What is AEInfinityBooster?

2 parts

AEInfinityBooster is a small add-on for Applied Energistics 2 that adds two upgrade cards: the Infinite Range Card and the Dimension Card. If you have ever fought with wireless terminal range or tried to reach a base in another dimension, this is the mod that solves it.[1]

There is no machinery or new block chain here. The mod is just those two cards, so it slots straight into whatever AE2 setup you already have rather than asking you to build anything new alongside it.[1]

The two cards

This one is for players who have already committed to Applied Energistics 2 as their storage system and are starting to roam: mining trips, Nether and End builds, or satellite bases far from your main network. If you are still early on and standing next to your ME terminal most of the time, you can safely come back to it later.[1]

Where it sits in progression

In this pack the two cards are covered by a quest in "?" in the Applied Energistics 2 quest chapter, which asks for both the Infinite Range Card and the Dimension Card. It unlocks partway through that chapter rather than at the start, so treat it as an AE2 quality-of-life upgrade you pick up once your network is running.[2]

The pack ships AEInfinityBooster 1.21-1.0.1.38 on NeoForge, and it has been part of the pack since well before this version, so any older world you bring forward will already have the cards registered.[3]

How do you get started with AEInfinityBooster?

3 parts

This mod is small and focused: it adds an Infinite Range Card and a Dimension Card to Applied Energistics 2. That means there's no machine to build and no progression tree to climb: just two cards, and the second one is made from the first.[1]

So your path here is short. Get into AE2 far enough to make a Wireless Booster, craft the Infinity Range Booster, and then upgrade it into the Dimension Card when you have the materials.[1][4]

Step 1: the Infinity Range Booster

The Infinity Range Booster is your entry point, and in this pack its recipe is a custom one rather than the mod's own. It leans on AE2's Wireless Booster plus gears from AllTheOres, so you'll want a working ore processing setup before you start.[4]

Added by the pack, not the mod's default recipe.

Tip: Because this recipe is pack-added, don't go by any recipe you've seen for this mod elsewhere. Check the one above in-game before you start gathering.[4]

Step 2: the Dimension Card

Once you have the Infinity Range Booster in hand, the Dimension Card is the next and final craft. It consumes the booster you just made, so plan on making a second one if you want both cards at once.[4]

Uses the mod's own recipe in this pack.

The nether star in that recipe is the real gate here. If you haven't fought a Wither yet, treat the Dimension Card as a mid-to-late game goal and use the Infinity Range Booster on its own until then.[4]

The quest

This mod has a single quest in the Applied Energistics 2 chapter, a quest in "?", and it asks for both cards: the Infinity Range Booster and the Dimension Card. Since the Dimension Card eats the booster, craft two boosters so you can hand in one of each.[2][4]

The quest also sits behind an earlier AE2 quest, so it won't unlock until you've made your way through that part of the chapter first.[2]

Unverified Exactly what each card does once installed: the range it grants, which AE2 wireless devices accept it, and whether the Dimension Card works across every dimension in the pack, isn't covered by the sources available here. Test it in a creative world if you want to know before committing resources.

How does AEInfinityBooster work?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.0 guide

AEInfinityBooster is a small add-on for Applied Energistics 2. It adds two items: the Infinity Range Booster (the project page calls it the Infinite Range Card) and the Dimension Card. It has no machines or multiblocks of its own, so there is no power, fluid or item handling to set up for it.[1][5]

Crafting the cards

In this pack, the Infinity Range Booster uses a recipe the pack added itself. It is a shaped crafting recipe, and the pack's recipe dump marks it as added by the pack.[5]

The Dimension Card is a mod recipe, and the dump doesn't show the pack changing it. It is also shaped crafting, and it takes the Infinity Range Booster as one of its inputs. You have to make the Infinity Range Booster first.[5]

Chunk loading

Watch out: The Dimension Card's tooltip says it does not provide chunk loading capabilities. Don't count on it to keep an area loaded for you. Use a separate chunk loading setup if you need one.[6]

What isn't confirmed

Unverified The sources don't explain the exact range behavior of the Infinity Range Booster, how the Dimension Card handles cross-dimension connections, or which AE2 devices the cards work with. The pack also has no config files for this mod, so there are no options to tune.

How do you progress through AEInfinityBooster?

4 parts

This mod is short and sweet: there are only two items to chase, and they stack on top of each other. You start with the Infinity Range Booster, then upgrade it into the Dimension Card. Both are handled by a single quest in the pack's Applied Energistics 2 chapter, so you don't need to hunt through a separate mod tab to find them.[2][4]

Where it sits in the quest book

The quest for this mod, a quest in "?", lives in the applied_energistics_2 chapter and asks you to hand in both the Infinity Range Booster and the Dimension Card. It unlocks after an earlier AE2 quest, so work your way down the AE2 chapter first rather than expecting it to be available from the start.[2]

Tier 1: Infinity Range Booster

The first tier is the Infinity Range Booster. Heads up: this pack replaces the mod's own recipe with its own version, so anything you've seen in another pack or in an older guide may not match what's in your crafting grid. The recipe below is the one the pack actually ships.[4]

The pack's custom recipe for this tier.

Tip: Because the pack's version of this recipe leans on AE2 wireless tech and All The Ores gear, it's worth getting a basic gear press setup and an AE2 wireless line running before you come back for this one.[4]

Tier 2: Dimension Card

The second tier is the Dimension Card, and it's a straight upgrade path: the Infinity Range Booster you just made is itself a component of this recipe. That means you'll need to craft the first tier twice if you want to keep one on hand and still turn in the quest, since the quest asks for both items at once.[2][4]

This one uses the mod's own recipe in this pack.

Watch out: The Dimension Card recipe consumes an Infinity Range Booster, so don't rip the only one you own out of a working setup to make it. Craft a spare first.[4]

Suggested order

  1. Progress through the Applied Energistics 2 chapter until the quest that unlocks this one is complete.[2]
  2. Craft an Infinity Range Booster using the pack's custom recipe.[4]
  3. Craft a second Infinity Range Booster and use it to make the Dimension Card.[4]
  4. Turn both items in to complete the quest.[2]

Unverified The exact in-game behaviour of each tier (range, dimension-crossing rules, and how they interact with AE2 wireless terminals) isn't covered by the pack files available here, so check the item tooltips in game before building around them.

How does AEInfinityBooster work with other mods?

2 parts

In this pack, AEInfinityBooster connects to other mods mainly through crafting. The recipe for the Infinity Range Booster is added by the pack, and it mixes items from AE2, All the Ores and vanilla Minecraft. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[4]

Nexium Emitter

The card also feeds into another pack-added recipe. The Nexium Emitter needs an Infinity Range Booster, along with items from Advanced AE, AE2, Mekanism, Modern Industrialization and Powah. So this mod's card ends up as a crafting component for an All the Tweaks item that spans several tech mods.[4]

Quest

The pack's AE2 quest chapter includes the quest a quest in "?". Its tasks are the Infinity Range Booster and the Dimension Card. It sits in the Applied Energistics 2 chapter, so the pack treats both cards as part of your AE2 progression.[2]

Unverified The sources don't show whether any other recipes or quests in the pack use the Dimension Card, so this section doesn't cover them.

Which All the Mods 10 quests use AEInfinityBooster?

1 part

This mod only shows up in one place in the quest book: the Applied Energistics 2 chapter. There is a single quest there that involves it, so there is no long questline to follow.[2]

The quest is a quest in "?", and it has no title in the quest book. It has two item tasks: you submit the Infinity Range Booster and the Dimension Card.[2]

Order

The quest comes after a quest in "?" in the same chapter, so you need to finish that one first before this quest becomes available.[2]

Unverified The quest data I was given does not show what this quest rewards, or what the quest book says about the two cards, so I can't tell you either. Check the quest in-game to see them.

Which AEInfinityBooster config options matter?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

This mod keeps things simple: it adds two cards to AE2, the Infinite Range Card and the Dimension Card.[1]

Unverified This guide can't confirm which config options this mod has or how All the Mods 10 8.1 sets them. The pack's config files for this mod weren't available, and the project page doesn't describe any settings. Check the mod's config file in your own instance before you plan a network around specific values.

What changed in AEInfinityBooster between versions?

All the Mods 10 0.64 ships AEInfinityBooster 1.21-1.0.1.38, using the NeoForge jar. The mod has been in the pack since 0.32 or earlier, so it's been part of the pack for a good while.[3]

The mod's own changelog is kept on its GitHub project page, and that is the place to check for what changed between its versions.[7]

Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, so I can't confirm any notable changes to AEInfinityBooster across the pack's releases.
