What is Apotheosis?
1 part
Apotheosis is a content mod that lets you gear up with procedurally generated loot items that have powerful bonuses. It also brings new foes, so the extra power comes with extra danger. This pack ships version 9.1.0.[1][2][3]
Apotheosis is split into modules. Apothic Attributes adds the new attributes and potion effects the rest relies on, Apothic Spawners lets you pick up and modify Mob Spawners, and Apothic Enchanting overhauls the enchanting system. The adventure module is the one that gives you Affixes, Gems and World Tiers.[1]
What you will be doing with it
- Affix items: affixes can strengthen any item you find, from vanilla or other mods. Each affix item has a Rarity that controls which affixes it gets and how strong they are.[1]
- Gems and sockets: gems are socketed into affix items for extra bonuses, and a Sigil of Socketing can add sockets to an item that has none.[1][4]
- World Tiers: there are five, from lowest to highest: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. Higher tiers give better loot but make every enemy in your world stronger.[1]
- Apothic enemies: once you reach Frontier, Apothic Invaders spawn and always drop an affix item, and Apothic Elites come with extra loot.[1]
- Crafting your own gear: break affix items down in the Salvaging Table for Rarity Materials, reforge items in the Reforging Table, and at the end of the road use the Augmenting Table to upgrade or reroll single affixes.[1][5][6][7]
The mod's in-game guidebook is the Chronicle of Shadows. It covers the content in much more detail, and content that a modpack disables will not be visible in the book.[1]
Unverified Where this pack's quest book places Apotheosis (its chapter, group, and what comes before and after it), and whether the ATM Star path uses the mod, is told by the quest book itself. The sources used for this guide do not show it.
How do you get started with Apotheosis?
5 parts
Apotheosis is about loot, so your first steps are less about crafting and more about finding gear, then learning how to break it down and rebuild it. The mod's in-game guidebook is the Chronicle of Shadows. Keep it handy, because it covers far more than this page.[1][3]
The sources here show no quests for this mod in the pack, so the guidebook and JEI are your best guides.[1]
Step 1: Find some affix items
Affix items are gear with bonuses on them. You find them in loot chests and as drops from random mobs that spawn in your world. The rarity you find depends on your World Tier. Haven is unlocked when you find your first affix item and is active by default. Press CTRL+T to open the World Tier select screen later on.[1][8][9]
Gems turn up in chest loot too, and they can rarely drop from mobs. Hold on to both, because you will use them in the next steps.[10]
Step 2: Make a Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials. Those materials are what you spend on reforging and gem upgrades, so this is the first station to build.[7][9]

Your first station: it turns spare affix items into Rarity Materials.
Each rarity gives its own material: Mysterious Scrap Metal from common items, Timeworn Fabric from uncommon, Luminous Crystal Shard from rare, Arcane Sands from epic, and Godforged Pearl from mythic.[7][11]
Step 3: Reforge your own gear
Craft a Simple Reforging Table to reforge items up to Rare rarity. It works on any valid item, even one with no affixes yet. You put the item in the center slot, the Rarity Materials in the top-left slot and Sigil of Rebirth in the bottom-right slot.[6]

Step 4: Get started with gems
You make your first two Gem Dust by crushing two gems with an anvil. After that, the Salvaging Table can produce it. You can socket a gem by combining it with an item in a Smithing Table, or by right-clicking the gem onto the item in any inventory.[1][10][12]
Build a Gem Cutting Table to upgrade gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. JEI shows the exact cost.[13]

Later on
- The Gem Case stores your gems and can upgrade them in place, which makes the Gem Cutting Table obsolete.[15]
- The Augmenting Table is an end-game station that upgrades or rerolls single affixes using Sigil of Enhancement. It is best used on Mythic items, and perhaps Epic ones.[5]
How does Apotheosis work?
9 parts
Apotheosis keeps its machines simple. The sources describe a handful of crafting tables that you operate by hand through slots and buttons, plus a storage block for gems. This section walks through each one, what it consumes and what it gives back.[5][6][7][13][15]
Salvaging Table: the starting point
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials. Ordinary equipment and gems can be salvaged too. Each rarity gives its own material, and the other tables use these materials as currency.[7][9]
- Common items give Mysterious Scrap Metal.[7][11]
- Uncommon items give Timeworn Fabric.[7][11]
- Rare items give Luminous Crystal Shard.[7][11]
- Epic items give Arcane Sands.[7][11]
- Mythic items give Godforged Pearl.[7][11]
Gems salvage into Gem Dust. The pack has a salvaging recipe for every purity from chipped up to perfect. Your first Gem Dust comes from crushing gems with an anvil in the world, and after a few crushed gems you can switch to the Salvaging Table.[1][11][12]
Gem Cutting Table
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. Purity runs from Cracked to Perfect, and a Perfect gem cannot be upgraded any further. Stronger gems cost more Gem Dust and higher-tier Rarity Materials, and you can see the exact cost in JEI.[10][13]

Gem Case
The Gem Case is storage built for gems. It holds up to thirty two thousand gems of each type and purity, and it can be upgraded to hold more. It has a name filter and an item filter, so you can search by gem name or by the items a gem fits in.[15]
The case also has six auxiliary slots for upgrade materials. If enough materials and gems are inside, you can upgrade gems directly in the case, which makes the Gem Cutting Table obsolete. The upgrade button shows the cost, and it can upgrade as many gems as possible in one go.[9][15]

Reforging
Reforging gives an item brand new affixes. It works on any valid item, not only items that already have affixes. Start with a Simple Reforging Table, which reforges items up to Rare. For Epic and above you need to upgrade it into a Reforging Table.[6]
- The table has three input slots. The centre slot holds the item you want to reforge.[6]
- The top-left slot holds Rarity Materials for the rarity you want to reforge with.[6]
- The bottom-right slot holds Sigils of Rebirth, the fuel for reforging.[6]
- Like an Enchanting Table, you get three choices, and none is inherently stronger than the others. Each rarity has a base cost of levels, materials and sigils. The second and third choices require double and triple the level requirement and materials. Click the choice you want.[6]
Items can be reforged multiple times. The guide also notes that modpacks can change the costs or block reforging at certain rarities.[6]
Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is an end-game station that upgrades or rerolls a single affix and leaves the rest of the item intact. The guide says to augment items of at least Mythic rarity, though Epic ones are worth considering. Crafting it means focusing a Nether Star through two Godforged Pearls, with an Enchanting Table as the base.[5]

The upper input slot takes the affix item. The lower slot takes Sigils of Enhancement, the fuel. You then pick the affix from the drop-down menu.[5]
- Upgrade: costs two Sigils of Enhancement and 225 levels, and raises the internal strength of the affix by 25%. Affixes without levels cannot be upgraded.[5]
- Reroll: costs one Sigil of Enhancement and 175 levels, and swaps the affix for another of the same type. The alternatives are shown on the left.[5]
Infusion Enchanting
Infusion Enchanting is crafting done through the Enchanting Table. Each recipe has a single item input and three stat requirements. Infusions only use the third slot and cost three Lapis Lazuli. They also charge the level cost of the recipe's requirement, with a minimum of 3. Place the item in the slot, and if your stats are right the third slot lights up. Click it to infuse.[17]
In this pack, infusion is how you make God-Fused Pearl and Infused Spawner Rune, as well as the Gem Case of House Fabergé above.[11]
Spawner Runes and the fluid recipe
Apothic Spawners lets you move and modify mob spawners, and Apotheosis replaces its upgrade recipes with Spawner Runes.[18]
One rune has a recipe that only exists in this pack: the Thundering Spawner Upgrade Rune is made by fabricating, from 4,000 of the time fluid source from Just Dire Things.[11]
Fabricating (ftbevolutioncompanion)
Recipe id: ftb:fabricating/pinnacle_spawner_upgrade_rune
Added by the pack, not a mod default.
Automation notes
If you plan to farm mobs for gems, gem drops are more common for real players and have only a very small chance to drop from machines or other automation sources. Gems are more likely to drop from Bosses.[10]
World Tiers
World Tiers are the other system that shapes what you find. A tier is a per-player strength modifier with five steps: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. Open the select screen with CTRL+T by default. Unlocked tiers do not turn on by themselves, so you have to press Activate. In multiplayer, players can sit in different tiers, and most content uses the tier of the closest player.[19][20]
Unverified The default unlock requirements for each tier are in the in-game guide, but modpacks may change them. The pack has a script at kubejs/server_scripts/systems/world_tiers.js, and the sources here do not show its contents. Check the Apothic World Tiers advancements tab in game for this pack's real requirements.
How do you progress through Apotheosis?
5 parts
Apotheosis progression in this pack runs on two tracks: the five World Tiers, which scale the world around you, and the Enchanting Table levels, which scale your gear. Both are explained by the mod's in-game guide.[19][21][22]
World Tiers
A World Tier is a per-player strength modifier. Each tier changes what content shows up, how strong enemies are and what bonuses you can get. There are five: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle.[19]
Higher tiers make higher rarity items and Invaders more common, and they adjust which gems can spawn and with which purities. Tier augments also apply, including limits on your maximum enchanting and damage reduction for monsters in Summit and Pinnacle.[19]
Tiers are unlocked by completing advancements, not quests. These are the default requirements from the in-game guide. Modpacks may change them, so check the "Apothic World Tiers" advancements tab for what applies to you.[23]
- Haven: enabled by default, but you will not see it until you pick up your first Affix Item.[23]
- Frontier: equip an Affix Item in each armor slot and hold an Affixed Weapon in either hand.[23]
- Ascent: equip a full set of Uncommon Affix Items including a weapon, and slay an Apothic Invader.[23]
- Summit: acquire a full set of Rare Affix Items and slay the Wither.[23]
- Pinnacle: obtain a full set of Epic items and slay the Ender Dragon.[23]
Enchanting Table levels
- Level 30: the usual way, with fifteen bookshelves.[24]
- Level 45: build Hellshelves and add them to your existing Bookshelves. If you would rather skip the Nether, Seashelves from the Ocean also work.[25]
- Level 60: learn Infusion Enchanting from Apothic Enchanting, then infuse and upgrade a few more of the shelf type you were using.[25]
- Level 70: needs a Level 60 table and Deepslate. Craft a Dormant Deepshelf and infuse it into a Deepshelf. The infusion needs some extra blocks to reach its stat threshold.[26]
- Level 75: upgrade your Deepshelves with materials from the Deep Dark. Echo Shards come from the Ancient City, and Sculk needs Silk Touch.[26]
- Level 80: slay the Warden, which allows crafting Sculkshelves.[26]
- Level 90: needs a Level 80 table and Dragon's Breath, which you turn into Infused Dragon's Breath for Endshelves.[27]
- Level 100: the maximum. Only a Draconic Endshelf provides this, and it needs a Dragon Head from the outer End. It boosts a table from Level 90 to Level 100 but gives no other stat bonuses.[27]
Salvaging affix items
Affix Items drop from Apothic Elites, among other places. Break unwanted ones down at the Salvaging Table.[11][28]

- Mythic gives Godforged Pearl.[11]
End-game: the Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is the end-game station for upgrading or rerolling single affixes while leaving the rest of the item intact. It is built by focusing a Nether Star through two Godforged Pearls, with an Enchanting Table as the base.[5]

Spawner upgrade runes
Apotheosis replaces its spawner upgrade recipes with Spawner Runes. Three of the four upgrade runes use ordinary crafting recipes: Frontiersman's Spawner Upgrade Rune, Wayfarer's Spawner Upgrade Rune and Mountaineer's Spawner Upgrade Rune.[11][18]
The pack changes the fourth. Thundering Spawner Upgrade Rune is made with a fabricating recipe added by the pack through FTB Evolution 2 Companion, which consumes 4,000 of the Just Dire Things time fluid source.[11]
Fabricating (ftbevolutioncompanion)
Recipe id: ftb:fabricating/pinnacle_spawner_upgrade_rune
Added by the pack, so you will not find this recipe in plain Apotheosis.
How does Apotheosis work with other mods?
2 parts
Apotheosis mostly stands on its own in this pack, so the links to other mods are few. The clearest one is a pack-added recipe that ties its Spawner Runes to Just Dire Things.[11][18]
Spawner Runes and Just Dire Things
Apotheosis replaces its spawner upgrade recipes with Spawner Runes. In this pack, the Thundering Spawner Upgrade Rune is made through a fabricating recipe that the pack itself adds. It takes Time Fluid Source from Just Dire Things as its input, so you will need that mod's fluid on hand before you can make the rune.[11][18]
Fabricating (ftbevolutioncompanion)
Recipe id: ftb:fabricating/pinnacle_spawner_upgrade_rune
This is a pack-added fabricating recipe, not an Apotheosis default.
Occultism
Apotheosis ships an item tag called cannot_be_duplicated. Its only entry is the Shattered Soul Shard item from Occultism, and the entry is marked as not required, so the tag still loads without that mod.[29]
Which Apotheosis config options matter?
6 parts
Apotheosis keeps its settings in the config/apotheosis folder, split across several files: the main file, one for Apothic Attributes, one for Apothic Enchanting, one for Apothic Spawners and one for name generation. Here are the options you are most likely to care about, and what this pack sets them to.[1][16][30][31][32]
The one clear change: inline enchantment descriptions
[[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_enchanting.cfg#client.Enable Inlined Enchantment Descriptions]] is true in this pack, while the mod default is false. So enchantment descriptions show up right in item tooltips. Translations for vanilla enchantments need the 'Enchantment Descriptions' mod.[16]
Augmenting costs
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#augmenting.Reroll Level Cost]] is 175 experience levels to reroll an affix in the Augmenting Table, and [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#augmenting.Reroll Sigil Cost]] is 1 Sigil of Enhancement.[30]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#augmenting.Upgrade Level Cost]] is 225 experience levels to upgrade an affix, and [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#augmenting.Upgrade Sigil Cost]] is 2 Sigils of Enhancement.[30]
Bosses
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#bosses.Boss Spawn Cooldown]] is 3,600 ticks between any two natural boss spawns in a single dimension.[30]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#bosses.Boss Announcement Range]] is 140 blocks, ignoring y-level.[30]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#bosses.Boss Auto-Aggro]] is false, so invading bosses do not automatically target the closest player. [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#bosses.Boss Glowing On Spawn]] is true, so bosses glow when they spawn.[30]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#bosses.Curse Boss Items]] is false, so boss items are not always cursed.[30]
Spawners and world generation
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_spawners.cfg#general.Spawner Silk Level]] is 1, which is the level of silk touch needed to harvest a spawner. [[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_spawners.cfg#general.Spawner Silk Damage]] is 100 durability damage to the tool.[32]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_spawners.cfg#general.Spawners Drop Empty]] is false, so a broken spawner does not clear its contained entity.[32]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_spawners.cfg#general.Entity Despawn Delay]] is 600 ticks of despawn protection for mobs that came from a spawner.[32]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#worldgen.Generation Dimension Whitelist]] limits Apotheosis worldgen to the overworld. [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#spawners.Spawner Value Chance]] is 0.11, the chance a Rogue Spawner has a valuable chest.[30]
Progression and quality of life
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#world_tiers.Enable Manual World Tier Changes]] is true, so you can change your world tier yourself in the World Tier Selection Screen.[30]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#quality_of_life.Enable Item Linking]] is true, with [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#quality_of_life.Item Linking Cooldown]] at 100 ticks between item links to chat.[30]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/apotheosis.cfg#quality_of_life.Enable Equipment Comparisons]] is true, so the comparison popup appears while you hold its hotkey.[30]
Apothic Attributes
In Apothic Attributes, [[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_attributes.cfg#effects.Ancient Knowledge Multiplier]] is 4 per level for the Experience Gained modifier. [[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_attributes.cfg#combat_rules.Negative Armor Factor]] is 0.015, so each point of negative armor adds 1.5% to incoming damage.[31]
The combat formulas, such as [[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_attributes.cfg#combat_rules.Armor Formula]] and [[config:config/apotheosis/apothic_attributes.cfg#combat_rules.Protection Formula]], are all set to the mod's default expressions. The Attributes GUI and potion tooltips are both enabled.[31]
What changed in Apotheosis between versions?
FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 ships Apotheosis 9.1.0, using the file Apotheosis-26.1.2-9.1.0.jar. The mod was already in the pack in 1.0.2 or earlier, so it isn't a new addition in this release.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show what changed in Apotheosis 9.1.0 itself or in earlier versions. Those details live in the mod's own changelog, whose contents were not provided. The pack changelogs also have no entries for this mod, so any pack-specific changes to it across releases are not shown here.
