How do you get started with Compact Mekanism Machines?
4 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
Welcome to Compact Mekanism Machines! In this pack the mod gives you compressed versions of Mekanism Generators machines, and the best place to start is the Wind Generator line. It is a long upgrade chain where every tier is built from the one before it.[1][2]
Every recipe for this mod's items is a shaped table recipe from Extended Crafting, so you'll need that crafting table before you begin. The pack has changed the wind generator and turbine recipes, so ignore what you remember from the mod's defaults and follow the recipes shown here.[1]
Start with the Wind Generator line
Your first craft is Wind Generator x2. It is made from a regular Wind Generator, so you can make it as soon as you have the Mekanism Generators basics.[1]

After that, each tier uses the previous one as an ingredient. Work through them in this order:[1]
- Make Wind Generator x8 from the x2.[1]
- Make Wind Generator x32 from the x8.[1]
- Make Wind Generator x128. This one needs two of the x32.[1]
- Make Wind Generator x512. This one needs two of the x128.[1]
- Continue through Wind Generator x2048, Wind Generator x8192, Wind Generator x32768 and Wind Generator x131072, each built from the tier below it.[1]

The top of the chain
The final step, Wind Generator x532480, is added by the pack and is a shapeless recipe: two of the x131072 plus one Infinity 10 item. Its in-game description says its power generation is 530,000.[1][2]

Big machines for later
The mod also adds the Compact Industrial Turbine and the Compact Fission Reactor. Both have long ingredient lists with many late-game alloys and parts, so treat them as goals for later rather than first crafts. The turbine recipe is changed by the pack. The fission reactor has two recipes added by the pack.[1]

Config
The mod's common config only has a few options: items, logDirtBlock, magicNumber and magicNumberIntroduction. They are described as logging and message settings, so you don't need to touch them to get started.[3]
Unverified The mod also has a Compact Thermal Evaporation Plant, but no recipe for it appears in the pack's recipe data I was given, so how to obtain it is unverified.
