What is Create Crafts & Additions?
2 parts
Create Crafts & Additions is the bridge between electricity and Create's kinetic energy. If you have been running everything on water wheels and windmills and want to power things with Forge Energy, or feed Forge Energy from your Create setups, this is the mod for you.[1]
The pack ships version 1.18.2-1.0.0 of the mod.[2]
What it does
- The Electric Motor turns Forge Energy into kinetic energy. It also provides a ComputerCraft peripheral.[1]
- The Alternator does the opposite and turns kinetic energy into Forge Energy, at 75% efficiency.[1]
- The Rolling Mill is a kinetic machine that makes rods and wires. You need it to craft the motor and the alternator.[1]
- Connectors and wires move energy around. A Redstone Relay controls the flow with redstone, and the Accumulator is a multiblock for energy storage.[1]
- Extras include the Tesla Coil, which charges electric items and can also damage players and mobs, and the Portable Energy Interface for moving energy to and from contraptions.[1]
- There are also some fun side items, like Straw, which lets a Blaze Burner burn liquid fuels, plus Biomass fuels, Diamond Grit Sandpaper and Barbed Wire.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
The Rolling Mill is your entry point. The pack has a quest, a quest in "Blast Furnace (To make a different Anvil)", that asks you to obtain it, and it unlocks after another quest in the same chapter. Once you have the mill, rods and wires lead you on to the motor and alternator.[1][3]
Unverified The sources do not show whether this mod is part of the ATM Star quest path, and no in-jar guidebook was found, so check in-game before relying on either.
How do you get started with Create Crafts & Additions?
5 parts
Create Crafts & Additions is the bridge between Create's rotational force and electricity (FE). It adds the Electric Motor, which turns FE into rotation, and the Alternator, which turns rotation into FE. Both are built from metal parts that you can only make with one machine, so that's where you start.[1]
Step 1: Build the Rolling Mill
The Rolling Mill is a kinetic machine that uses rotational force to roll metals into rods and wires. The pack has a quest for it, a quest in "Blast Furnace (To make a different Anvil)", so you can follow it as a checkpoint. Here is the in-pack recipe:[1][3][4]

Step 2: Roll wires and make spools
The Rolling Mill turns an iron plate into Iron Wire and a gold plate into Gold Wire. It turns an electrum ingot into an Electrum Rod.[5]
Next, make an Empty Spool. A spool plus the right wire gives you a Copper Spool, which shows up in the motor and alternator recipes. Spools are also what you hold to run wires between connectors.[4][5]

Step 3: Craft a Capacitor
The Capacitor is a shared part of the motor, the alternator, the Tesla Coil and the Accumulator, so make a few. Note that the pack changes the recipe that presses zinc ingots into a Zinc Sheet.[5]

Step 4: Motor and Alternator
Both machines are made with mechanical crafting, not at a normal crafting table.[5]

The Alternator needs at least 32 RPM to run, and the more RPM you feed it, the more FE it makes. The Electric Motor needs a source of FE. You scroll on its back panel to set the RPM, and a higher RPM uses more energy.[4]
Step 5: Move the power
To get FE from A to B, craft a Small Connector for each end and link them with a copper, gold or electrum spool. A Small Connector links to up to 4 others. You can cycle each connector between Push, Pull and None modes.[4][5]

How does Create Crafts & Additions work?
7 parts
Create Crafts & Additions is a bridge between electricity (Forge Energy, or FE) and Create's rotational force. Everything below is about how those systems behave in this pack, and the numbers come from the pack's own config file.[1][6]
Turning rotation into FE and back
The Alternator turns rotational force into FE. It needs at least 32 RPM to run, and its output depends on the input RPM.[4]
In this pack its efficiency is 0.75 (alternator.generator_efficiency).[6]
Its internal capacity is 2,000 FE (alternator.generator_capacity).[6]
Its max transfer is 300 (alternator.generator_max_output), and that limits energy transfer, not generation.[6]

| Empty slot | any iron plate | any iron plate | Empty slot |
Recipe id: createaddition:mechanical_crafting/alternator
The Electric Motor does the opposite. It is a compact, configurable source of rotational force that needs FE. Scroll on the back panel to set its RPM, and the energy it draws depends on that setting.[4]
The motor's minimum energy consumption is 8 FE/t in this pack (electric_motor.motor_min_consumption).[6]
It holds 5,000 FE internally (electric_motor.motor_capacity).[6]
Its max input is also 5,000 (electric_motor.motor_max_input), and that limits energy transfer, not consumption.[6]
The motor's RPM range is set to 256 (electric_motor.motor_rpm_range).[6]
The FE conversion rate is 480 FE/t at 256 RPM (general.fe_at_max_rpm).[6]
The Alternator and Electric Motor are limited to a stress of 16,384 SU at 256 RPM (general.max_stress).[6]

The motor can also be controlled from ComputerCraft by wrapping it as a peripheral. The in-game command /cca_api shows the API documentation.[4]
Rolling Mill
The Rolling Mill uses rotational force to roll metals into rods and wires. To feed it by hand, drop ingots or plates on top, then right-click it to take the output.[1][4]
To automate it, use a belt and two funnels. In this pack a roll takes 100 ticks and the mill's base stress impact is 16.[4][6]

Wires and connectors
Connectors link FE-compatible blocks with wires. The Small Connector uses low current wires and can link to up to 4 other Small Connectors. The Large Connector uses high current wires and can link to up to 8 other Large Connectors.[4]
- Small Connector: 1,024 FE/t in and out, with a max wire length of 16 blocks.[6]
- Large Connector: 4,096 FE/t in and out, with a max wire length of 32 blocks.[6]
- The pack leaves wires.connector_allow_passive_io on, so blocks attached to a connector can pass energy to and from the connector network freely.[6]
You make the links with spools. A Copper Spool works on low current connectors, while the Gold Spool and Electrum Spool work on high current connectors. Right-click two connectors and the wire link is made while you keep the Empty Spool. The Small Connector also accepts the gold and electrum spools.[4]
To remove a link, right-click the two linked connectors with an empty spool and you get a filled spool back. The Copper Spool with Festive Lights connects to low current connectors too, but it returns an empty spool when used.[4][5]

Both connector types have Push, Pull and None modes, and the Push/Pull setting decides which way energy flows.[4]
The Redstone Relay lets FE pass from its input connector to its output connector only while it receives a redstone signal. The input and output connectors are marked with arrows. It sits on the low current network.[4][5]

Accumulator multiblock
The Accumulator is a multiblock that stores large amounts of FE. You configure one input connector and one output connector on it. To help with mod compatibility, it also actively pushes energy into blocks placed on its top and bottom faces.[4]
In this pack each block holds 4,000,000 FE. Input and output are each limited to 600 FE/t. The multiblock can be at most 3 wide and 5 tall.[6]

Portable Energy Interface
Accumulators on a moving contraption can't connect to stationary connectors. The Portable Energy Interface solves that without stopping the contraption.[1][4]
- Put one interface on the contraption and a second one at a stationary spot, with a gap of 1 or 2 blocks between them.[4]
- When they pass each other they engage. While engaged, the stationary interface represents all Accumulators on the contraption.[4]
- Energy is exchanged according to the Push/Pull configuration of the connector.[4]
- After no energy has been exchanged for a while, the contraption moves on.[4]
Redstone power on the stationary interface stops it from engaging. In this pack each interface moves up to 1,000 FE/t in and out.[4][6]

Tesla Coil
The Tesla Coil charges items below it. That includes any Forge Energy item and some other things, and the mod also lists Certus Quartz from Applied Energistics 2. With a redstone signal it can also shock nearby players and mobs.[1][4]
- It holds 40,000 FE, accepts up to 10,000 FE/t, and charges items at 5,000 FE/t (2,000 FE/t for recipes).[6]
- When it fires it uses 1,000 FE, with a 20-tick cooldown between shots and a range of 3 blocks.[6]
- A shot deals 3 half hearts to mobs and 2 to players, and applies the Shocked effect for 20 ticks. Shocking causes severely reduced movement speed.[4][6]

Liquid and solid fuels
If you give a Blaze Burner a straw, it can accept liquid fuels from buckets. Seed oil is described as a simple flammable liquid and bioethanol as an efficient one, and the Biomass Pellet is a powerful solid fuel. The pack changes the pellet's compacting recipe, so use the entry below.[4][5]

How do you progress through Create Crafts & Additions?
5 parts
In this pack, the quest line for this mod is short. The only quest in the sources, a quest in "Blast Furnace (To make a different Anvil)", asks you to obtain the Rolling Mill, and it unlocks after another quest in the same chapter. Everything after that is shaped by the recipes, so this page walks through them in the order you'll unlock them.[3]
The sources don't define formal tiers for this mod. The tiers below are my own grouping, based on which in-pack recipe needs the output of which earlier one.[5]
Tier 1: The Rolling Mill
The Rolling Mill is your entry point and the quest target. It unlocks the mod's own rolling recipe type, so build it before anything else here.[3][5]

How does Create Crafts & Additions work with other mods?
2 parts
Create Crafts & Additions is built as an add-on to Create, so most of its connections with other mods run through Create. The pack also adds a food link between this mod and the TFC cake setup. Everything below comes from in-pack recipes and quests.[1][5]
Create is the backbone
The Alternator, Electric Motor and Tesla Coil are all made with Create's mechanical crafting rather than at a regular crafting table. The recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[5]

Cakes with TFC and FirmaLife
The pack reworked this mod's cake recipes to plug into the TFC food setup. Filling a Baked Cake Base with Create's filling now gives you a Cake. The Chocolate Cake version uses Chocolate. Both of these recipes are changed by the pack, so they differ from the mod's defaults.[5]
The pack also adds recipes for cutting the Chocolate Cake and the Honey Cake into slices. You do this in the crafting grid with any TFC knife, and the knife takes damage each time.[5]

Which All the Mods - Gravitas quests use Create Crafts & Additions?
Only one quest in this pack's quest book is confirmed to involve this mod, so this section is short.[3]
The quest a quest in "Blast Furnace (To make a different Anvil)" has no title in the quest book. Its task is to obtain the Rolling Mill, so you hand in the item itself to complete it.[3]
The quest sits behind another quest in the same chapter, so you have to finish that prerequisite before the Rolling Mill quest unlocks. The chapter title shows up as an untranslated placeholder in the quest data, so I can't give you its name.[3]
Unverified Rewards for the Rolling Mill quest, any other quests for this mod, and the full order of the chapter are not confirmed by the available quest data.
Which Create Crafts & Additions config options matter?
4 parts
Everything below lives in the mod's common config, and the numbers are exactly what this pack ships with. If you're planning a power setup, these are the ones that decide how much you can store, move and generate.[6]
Converting stress and power
- general.fe_at_max_rpm is 480. That's the FE/t generated and consumed at 256 RPM.[6]
- general.max_stress is 16,384 SU at 256 RPM, and it applies to both the Alternator and the Electric Motor.[6]
- alternator.generator_efficiency is 0.75, so the Alternator runs at 75% of the base conversion rate.[1][6]
- The Alternator holds 2,000 FE (alternator.generator_capacity). Its transfer cap, alternator.generator_max_output, is 300. That cap limits transfer, not generation.[6]
- The Electric Motor holds 5,000 FE (electric_motor.motor_capacity) and accepts up to 5,000 (electric_motor.motor_max_input). Its minimum consumption is 8 FE/t (electric_motor.motor_min_consumption) and its RPM range is 256 (electric_motor.motor_rpm_range).[6]
Storage and wiring
- Accumulator: each block stores 4,000,000 FE (accumulator.accumulator_capacity). Input and output are both capped at 600 FE/t (accumulator.accumulator_max_input, accumulator.accumulator_max_output). The multiblock can be at most 3 wide (accumulator.accumulator_max_width) and 5 high (accumulator.accumulator_max_height).[6]
- Small Connector: 1,024 FE/t in and out, with a maximum wire length of 16 blocks (wires.small_connector_max_input, wires.small_connector_max_output, wires.small_connector_wire_length).[6]
- Large Connector: 4,096 FE/t in and out, with a maximum wire length of 32 blocks (wires.large_connector_max_input, wires.large_connector_max_output, wires.large_connector_wire_length).[6]
- wires.connector_allow_passive_io is true, so blocks attached to a connector can pass energy to and from the connector network freely. wires.connector_ignore_face_check is false, so connectors still check that the block face can support them.[6]
- Portable Energy Interface: 1,000 FE/t in and 1,000 FE/t out (portable_energy_interface.pei_max_input, portable_energy_interface.pei_max_output).[6]
Tesla Coil
- Energy: capacity 40,000 FE, max input 10,000 FE/t, charge rate 5,000 FE/t, and a recipe charge rate of 2,000 FE/t (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_capacity, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_max_input, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_charge_rate, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_recipe_charge_rate).[6]
- Each shot uses 1,000 FE, with a 20-tick fire interval and a hurt range of 3 blocks (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_energy_required, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_fire_cooldown, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_range).[6]
- Damage is 3 half hearts to mobs and 2 to players (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_mob, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_hurt_player). The Shocked effect lasts 20 ticks for both (tesla_coil.tesla_coil_effect_time_mob, tesla_coil.tesla_coil_effect_time_player).[6]
Other values
- The Rolling Mill takes 100 ticks per operation (rolling_mill.rolling_mill_processing_duration) and has a base stress impact of 16 (rolling_mill.rolling_mill_stress).[6]
- Barbed Wire deals 2 damage (misc.barbed_wire_damage).[6]
- Diamond Grit Sandpaper lasts 1,024 uses (misc.diamond_grit_sandpaper_uses).[6]
What changed in Create Crafts & Additions between versions?
1 part
This pack ships Create Crafts & Additions 1.18.2-1.0.0, and the mod was already in the pack by Gravitas 1.1 or earlier. The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so here is what the mod's own changelogs say.[2]
Release notes from the mod
- 1.18.2-20230411a: the initial Modrinth release.[7]
- 1.18.2-1.0.0: added the Electrum Ingot, Electrum Sheet, Electrum Wire, Electrum Rod and Electrum Spool.[8]
- 1.18.2-1.0.0: added the Large Connector.[8]
- 1.18.2-1.0.0: general fixes and a new versioning scheme, which is why the version number changed from a date-style name to 1.0.0.[8]
If you're on Gravitas 4.0, the 1.0.0 additions above are part of your install. The changelogs don't give any other details about these changes, so I'm not going to guess at how they work.[2][8]
