What is IntegratedDynamics?
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
This pack includes Integrated Dynamics version 1.16.1, built for Minecraft 1.18.2, and it has been in the pack since this release or earlier. If you want to match your setup to the pack, that's the version to look for.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't describe what Integrated Dynamics does, who it's aimed at, or where it fits in this pack's progression, so those details are left out here. Check in-game or the mod's own documentation for how its features work in this version.
How do you get started with IntegratedDynamics?
5 parts
IntegratedDynamics is about building logic networks out of cables and other pieces. This page walks you through the first things to craft, in a sensible order, and what this pack's config says about each step.[2][3]
First, craft the guide book
This pack does not give you the info book when you first spawn, and the book does not give item rewards for finishing its tutorial. So you need to craft On the Dynamics of Integration yourself.[3][4]

Not handed out on first spawn here: see item.on_the_dynamics_of_integration.obtainOnSpawn.
Logic Cables and the Logic Programmer
Logic Cable is the backbone of your networks. One craft gives you 3 cables, and there is also a rotated version of the same recipe. The mod's own advancement for networks asks you to build a network with at least 10 connected cables.[2][4]
Crafting Shaped

Next, make the Logic Programmer. Opening its GUI is one advancement, and visually creating a recipe with it is another.[2][4]
Crafting Shapeless
- Crystalized Menril Block
- Crafting Table
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/logic_programmer
If you want to carry it around, there is a recipe that turns it into a Portable Logic Programmer, and another that turns it back.[4]
Power
The Generator produces 20 RF/t in this pack's config. The pack also sets the network energy consumption multiplier to 0.[3][4]

Menril and the Drying Basin
Menril trees are most easily found in Meneglin biomes, and this pack sets the Meneglin spawn weight in the overworld to 5. Chopping one down is an advancement. Menril logs can also generate filled with Menril Resin, at a 1 in 10 chance in this pack's config.[2][3][5]
The mod's advancement for Menril production is to process Menril Log into Menril Resin and dry it to obtain Crystallized Menril. In this pack, the extractor from XyCraft Machines also has a recipe that makes 5 Menril Resin. For the drying step, craft a Drying Basin.[2][4]

A pack-changed recipe
This pack changes the recipe for Proto Chorus, so do not rely on the mod's default. The block below shows the exact in-pack version.[4]
Fabricating (ftbevolutioncompanion)
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/proto_chorus
This recipe is changed by the pack.
How does IntegratedDynamics work?
7 parts
IntegratedDynamics is a logic mod. You connect Logic Cables into a network, attach parts that read from or write to the world, and use variables to make decisions. The mod's own advancement descriptions ask you to build a logic network with at least 10 connected Logic Cables, and others have you craft a Block Reader, Inventory Reader, Machine Reader, Redstone Reader, Display Panel, Delayer, Materializer and Proxy.[2]
Networks and cables
Everything starts with Logic Cable. In this pack the crafting recipe gives you three cables at a time.[4]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/cable
This recipe makes 3 Logic Cables.
Parts can reach past the block they sit on. These are the reach and update settings in this pack's config:[3]
- machine.general.maxPartOffset is 32, so a part can target a block up to 32 blocks away.[3]
- machine.general.maxDirectionalConnectorOffset is 512, so a directional connector can look up to 512 blocks for its target.[3]
- machine.general.defaultPartUpdateFreq is 1, so new parts update every tick by default.[3]
- general.general.partsMinimumUpdateInterval is 1, the minimum update interval in ticks enforced for all parts.[3]
- general.general.partMinimumUpdateIntervals is empty, so no per-part overrides are set.[3]
What your network can read
The mod's language file describes the values a reader can expose. Here are the groups that matter most for automation, as that file words them:[2]
- Inventories: whether the target has an inventory, whether it is empty, non-empty or has every slot filled, and a fill ratio (non-empty slots divided by total slots).[2]
- Fluids: whether the target has a tank, whether it is empty, non-empty or full, and a fill ratio (fluid in the active tank divided by its capacity).[2]
- Energy: whether the target handles energy, whether energy can really be extracted or inserted (storage and capacity are taken into account), empty and full checks, and a fill ratio.[2]
- Machines: whether the target is a worker machine, is currently working, has work to process, or would be able to start working in its current state.[2]
- World: day or night, clear weather, rain or thunderstorm, whether the target space has a player, mob, animal, item or entity, and the ticks per second of the world.[2]
On the output side, the language file lists aspects for the pulse length in ticks, the pulse value to emit, and a strong power option that simulates a Redstone Torch instead of regular Redstone Dust. There is also a redstone clock read aspect that pulses with a configurable length and interval.[2]
Variables and the Logic Programmer
Values travel through the network as variables. The mod's advancement descriptions walk you through crafting a Variable Card, defining a constant Integer, showing it in a Display Panel, and using Variable Input and Output Transformers. A Delayer can keep a history variable, and the advancements use that for latches and toggles written to a Redstone Writer. A Materializer materializes a variable, and a Proxy holds a proxy variable.[2]
Complex expressions are built visually in the Logic Programmer. One advancement has you create a recipe with it. There are two ways to craft it in this pack.[2][4]
Crafting Shapeless
- Crystalized Menril Block
- Crafting Table
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/logic_programmer
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/logic_programmer_from_portable
This pack's config sets some hard limits you can run into when building big expressions:[3]
- machine.delay.maxHistoryCapacity is 1,024, the maximum value history length that can be maintained.[3]
- core.general.operatorRecursionLimit is 256, which caps how deep the recursion stack on an operator can get.[3]
- machine.general.valueEncodingMaxDepth is 512, the maximum nesting depth of an encoded value.[3]
- machine.general.valueEncodingMaxLength is 65,536, the maximum length of an uncompressed encoded value.[3]
- machine.general.valueDecodingEnabled is true, so encoded values may be decoded.[3]
Power
Each part has a base energy usage in the config. These are the values this pack uses:[3]
- general.general.blockReaderBaseConsumption is 1.[3]
- general.general.delayerBaseConsumption is 2.[3]
- general.general.proxyBaseConsumption is 2.[3]
- general.general.variablestoreBaseConsumption is 4.[3]
- general.general.connectorMonoDirectionalBaseConsumption is 32.[3]
- general.general.connectorOmniDirectionalBaseConsumption is 128.[3]
- general.general.panelDisplayBaseConsumptionDisabled is 1, the usage of a Display Panel that has no variable.[3]
- general.general.panelDisplayBaseConsumptionEnabled is 2, the usage of a Display Panel that has a variable.[3]
- general.general.panelLightStaticBaseConsumption is 0.[3]
- general.general.panelLightDynamicBaseConsumption is 0.[3]
- general.general.energyConsumptionMultiplier, the energy usage multiplier for networks, is set to 0.[3]
The Generator (shown in game as Generator) is your basic power source. Here is how this pack's config sets up generation and storage:[3][4]
Crafting Shapeless
Energy Battery
- Furnace
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/coal_generator
- machine.coal_generator.energyPerTick is 20, so the Generator produces 20 RF/t.[3]
- machine.energy_battery.capacity is 1,000,000, the default capacity of an energy battery.[3]
- machine.energy_battery.energyRateCapacityFraction is 2000, meaning a battery may transfer a 1/2000 fraction of its capacity per tick.[3]
- machine.energy_battery.minEnergyRate is 2000, the minimum energy transfer rate per tick.[3]
- core.general.energyRateLimit is 2,147,483,647, the maximum network energy transfer rate.[3]
The mechanical machines have their own energy settings in this pack's config:[3]
- Mechanical Drying Basin: machine.mechanical_drying_basin.capacity is 100,000.[3]
- Mechanical Drying Basin: machine.mechanical_drying_basin.consumptionRate is 80.[3]
- Mechanical Squeezer: machine.mechanical_squeezer.capacity is 100,000.[3]
- Mechanical Squeezer: machine.mechanical_squeezer.consumptionRate is 80.[3]
- Mechanical Squeezer: machine.mechanical_squeezer.autoEjectFluidRate is 500, the mB per tick it can auto-eject.[3]
Menril and processing
The mod's Menril advancement describes the basic chain: process Menril Log into Menril Resin, then dry it to obtain Crystallized Menril. Menril trees are easiest to find in Meneglin biomes.[2]
- biome.general.meneglinBiomeSpawnWeight is 5, the weight of the Meneglin biome spawning in the overworld.[5]
- worldgeneration.menril_log_filled.filledMenrilLogChance is 10, the x in a 1/x chance that generated Menril wood is filled with Menril Resin.[3]
This pack also gives you other routes to Menril materials:[4]
- An extractor recipe from XyCraft Machines produces 5 Menril Resin.[4]
- A centrifuge recipe from Productive Bees produces a Crystallized Menril Chunk and Wax.[4]
- Mystical Agriculture has recipes that output 16 Menril Log, 8 Menril Berries and 8 Menril Sapling.[4]
Eating Menril Berries gives night vision in this pack, because item.menril_berries.nightVision is true.[3]
Pack changes worth knowing
The pack changes how Proto Chorus is made. Its recipe uses a fabricating recipe type from FTB Evolution 2 Companion instead of the mod's own crafting.[4]
Fabricating (ftbevolutioncompanion)
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/proto_chorus
Keeping networks healthy
If a network crashes your game, the config has a safe mode (core.general.safeMode). When enabled, networks stop ticking and values are no longer shown or evaluated, and the config describes it as a way to fix crashing networks by temporarily enabling the option. In this pack it is set to false. Corrupted networks are set to be restored automatically on the first tick (core.general.recreateCorruptedNetworks is true). Network elements only tick while their chunk is loaded, because core.general.tickUnloadedNetworkElements is false.[3]
The ingredient network observer settings in this pack's config are:[3]
- core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverEnableMultithreading is true, so the observer can work on a separate thread.[3]
- core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverThreads is 4, the number of threads it can use.[3]
- core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverFrequencyMin is 5, the fastest observation frequency in ticks.[3]
- core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverFrequencyMax is 40, the slowest observation frequency in ticks.[3]
Unverified The full list of operators, part behaviours and wiring examples is not covered by the sources here, because the mod's in-game guidebook text was not available.
How do you progress through IntegratedDynamics?
4 parts
The sources for this pack don't show a tier ladder for IntegratedDynamics, so here is what the in-pack recipes give you, grouped in the order you'll probably reach for them.[4]
Network basics
Everything starts with Logic Cable. The pack has two crafting recipes for it (a normal one and a rotated one), and each makes 3 cables.[4]
Crafting Shaped

Machines and power
The pack has crafting recipes for the Squeezer and Drying Basin, plus Mechanical Squeezer and Mechanical Drying Basin. For power there are the Generator and the Energy Battery.[4]
Getting Menril materials
Menril has several routes into the pack, and some come from other mods:[4]
- XyCraft Machines has an extractor recipe for Menril that gives 5 Menril Resin.[4]
- Mystical Agriculture has essence recipes for 8 Menril Berries, 16 Menril Log and 8 Menril Sapling.[4]
- Productive Bees has a centrifuge recipe for Menril honeycomb that gives a Crystallized Menril Chunk and Wax.[4]
- A shapeless crafting recipe also makes 9 Crystallized Menril Chunk at a time.[4]
A pack change to watch: Proto Chorus
The recipe for Proto Chorus is changed by the pack. It uses a fabricating recipe type instead of normal crafting, so don't expect the mod's default recipe.[4]
Fabricating (ftbevolutioncompanion)
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/proto_chorus
This is the pack's version of the recipe.
How does IntegratedDynamics work with other mods?
4 parts
In this pack, IntegratedDynamics meets other mods in a few recipes. Most of them centre on Menril Resin, and there is one Productive Bees recipe that gives you a menril item.[4]
IntegratedTerminals glass
IntegratedTerminals adds recipes for Chorus Glass and Menril Glass. They run in the IntegratedDynamics drying basin and its mechanical version. The Chorus Glass recipes take 1,000 of Liquid Chorus, and the Menril Glass recipes take 1,000 of Menril Resin. So the fluids from IntegratedDynamics feed straight into the IntegratedTerminals glass.[4]

The mechanical drying basin version of the same recipe.
Menril Resin and the Cognition Array
The pack adds its own recipe that turns Menril Resin into Cognition Array. It uses the fabricating recipe type from FTB Evolution 2 Companion and takes 16,000 Menril Resin to make 2 Cognition Arrays. This recipe is not part of IntegratedDynamics itself, so don't expect to find it in a vanilla install of the mod.[4]
Fabricating (ftbevolutioncompanion)
Recipe id: ftb:fabricating/cognition_array
Added by the pack: 16,000 Menril Resin makes 2 Cognition Arrays.
Productive Bees
Productive Bees has a centrifuge recipe that gives you Crystallized Menril Chunk and Wax. That makes it a bee-based way to get a menril item.[4]
Centrifuge (productivebees)
Recipe id: productivebees:centrifuge/integrateddynamics/honeycomb_menril
Centrifuge recipe that outputs a Crystallized Menril Chunk and Wax.
Facades and hidden items
The pack has a script that removes the recipes of some items from other mods and hides those items from recipe viewers. It skips the IntegratedDynamics facade crafting recipe type (integrateddynamics:crafting_special_facade) when it does this, so facade recipes are left alone.[6]
Which IntegratedDynamics config options matter?
5 parts
Here are the IntegratedDynamics options you are most likely to touch, with the exact values this pack ships. The sources only show the pack's values, not the mod's defaults, so I won't say which ones the pack changed. Everything below is a standing value in the pack's config. The one exception is safe mode, which the config describes as something to enable only temporarily, to fix a crashing network (see the tip below).[3]
Energy
- general.general.energyConsumptionMultiplier is 0 in this pack. It is the energy usage multiplier for networks.[3]
- core.general.energyRateLimit is 2,147,483,647, the maximum network energy transfer rate.[3]
- machine.coal_generator.energyPerTick is 20, so the coal generator produces 20 RF/t.[3]
- The energy battery has a capacity of 1,000,000 (machine.energy_battery.capacity). It can transfer 1/2000 of that per tick (machine.energy_battery.energyRateCapacityFraction), and the minimum transfer rate per tick is 2000 (machine.energy_battery.minEnergyRate).[3]
- The mechanical squeezer has an energy capacity of 100,000 (machine.mechanical_squeezer.capacity) and a consumption rate of 80 (machine.mechanical_squeezer.consumptionRate).[3]
- The mechanical drying basin has an energy capacity of 100,000 (machine.mechanical_drying_basin.capacity) and a consumption rate of 80 (machine.mechanical_drying_basin.consumptionRate).[3]
- The squeezer can auto-eject 500 mB per tick (machine.mechanical_squeezer.autoEjectFluidRate).[3]
Part base consumption
- The mono-directional connector uses 32 (general.general.connectorMonoDirectionalBaseConsumption) and the omni-directional connector uses 128 (general.general.connectorOmniDirectionalBaseConsumption).[3]
- The variable store uses 4 (general.general.variablestoreBaseConsumption).[3]
- The proxy uses 2 (general.general.proxyBaseConsumption) and the delayer uses 2 (general.general.delayerBaseConsumption).[3]
- Readers and writers are set to 1, for example general.general.blockReaderBaseConsumption and general.general.redstoneWriterBaseConsumption.[3]
- Both light panels use 0 (general.general.panelLightDynamicBaseConsumption, general.general.panelLightStaticBaseConsumption).[3]
Parts, offsets and logic limits
- general.general.partsMinimumUpdateInterval is 1 tick and machine.general.defaultPartUpdateFreq is 1. The per-part list general.general.partMinimumUpdateIntervals is empty.[3]
- A part can target up to 32 blocks away (machine.general.maxPartOffset). A directional connector can look up to 512 blocks for its target (machine.general.maxDirectionalConnectorOffset).[3]
- core.general.operatorRecursionLimit is 256. It exists to avoid crashes when building things like the omega operator.[3]
- Value decoding is enabled (machine.general.valueDecodingEnabled). Encoded values can nest 512 deep and be 65,536 long (machine.general.valueEncodingMaxDepth, machine.general.valueEncodingMaxLength).[3]
- core.general.tickUnloadedNetworkElements is false, and core.general.recreateCorruptedNetworks is true, so corrupted networks are restored on the first tick.[3]
Performance
- The ingredient network observer is multithreaded (core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverEnableMultithreading) with 4 threads (core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverThreads).[3]
- Its fastest observation frequency is 5 ticks (core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverFrequencyMin) and its slowest is 40 ticks (core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverFrequencyMax).[3]
- Cable models are cached (core.general.cacheCableModels). machine.cable.dynamicShape is true, and the config says to disable it if you get FPS issues.[3]
- Part overlays render up to 15 (general.general.partOverlayRenderdistance), and part offsets are shown from 16 (machine.general.partOffsetRenderDistance).[3]
Items, world and compat
- The info book does not give item rewards (item.on_the_dynamics_of_integration.bookRewards is false) and is not handed out on first spawn (item.on_the_dynamics_of_integration.obtainOnSpawn is false).[3]
- Menril berries give night vision when eaten (item.menril_berries.nightVision is true).[3]
- worldgeneration.menril_log_filled.filledMenrilLogChance is 10. That is a 1/x chance, so a higher value means fewer resin-filled Menril logs.[3]
- In the compat config, biome.general.meneglinBiomeSpawnWeight is 5. It is the overworld spawn weight, and 0 disables spawning.[5]
- JEI and REI heuristic tag detection are both on (core.general.jeiHeuristicTags, core.general.reiHeuristicTags).[5]
