What is Flux Networks?
1 part
This pack includes Flux Networks 8.0.0, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. In the pack's quest book, its items appear in the "logistics" chapter.[1][2]
Where it shows up in the quests
The mod's quests start with one that asks for Flux Dust and the Flux Configurator. That is "Flux Networks" quest, and every other Flux Networks quest in the chapter comes after it, so start there.[2]
These quests unlock once you finish it:[2]
- "Energy Transfer" quest asks for the Flux Plug and the Flux Point.[2]
- "Flux Controller" quest asks for the Flux Controller.[2]
- "Energy Storage" quest asks for the Basic Flux Storage, the Herculean Flux Storage and the Gargantuan Flux Storage.[2]
So the quest book groups the plug, point, controller and storage blocks as parallel follow-ups to the dust and configurator quest, rather than chaining them one after another.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not describe what each Flux Networks block does, since no in-jar guidebook was found for the mod. They also do not show the mod on the ATM Star quest path.
How do you get started with Flux Networks?
7 parts
Flux Networks moves energy wirelessly between your machines. In this pack, the logistics quest chapter walks you through the mod. Its first quest asks for Flux Dust and the Flux Configurator, and the other quests in the chapter come after that one, so start there.[2]
Step 1: Get Flux Dust
Flux Dust is the base material for the whole mod. The mod's own tooltip describes compressing Redstone Dust with Bedrock and Obsidian, but the pack adds its own recipe for it, so go by that one. It is a reaction recipe, shown below.[3][4]
This reaction recipe for Flux Dust is added by the pack.
The pack has also changed the Productive Bees centrifuge recipe for flux honeycomb. It gives Flux Dust and Wax.[3]
Centrifuge (productivebees)

This centrifuge recipe is changed by the pack.
Step 2: Make the Flux Configurator and Flux Core
The Flux Configurator finishes the first quest. The Flux Core is used in the recipes for the Flux Block, Flux Plug, Flux Point and Flux Controller, so make a few.[2][3]
Craft a Flux Block
The Flux Block is used in the recipes for the Flux Plug, Basic Flux Storage and Flux Controller.[3]
Plugs and Points
These two are how energy gets into and out of your network, and one quest asks for both. The Flux Plug receives energy passively from adjacent blocks and adds it to your network. The Flux Point does the opposite: it actively provides energy to adjacent blocks, taking it from your network.[2][3][4]

Step 5: Storage
Flux storage holds energy for your network. The storage quest asks for Basic Flux Storage, Herculean Flux Storage and Gargantuan Flux Storage. The recipes are below.[2][4]

Quest order
- "Flux Networks" quest: hand in Flux Dust and a Flux Configurator.[2]
- "Energy Transfer" quest: Flux Plug and Flux Point.[2]
- "Flux Controller" quest: Flux Controller.[2]
- "Energy Storage" quest: Basic, Herculean and Gargantuan Flux Storage.[2]
How does Flux Networks work?
6 parts
Flux Networks is built around networks: you create a network, then connect devices to it. Some devices put energy into the network and others take it back out. This section covers what each device does, how the storage tiers and limits work, who can use a network, and the settings this pack uses.[4]
The devices
- Flux Plug: receives energy passively from adjacent blocks and adds it to your Flux Network.[4]
- Flux Point: actively provides energy to adjacent blocks, removing it from your Flux Network.[4]
- Flux Storage blocks (Basic Flux Storage, Herculean Flux Storage and Gargantuan Flux Storage): store energy for your Flux Network.[4]
- Flux Controller: enables Wireless Charging on your Flux Network. The game refuses to add a second one, with the message that the network already has a Flux Controller.[4]
The network statistics screen counts your devices in four groups: Controllers, Plugs, Points and Storages.[4]
Storage tiers
Each storage tier holds more energy and has a higher default transfer limit than the one before. These are the values in this pack, and they match the mod defaults.[5]
- Basic: 2,000,000 capacity, 20,000 default transfer limit (energy.basicCapacity, energy.basicTransfer).[5]
- Herculean: 16,000,000 capacity, 120,000 default transfer limit (energy.herculeanCapacity, energy.herculeanTransfer).[5]
- Gargantuan: 128,000,000 capacity, 720,000 default transfer limit (energy.gargantuanCapacity, energy.gargantuanTransfer).[5]
You upgrade storage in tiers. A Basic Flux Storage plus glass panes makes a Herculean one, and a Herculean one plus glass panes makes a Gargantuan one.[3]

Transfer limits and device settings
Plugs, Points and Controllers all start with a default transfer limit of 800,000, set by energy.defaultLimit. This matches the mod default.[5]
The device screen has fields named Priority, Transfer Limit, Bypass Limit, Power Surge, Enable Wireless and Chunk Loading, plus an Internal Buffer readout.[4]
Networks and access
When you create a network you set a name, a color, an energy type and a security setting: Encrypted, Private or Public. There is also a password field. Each player can create up to 5 networks (networks.maximumPerPlayer), and the game stops you with a message once you reach that limit.[4][5]
Players on a network have an access level: Owner, Admin, User or Stranger. The members screen offers Set as Admin, Set as User and Transfer Ownership, and some operations require admin or owner access.[4]
Super Admin is a separate override. It is enabled in this pack (networks.enableSuperAdmin) and needs permission level 1 or higher (networks.superAdminRequiredPermission). Super admins can bypass the per-player network limit. If super admin were turned off, nobody could access a device or delete a network without permission.[5]
Wireless charging
Wireless charging is enabled by a Flux Controller on the network. The Wireless Charging tab lists these slot groups: armor, curios, hotbar, main hand and off hand. The main inventory is shown as disabled. The screen also tells you whether wireless charging is effective for the network you selected.[4]
In this pack the Controller has its own recipe, set up by the pack's script. It needs a nether star.[3][6]

This recipe is added by the pack.
The item blacklist for wireless charging (blacklist.itemBlackListStrings) has no entries in this pack, so no items are excluded from being charged.[5]
Pack settings worth knowing
- Chunk loading is allowed for flux devices (general.enableChunkLoading is true).[5]
- The mod's own Flux Dust method, compressing redstone with bedrock and obsidian, is switched off in the config (general.enableFluxRecipe is false). The pack's Lychee script instead adds a block crushing recipe with bedrock as the landing block, which turns redstone and obsidian dust into 2 Flux Dust.[5][7]
- Flux devices won't connect to the block listed in blacklist.blockBlacklistStrings, which in this pack is the Actually Additions phantom energyface.[5]
- GregTech CE Unofficial Modern integration is enabled in the config (integration.enableGTCEU), and applies if that mod is installed. The conversion is 4 FE to 1 GTEU and is provided by GTCEU itself, so its own settings need nativeEUToPlatformNative enabled and euToPlatformRatio = 4. A restart is needed after changing it.[8]
- With One Probe, you see the network name, live transfer rate and internal buffer. Transfer limit and priority show when you sneak (OneProbe.enableOneProbeBasicInfo, OneProbe.enableOneProbeAdvancedInfo, OneProbe.enableOneProbeSneaking).[8]
How do you progress through Flux Networks?
4 parts
Flux Networks progression in this pack is a short quest line in the logistics chapter. One opening quest gates all the others, and everything below follows that order using the recipes the pack actually ships.[2]
First quest: Flux Dust and the Flux Configurator
The opening quest, "Flux Networks" quest, asks you to obtain Flux Dust and the Flux Configurator. Every other quest in this line comes after it.[2]
The pack adds its own way to make Flux Dust: a reaction recipe that the pack added.[3]
Added by the pack.
The pack also changed the Productive Bees centrifuge recipe for the flux honeycomb. It gives Flux Dust and Wax.[3]
Centrifuge (productivebees)
Recipe id: productivebees:centrifuge/fluxnetworks/honeycomb_flux
Changed by the pack.
The Flux Configurator uses the mod's own recipe, as do the Flux Core and Flux Block that later items are built from.[3]
Flux Plug and Flux Point
After the opening quest, "Energy Transfer" quest wants a Flux Plug and a Flux Point. Both use the mod's own crafting recipes.[2][3]
Crafting Shaped

The Flux Controller
"Flux Controller" quest asks for a Flux Controller. The pack supplies its own recipe for it through KubeJS, so don't rely on guides that describe the mod's default recipe.[2][3]

Storage tiers
The last quest, "Energy Storage" quest, asks for Basic Flux Storage, Herculean Flux Storage and Gargantuan Flux Storage. Each tier is crafted from the one before it, so you work up in that order: Basic, then Herculean, then Gargantuan.[2][3]

How does Flux Networks work with other mods?
4 parts
Flux Networks connects to other mods in this pack mostly through one item: Flux Dust. Three pack recipes either make it or use it, and each one brings in different mods.[3]
Reaction recipe for Flux Dust
The pack adds a reaction recipe (recipe type advanced_ae:reaction) that makes Flux Dust from AE2 dusts and a Productive Metalworks fluid, so you can make it from another mod's materials.[3]
Added by the pack.
Flux Dust from the centrifuge
The pack changes the Productive Bees centrifuge recipe for the Flux honeycomb. It gives you Flux Dust and Wax.[3]
Centrifuge (productivebees)
Recipe id: productivebees:centrifuge/fluxnetworks/honeycomb_flux
This recipe is changed by the pack compared with the mod default.
Block crushing with Flux Dust
The pack also adds a Lychee block crushing recipe that uses Flux Dust together with Obsidian Dust and Redstone. It is a good example of Flux Dust being used as a material in other mods' systems.[3]
Block Crushing (lychee)
Recipe id: lychee:kjs/3hmzcq3l96db8cojsw6vdys9a
Added by the pack.
Quests
In the logistics quest chapter, the Flux Networks quests start with "Flux Networks" quest, which asks for Flux Dust and the Flux Configurator. Three quests unlock after it: "Energy Transfer" quest for the Flux Plug and Flux Point, "Flux Controller" quest for the Flux Controller, and "Energy Storage" quest for the Basic, Herculean and Gargantuan Flux Storage blocks. None of these tasks use items from other mods, so the cross-mod links come from the Flux Dust recipes above.[2]
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Flux Networks?
2 parts
Flux Networks appears in the "logistics" quest chapter in this pack. None of its quests have titles in the pack files, so they're listed here by quest ID.[2]
Where the chain starts
Everything begins with "Flux Networks" quest. Its tasks are Flux Dust and Flux Configurator. The other Flux Networks quests in this chapter come after it.[2]
The follow-up quests
Once the first quest is done, the rest open up. The quest data sets no order between them, so you can take them in whatever order suits your base.[2]
- "Energy Transfer" quest asks for a Flux Plug and a Flux Point.[2]
- "Flux Controller" quest asks for a Flux Controller.[2]
- "Energy Storage" quest asks for storage blocks: Basic Flux Storage, Herculean Flux Storage and Gargantuan Flux Storage.[2]
Which Flux Networks config options matter?
4 parts
Most Flux Networks options live in the server config, and the common config only holds a note saying so. Wherever the pack's config lists a mod default, the pack's value matches it. Here are the options you're most likely to care about.[5][8]
Energy storage and transfer
The pack's server config also lists the mod default next to each energy value, and every one of them matches it. Nothing here was changed by the pack.[5]
- energy.basicCapacity is 2,000,000 and energy.basicTransfer is 20,000 for a Basic Flux Storage.[5]
- energy.herculeanCapacity is 16,000,000 and energy.herculeanTransfer is 120,000 for a Herculean Flux Storage.[5]
- energy.gargantuanCapacity is 128,000,000 and energy.gargantuanTransfer is 720,000 for a Gargantuan Flux Storage.[5]
- energy.defaultLimit is 800,000. It is the default transfer limit of a Flux Plug, Point and Controller.[5]
Networks and super admin
- networks.maximumPerPlayer is 5, the mod default. Super admins can bypass the limit, -1 means no limit, and 0 means only super admins can create networks.[5]
- networks.enableSuperAdmin is true. If it were off, nobody could access a flux device or delete a network without permission.[5]
- networks.superAdminRequiredPermission is 1, the mod default. A player needs at least that permission level (see ops.json) to activate Super Admin, and single player can bypass this.[5]
Chunk loading, recipes and blacklists
general.enableChunkLoading is true, so flux devices are allowed to enable chunk loading. general.enableFluxRecipe is false, which means the flux dust crafting recipe that this option controls is switched off. The sources don't show whether that differs from the mod default.[5]
blacklist.blockBlacklistStrings contains one entry, actuallyadditions:block_phantom_energyface. Flux devices won't connect to that block. blacklist.itemBlackListStrings only holds an empty string, so no items are blacklisted from wireless charging.[5]
Integration and display
integration.enableGTCEU is true. It only applies if GregTech CE Unofficial Modern is installed, and the conversion is fixed at 4 FE = 1 GTEU. The EU-to-FE conversion itself comes from GTCEU, not Flux Networks. Changing this setting needs a game or server restart.[8]
The One Probe options are all true: OneProbe.enableOneProbeBasicInfo for network name, live transfer rate and internal buffer, OneProbe.enableOneProbeAdvancedInfo for transfer limit and priority, and OneProbe.enableOneProbeSneaking, which shows the advanced info only while you sneak.[8]
On the client side, gui.enableButtonSound is true, so navigation buttons make a sound, and gui.enableModernDesign is true, which gives the classic GUI the modern design when ModernUI is installed.[9]
