Connector and Wires, a Redstone Relay that controls energy flow with redstone, and a multiblock Accumulator for energy storage.[1]
- Portable Energy Interface: transfers energy to and from contraptions.[1]
- Tesla Coil: charges electric items, and can also damage players and mobs.[1]
- Creative Generator: a limitless supply of Forge Energy.[1]
- Extras: Biomass and Biomass Pellets for fuel, Straw that lets a Blaze Burner burn liquid fuels, Diamond Grit Sandpaper, Barbed Wire and a Chocolate and Honey Cake.[1]
- ComputerCraft support: the Electric Motor provides a peripheral, and the Digital Adapter lets computers talk to various Create blocks.[1]
Who it is for
It suits players who already use Create and want to connect it to the pack's energy-based machines, or who want electric power inside their Create builds. The mod's own FAQ says to check JEI for any recipe, so look there when you need one.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, it is not on the ATM Star path, and no in-jar guidebook was found. Treat it as an optional extra that you pick up when it suits your build. The project page describes the Alternator as running at 75% efficiency, but I could not confirm whether this pack changes that.
How do you get started with Create Crafts & Additions?
6 parts
This mod extends Create and acts as a bridge between electricity and kinetic energy. The Electric Motor generates kinetic energy from Forge Energy, and the Alternator does the opposite at 75% efficiency. Here is the order I would build things in.[1]
Build the Rolling Mill
Start with the Rolling Mill. It is a kinetic machine that makes the wires and rods the rest of the mod runs on.[1]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: createaddition:crafting/rolling_mill
Later on you can automate the Rolling Mill with a belt and two funnels.[3]
Roll your first wires
The mill turns plates into wires. Copper wire comes first, because the copper spool you need next is built from it. Iron, gold and electrum plates have their own rolling recipes too, giving Iron Wire, Gold Wire and Electrum Wire. The copper recipe is shown below.[4]

Recipe id: createaddition:rolling/copper_plate
Make spools
Wire goes onto an Empty Spool, and the two recipes below show the empty spool and the Copper Spool. The copper spool is used in the recipes for the Alternator, the Electric Motor, the Tesla Coil and the Portable Energy Interface.[4]

Capacitor and connectors
The Capacitor is an ingredient in the Electric Motor, the Tesla Coil and the Accumulator, so make it before them.[4]

The Large Connector is for high current wires. You make its wire links while holding a gold or electrum spool, and it links up to 6 other connectors.[3][4]
Motor and alternator
Now you can build both machines. In this pack they are crafted with Create's mechanical crafting rather than in a normal crafting table.[4]

Electrum wire in this pack
The pack changed how you get electrum wire: a charging recipe turns gold wire into it. Keep that in mind when you plan high current lines, since electrum is one of the two spool types the large connector accepts.[3][4]

How does Create Crafts & Additions work?
8 parts
The mod's project page describes Create Crafts & Additions as a bridge between electricity (Forge Energy) and Create's rotational force. You turn power into rotation with motors, turn rotation back into power with the Alternator, and move the power around with wires, connectors and storage. Here is how each system works.[1]
Electricity and rotation
The Electric Motor is a compact, configurable source of rotational force. It needs an energy source. Scroll on its back panel to change the RPM of its rotational output. Its energy consumption depends on the RPM you set, so a faster motor drains more power.[3]
The Alternator does the opposite and makes electric energy from rotational force. It needs at least 32 RPM to operate, and the energy it produces depends on the input RPM.[3]
The mod's project page describes the Alternator as working at 75% efficiency. That is the mod's own description, not a value confirmed for this pack.[1]
Unverified The pack has no config files for this mod in the sources, so I can't confirm whether the 75% Alternator efficiency, or the motor's exact energy use per RPM, is changed in this pack.
The Servo Motor is crafted from an Electric Motor, a Mechanical Bearing and an Electron Tube.[4]
The Rolling Mill
The Rolling Mill is a kinetic machine that uses rotational force to roll metals into rods and wires. The project page says you need to make one to craft the Electric Motor and the Alternator.[1][3]
Crafting Shaped

- By hand: drop Ingots or Plates on top of the Mill, then right-click it to take the output.[3]
- Automated: feed it with a Belt and two Funnels.[3]
The Mill also rolls bamboo or paper into a Straw. These recipes use the mod's rolling type.[4]
The pack changed the charging recipe that turns gold wire into Electrum Wire. The recipe below is the pack's version.[4]
Charging (createaddition)
- any gold wire
Recipe id: createaddition:charging/electrify_gold_wire
Wires and connectors
Energy travels through wires between connectors. You make a wire link by right-clicking two connectors while holding a spool. The spool keeps its Empty Spool, so you don't lose it. The Copper Spool with Festive Lights is the exception, because it returns an Empty Spool.[3][4]
- Small Connector: uses low current wires and links with up to 4 other connectors. It accepts a Copper, Gold or Electrum Spool.[3][4]
- Large Connector: uses high current wires and links with up to 6 other connectors. It needs a Gold or Electrum Spool.[3][4]
- Small Connector With Light: works like the Small Connector and also gives off light when it receives power.[3][4]
- Spools: the Copper Spool connects to low current connectors. The Gold Spool and Electrum Spool connect to high current connectors.[3]
Each connector can be cycled between Push, Pull and None modes. These modes decide whether it sends energy out, pulls it in, or does neither with the Forge Energy compatible block it touches.[3]

Redstone Relay
The Redstone Relay only lets energy pass from its input connector to its output connector while it receives a redstone signal. It uses low current wires. The connector marked with an upwards arrow provides energy to its wires, and the one marked with a downwards arrow accepts energy from its wires.[3][4]

Accumulator and moving contraptions
The Accumulator is a multiblock structure that stores large amounts of electric energy. You configure one input connector and one output connector. The upward-arrow connector provides energy to its wires, and the downward-arrow connector accepts energy. For better mod compatibility, the Accumulator also actively pushes energy into blocks placed on its top and bottom faces.[3]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: createaddition:crafting/modular_accumulator
Accumulators on a moving contraption can't connect to stationary connectors. The Portable Energy Interface solves that without stopping the contraption.[3][4]
- Place one interface on the contraption and a second one with a gap of 1 or 2 blocks between them.[3]
- When they pass each other they engage. While engaged, the stationary interface represents all Accumulators on the contraption.[3]
- Energy is exchanged according to the Push/Pull configuration of the connector.[3]
- After no energy has been exchanged for a while, the contraption continues on its way.[3]

Charging items
The Tesla Coil charges items below it. That includes any Forge Energy items and more. It can also hurt nearby players and mobs when it gets a redstone signal.[3]
The Pale Gold Amulet charges items too. Hold it in one hand and it occasionally charges the item in your other hand.[3][4]

Fuel and the Blaze Burner
Give a Blaze Burner a Straw and it accepts liquid fuels from Buckets. Biomass Pellet is a powerful solid fuel. The mod's bioethanol is described as an efficient flammable liquid.[3][4]
Pellets come from compacting Biomass with water. You can also store them as a Biomass Pallet and turn the block back into pellets.[4]

Computers and automation
The Electric Motor can be controlled with ComputerCraft. Connect to it with peripheral.wrap(side), and run the /cca_api command in chat to see the API documentation.[3]
The Digital Adapter is a ComputerCraft peripheral. It lets computers talk to Display Boards, Speedometers, Stressometers, Rope Pulleys, Hose Pulleys, Elevator Pulleys, Mechanical Pistons, Mechanical Bearings and Rotational Speed Controllers. The pack changed its recipe, and the recipe below is the pack's version.[3][4]

How do you progress through Create Crafts & Additions?
6 parts
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest-guided order for this mod. The tiers below are my own grouping of how the in-pack recipes depend on each other, not an official progression.
Tier 1: Rolling Mill and wires
Wire is the first thing to sort out. The Rolling Mill is crafted from basic Create parts, so you can reach it early.[4]
Crafting Shaped

The Rolling Mill makes Iron Wire, Copper Wire, Gold Wire and Electrum Wire. It also makes a Straw, with the two recipes below.[4]
Rolling paper gives a straw.
Rolling bamboo also gives a straw.
The pack changed the charging recipe that gives you electrum wire from gold wire, so use the recipe below rather than what you remember from the mod's defaults.[4]

How does Create Crafts & Additions work with other mods?
3 parts
Create Crafts & Additions is built to extend Create, and the recipes in this pack show it. Most of the mod's machines are crafted with Create parts, and the Create crafting types do a lot of the work. There are also a few crossovers with food mods. The pack has no quests for this mod, so everything below comes from recipes.[1][4]
Create is the backbone
The Electric Motor, Alternator and Tesla Coil all use Create's mechanical crafting recipe type, so you need Create's crafting setup before you can build them.[4]

Create processing for fuel and food
Biofuel is made in Create's mixing process, so you need a Create setup for it. The cake chain works the same way: Cake Base comes from Create's compacting and Chocolate Cake comes from Create's filling.[4]
The Creative Blaze Cake
The pack adds its own Create mechanical crafting recipe for the Creative Blaze Cake, shown below. Because the pack adds it and not a mod, you won't find it in other modpacks. This mod's Chocolate Cake and Honey Cake are part of it, as is the ATM Star.[4]
