What is Farmer's Delight?
2 parts
Farmer's Delight is a cozy expansion to farming and cooking. With a simple cooking system and familiar ingredients, you can prepare hearty meals, from sandwiches and salads to stews and desserts. It also adds a way to improve the soil your crops grow in, new tools and weapons, and decorations for your builds.[1]
This pack includes Farmer's Delight 1.2.11.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack's quest book puts Farmer's Delight in the "Building Tips!" quest chapter, as the quest "Farmer's Delight" quest. It is a building and decoration quest rather than a cooking guide. The path runs from "Building Tips!" quest to "Decoration!" quest, then to "Decor Mods!" quest, and Farmer's Delight comes after that last one.[3]
Two other quests also come after "Decor Mods!" quest: "Cooking for Blockheads" quest and "Handcrafted" quest. All three are about furnishing your base.[3]
The quest says you can use Farmer's Delight items for decoration as well as for food. It names the Stove, Pots and Pans as perfect for a kitchen, the Food Barrels as great for a pantry, the farm stuff as good outdoor decor, and the Cabinets as fitting anywhere. The quest asks you to obtain an item. The chapter has 27 more quests that aren't shown here, so check the quest book for the rest.[3]
Getting started
How do you get started with Farmer's Delight?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 6.6 guide
Welcome to the kitchen! Farmer's Delight expands farming and cooking with a simple cooking system and a handful of familiar ingredients. It also adds new tools, ways to improve your soil, and cozy decorations. Here's a sensible order for your first steps in this pack.[1]
Step 1: Forage for wild crops
The new crops grow wild across many climates, so keep an eye out while you explore. Cabbages and beetroots grow on beach coasts. Carrots and onions grow in temperate lands like plains and forests. Potatoes grow in cold lands like mountains and taigas, and tomatoes in arid lands like savannas and deserts. Rice grows in the ponds of wet lands such as swamps and jungles.[4]
Step 2: Craft a knife
Your very first craft should be a knife, and the Flint Knife is the easiest to start with. Knives are light melee weapons with fast swings and gentle damage. They're really gathering tools: they harvest Straw from grasses and guarantee secondary drops from animals. You also need one to cut Ham from Pigs or Hoglins.[4][5]
Your starter knife
Once you have iron, you can upgrade to the Iron Knife. Heads up: this pack has changed the recipes for the Golden Knife and the Diamond Knife, so check the recipe blocks rather than relying on memory from other packs.[5]

Step 3: Collect Straw and make Canvas
With your knife in hand, harvest grass, wheat or rice to collect Straw. Straw is a dry plant fiber used in crafting. The first thing to turn it into is Canvas, which feeds into items like the farmersdelight:basket and the Canvas Sign.[4][5]
Step 4: Build your kitchen
Next, make a Cutting Board. With a tool in hand, you use it on the board to break down an item. That's how you'll process many ingredients.[4][5]

Then craft the Cooking Pot, the heart of the mod. Put it down and start preparing meals. Warm bowl meals give the Comfort effect, which provides natural regeneration regardless of how hungry you are. Plated meals give Nourishment, which prevents hunger loss except when you use saturation to heal damage.[4][5]

Step 5: Start your farm
- Plant grains of Rice in a shallow water puddle.[4]
- Hang some rope above a tomato crop to make it grow taller.[4]
- Place Organic Compost down. It slowly decays into Rich Soil, an upgrade for your farms, and composts better with sun, water and mushrooms.[4]
- If you need dough early on, craft wheat with a Water Bucket. The bucket's water isn't used up.[4]
Once your crops are rolling in, you can store them compactly in crates such as the Cabbage Crate. The pack has changed the carrot and beetroot crate recipes, so check them in your recipe viewer.[5]
How does Farmer's Delight work?
6 parts
Farmer's Delight is a cozy expansion to farming and cooking. The core systems you will use are the cooking station, hand tools, better soil and a few crafting tricks. Here is what the sources confirm.[1]
Cooking Pot
The Cooking Pot is where you prepare meals. The mod's advancement for placing one says to put it down and start preparing meals. Its tooltip also shows that it holds a number of servings of the dish inside.[6]

Cutting Board and Knife
Use a Cutting Board with a tool in your hand to break an item down. The Knife is the lightweight tool of the mod, with fast swings and gentle damage. Knives can harvest Straw from grasses, and they guarantee secondary drops from animals. You can also use one to extract Ham from Pigs or Hoglins.[6]

Straw is the dry plant fibre you get from cutting grassy crops and plants with a Knife. In this pack it is also what you craft Canvas from.[6][7]
Skillet
The Skillet lets you cook on the go. Stand near heat and hold the food in your other hand. If you sneak, you can place the Skillet down as a block.[6]
Soil and crops
Organic Compost slowly decays into Rich Soil, which is an upgrade for your farms. Adjacent water speeds the decay up, and so do adjacent activators. The mod's advancement text says compost works better with sun, water and mushrooms.[6]
Mushroom Colonies need a very rich soil to grow. Once one is fully mature, shear it to harvest it.[6]
- Rice is planted in a shallow water puddle.[6]
- Hang rope above a tomato crop to make it grow taller.[6]
- Wild crops are found by biome: cabbages and beetroots on beach coasts, carrots and onions in plains and forests, potatoes in mountains and taigas, tomatoes in savannas and deserts, and rice in the ponds of swamps and jungles.[6]
Food effects
Meals can give you special effects. Comfort provides natural regeneration regardless of how hungry you are. Nourishment prevents hunger loss, except when saturation is used to heal damage.[6]
Crafting notes
Wheat becomes Dough when you craft it with a Water Bucket. The bucket's water is not used up.[6]
Crops can be packed into crates and unpacked again. The Cabbage Crate and the Cabbage show both directions, and both recipes are the mod's own.[7]
Unverified Cooking times and any other configurable values would be set in the mod's config files, but no config files for this mod are available in the sources here, so those values are unverified.
How do you progress through Farmer's Delight?
5 parts
The sources for this section are the pack's recipes, so I've grouped Farmer's Delight by how those recipes build on each other, from the cheap early pieces to the fancier food and storage. Treat this as a suggested order taken from the recipes, not an official progression.[7]
Unverified The sources here show no quests for Farmer's Delight, so where the mod sits in the pack's quest book is not shown and there is no quest-driven order to follow.

Start with the Cutting Board, a shaped crafting recipe. The first blade you can make is the Flint Knife.[7]

Farming, crates and compost
Crops like Cabbage and Onion can be packed into crates (Cabbage Crate, Onion Crate) and unpacked again. Those crate recipes are the mod's own. The pack changed the crate recipes for Beetroot Crate, Carrot Crate and Potato Crate, so don't assume they match the mod's defaults.[7]

Canvas, storage and decoration
The decorative branch of the mod centres on Canvas. Straw belongs to this chain, and the canvas recipe block below shows how they connect. From canvas you get the farmersdelight:basket, Canvas Rug, Canvas Sign and Hanging Canvas Sign. Both kinds of sign come in colour variants, shown in the recipe blocks below.[7]

How does Farmer's Delight work with other mods?
4 parts
Farmer's Delight doesn't live on its own in this pack. Several of its items and recipes are wired into other mods, and the pack changed every one of the recipes below. Here's what connects to what.[7]
Wood stripping with Deeper and Darker and Silent Gear
Farmer's Delight's cutting recipe type works on logs from other mods and gives you Tree Bark along with the stripped log. From Deeper and Darker, cutting Echo Log gives you Stripped Echo Log, and cutting Echo Wood gives you Stripped Echo Wood.[7]

Silent Gear works the same way. Cutting Netherwood gives you Stripped Netherwood Log plus Tree Bark.[7]

Immersive Engineering
Immersive Engineering's squeezer has recipes tied to Cabbage Seeds and Tomato Seeds, and both involve Plant Oil. The recipe dump doesn't show the output side of these recipes, so the blocks below are the reference for what the pack uses.[7]

Supplementaries
Supplementaries has crafting recipes that use Farmer's Delight items. The Planter has a variant that uses Rich Soil.[7]
The Sack is crafted using Canvas.[7]
Unverified The sources here show no quests in this pack that involve Farmer's Delight, so any quest connections with other mods are unverified. Check the pack's quest book chapters if you want to be sure.
Which All the Mons quests use Farmer's Delight?
2 parts
Farmer's Delight has one quest in this pack, and it sits in the "Building Tips" chapter, not in a farming or cooking chapter. That chapter is a builder's guide with 61 quests. It covers blocks, tools, decoration and lighting, so the mod is presented here as a decoration mod.[3]
The Farmer's Delight quest
The quest is "Farmer's Delight" quest. It is an item task, and the quest book entry does not say which specific item it wants. Its text describes the mod as all about farming and cooking food items, which you can also use for decoration. It points out the Stove, Pots and Pans for a kitchen, the Food Barrels for a pantry, the farm items for outdoor decor, and the Cabinets as fitting anywhere.[3]
The order to follow
- Start with "Building Tips!" quest, the opening quest of the chapter. It is an item task, and its text says it offers tips for building.[3]
- Next comes "Decoration!" quest. It introduces the idea that modded Minecraft has far more decoration options than just stairs.[3]
- Then "Decor Mods!" quest. Its text says these are mods the author found perfect for decorating your house or base.[3]
- Finally "Farmer's Delight" quest, which comes right after Decor Mods!.[3]
"Decor Mods!" quest also leads to two other decoration mod quests, "Cooking for Blockheads" quest and "Handcrafted" quest. They sit alongside the Farmer's Delight quest, and the quest book does not make you do them first.[3]
Which Farmer's Delight config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.17a guide
The Farmer's Delight project page says modpack makers are free to customize the mod as they see fit. That means a pack can change config values or recipes compared with the mod's defaults.[1]
Unverified No config files for Farmer's Delight were available for this pack, so I can't confirm any option names or values, or which ones the pack changed from the mod defaults. To avoid showing you a mod default as if it were the pack's setting, I'm leaving specific options out of this section.
What changed in Farmer's Delight between versions?
3 parts
All the Mons 1.0.0-rc.4 ships Farmer's Delight 1.2.11 (the 1.21.1 build), and the mod has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier. The mod's changelogs mark some entries with (1.21+), and since the pack uses the 1.21.1 build, those are the ones that apply to you. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs for 1.2.9 through 1.2.11. I have no pack changelog entries for this mod.[2][8][9][10]
1.2.11 (the version in this pack)
- Mushroom Colonies no longer float without support when the light level is under 13.[8]
- Statistics are now awarded properly when you use tools on the Cutting Board, use Knives to cut cakes and pies, and use containers to take servings from feasts.[8]
- Canvas Rug and Tatami Mats now have their own stepping sounds.[8]
- Fixed a potential load error where tomatoes were missing when joining a server.[8]
- Tag updates: the feasts tag is now added to the c:edible_when_placed tag, and Ropes are tagged as c:ropes.[8]
- Create integration: fixed outdated fluid syntax.[8]
1.2.10
- Villagers can now consume Farmer's Delight crops to become willing to breed.[9]
- Fixed non-contained meals, such as Dumplings, being deleted when they sat in the meal slot and you used the same meal on the pot to serve it.[9]
- Fixed the foodEffectTooltip config not affecting the tooltip of vanilla foods that have Farmer's Delight effect overrides.[9]
- Fixed the Cutting Board playing sounds at the zero corner instead of at its center.[9]
- New snacks and sweets tags, and all Farmer's Delight foods are now properly tagged inside c:foods.[9]
- All recipes now use c:drinks/milk. The older c:foods/milk tag still exists for backwards compatibility, but it will be removed in the next minor release.[9]
- Create integration: the Chocolate Pie spouting recipe now uses the correct fluid tag.[9]
1.2.9
- Rich Soil Farmland can now be hydrated by any fluid type capable of hydration.[10]
- Wild Cabbage and Sea Beet can now generate in any biome tagged with minecraft:is_beach.[10]
- Fixed the Cooking Pot allowing players to cook and store up to 99 servings.[10]
- Fixed Rabbit Stew not returning bowls after being eaten, caused by the Rabbit Stew buff.[10]
- Create integration: fixed milling recipes that used an invalid field and never finished processing.[10]
- As a temporary fix for a crash, the Cooking Pot can no longer be opened in spectator mode.[10]
- Fixed a potential datapack error with cooking recipes in KubeJS.[10]
