What is Eternal Starlight?
3 parts
Eternal Starlight adds a whole new dimension to explore: a magical, mysterious realm bathed in starlight. It's full of diverse biomes, rare ingredients, unique mobs and its own set of tools and weapons. If you want a big exploration and boss-hunting detour in the pack, this is it. The pack ships version 0.6.4 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.[1][2]
Getting in
Your journey starts in the Overworld. Look for the Starlight Portal Ruins and challenge the Gatekeeper. Beating him gives you some items, and you use them to enter the portal. The Orb of Prophecy is what activates the portal. You can craft it or get it from the Gatekeeper.[1][3][4]
Once you're in, the Seeking Eye helps you find the bosses. It works like an Ender Eye: right-click to throw it, then follow it to the structure. The Glimmering Tablet (Glimmering Tablet) gives you the clues for tracking each boss down.[1][4]
Where it fits in the ATM Star path
Eternal Starlight is part of the ATM Star path in the pack. The quest "Eternal Starlight" quest in The ATM Star chapter asks for the Glimmering Tablet. Its text points you to the Portal Ruins and the Gatekeeper fight. The mod also has its own quest chapter, and the quests in it unlock after that one.[3][4]
The next ATM Star quest is "Chain of Souls" quest, which unlocks after the first. The Chain of Souls works like a grappling hook: right-click to fire it and pull yourself toward the block you hit, then right-click again to release. Its range is about 90 blocks, give or take a few.[3]
What to look for
- Thermal Springstone Ingot: Thermal Springstone is found in Hot Ponds around the Starlight. They aren't a biome or structure, so you have to spot them yourself.[4]
- Aethersent Ingot: Aethersent Ore is found where larger meteors survive a rare Meteor Shower in the Starlight Dimension.[4]
- Raw Amaramber: Amaramber is found rarely by stripping Torreya Logs. It can be crafted into ingots for armor and tools.[4]
Unverified The sources I had don't show any pack-specific changes to this mod's recipes or configs, so treat the details here as unconfirmed against the mod's defaults. No in-jar guidebook was available either.
How do you get started with Eternal Starlight?
5 parts
Welcome to the Starlight dimension! Your first goal is simple: get through the portal, then build a solid toolkit on the other side. Here's the order I'd go in.[1]
Step 1: Get to the Starlight
Look for the Starlight Portal Ruins in the Overworld and face The Gatekeeper to unlock the gateway to the stars. The portal is activated with the Orb of Prophecy. The quest says you can craft it or get it by beating the Gatekeeper, and that it has other uses besides opening the portal.[1][4]
Step 2: Grab Saltpeter
Before you need it for metalwork, pick up Saltpeter Powder. Saltpeter can be found anywhere underground and is very common in the Warm Shore biome. You need a Stone Pickaxe to mine it, it drops a couple of powder, and Fortune works on it. The quest is a quest in "Eternal Starlight".[4]
Step 3: Make Deepsilver
The quest for Deepsilver Ingot (a quest in "Eternal Starlight") says it can rarely be found in the Nightfall Mud and used to craft armor and tools. In this pack the alloy recipes are changed: saltpeter dust plus either deepsilver ore or raw deepsilver gives you a Deepsilver Ingot and some Dimslag.[4][5]
Alloy (eternal_starlight)
- any saltpeter dust
- any deepsilver ore
Recipe id: eternal_starlight:deepsilver_from_ores
Changed by the pack. It also produces Dimslag.
Alloy (eternal_starlight)
- any saltpeter dust
- 2× any deepsilver raw material
Recipe id: eternal_starlight:deepsilver_from_raw_materials
Changed by the pack. This is the version for raw deepsilver.
The plain smelting and blasting recipes for deepsilver ores and raw deepsilver are also in the pack, so a furnace works too.[5]

Smelting raw deepsilver in a furnace.
Step 4: Craft your tools
With a few ingots, make a Deepsilver Pickaxe and a Deepsilver Sword. Armor comes next, and the pack has recipes for a deepsilver helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots.[5]

If you come across Glacite Shard first, the pack also has Glacite recipes for the pickaxe, axe, hoe and scythe, the four armor pieces and a shield. Shards can be smelted or blasted from Glacite.[5]

Step 5: Hunt the bosses
Once you're geared up, use a Seeking Eye. Bosses live in rare structures, so you right click to throw the eye like an Ender Eye and follow it. To choose which structure it points to, hold a certain item in your offhand. The mod's project page also says to follow the clues on the Glimmering Tablet once you've located a boss.[1][4]
- Golem Forge (underground): hold Redstone, Golem Steel Ingot or Oxidized Golem Steel Ingot. See "Golem Items" quest.[4]
- Cursed Garden: hold Vines, Lunar Berries, Cave Moss, or the Red or Blue Crystal Moss Carpets and Crystal Roots. See "Monstrosity Items" quest.[4]
The quest "Finding the Bosses" quest covers all of this, and it sits right after the main Eternal Starlight quest in the chapter.[4]
How does Eternal Starlight work?
4 parts
Eternal Starlight is described as a dimension mod, and the sources for this pack only touch its machines and systems in a few places. This section sticks to what they confirm.[1]
Crystalborn Catalyst
The one machine the sources describe is the Crystalborn Catalyst. Its advancement calls it a crystal-fueled and redstone-powered machine. The sources don't say what it produces, what its recipes are, or how items go in and out of it, so there is nothing confirmed here about automating it.[6]
Accumulator
The recipe for the Accumulator was changed by the pack, so don't trust the mod's default recipe from other guides. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[5]
Crafting Shaped
| any redstone dust | any redstone dust | |
| any redstone dust | any redstone dust |
Recipe id: eternal_starlight:accumulator
This recipe is changed by the pack compared with the mod's own version.
The sources don't explain what the Accumulator does once it is placed, so check it in-game before you build around it.[5]
Alloy furnace
The mod adds a JEI category called Alloy Furnace Cooling. That is a good place to start looking in JEI, but the sources don't give the furnace's structure, inputs or fuel.[6]
Fluids and the Starfire Birds
The mod has an Ether fluid, and there is an advancement for standing in it. The sources say nothing about how it is moved, stored or used in machines.[6]
You get Starfire by helping Starfire Birds breed, and a separate advancement tells you to put seeds into their nests to do that. The sources don't describe breeding in more detail.[6]
If you want to house the birds, the Acacia Starfire Bird Aviary is a craftable block. The sources don't say whether it affects breeding.[5]

This is the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.
How do you progress through Eternal Starlight?
4 parts
Eternal Starlight in this pack isn't one strict ladder. The quests branch out from the main "Eternal Starlight" quest quest and from the biome quests, so you pick up materials as you explore. Below is the order that makes the most sense, based on what the quests and the in-pack recipes say.[3][4]
Getting in
- Find an Eternal Starlight Portal Ruin in the Overworld and challenge the Gatekeeper. The first quest asks for the Glimmering Tablet.[3]
- Get an Orb of Prophecy. You can craft it or get it by beating the Gatekeeper. Its main use is activating the Portal.[4]

Material tiers
Each material below has its own quest branch for armor and tools. The quests don't rank the materials against each other, so check each recipe and its stats yourself.[4]
- Glacite: found deep underground in the Permafrost Forests. Its armor and tools help against Freezing damage. You smelt or blast Glacite into Glacite Shard, and the shards are what the tools and armor use.[4][5]
- Amaramber: found rarely by stripping Torreya Logs. You craft it into ingots for armor and tools, such as the Amaramber Chestplate and Amaramber Axe.[4][5]
- Deepsilver: the quests call it Swamp Silver. It is found rarely in Nightfall Mud and makes armor and tools. Every Deepsilver ore variant has a normal smelting and blasting recipe. The pack changed the two alloy recipes, which take saltpeter dust plus either ores or raw materials and give a Deepsilver Ingot plus Dimslag.[4][5]
- Saltpeter: found anywhere underground and very common in the Warm Shore biome. You need a Stone Pickaxe, and Fortune works on it. The powder can replace other niters. The pack also changed the blasting recipe that gives Saltpeter Powder from saltpeter ore.[4][5]
- Thermal Springstone: found in Hot Ponds around the Starlight. They are not a biome or structure, so you have to spot them. The quest branch covers a full set of tools, a hammer and armor, starting from Thermal Springstone Ingot.[4]
- Aethersent: from very rare Meteor Showers. Most meteors are tiny and vanish before landing, but the bigger ones survive and carry Aethersent Ore. Gear includes the Rage of Stars and the Starfall Longbow. The armor is a hood, cape, bottoms and boots.[4][5]
Unverified The sources don't give the Thermal Springstone recipes, any durability or damage numbers, or a confirmed power ranking between materials. Check the recipe viewer in-game for those. This site does hold All the Mons's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Golem Steel
Golem Steel is made in an alloy recipe that the pack changed. It uses a Starcore, saltpeter dust, a Deepsilver Ingot and a Golem Steel nugget, and it also gives Dimslag. Oxidized Golem Steel ingots can be smelted or blasted back into normal ingots.[5]
Alloy (eternal_starlight)
Starcore
- any saltpeter dust
- 3× any deepsilver ingot
- 2× any golem steel nugget
Recipe id: eternal_starlight:golem_steel
The quests send you to Golem Steel gear after the Starlight Golem. The Mechanical Crossbow is a much stronger crossbow that can still be enchanted. The Crystal Crossbow is crafted like it, and it applies Crystal Infection for 1 damage per second.[4][5]

Bosses and endgame gear
Boss structures are rare, so use the Seeking Eye. It works like an Ender Eye: throw it and follow it. A certain item in your offhand sets which structure it points to. See "Finding the Bosses" quest.[4]
- Cursed Garden: hold vines, Lunar Berries, Cave Moss, or Red or Blue Crystal Moss Carpets or Roots in your offhand. See "Monstrosity Items" quest.[4]
- Golem Forge: it is underground. Hold Redstone, Golem Steel or Oxidized Golem Steel in your offhand, and Redstone is the most likely one you'll have. See "Golem Items" quest.[4]
To kill the Lunar Monstrosity you have to set it on fire, with Flint and Steel or a Saltpeter Matchbox. See "Burn it!" quest. The Crescent Spear needs a Lunar Monstrosity kill either way. You can craft it or get it as a drop, and a held right click launches you forward with it.[4][5]

How does Eternal Starlight work with other mods?
3 parts
Eternal Starlight is mostly its own dimension, but this pack ties it into the rest of your modded world in a few clear ways. The recipes below were all added by the pack.[5]
Starlight Prediction conversions
The biggest link is a family of pack-added shapeless recipes built around Generalized Starlight Prediction. Combine one with a vanilla block or plant and you get its Starlight counterpart. That covers stone types like Grimstone and Voidstone, soils like Nightfall Dirt, and sands like Twilight Sand.[5]
It also covers the Starlight corals (Crystallum Coral, Golden Coral, Tentacles Coral) in coral, block and fan versions. Plants and foods work the same way, such as Lunar Berries, Glowing Mushroom and Abyssal Fruit. Ice-themed items like Glacite and Eternal Ice are in there too.[5]
The crystal blocks, clusters and shards (Blue Starlight Crystal Block, Red Starlight Crystal Shard and friends) add a dye to an amethyst item. Blue dye gives the blue crystals and red dye gives the red ones.[5]
Glacite is one of the Starlight Prediction conversions: it pairs the item with a blue ice block.
A few metal and gem items use shared tags instead of one specific item. Deepsilver Ingot takes any item tagged as a silver ingot, Oxidized Golem Steel Ingot takes any steel ingot, and Raw Aethersent takes any diamond gem.[5]

Any silver ingot works here, whichever mod it comes from.
Sawmills: Mekanism and Productive Trees
All the Starlight wood types (Banyin, Cradlewood, Jinglestem, Lunar, Northland, Scarlet and Torreya) have pack-added sawing recipes in two mods. Mekanism's sawing turns any log of that wood into its planks plus Sawdust.[5]
Sawing (mekanism)
- any lunar log
Recipe id: allthemods:mekanism/sawing/eternal_starlight/lunar_planks
Lunar is the example here. The other woods have matching recipes in the pack.
Productive Trees has its own version: a sawmill recipe that takes Sawdust together with a log of the same wood and gives you the planks.[5]
Sawmill (productivetrees)

Endgame crafting
Two Starlight items are ingredients in this pack's big multi-mod recipes. Chain of Souls goes into the shaped recipe for Dragon Soul, alongside items from Allthemodium, Apothic Enchanting, Cataclysm, Occultism, Productive Bees and Productive Trees.[5]

Which All the Mons quests use Eternal Starlight?
5 parts
Eternal Starlight shows up in a few quest chapters. The main one is its own "Eternal Starlight" chapter, which branches out from the ATM Star path. A "Basic Armor" chapter also has Starlight entries.[3][4][7]
The entry point: The ATM Star chapter
Everything starts with "Eternal Starlight" quest, which asks for a Glimmering Tablet. The quest text sends you to the Eternal Starlight Portal Ruins in the Overworld, where you can challenge the Gatekeeper. If you win, you get items you can use to enter the portal.[3]
Right after it comes "Chain of Souls" quest, which asks for the Chain of Souls. It works like a grappling hook with a range of about 90 blocks. The quest text says it needs drops from a Tangled Hatred, and that the Tenacious Petal needs a Lunar Monstrosity kill.[3]
The Eternal Starlight chapter
The chapter opens with a quest in "Eternal Starlight", which asks for the Orb of Prophecy. It follows a quest called "The Gatekeeper and The Gate". You can craft the Orb or get it by beating the Gatekeeper, and its main use is activating the portal.[4]
Once you're inside, these quests all follow the Eternal Starlight quest and can be done in any order:[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" asks for a Starcore. The text covers Atalphaite Ore, which is found underground and can make different types of lights.[4]
- "Finding the Bosses" quest asks for a Seeking Eye. It works like an Ender Eye to lead you to boss structures.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" asks for a Thermal Springstone Ingot, found in Hot Ponds.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" asks for Stellagmite, an underground stone.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" asks for an Aethersent Ingot, which comes from the rare big meteors in a Meteor Shower.[4]
Boss hunting
After the Seeking Eye quest, two quests tell you what to hold in your offhand to find each structure. "Monstrosity Items" quest covers the Cursed Garden, with items like vines, crystal moss carpets, Lunar Berries and Cave Moss. "Golem Items" quest covers the underground Golem Forge, and Redstone is the most likely item to use.[4]
"Burn it!" quest follows the Cursed Garden. To kill the Lunar Monstrosity you need to set it on fire, using Flint and Steel or a Saltpeter Matchbox.[4]
The boss-drop weapon quests are grouped by the boss they follow:[4]
- Starlight Golem: a quest in "Eternal Starlight" for the Energy Sword, a quest in "Eternal Starlight" for the Mechanical Crossbow and a quest in "Eternal Starlight" for the Crystal Crossbow.[4]
- Lunar Monstrosity: a quest in "Eternal Starlight" for the Crescent Spear, a quest in "Eternal Starlight" for the Wand of Teleportation, a quest in "Eternal Starlight" for the Moonring Bow and a quest in "Eternal Starlight" for the Chain of Souls.[4]
- Both bosses: a quest in "Eternal Starlight" for the Moonring Greatsword, which needs drops from both. The quest text calls it the hardest to get and the most powerful.[4]
Biome and gear branches
Most of the remaining quests hang off a biome or a material. For example, Scarlet Forest has a quest in "Eternal Starlight" and a quest in "Eternal Starlight", and Torreya Forest has a quest in "Eternal Starlight", a quest in "Eternal Starlight" and a quest in "Eternal Starlight". Other biomes covered are Warm Shore, Ether River, Starlit Sea, Shimmer River, Dark Swamp, Permafrost Forest, Crystallized Desert and The Abyss.[4]
Several material quests unlock a follow-up set of gear quests:[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" (Swamp Silver, the Deepsilver Ingot) unlocks deepsilver tools and a full armor set.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" (the Glacite Shard) unlocks glacite tools, armor and a Glacite Shield.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" unlocks thermal springstone tools and armor, including a hammer and a scythe.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" (the Raw Amaramber) unlocks amaramber gear.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" unlocks the Aethersent armor pieces, the Rage of Stars and the Starfall Longbow.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" (saltpeter powder) leads to a quest in "Eternal Starlight", the matchbox, which the text says works like Flint and Steel.[4]
- a quest in "Eternal Starlight" (Thioquartz) leads to a quest in "Eternal Starlight" and a quest in "Eternal Starlight", the alchemist mask and robe.[4]
Basic Armor chapter
The "Basic Armor" chapter has Starlight material quests such as "Golem Steel" quest, "Swamp Silver" quest, "Glacite" quest and "Thermal Springstone" quest. It also has full-set armor quests: "Aethersent Armor" quest, "Swamp Silver Armor" quest, "Glacite Armor" quest and "Thermal Springstone Armor" quest. Two armor trim templates are covered too. "Keeper Armor Trim" quest is traded with the Gatekeeper, and "Forge Armor Trim" quest drops from the Starlight Golem.[7]
Unverified The Basic Armor and Basic Tools chapters were cut off in the sources, so I can't confirm the full Starlight quest list or the exact order in those two chapters.
What changed in Eternal Starlight between versions?
3 parts
All the Mons 1.0.0-rc.4 ships Eternal Starlight 0.6.4 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge, and the mod has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs for the last three releases, newest first.[2]
0.6.4 (the version in this pack)
- New Alloy Furnace with JEI support, dropped by the Starlight Golem for now.[8]
- New Seeker, a squid-like flying hostile mob, and the Tentacle Spike, a whip weapon it drops.[8]
- More Toxite building blocks, plus a new music disc that any other music disc turns into when thrown into Ether fluid.[8]
- Deepsilver tools now have the same mining level as iron tools, and Starlit Diamond ores and blocks need iron tools to mine.[8]
- A new config lets players always hurt Gatekeepers during the fight, and the cooldown for summoning meteors is longer.[8]
- Fixes include the Wand of Teleportation not working, the Accumulator acting as a redstone conductor, and the Energy Transmitter disconnecting when loaded from a Structure Block.[8]
- A registry remapper (NeoForge only) fixes outdated ids in old save files.[8]
0.6.3
- Redstone additions: the Energy Transmitter for wireless signal transfer, and the Accumulator, which spreads a signal from one face to all other faces.[9]
- New Dimslag block found underground, and new Suspicious Dusted Gravel.[9]
- A new Data Fixer renames outdated ids in old save files. The changelog says this makes loading saves from 0.6.2 or older safe, but it still tells you to back up first.[9]
- The Gatekeeper gained a teleport ability as an anti-cheese measure, and the Dagger of Hunger became a dual-wielding weapon.[9]
- Ether and Lava now produce Molten Stellagmite instead of a Thioquartz block on contact, and ice lanterns stop ice blocks nearby from melting.[9]
- Renames: Trapped Soul became Soul Dew, and Starlight Mangrove became Banyin, with a reworked tree shape.[9]
0.6.2
- New Crinoa crop, some new food, Starfire Bird Egg, and more building blocks.[10]
- A new painting you can buy from Gatekeepers, and a Packed Nightfall Mud layer under the Nightfall Mud in the Dark Swamp biome, with new Malarite and Deepsilver ore variants.[10]
- The Starlight Golem now enters phase 2 when its health is under 20%, and the Lunar Monstrosity flees from lava.[10]
- Renames: Swamp Silver became Deepsilver, and Atalphaite became Starcore.[10]
- Fixes include boss music not stopping after death and the Crescent Pendant being unable to repair the Crescent Spear.[10]
