What is Iron Jetpacks?

2 parts

Iron Jetpacks adds fully customizable jetpacks that run on Forge Energy (FE). If you want to take to the air in this pack, this is the mod for it. This pack includes version 8.0.10.[1][2]

The mod ships with a set of default jetpacks made from a mix of vanilla and modded materials. Every jetpack stat and attribute is configurable, and the mod lets you add your own jetpacks too. Keep in mind that other packs can tune these values differently, so always check what this pack actually uses.[1]

What you get

  • FE power, so the jetpacks fit in with other energy mods.[1]
  • Throttle controls, so you can change your aerial movement speed on the fly.[1]
  • A built-in HUD that shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats.[1]
  • Curios support, so you can equip your jetpack as a Curio.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

The pack points you to the jetpack in the tips_and_tricks quest chapter. The quest a quest in "?" has an item task for Jetpack. That makes the jetpack a handy extra to pick up as you go, not a gate you have to pass.[3]

Unverified The sources don't confirm exactly when in the progression the jetpacks become practical to craft, or which materials and tiers the pack enables, so check the recipes in-game before planning a build around them. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Iron Jetpacks?

4 parts

Iron Jetpacks adds jetpacks powered by Forge Energy (FE). They come in a set of default jetpacks made of vanilla and modded materials, and you can equip one as a Curio. Here are the first things to look at in this pack.[1]

First, the Leather Strap

Start with the Leather Strap. It has its own crafting recipe in this pack, shown below.[4]

Finally, the jetpack itself

The pack's quest book has a quest in the tips and tricks chapter, a quest in "?", whose task is to obtain a Jetpack.[3]

Once you have one

Jetpacks run on Forge Energy. The mod also has throttle controls, and a built-in HUD shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats.[1]

A jetpack's tooltip lists its horizontal speed, vertical acceleration, hover ascend speed and hover descend speed, plus a sprint fuel modifier and a sprint vertical multiplier.[5]

How does Iron Jetpacks work?

3 parts

Iron Jetpacks is a jetpack mod that runs on Forge Energy (FE), which the mod page says gives it extensive compatibility with other mods. The page also describes it as fully customizable: jetpack stats and attributes are configurable, and you can add your own jetpacks.[1]

Flying and the HUD

You get throttle controls, which let you change your aerial movement speed on the fly. A built-in HUD shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats, so you can keep an eye on your charge mid-flight. You can also equip a jetpack as a Curio.[1]

The mod ships with a set of default jetpacks made of various vanilla and modded materials.[1]

What the stats mean

The mod's language file has tooltip lines for these stats, which describe how a jetpack handles:[5]

  • Horizontal Speed[5]
  • Vertical Acceleration[5]
  • Hover Ascend Speed and Hover Descend Speed[5]
  • Sprint Fuel Modifier and Sprint Vertical Multiplier[5]

The language file also names a Jetpack, a Thruster, a Capacitor and an Energy Cell, each shown with a material name in front. How these parts fit together isn't explained in the sources I have.[5]

Crafting components

This pack has shaped crafting recipes for the Leather Strap and for the coils: the Basic Coil, Advanced Coil, Elite Coil and Ultimate Coil. Here is how each is crafted in this pack.[4][5]

How do you progress through Iron Jetpacks?

3 parts

Iron Jetpacks has a small footprint in this pack's quest book. If you want to take to the air, here is what the sources show about the quest and the crafting parts.[3][4]

The quest

The pack has a single quest that points at this mod: a quest in "?". It sits in the Tips and Tricks chapter, it has no title, and its task is to obtain a jetpack (Jetpack).[3]

The coils

The pack has a crafting recipe for each coil, from Basic Coil through Advanced Coil and Elite Coil up to Ultimate Coil. Here is each one exactly as it works in this pack.[4]

All of these coil recipes are shaped crafting recipes that use a redstone dust and a wooden rod from the common tags, so any matching item works. What changes from coil to coil is the one extra material in the recipe, which you can compare in the blocks above.[4]

The strap

The Leather Strap has its own shaped crafting recipe in the pack too.[4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Iron Jetpacks?

Iron Jetpacks shows up in just one quest chapter in this pack: "tips_and_tricks". There's a single quest there that involves the mod, so there's no long questline to work through and no order to follow.[3]

The quest is a quest in "?", which has no title in the pack's quest file. Its task is an item task asking you to hand in a Jetpack.[3]

Unverified The quest file doesn't list any rewards or prerequisites for this quest, and it doesn't say which jetpack tier counts, so check the quest in-game for those details.

What changed in Iron Jetpacks between versions?

1 part

All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0.2 ships with Iron Jetpacks 8.0.10 for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier, so this is the version you're flying with.[2][6]

Iron Jetpacks 8.0.10

This comes from the mod's own changelog for the release in the pack. It's a small bugfix and polish update:[6]

  • Fixed a jetpack component ingredient not working with charged jetpacks.[6]
  • Improved the jetpack sound looping.[6]
  • Fixed the energy tooltip colors being inconsistent.[6]
  • Updated the pt_br translations.[6]

Unverified No pack changelog entries for Iron Jetpacks were available, so whether the pack itself changed anything for this mod across its releases is unverified.
