What is Iron Jetpacks?
3 parts
Iron Jetpacks adds jetpacks that run on Forge Energy (FE). It is easy to pick up but very customizable: all jetpack stats and attributes are configurable, and you can add your own. It also comes with a set of default jetpacks made from vanilla and modded materials.[1]
This pack includes version 8.0.10, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack's quest book introduces the mod with the quest "Iron Jetpacks" quest in the Tips and Tricks chapter. Its task is to get a Jetpack. The quest says you start with a Wood Jetpack, which can be upgraded all the way to a Creative Jetpack. There are many versions, but they all work the same way.[3]
Unverified The sources here do not show where the Iron Jetpacks quest sits within the Tips and Tricks chapter, which quests come before and after it, or whether the ATM Star path uses this mod. Check the quest book in the pack for those details.
Wearing and powering a jetpack
You can wear a jetpack in the Chestplate slot, in a Back Curio slot, or in a Curio Curio slot. Every jetpack needs FE to work, and the quest says any Item Charger can charge one. If you run out of energy, you drop.[3]
How flying works
- Turn your Engine on with V by default, then hold Space to fly up. You drop when you let go.[3]
- If you don't want to drop, turn on Hover. It has no default key. With Hover on you stay at the same altitude, and you can go higher with Space and lower with Shift.[3]
- Change your Throttle to set how fast you fly. By default the comma key decreases it and the period key increases it.[3]
- The built-in HUD shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats.[1]
How do you get started with Iron Jetpacks?
5 parts
Jetpacks are a beloved way of getting around in this pack. The quest "Iron Jetpacks" quest in the Tips and Tricks chapter is where your jetpack journey starts. It tells you to begin with a Wood Jetpack, which can be upgraded all the way to a Creative Jetpack. Every version works the same way.[3]
First, get a jetpack
The quest task is to obtain a Jetpack, and the Wood version is the one to start with. Iron Jetpacks jetpacks run on Forge Energy (FE) and can be equipped as a Curio.[1][3]
Craft the basic parts
The mod adds a Leather Strap and a ladder of coils: Basic Coil, Advanced Coil, Elite Coil and Ultimate Coil. These are the mod's own recipes, unchanged by the pack.[4]

Equip and charge it
You can wear a jetpack in your Chestplate slot, in a Back Curio, or in a Curio slot. Every jetpack needs FE to work, and any item charger will charge it. If you run out of energy mid-flight, you drop.[3]
Learn the controls
- Turn your engine on with V (the default key). Hold Space to fly up, and you fall when you let go.[3]
- If you don't want to drop, switch on Hover, which has no default key. You then stay at the same altitude, go higher with Space and lower with Shift.[3]
- Change your Throttle to adjust how fast you fly. By default, comma decreases it and period increases it.[3]
Looking ahead: Creative parts
The pack adds its own recipes for the Creative versions of the Jetpack, Thruster, Cell and Capacitor. Here is the one for the top-end jetpack.[4]

How does Iron Jetpacks work?
3 parts
Iron Jetpacks is a Forge Energy (FE) based jetpack mod, so your jetpack runs on FE and works with other mods' power systems. The mod page describes it as fully customizable: every jetpack stat and attribute is configurable, and you can add your own jetpacks.[1]
Flying and the HUD
The mod has throttle controls, so you can change your aerial movement speed on the fly. A built-in HUD shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats. You can also equip a jetpack as a Curio.[1]
A jetpack's tooltip lists the stats that shape how it flies:[5]
- Horizontal Speed[5]
- Vertical Acceleration[5]
- Hover Ascend Speed and Hover Descend Speed[5]
- Sprint Fuel Modifier and Sprint Vertical Multiplier[5]
The mod ships a set of default jetpacks made of various vanilla and modded materials. The item names use a placeholder for the tier, so you get things like a Jetpack, a Thruster, a Capacitor and an Cell, each named after its tier.[1][5]
Crafting components
The sources show a few base components crafted in the pack. The Leather Strap is one of them:[4]

Pack-added recipes
The pack adds its own shaped recipes for the jetpack, thruster, energy cell and capacitor. Each one needs an Unobtainium Block. The sources don't say which tier each one makes.[4]

How does Iron Jetpacks work with other mods?
4 parts
Iron Jetpacks runs on Forge Energy (FE), which is what lets it work with other mods' chargers. The quest "Iron Jetpacks" quest says you can use any Item Charger to fill your jetpack.[1][3]
Creative-tier recipes that cross mods
The pack adds crafting recipes for the Jetpack, Thruster, Energy Cell and Capacitor, and their ids mark them as the Creative versions. Each one needs items from other mods in the pack, so you can't make these parts from Iron Jetpacks alone. Every one of them also uses an Block of Unobtainium.[4]
Jetpack
The Jetpack is the item the quest asks you to craft, and the quest says the line upgrades all the way to a Creative Jetpack. The pack's Creative Jetpack recipe pulls in an ATM Star and Insanium Essence alongside the Unobtainium Block.[3][4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Iron Jetpacks?
1 part
In this pack, Iron Jetpacks shows up in one quest, in the Tips and Tricks chapter. The quest is "Iron Jetpacks" quest, and the sources show no other quests for this mod, so there's no order to follow.[3]
Iron Jetpacks
The task is to get a Jetpack. The quest says to start with a Wood Jetpack, which can be upgraded all the way to a Creative Jetpack. It also says every version works the same way.[3]
Here is what the quest tells you about using one:[3]
- Where to wear it: the Chestplate slot, a Back Curio, or the Curio Curio slot, as the quest words it.[3]
- Power: every jetpack needs FE, and you can charge them with any Item Charger. If you run out of energy, you drop.[3]
- Flying: turn on your Engine with V, then hold Space to go up. You drop when you let go.[3]
- Hover: if you don't like dropping, turn on Hover, which is unbound by default. You stay at the same altitude, go higher with Space and lower with Shift.[3]
- Speed: change your Throttle. By default, Comma decreases it and Period increases it.[3]
