What is KubeJS?

3 parts

This pack ships KubeJS 2101.7.2 for NeoForge, and it has been part of the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier.[1]

You mostly meet KubeJS through the custom items that live under the kubejs namespace. The pack's quest chapters ask you to obtain them, and the sections below show where they turn up.[2][3][4]

ATM Star shards

The Creative chapter has five quests, one for each ATM Star part. Each quest's task is a kubejs shard item, and each one unlocks after a different quest in the chapter:[2]

Magical Soil

In the Mystical Agriculture chapter, the Magical-tier quests for Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium seeds also ask for Magical Soil. The quest text says each of these seeds needs Magical Soil placed below it to grow. See a quest in "Mystical Agriculture", a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" and a quest in "Mystical Agriculture". All three come after Insanium Farmland and Infusion Altar.[3]

Starlight Prediction

Generalized Starlight Prediction is the task item of a quest in "Hostile Neural Networks" in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter. That quest is described as making various Starlight Materials, and it comes after Simulating Deaths.[4]

How do you get started with KubeJS?

4 parts

KubeJS has no items of its own to speak of. The kubejs items you meet in this pack are ones the pack adds through scripts, and the recipe dump marks their recipes as added by the pack. The sources here give no fixed order for crafting them, so this section walks through them by where the recipes and the quest book put them.[5]

The Universal Press

The Inscriber Universal Press has a shaped crafting recipe, a circuit cutter recipe from Extended AE, and an AE2 inscriber recipe that takes a Universal Press as an input. The inscriber recipe id ends in "duplicate".[5]

Crimson Iron and Azure Silver processing

The pack adds a full Mekanism chain for Crimson Iron Shard and Azure Silver Shard. Both metals use the same steps, and each one is a pack-added machine recipe. The full route from ore looks like this:[5]

  1. Dissolve the ore, raw ore or raw block with sulfuric acid to get dirty slurry.[5]
  2. Wash the dirty slurry with water to get clean slurry.[5]
  3. Crystallize the clean slurry into a crystal, such as Crimson Iron Crystal.[5]
  4. Inject the crystal with hydrogen chloride to get a shard.[5]
  5. Purify the shard with oxygen into a clump, such as Azure Silver Clump.[5]
  6. Crush the clump into dirty dust, such as Dirty Crimson Iron Dust.[5]

You can skip the early steps. Ore, raw ore and raw blocks can go straight into an injecting machine for a shard, or into a purifying machine for a clump. These are the Crimson Iron versions, and Azure Silver has matching recipes.[5]

Magical Soil

Magical Soil matters for the Mystical Agriculture seeds. The Mystical Agriculture chapter lists these quests at the Magical tier, each placed after Insanium Farmland and Infusion Altar. They say Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium seeds need Magical Soil placed below them to grow. See a quest in "Mystical Agriculture", a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" and a quest in "Mystical Agriculture".[3]

The pack adds two recipes for it: a Mystical Agriculture infusion recipe and a shaped crafting recipe.[5]

ATM Star shards

The Creative chapter has one quest for each ATM Star shard, from kubejs:atm_star_shard_1 to kubejs:atm_star_shard_5. Each quest follows a different earlier quest:[2]

Tip: The Hostile Neural Networks chapter has a quest for Generalized Starlight Prediction, described as making various Starlight Materials. It comes after the Simulating Deaths quest.[4]

How does KubeJS work?

8 parts

Same as in the All the Mons 1.0.0-rc.4 guide

KubeJS is a scripting mod, so it doesn't add machines of its own. In this pack it does two jobs that matter for mechanics: it shows in-game Ponder scenes that teach you how to build Mekanism multiblocks, and it adds custom recipes for a few materials. The sources don't cover KubeJS's own settings or scripting API, so this section sticks to those two jobs.[6][7]

Multiblocks taught by Ponder scenes

The pack ships Ponder scenes for five Mekanism multiblocks. Open them in game for the full visual, and use the notes below as a quick checklist. In every scene, ports can be changed with a configurator.[6]

Fission Reactor

  • The edges must be casings, and the walls must be either casings or glass.[6]
  • Place Fuel Assembly blocks inside to make fuel rods, then put a Control Rod Assembly on top of each rod. The control rod assemblies sit 1 block from the ceiling.[6]
  • Fuel rods cannot touch each other. If you build several, a checkerboard pattern works best.[6]
  • The reactor needs at least 4 ports. One of the port modes is Output Heated Coolant.[6]
  • Logic Adapters give you redstone control. Right-click one to open its configuration.[6]

For a fail-safe, use two Logic Adapters. Set one to Activation and the other to Damage Critical. When the reactor reaches critical damage it gives off a redstone signal. The scene uses that signal to fire a piston carrying gravel or sand, which triggers an observer and turns the reactor off.[6]

Industrial Turbine

The turbine turns Heated Coolant into power. The edges must be Turbine Casings. The faces can be casings, structural glass, valves or vents. Valves pump steam in or export power.[6]

  1. Place the Turbine Rotors in the middle. Each rotor uses 2 Turbine Blades.[6]
  2. Put a Rotational Complex on top of the rotor.[6]
  3. Fill the layer around the Rotational Complex with Pressure Dispersers.[6]
  4. From that layer up, you can use Turbine Vents on the outer faces. They also export water from the turbine.[6]
  5. Place Electromagnetic Coils on top of the Rotational Complex.[6]
  6. Optionally add Saturating Condensers, which convert steam back into water. They must sit on or above the coil layer. The top face can also be swapped for Turbine Vents if you need that.[6]

Induction Matrix

The Induction Matrix stores a huge amount of power. The edges must be casings, and the faces can be casings or structural glass. Ports transfer power. Induction Cells increase storage and Induction Providers increase the transfer rate. The matrix must have at least one cell and one provider.[6]

Fusion Reactor

The Fusion Reactor can generate millions of RF per tick. The controller must go in the middle of the top face. You need a port for exporting power and two ports for inputting deuterium.[6]

  1. Put a Hohlraum filled with D-T fuel in the controller.[6]
  2. Fire 400MRF of lasers into the Laser Matrix. The Laser Amplifier needs its red face pointing toward the matrix.[6]
  3. Feed the reactor fuel. It mixes the D-T fuel at a set rate when the two are pumped in separately.[6]

Supercritical Phase Shifter (SPS)

The SPS converts polonium into antimatter gas and uses a large amount of power to do it. On one side you need a port in the middle to input power, with a Supercharged Coil placed on it inside. You can use multiple Supercharged Coils for higher power usage. You also need one port to input polonium and another to export antimatter.[6]

Pack-added ore processing chains

The pack adds Mekanism-style processing chains for two materials, Azure Silver and Crimson Iron. Each stage uses a standard Mekanism machine type, and the intermediate products are KubeJS items and slurries. The Azure Silver chain, which is fully shown in the recipe dump, runs like this:[7]

The pack added every one of these recipes. They are not mod defaults. Here are the crystal and clump steps as they work in this pack:[7]

Magical Soil

Magical Soil is a shaped crafting recipe added by the pack. It is a late-game craft that takes a long list of rare items, so open the recipe below to see the exact layout.[7]

Unverified The sources don't explain what Magical Soil is used for, and they don't give power or throughput numbers for the processing machines. Check those in game.

How do you progress through KubeJS?

5 parts

For this mod, progression is about the custom items the pack adds under the kubejs namespace. Three quest chapters ask for those items, and the recipe dump shows how the pack makes them. Here is the path as the quest book lays it out.[2][3][4][5]

ATM Star shards (Creative chapter)

The Creative chapter has five quests, one per ATM Star part, and each one asks you to hand in a numbered shard item. They are numbered 1/5 to 5/5, and each unlocks after a different earlier quest.[2]

  1. "Top ATM Star part" quest (1/5) asks for kubejs:atm_star_shard_1 and comes after the Soul Binding Crystal quest.[2]
  2. "Right ATM Star part" quest (2/5) asks for kubejs:atm_star_shard_2 and comes after the Whirlwind Prism quest.[2]
  3. "Bottom Right ATM Star part" quest (3/5) asks for kubejs:atm_star_shard_3 and comes after the Smelter Prism quest.[2]
  4. "Bottom Left ATM Star part" quest (4/5) asks for kubejs:atm_star_shard_4 and comes after the Sea Prism quest.[2]
  5. "Left ATM Star part" quest (5/5) asks for kubejs:atm_star_shard_5 and comes after the Terrastomp Prism quest.[2]

Magical Soil and the Magical seed tier

In the Mystical Agriculture chapter, three Magical-tier quests (a quest in "Mystical Agriculture", a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" and a quest in "Mystical Agriculture") cover the Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium seeds. Each one also asks for Magical Soil, and each comes after the Insanium Farmland and Infusion Altar quests.[3]

Tip: Those seeds only grow with Magical Soil placed below them, so make the soil before you plant.[3]

The pack adds two ways to get the soil: a shaped crafting recipe and an infusion recipe. Both are shown below.[5]

Starlight Prediction

In the Hostile Neural Networks chapter, a quest in "Hostile Neural Networks" asks for Generalized Starlight Prediction. The quest describes it as making various Starlight Materials, and it comes after the Simulating Deaths quest.[4]

Azure silver and crimson iron processing

The pack adds full processing lines for azure silver and crimson iron, and both use the same recipe types. Ore, raw ore or a raw block can enter the line at several points. The main route goes like this:[5]

  1. Dissolve the ore, raw ore or raw block to get a dirty slurry.[5]
  2. Wash the dirty slurry to get a clean slurry.[5]
  3. Crystallize the clean slurry into Azure Silver Crystal or Crimson Iron Crystal.[5]
  4. Inject the crystal to get Azure Silver Shard or Crimson Iron Shard.[5]
  5. Purify a shard to get Azure Silver Clump or Crimson Iron Clump.[5]
  6. Crush a clump to get Dirty Azure Silver Dust or Dirty Crimson Iron Dust.[5]

You can also skip ahead. Injecting ore or raw ore gives a shard directly, and purifying ore or raw ore gives a clump directly.[5]

Other pack-added crafting

The pack also adds a few recipes you may run into along the way. The Inscriber Universal Press has a shaped crafting recipe, plus a circuit cutter recipe and an inscriber recipe that duplicates it.[5]

How does KubeJS work with other mods?

7 parts

Same as in the All the Mons 1.0.0-rc.4 guide

In this pack, KubeJS adds custom items and recipes under the kubejs namespace, and many of them tie other mods together. Everything below comes from recipes and quests the pack adds.[7]

Applied Energistics 2 and its add-ons

The biggest link is the Inscriber Universal Press. It's a pack-made item that the Inscriber recipes below use in place of the separate presses. You craft it from AE2's Inscriber presses and some other items.[7]

The Inscriber recipes that use the press produce printed circuits from several different mods. From AE2 you get Printed Silicon, Printed Calculation Circuit, Printed Engineering Circuit and Printed Logic Circuit. The add-ons contribute Printed Concurrent Circuit from ExtendedAE, Printed Accumulation Circuit from MEGA Cells, Printed Energy Circuit from Applied Flux and Printed Quantum Circuit from Advanced AE.[7]

The press also unlocks ExtendedAE's Circuit Slicer. The pack gives it a Crystal Assembler recipe that needs the Universal Press.[7]

Infinity cells

KubeJS also adds a whole family of infinity cells, such as Dirt Cell, Basalt Cell, End Stone Cell and Ancient Stone Cell. Their recipes pull from AE2, MEGA Cells, All the Modium, All The Compressed and vanilla. The quest a quest in "?" accepts any of these cells, along with ExtendedAE's own infinity water and cobblestone cells. It describes them as cells that give a limitless supply of a certain type of resource.[7][8]

Mystical Agriculture and Immersive Engineering

Magical Soil is the key to the top-tier resource seeds. The quests for Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium seeds all say the seeds need Magical Soil placed below them to grow. See a quest in "Mystical Agriculture", a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" and a quest in "Mystical Agriculture".[9]

Its recipe spans All The Compressed, All the Modium, Mystical Agriculture, Mystical Agradditions and Productive Trees.[7]

The pack also adds Immersive Engineering cloche recipes that use Magical Soil with these seeds to produce essence. There is one each for Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium.[7]

Mekanism ore processing

Mekanism machines process two KubeJS-added metals, azure silver and crimson iron. The pack adds a chain of recipes for each one, starting from ores, raw materials, raw blocks, shards or crystals.[7]

Ars Nouveau

The pack adds essence blocks for Ars Nouveau's elements: Air Essence Block, Earth Essence Block, Fire Essence Block and Water Essence Block. You can turn each block back into its essence, for example Air Essence.[7]

ATM Star quests

The Creative chapter has five ATM Star part quests, each asking for one KubeJS shard, from kubejs:atm_star_shard_1 to kubejs:atm_star_shard_5. The top part, "Top ATM Star part" quest, comes after the Soul Binding Crystal quest. The right part, "Right ATM Star part" quest, comes after Whirlwind Prism, and the bottom right part, "Bottom Right ATM Star part" quest, after Smelter Prism. The bottom left part, "Bottom Left ATM Star part" quest, comes after Sea Prism, and the left part, "Left ATM Star part" quest, after Terrastomp Prism.[11]

Which All the Mons quests use KubeJS?

3 parts

In this pack, the kubejs namespace shows up in quests as custom items: the ATM Star shards, Magical Soil and the Starlight Prediction. They appear in three chapters: Creative, Mystical Agriculture and Hostile Neural Networks.[2][3][4]

Creative: the ATM Star parts

This chapter has one quest per ATM Star part. Each one asks you to hand in a single shard, and each unlocks after a different prism or crystal quest. They are numbered 1/5 to 5/5, so here they are in that order.[2]

Mystical Agriculture: Magical Soil

Three Magical-tier quests each ask for a seed plus Magical Soil. All three unlock after the Insanium Farmland and Infusion Altar quests. The quest text says each of these seeds needs Magical Soil placed below it in order to grow.[3]

Tip: Don't plant these seeds on ordinary farmland. Put Magical Soil directly below them, as the quests say.[3]

Hostile Neural Networks: Starlight Prediction

a quest in "Hostile Neural Networks" asks for Generalized Starlight Prediction and unlocks after the Simulating Deaths quest. The quest describes it as making various Starlight Materials.[4]
