What is Flux Networks?
1 part
Flux Networks is part of the pack's mod list, and this pack ships version 8.0.0 of it, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. You'll meet it through the pack's "power" quest chapter, which is where the pack introduces its items.[1][2]
Where it shows up in the quests
The chapter starts with a quest "Flux Networks" quest, which asks you to obtain Flux Dust and the Flux Configurator. Treat this as your entry point to the mod.[2]
Two more quests unlock after that one, so you can take them in either order:[2]
- Quest "Transferring Power" quest asks for a Flux Plug, a Flux Point and one flux storage block. Any of Basic Flux Storage, Herculean Flux Storage or Gargantuan Flux Storage counts for that task.[2]
- Quest "Wireless Inventory Charging" quest asks for a Flux Controller.[2]
Since the storage task accepts the Basic, Herculean or Gargantuan tier, you don't need to start with the biggest one to complete it.[2]
Unverified The sources don't describe how Flux Networks works in this pack (what each block does, how networks are set up, transfer limits) or whether the pack changes any of its recipes or configs. Check the recipe and config sections of this guide, or test in-game, before relying on those details.
How do you get started with Flux Networks?
5 parts
Flux Networks moves energy wirelessly between your machines. You build a network out of a few small pieces, and the pack's "power" quest chapter walks you through them in a sensible order. Here is that order and the reason for each step.[2][3]
Get Flux Dust
Everything in this mod starts with Flux Dust. Its tooltip says it is obtained by compressing Redstone Dust with Bedrock and Obsidian. Flux Dust is also the first task of the first quest in the power chapter, "Flux Networks" quest.[2][3][4]
Craft the building blocks
Next, make a Flux Core. You need it for the plug, the point and the controller, and you also need it for the Flux Block.[4]
The Flux Block is the second building block. Your plugs, controller and storage all need it.[4]
Make the Flux Configurator
The Flux Configurator is the other task in that first quest, so craft it while you are there.[2]
Plug, point and storage
Once the first quest is done, "Transferring Power" quest opens. It asks for a Flux Plug, a Flux Point and one Flux Storage block. Each does a different job:[2]
- Flux Plug receives energy passively from adjacent blocks and adds it to your network.[2][3]
- Flux Point actively provides energy to adjacent blocks and removes it from your network.[2][3]
- Basic Flux Storage stores energy for your network.[2][3]

The Flux Controller
"Wireless Inventory Charging" quest also unlocks after the first quest and asks for the Flux Controller. Its tooltip says it enables Wireless Charging on your Flux Network. You can do this quest before or after the plug, point and storage quest.[2][3]

How does Flux Networks work?
7 parts
Flux Networks moves energy through named networks instead of cables. You place devices in the world, connect each one to a network, and the network handles the rest. Everything below is how that works in this pack.[3]
Networks
You make a network from the Create New Network tab. You give it a name, a color, an energy type and a security setting. The security options are Public, Private and Encrypted, and networks also have a password field. Other tabs cover Network Selection, Network Connections, Network Members, Network Settings and Network Statistics.[3]
Players on a network have an access level: Owner, Admin or User. Anyone else is shown as a Stranger. Some operations need admin access and others need owner access, and the screens include options to transfer ownership and delete a network. A separate Super Admin status exists too.[3]
In this pack each player can have up to 5 networks, which is the mod default. Super admins can bypass that limit. Super Admin is enabled, and the required permission level is 1. Players with permission level 3 or 4 can also use commands to set other players as Super Admin. If you turn Super Admin off in networks.enableSuperAdmin, nobody can open a flux device or delete a network without permission.[5]
The device types
- Flux Plug: receives energy passively from adjacent blocks and adds it to your network.[3]
- Flux Point: actively provides energy to adjacent blocks, taking it out of your network.[3]
- Flux Storage (Basic Flux Storage, Herculean Flux Storage and Gargantuan Flux Storage): stores energy for your network.[3]
- Flux Controller: enables wireless charging on your network.[3]

Device settings
Each device has its own screen. It shows the device name, its Priority, its Transfer Limit and its Internal Buffer. It can also show an option to bypass the limit, which then reads Unlimited, and a Power Surge mode that displays Very High. Devices can also use chunk loading, and the screen reports whether the chunk is loading, forced loading or unloaded.[3]
To change many devices at once, switch from Single Editing Mode to Batch Editing Mode, select the items, then edit or disconnect them together.[3]
Chunk loading is allowed in this pack. The setting is general.enableChunkLoading, and it is true.[5]
Capacity and transfer limits
Plugs, Points and the Controller share one default transfer limit of 800,000 (energy.defaultLimit). Storage blocks have their own capacity and transfer limit per tier. The pack uses the mod defaults for all of these values.[5]
- Basic Flux Storage: 2,000,000 capacity, 20,000 transfer limit.[5]
- Herculean Flux Storage: 16,000,000 capacity, 120,000 transfer limit.[5]
- Gargantuan Flux Storage: 128,000,000 capacity, 720,000 transfer limit.[5]
You upgrade storage tier by tier. The Basic tier has its own recipe, while the Herculean and Gargantuan tiers each use the tier below.[4]

Wireless charging
Once your network has a Controller, the Wireless Charging tab lets you choose which of your slots get charged. The tab lists armor, curios, hotbar, main hand and off hand slots, and the main inventory is labelled as disabled. The screen also tells you whether wireless charging is effective on the selected network.[3]
To stop specific items from being charged, add them to blacklist.itemBlackListStrings. In this pack that list is empty.[5]
What the pack changes
The mod normally lets you compress Redstone Dust with Bedrock and Obsidian to get Flux Dust. This pack sets general.enableFluxRecipe to false, so that compression is off. Flux Dust is used in several of the mod's recipes, so you need another source. The pack's Goat event has Flux Dust in its loot pool, with a weight of 8.[3][4][5][6]
The pack blacklists one block, actuallyadditions:block_phantom_energyface, so flux devices will not connect to it. You can extend that list with blacklist.blockBlacklistStrings.[5]
Compatibility and probe info
GregTech integration is enabled in integration.enableGTCEU, but it only applies if GregTech CE Unofficial Modern is installed. The conversion is 4 FE to 1 GTEU and is not configurable. The EU-to-FE conversion comes from GTCEU, not Flux Networks. GTCEU needs nativeEUToPlatformNative enabled and euToPlatformRatio set to 4. Changing this setting needs a restart.[7]
If you use The One Probe, basic info shows the network name, the live transfer rate and the internal buffer. Advanced info shows the transfer limit and priority. In this pack advanced info only appears while you sneak.[7]
How do you progress through Flux Networks?
5 parts
Flux Networks progression in this pack is short and easy to follow. The mod has three quests in the power chapter, and they split into a starter step followed by two branches. Past that, your tiers come from the storage upgrade line and the crafting recipes below.[2]
Step 1: Flux Dust and the Flux Configurator
Everything starts with quest "Flux Networks" quest. It asks you to submit Flux Dust and the Flux Configurator. The other two Flux Networks quests come after this one.[2]
Step 2: Flux Core and Flux Block
Flux Core and Flux Block have no quest of their own. They are crafting components, and you will meet them again in the recipes for the rest of the line, so make them early.[4]
Step 3: Plug, Point and storage
Quest "Transferring Power" quest unlocks after the first quest. It asks for a Flux Plug, a Flux Point and one flux storage block.[2]

Storage tiers
Flux storage has three tiers: Basic, Herculean and Gargantuan. You craft Basic first, upgrade it to Herculean, and upgrade Herculean to Gargantuan. Each step uses the previous tier's block.[4]

In the recipe data for this pack, all of these recipes are listed as the mod's own recipes. Nothing in the sources shows the pack changing them.[4]
Unverified The sources don't say how much energy each storage tier holds, how to obtain Flux Dust, or what the wipe recipes for the Plug, Point, Controller and storage blocks are meant to do. Check these in-game before relying on them.
How does Flux Networks work with other mods?
3 parts
Flux Networks has two cross-mod links in this pack, and both are crafting recipes that the pack added itself. Neither is a normal crafting table recipe. They are custom machine recipes filed under a "world_engine" id.[4]
Flux Dust meets Applied Energistics 2
One pack-added recipe takes Flux Dust and combines it with an item from Applied Energistics 2 and vanilla redstone. The recipe id is named flux_dust_x2, which hints that it is about getting more Flux Dust. The dump doesn't show what the recipe produces, so treat that as a guess until you've seen it in game.[4]
Custom Machine (custommachinery)
Recipe id: ftb:world_engine/flux_dust_x2
Custom machine recipe added by the pack.
Flux Core in a multi-mod recipe
The second recipe is much bigger. It uses Flux Core alongside items from Avaritia, Oritech and MFFS, and it also takes Neutron Collector as an input. Its id is neutron_collector, so it is clearly tied to that Avaritia block. That makes the Flux Core part of a late-game, multi-mod crafting chain.[4]
Custom Machine (custommachinery)
2× Crystal Matrix Ingot
Neutron Collector
16× Flux Core
2000× Fortron Fluid
4× Advanced Machine Core
Reactor Neutron Reflector
3× Small Plutonium Pellet
1000× Strange Matter
Recipe id: ftb:world_engine/neutron_collector
Custom machine recipe added by the pack.
Unverified The recipe dump doesn't list the outputs, machine requirements or processing time for either world_engine recipe. Check them in game or in the recipe viewer before you plan around them. This site does hold FTB StoneBlock 4's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Quests
The Flux Networks quests in the power chapter only ask for Flux Networks items: Flux Dust, Flux Configurator, Flux Plug, Flux Point, the flux storage blocks and Flux Controller. They are "Flux Networks" quest, "Transferring Power" quest and "Wireless Inventory Charging" quest. None of them requires another mod's items, so the quest book shows no direct cross-mod link for Flux Networks.[2]
Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use Flux Networks?
3 parts
Flux Networks shows up in one quest chapter in this pack: the "power" chapter. It has three quests, and none of them has a title, so they appear here by their IDs.[2]
Where you start
"Flux Networks" quest is the entry point. It asks you to hand in Flux Dust and a Flux Configurator. The other two Flux Networks quests unlock after it.[2]
What unlocks next
Two quests follow once you finish the first one. The chapter doesn't put them in order relative to each other, so you can do them in either order.[2]
- "Transferring Power" quest asks for three things: a Flux Plug, a Flux Point, and one storage block. The storage task accepts a Basic Flux Storage, a Herculean Flux Storage or a Gargantuan Flux Storage, so any one of the three counts.[2]
- "Wireless Inventory Charging" quest asks for a single item: the Flux Controller.[2]
Suggested order
- Complete "Flux Networks" quest with Flux Dust and a Flux Configurator.[2]
- Then take "Transferring Power" quest (Flux Plug, Flux Point and a storage block) and "Wireless Inventory Charging" quest (Flux Controller) in whichever order you like.[2]
Unverified The quest source doesn't include titles, descriptions or rewards for these quests, so what they reward isn't confirmed here.
Which Flux Networks config options matter?
4 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Most Flux Networks options live in the server config, and the common config only holds a note saying so. Wherever the pack's config lists a mod default, the pack's value matches it. Here are the options you're most likely to care about.[8][9]
Energy storage and transfer
The pack's server config also lists the mod default next to each energy value, and every one of them matches it. Nothing here was changed by the pack.[9]
- energy.basicCapacity is 2,000,000 and energy.basicTransfer is 20,000 for a Basic Flux Storage.[9]
- energy.herculeanCapacity is 16,000,000 and energy.herculeanTransfer is 120,000 for a Herculean Flux Storage.[9]
- energy.gargantuanCapacity is 128,000,000 and energy.gargantuanTransfer is 720,000 for a Gargantuan Flux Storage.[9]
- energy.defaultLimit is 800,000. It is the default transfer limit of a Flux Plug, Point and Controller.[9]
Networks and super admin
- networks.maximumPerPlayer is 5, the mod default. Super admins can bypass the limit, -1 means no limit, and 0 means only super admins can create networks.[9]
- networks.enableSuperAdmin is true. If it were off, nobody could access a flux device or delete a network without permission.[9]
- networks.superAdminRequiredPermission is 1, the mod default. A player needs at least that permission level (see ops.json) to activate Super Admin, and single player can bypass this.[9]
Chunk loading, recipes and blacklists
general.enableChunkLoading is true, so flux devices are allowed to enable chunk loading. general.enableFluxRecipe is false, which means the flux dust crafting recipe that this option controls is switched off. The sources don't show whether that differs from the mod default.[9]
blacklist.blockBlacklistStrings contains one entry, actuallyadditions:block_phantom_energyface. Flux devices won't connect to that block. blacklist.itemBlackListStrings only holds an empty string, so no items are blacklisted from wireless charging.[9]
Integration and display
integration.enableGTCEU is true. It only applies if GregTech CE Unofficial Modern is installed, and the conversion is fixed at 4 FE = 1 GTEU. The EU-to-FE conversion itself comes from GTCEU, not Flux Networks. Changing this setting needs a game or server restart.[8]
The One Probe options are all true: OneProbe.enableOneProbeBasicInfo for network name, live transfer rate and internal buffer, OneProbe.enableOneProbeAdvancedInfo for transfer limit and priority, and OneProbe.enableOneProbeSneaking, which shows the advanced info only while you sneak.[8]
On the client side, gui.enableButtonSound is true, so navigation buttons make a sound, and gui.enableModernDesign is true, which gives the classic GUI the modern design when ModernUI is installed.[10]
