What is Silent Gear Metalworks?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.47 guide
Silent Gear Metalworks is in this pack as version 1.21.1-1.2.1. It's installed from the start, so you don't need to add anything to try it out.[1]
Unverified No mod description, guidebook or other documentation was available when this guide was written. That means we can't yet confirm what Silent Gear Metalworks adds, who it's aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. Treat any claims you see elsewhere about its features as unconfirmed for this pack.
How do you get started with Silent Gear Metalworks?
4 parts
The mod's own tooltip says that all metal and gem tool parts need to be cast in a foundry from Productive Metalworks. So your first goal is to get casts made and molten metal flowing, and only then move on to the bigger alloys.[2]
First, make your casts
Start with the casts. In this pack each one is made by casting a Silent Gear part with molten steel. The pack changed these recipes, so don't rely on the mod defaults. For example, the Axe Cast comes from an axe head. The same pattern gives you the Bow Cast, Dagger Cast, Excavator Cast, Chestplate Cast and the rest, each using the matching Silent Gear part.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Axe Head
- 360× any molten steel
Recipe id: sgearmetalworks:casting/axe_cast
Every cast follows this pattern with its own Silent Gear part.
Next, melt your base metals
Next, get molten metal. This pack has melting recipes for Molten Azure Silver and Molten Crimson Iron. Both can be melted from ores, raw materials, ingots, nuggets, dusts and storage blocks. The pack changed these recipes, so don't assume the mod defaults.[3]
Item Melting (productivemetalworks)
- any azure silver ingot
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:melting/ingots/azure_silver
Melting an azure silver ingot gives molten azure silver.
Item Melting (productivemetalworks)
- any crimson iron ingot
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:melting/ingots/crimson_iron
Melting a crimson iron ingot gives molten crimson iron.
Then climb the alloy chain
The mod's alloys are made by fluid alloying, and the pack changed all of these recipes. Molten Azure Electrum uses molten azure silver, and Molten Crimson Steel uses molten crimson iron. Molten Blaze Gold is a separate, simpler alloy. Molten Tyrian Steel then needs both azure electrum and crimson steel. The last step, Molten Uru Metal, needs tyrian steel and azure electrum, so work through them in that order.[3]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 360× any molten azure silver
- 100× any molten ender
- 180× any molten gold
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_azure_electrum
Azure electrum is an early alloy and feeds the later ones.

- 90× any molten tyrian steel
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_uru_metal
The end of the chain.
Finally, cast Uru metal
Once you have molten Uru metal, you can cast it into an Uru Metal Ingot, an Uru Metal Nugget or an Uru Metal Block. The pack changed these casting recipes. The ingot and nugget each need their matching cast from Productive Metalworks, while the block is cast without one.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Ingot Cast
- 90× any molten uru metal
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:casting/ingots/sgearmetalworks/uru_metal
Casting molten Uru metal into an ingot.
You can also convert between nuggets, ingots and blocks in a crafting grid, and melt them back down. The Uru metal melting recipes are unchanged mod recipes.[3]

How does Silent Gear Metalworks work?
5 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Silent Gear Metalworks doesn't bring machines of its own, at least none that show up in the sources. It plugs Silent Gear into the foundry from Productive Metalworks, and everything below runs through that foundry's recipe types: melting, casting and alloying.[2][4]
Molten fluids
The mod adds a molten fluid, with a bucket for it, for a long list of metals and gems. These include Molten Uru Metal, Molten Crimson Steel, Molten Tyrian Steel, Molten Ruby, Molten Sapphire and Molten White Diamond. Fluid is what you move around and cast from, so this is where your item and fluid handling starts.[2]
Many recipes accept "any" fluid from a shared tag, for example any molten Uru metal or any molten steel, rather than one specific fluid.[4]
Melting
Melting turns items into fluid. In this pack, the azure electrum, azure silver and blaze gold dusts each melt into 90 units of their molten metal. The pack changed these recipes.[4]
There are also melting recipes named after the Productive Bees Uru metal comb and comb block. They give 10 and 40 units of Molten Uru Metal. The pack changed these too.[4]
Counted across the pack, 34 melting recipes of this kind produce items from this mod, with 7 different results.[4]
Alloying
Alloying combines several fluids into one. The pack changed all three alloys this mod adds: Molten Azure Electrum, Molten Blaze Gold and Molten Crimson Steel. These are the pack's exact recipes:[4]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 360× any molten azure silver
- 100× any molten ender
- 180× any molten gold
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_azure_electrum
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 200× any molten blaze
- 90× any molten gold

Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 200× any molten blaze
- 810× any molten crimson iron
- 100× any molten magma cream
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_crimson_steel
Casting Uru metal
Casting turns fluid back into items. For Uru metal, the amounts are 90 units for an Uru Metal Ingot and 10 for an Uru Metal Nugget. A full Uru Metal Block takes 810 units. The pack changed all three recipes. The ingot and nugget recipes use an ingot cast and a nugget cast from Productive Metalworks, and the block is a block casting recipe.[4]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Ingot Cast
- 90× any molten uru metal

Block Casting (productivemetalworks)
- 810× any molten uru metal
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:casting/storage_blocks/sgearmetalworks/uru_metal
If you'd rather skip the foundry for storage, ingots and blocks also convert by hand in a shapeless crafting recipe, in both directions.[4]

Casts
The mod adds a cast item for each Silent Gear part type, such as Arrow Cast, Axe Cast and Boots Cast. There are also casts for bows, swords, rings, shields and many more tools and accessories.[2]
In this pack, those three casts are made by casting a Silent Gear part, using 360 units of any molten steel. The pack changed all three recipes.[4]

In total, 34 item casting recipes take Silent Gear items and fluids and make items from this mod. A further 33 casting recipes make both this mod's items and Silent Gear items.[4]
How do you progress through Silent Gear Metalworks?
5 parts
The metals from this mod form a chain. You begin with basic molten metals, combine them into alloys, and finish with Uru Metal. Every step works with fluids, so you melt, alloy and cast.[3]
Base molten metals
Molten Azure Silver and Molten Crimson Iron are your entry points. In this pack you can melt each of them from its ore, raw material, raw block, ingot, nugget, dust or storage block. Those melting recipes are all marked as changed by the pack, so the pack's values apply, not the mod defaults.[3]
First alloys
Next come the alloys built from those base metals, and their alloying recipes are all changed by the pack. Molten Blaze Gold combines molten blaze with molten gold. Molten Azure Electrum takes molten azure silver, molten ender and molten gold. Molten Crimson Steel takes molten blaze, molten crimson iron and molten magma cream.[3]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 200× any molten blaze
- 90× any molten gold

Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 200× any molten blaze
- 810× any molten crimson iron
- 100× any molten magma cream
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_crimson_steel
Tyrian Steel
Molten Tyrian Steel is the first recipe that needs both the Azure Electrum line and the Crimson Steel line. On top of those it takes molten ancient debris and molten shulker shell. Finish both alloy lines before you start here. The recipe is changed by the pack.[3]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 100× any molten ancient debri
- 90× any molten azure electrum
- 90× any molten crimson steel
- 100× any molten shulker shell
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_tyrian_steel
Uru Metal
Molten Uru Metal sits at the end of the chain. Its alloying recipe uses molten tyrian steel, molten azure electrum, molten ancient debris, molten shulker shell and molten heavy core. It also takes a meat input, which none of the earlier alloys here do. The recipe is changed by the pack.[3]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 180× any meat
- 100× any molten ancient debri
- 90× any molten azure electrum
- 180× any molten heavy core
- 100× any molten shulker shell
- 90× any molten tyrian steel
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_uru_metal
You cast the molten metal into an Uru Metal Ingot, an Uru Metal Nugget or an Uru Metal Block. The casting recipes are changed by the pack. Melting Uru Metal items back into fluid uses the mod's own recipes, unchanged by the pack. You can also convert between ingot, nugget and block with plain crafting.[3]

Casts for Silent Gear parts
The mod also adds casts for Silent Gear parts, such as the Pickaxe Cast, Helmet Cast and Bow Cast. In this pack these cast recipes are changed and use molten steel together with the matching Silent Gear part, so you can start on them once you have a steel supply.[3]

The other casts shown in the pack follow the same pattern with their own Silent Gear part.
How does Silent Gear Metalworks work with other mods?
2 parts
Silent Gear Metalworks links Silent Gear with Productive Metalworks. The in-pack recipes that use items from both mods cover casts for Silent Gear gear parts and an Uru Metal line of items.[3]
Gear part casts
Silent Gear parts get matching casts from this mod. For example, the Sword Blade is used to make the Sword Cast. The same pattern shows up for the Pickaxe Cast, the Helmet Cast and the Ring Cast. These recipes use Productive Metalworks' item casting recipe type, and the pack has changed them from the mod's defaults.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Sword Blade
- 360× any molten steel
Recipe id: sgearmetalworks:casting/sword_cast
Making a cast from a Silent Gear part. The pack changed this recipe.
Recipes also go the other way, from a cast back to its Silent Gear part. They use the mod's own gear casting recipe type, and the pack changed these as well. For example, the Tool Rod Cast leads to the Tool Rod, and the Tip Cast leads to the Tip Upgrade.[3]
Sg Gear Casting (sgearmetalworks)
Recipe id: sgearmetalworks:casting/silentgear/sword_blade
Turning a cast back into the Silent Gear part. The pack changed this recipe.
Uru Metal
Productive Metalworks casting also turns molten Uru Metal into items. The Ingot Cast makes the Uru Metal Ingot, and the Nugget Cast makes the Uru Metal Nugget. The pack changed both of these recipes.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Ingot Cast
- 90× any molten uru metal
