What is Silent Gear Metalworks?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.47 guide
Silent Gear Metalworks is in this pack as version 1.21.1-1.2.1. It's installed from the start, so you don't need to add anything to try it out.[1]
Unverified No mod description, guidebook or other documentation was available when this guide was written. That means we can't yet confirm what Silent Gear Metalworks adds, who it's aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. Treat any claims you see elsewhere about its features as unconfirmed for this pack.
How do you get started with Silent Gear Metalworks?
4 parts
Silent Gear Metalworks connects Silent Gear to the foundry from Productive Metalworks. The mod's own tooltip gives the big rule: all metal and gem tool parts require casting in a foundry from Productive Metalworks. So your plan starts with casts and molten metal.[2]
Your steps, in order
- Get a foundry from Productive Metalworks running. Tool parts are cast there, so this is the machine the rest of the mod builds on.[2]
- Make the casts for the gear you want. Each cast has its own casting recipe, and you can see some of them in the Casts section below. Examples are the Axe Cast, the Hammer Cast and the Helmet Cast. The same pattern covers bows, crossbows, daggers, hoes, excavators, fishing rods, arrows, bracelets and the other armor pieces.[3]
- Melt down the mod's metals. Crimson iron and azure silver can be melted from ores, raw materials, ingots, nuggets, dusts and storage blocks.[3]
- Alloy your way up. Blaze gold, crimson steel and azure electrum each have their own alloying recipe, and tyrian steel and uru metal come after them in that chain.[3]
Casts
Casting is how you make the molds for tool and armor parts. Here are the in-pack recipes for the axe, hammer and helmet casts.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Hammer Head
- 360× any molten steel

- 201× any molten blaze
- 811× any molten crimson iron
- 101× any molten magma cream
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_crimson_steel
Save Molten Tyrian Steel and Molten Uru Metal for later. The uru metal alloy takes molten tyrian steel among its inputs, along with several other ingredients.[3]

How does Silent Gear Metalworks work?
5 parts
Silent Gear Metalworks does not bring its own machines. It adds the molten fluids, casts and Uru Metal items that Productive Metalworks handles, so almost everything you do with it happens in that mod's melting, casting and alloying recipes. The sources here show recipes and names only, so this section sticks to what those recipes say.[2][3]
Molten fluids
The mod registers a long list of molten fluids, each with its own bucket item. They include metals such as Uru Metal, Azure Silver, Crimson Iron and Tyrian Steel, and gems such as Ruby, Sapphire, Topaz and White Diamond. Because they come as buckets, you can carry them around as well as pipe them.[2]
Melting into Uru Metal
Uru Metal has the full set of melting recipes. An Uru Metal Ingot melts into 90 Molten Uru Metal, an Uru Metal Nugget melts into 10, and an Uru Metal Block melts into 800.[3]
Item Melting (productivemetalworks)
- any uru metal ingot
Recipe id: minecraft:melting/uru_metal_ingot
One ingot gives 90 molten Uru Metal.
Item Melting (productivemetalworks)
- any uru metal nugget
Recipe id: minecraft:melting/uru_metal_nugget
One nugget gives 10.
Item Melting (productivemetalworks)
- any uru metal storage block
Recipe id: minecraft:melting/uru_metal_block
One block gives 800.
There is also a melting recipe for the Uru Metal comb from Productive Bees, which gives 10 molten Uru Metal. The recipe dump lists no item input for it. The Uru Metal Bee itself is obtained through the crafting recipe of its spawn egg.[2][3]
Casting Uru Metal
Casting turns the molten fluid back into items. Ingots and nuggets need a cast item from Productive Metalworks, an Ingot Cast or a Nugget Cast, plus the molten metal. Blocks need no cast at all.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Ingot Cast
- 90× any molten uru metal
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:casting/ingots/sgearmetalworks/uru_metal
90 molten Uru Metal and an Ingot Cast make one ingot.
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Nugget Cast
- 10× any molten uru metal
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:casting/nuggets/sgearmetalworks/uru_metal
10 molten Uru Metal and a Nugget Cast make one nugget.
Block Casting (productivemetalworks)
- 810× any molten uru metal
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:casting/storage_blocks/sgearmetalworks/uru_metal
A block takes 810 molten Uru Metal.
If you would rather skip the foundry, the plain crafting recipes still work. Nine ingots make a block, a block makes nine ingots, and nine nuggets make an ingot.[3]

Casts for tool parts
The mod adds a cast item for nearly every Silent Gear part type, from the Arrow Cast, Axe Cast and Boots Cast to bows, rings, shields and more. Each cast is made with Productive Metalworks item casting. You put the matching Silent Gear part in and add 360 of any molten steel.[2][3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Arrow Heads
- 360× any molten steel
Recipe id: sgearmetalworks:casting/arrow_cast
Arrow Heads plus 360 molten steel make an Arrow Cast.

The Axe Cast follows the same pattern with an Axe Head.
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Boot Plates
- 360× any molten steel
Recipe id: sgearmetalworks:casting/boots_cast
The Boots Cast uses Boot Plates.
The cast recipes shown here are only a sample. The pack has 34 casting recipes that produce items from this mod, plus 33 more that produce items from both this mod and Silent Gear. The pack also has 33 melting recipes for this mod's fluids, with 7 different results.[3]
Uru Metal parts have their own casting recipes. Each takes a Tyrian Steel Ingot and molten Uru Metal, and gives an Uru Metal Ingot and the Silent Gear part. The molten amounts are 90 for arrow heads, 270 for an axe head and 360 for boot plates.[3]

How do you progress through Silent Gear Metalworks?
5 parts
The sources I have for Silent Gear Metalworks are its in-pack recipes, so this page follows the metal chain those recipes build. The stage names below are my own grouping, not official tier names from the mod.[3]
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest that involves this mod, and no in-jar guidebook was found for it. Treat the order below as a reading of the recipes, not an official ladder.
Base metals
You start by melting Molten Azure Silver and Molten Crimson Iron. Both can be melted from ores, raw materials, raw storage blocks, ingots, nuggets, dusts and storage blocks. Here are the ore recipes for each:[3]
Item Melting (productivemetalworks)
- 2× any azure silver ore
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:melting/ores/azure_silver
Item Melting (productivemetalworks)
- 2× any crimson iron ore

- 811× any molten crimson iron
- 101× any molten magma cream
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_crimson_steel
Tyrian Steel
Molten Tyrian Steel sits above the earlier alloys. Its recipe uses both Azure Electrum and Crimson Steel, so you need both branches running before you can make it.[3]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 101× any molten ancient debri
- 91× any molten azure electrum
- 91× any molten crimson steel
- 101× any molten shulker shell
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:alloying/molten_tyrian_steel
Uru Metal
Molten Uru Metal is the top of the alloy chain. Its recipe takes Molten Tyrian Steel as an input, along with Molten Azure Electrum and several other ingredients, so you have to get through the Tyrian Steel stage first.[3]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
- 181× any meat
- 101× any molten ancient debri
- 91× any molten azure electrum
- 181× any molten heavy core

How does Silent Gear Metalworks work with other mods?
3 parts
Silent Gear Metalworks connects Silent Gear with Productive Metalworks in this pack. Every recipe that links them uses Silent Gear parts, and runs either through Productive Metalworks' item casting or through the mod's own gear casting recipe type.[3]
Turning Silent Gear parts into casts
To make a cast, you run a finished Silent Gear part through Productive Metalworks' item casting together with any molten steel. For example, a Sword Blade plus molten steel gives you a Sword Cast. The same pattern covers Pickaxe Cast, Bow Cast, Helmet Cast, Ring Cast and the rest of the cast family, each made from its matching Silent Gear part.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Sword Blade
- 360× any molten steel
Recipe id: sgearmetalworks:casting/sword_cast
Sword Cast, made from a Silent Gear part and molten steel.
A few Silent Gear parts are worth knowing by name: Tool Rod becomes the Tool Rod Cast, Tip Upgrade becomes the Tip Cast, and Trident Prongs becomes the Trident Cast.[3]
Casting Silent Gear parts back out
The mod adds its own recipe type for the reverse direction. A cast produces the matching Silent Gear part, such as a Sword Cast producing a Sword Blade.[3]
Sg Gear Casting (sgearmetalworks)
Recipe id: sgearmetalworks:casting/silentgear/sword_blade
Sword Cast in, Sword Blade out, using the mod's gear casting recipe type.
Uru metal
Uru metal connects the mod to Productive Metalworks as well. The Ingot Cast with any molten uru metal gives you an Uru Metal Ingot, and the Nugget Cast with any molten uru metal gives you an Uru Metal Nugget.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Ingot Cast
- 90× any molten uru metal
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:casting/ingots/sgearmetalworks/uru_metal
Uru Metal Ingot from an Ingot Cast and molten uru metal.
There is a second family of uru recipes that also use item casting. Each takes a Tyrian Steel Ingot and any molten uru metal, and gives back both an Uru Metal Ingot and a Silent Gear part. The parts covered include Arrow Heads, Axe Head, Pickaxe Head, Katana Blade, Chestplate Plates and Mace Core, among others.[3]
Item Casting (productivemetalworks)
Tyrian Steel Ingot
- 270× any molten uru metal
Recipe id: sgearmetalworks:casting/uru/pickaxe_head
One of the uru casting recipes that returns a Silent Gear part along with an Uru Metal Ingot.
