What is Sushi Go Crafting?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Sushi Go Crafting is a food mod about making sushi, and it's a lot more involved than smacking ingredients together. You get a small discovery minigame to find the perfect recipe, and a well-made sushi gives you effects on top of food and saturation. This pack includes version 0.6.5 of the mod.[1][2][3]
It's a good fit if you like cooking and experimenting, or you just want food with real benefits. The sushi types are Maki, Gunkan, California, Nigiri, Onigiri and Temaki.[1]
How it works
Most ingredients have a weight, and many carry an effect or a modifier that changes the effects of other ingredients. When you combine them into a sushi roll, all of those effects stack up. If ingredients refuse to combine, you've probably gone over the max amount.[1][4]
The Roller is your main tool. You pick a sushi type, put ingredients in the right slots, choose how much of each to use, then left click the Roller repeatedly to produce your sushi. A perfect roll gives better food values and effects.[5]
Your kitchen
- Cutting Board: place ingredients on it with right click, then chop them with a Cleaver Knife. Sneak + right click removes them.[6]
- Cooler Box: put weighted ingredients inside and they combine automatically.[7]
- Rice Cooker: cooks Rice with Water and some fuel, and combines the Cooked Rice in the output for you.[8]
Eating well-made sushi can give you Small Bites (a small chance of not consuming the item), Acquired Taste (extra food) or Steady Hands (extra weight from a cutting board).[9]
Finding ingredients
- Avocado trees generate in the world, mostly in plains. Right click the leaves to harvest a fully grown avocado.[10]
- Seaweed generates in the world, and Tuna and Shrimp spawn in the ocean.[1][11]
- Seeds come from breaking grass. Crops grow normally except Rice, which must be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
- Nori Sheets come from a Dried Kelp Block, made from ocean Kelp, squished between an Iron Block and a piston.[13]
- Tobiko drops from killing fish.[14]
Unverified The sources I have show no quests and no ATM Star path involvement for this mod, so its place in the pack's progression is unconfirmed.
How do you get started with Sushi Go Crafting?
6 parts
Welcome to Sushi Go Crafting! This mod is a food mod where you make sushi through a small discovery minigame, and the ingredients you choose decide the effects you get when you eat. Here is the order I'd go in to get cooking.[1]
Step one: seeds and basic ingredients
Start by breaking grass to collect seeds. Most crops grow like normal crops, but Rice is the exception: it has to be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
The pack also adds Immersive Engineering cloche recipes that use dirt plus a seed to grow Rice, Cucumber, Soy Bean, Wasabi Root and Sesame Seed. Each one gives the seed back, so you can keep a cloche running.[15]
Step two: Cleaver Knife and Cutting Board
Chopping is an important step. Right click a Cutting Board to place ingredients on it, then right click them with a Cleaver Knife to chop them. Sneak and right click the board to take ingredients off again.[6]
The pack changed both of these recipes, so use the ones below rather than what you remember from the mod's defaults.[15]

This is the pack's version of the Cutting Board recipe.
The pack also adds sawmill woodcutting recipes that make a Cutting Board from many different log types, including logs from other mods.[15]
Step three: the Roller
The Roller is the most important tool for making sushi. Pick the type of sushi, put ingredients in the right slots, choose how much of each to use, then left click the Roller a bunch of times. The tooltip shows how far you are from the perfect weight, and a perfect roll gives you better food values and effects. Weights you have already discovered are shown for you, so you don't need to memorize them.[5]

The pack changed this recipe.
Step four: the Rice Cooker
Once you have rice, build a Rice Cooker. It needs Rice, Water and some fuel, and the Cooked Rice in the output slot combines its weights automatically.[8]

Step five: the Cooler Box
Most ingredients have a weight, and weights can be combined in the crafting table. If you'd rather automate that, place them in a Cooler Box and they combine on their own. If ingredients refuse to combine, it may be because the result would go over the max amount.[4][7]

Gathering from the world
- Nori: find Kelp in the oceans and make a Dried Kelp Block. Squish the dropped block between an Iron Block and a piston to get Nori Sheets.[13]
- Avocado: look for Avocado trees, mostly in plains, and right click the fully grown fruit on the leaves to harvest it.[10]
- Tuna and Shrimp: you can find them in the ocean.[11]
- Tobiko: you get it from killing fish.[14]
How does Sushi Go Crafting work?
8 parts
Sushi Go Crafting is a food mod built around a small discovery minigame, so most of what you do here is with hand tools and a couple of helper blocks. Everything revolves around ingredient weights: you chop, combine and roll ingredients, and the result decides how good your food is.[1][4][5]
Ingredient weights
Most ingredients have a weight, and you can combine those weights in the crafting table or in a Cooler Box if you want it done automatically. If two ingredients refuse to combine, you have probably gone over the maximum amount.[4]
Most ingredients also carry an effect, or an effect modifier that changes the effects of the other ingredients. These all get merged when you make a sushi roll, so what you eat gives you more than plain food and saturation.[1][4]
Cooler Box
The Cooler Box is the only automation helper the sources describe. Place ingredients that have weight inside and they combine on their own.[7]

Cutting Board and Cleaver Knife
Chopping is an important step. Right click the Cutting Board to place ingredients on it, then right click with a Cleaver Knife to chop them. To take ingredients off again, sneak and right click the board.[6]

The pack also adds sawmill woodcutting recipes that turn logs from other mods into a Cutting Board, for example Peach logs and Zelkova logs.[15]
Roller
The Roller is the most important tool for making sushi, and you need to experiment with it. Select the type of sushi, place ingredients in the correct slots, choose how much of each you want, then left click the Roller a bunch of times to get your sushi.[5]
The tooltip tells you how far you are from the perfect weight. A perfect roll gives better food values and effects. The Roller also shows perfect weights you have already discovered, so you don't have to memorize them.[5]

The mod makes these types of sushi: Maki, Gunkan, California, Nigiri, Onigiri and Temaki.[1]
Rice Cooker
The Rice Cooker is the one real machine in the sources. Feed it Rice, Water and some fuel. You don't need to worry about weights in the output slot, because Cooked Rice combines automatically.[8]

Eating effects
Using different types of ingredients gives you different effects. These ones are described in the sources:[9]
- Small Bites: while you have it, eating gives a small chance of not consuming the item.[9][16]
- Acquired Taste: eating gives extra nutrition and saturation.[9][16]
- Steady Hands: using a cutting board gives extra weight in your ingredients.[9][16]
Growing ingredients
You get seeds by breaking grass. Most crops grow like normal crops, but Rice has to be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
If you would rather automate it, the pack adds Immersive Engineering cloche recipes for rice, cucumber, soy bean, sesame seed and wasabi root. Each one returns its seeds too. Here is the rice one:[15]

How do you progress through Sushi Go Crafting?
4 parts
Unverified This mod has no quests in the pack's quest book and is not on the main quest path, so there is no quest-driven order to follow. The stages below are a suggested order based on what each step needs, not an official progression.
Gather ingredients
Start by collecting raw ingredients. You can get seeds by breaking grass, and most crops grow like normal crops. Rice is the exception: it needs to be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
The pack also adds Immersive Engineering cloche recipes for the main crops. Put dirt and the matching seeds in a cloche and you get the crop plus its seeds back. This works for Rice, Cucumber, Soy Bean, Wasabi Root and Sesame Seed.[15]
Other ingredients come from the world. Avocado trees are mostly found in plains, and you harvest the fruit from fully grown leaves with a right click. Tuna and shrimp live in the ocean, and Tobiko drops from killing fish.[10][11][14]
For Nori, find kelp in the oceans and turn it into a Dried Kelp Block. Then squish that block between an Iron Block and a piston to get Nori Sheets.[13]
Basic tools
Next you need the hand tools. The pack changed the recipes for the Cleaver Knife, Cutting Board and Roller, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults.[15]

| Empty slot | any iron ingot | any iron ingot |

Recipe id: sushigocrafting:cutting_board
The pack also adds sawmill recipes that turn logs from many different tree types into a Cutting Board, so you can use whatever wood you have on hand.[15]
To chop, right click the Cutting Board to place ingredients, then right click with the Cleaver Knife. Sneak + right click takes ingredients back off.[6]
The Roller is the most important sushi tool. Pick a sushi type, place ingredients in the correct slots, choose how much of each to use, then left click the Roller repeatedly. The tooltip shows how far you are from the perfect weight, and a perfect roll gives better food values and effects.[5]
Machines and storage
The Rice Cooker cooks your rice. It needs Rice, Water and some fuel, and it combines the Cooked Rice in the output slot for you. The pack changed its recipe too.[8][15]
Crafting Shaped

The Cooler Box automates weight combining. Most ingredients have a weight, and you can combine them in the crafting table or just drop them in the Cooler Box. If they won't combine, you've probably gone over the maximum amount. This recipe is also pack-changed.[4][7][15]

Better food and effects
Once the basics work, you can optimise. Different ingredient types give different effects, and many ingredients carry an effect or a modifier that amplifies other ingredients. Chasing perfect weights on the Roller improves your results further.[4][5][9]
A few potion effects matter here. Small Bites gives a small chance of not consuming the food item when you eat. Acquired Taste gives extra food. Steady Hands gives extra weight in your ingredients when you use a cutting board.[9]
How does Sushi Go Crafting work with other mods?
1 part
In this pack, Sushi Go Crafting connects to other mods through one item: the Cutting Board. The pack adds a long list of its own woodcutting recipes that turn logs, wood, stems and hyphae from many other mods into a Cutting Board. Whichever modded forest you end up in, you can turn what you chop there into the board you need.[15]
You place ingredients on the Cutting Board by right clicking it, then right click with a Cleaver Knife to chop them up. To take ingredients back off, sneak and right click the board.[6]
Woodcutting (sawmill)
Recipe id: sawmill:sushigocrafting_cutting_board_0
One example, using Peach wood. The other tree types follow the same pattern with their own wood.
Which woods work
Each recipe covers one tree family and gives a Cutting Board. For the Productive Trees style woods, one recipe accepts the log, stripped log, wood and stripped wood of that tree. For most other mods the recipe accepts just the log and wood, or the stem and hyphae. Here are the groups, with a few examples each.[15]
- productivetrees: Peach Log, Almond Log, Walnut Log, Mahogany Log, Sequoia Log and Elm Log all work, and so do their stripped variants.[15]
- biomeswevegone: Zelkova Log, Sakura Log, Aspen Log, Fir Log, White Mangrove Log, Green Enchanted Log and Rainbow Eucalyptus Log, plus the matching wood blocks.[15]
- regions_unexplored: Magnolia Log, Willow Log, Baobab Log, Cypress Log, Cobalt Log and Brimwood Log, plus Green Bioshroom Stem and Green Bioshroom Hyphae. The Alpha tree is the odd one out: its recipe only lists Alpha Log.[15]
- deeperdarker: Echo Log and Echo Wood, plus Blooming Stem and Stripped Blooming Stem.[15]
- Other mods each add one recipe: Fungyss Stem with Fungyss Hyphae, Menril Log with Menril Wood, Undead Log with Undead Wood, Sortingwood Log with Sortingwood Wood, and Jinglestem Log with Jinglestem Wood.[15]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Sushi Go Crafting?
2 parts
This mod has a single quest in the pack, and it sits in the Building Tips chapter, which is the decoration and building chapter of the quest book. The quest is "Sushi Go Crafting" quest.[17]
Where it sits in the chapter
The chapter starts with "Building Tips!" quest. From there, "Decoration!" quest comes next. That quest is about how modded Minecraft has far more decoration than just stairs. After it comes "Decor Mods!" quest, which points you at mods the author found perfect for decorating a house or base.[17]
Sushi Go Crafting unlocks straight after "Decor Mods!" quest. It is one of several quests that branch off that same quest, next to others such as "Farmer's Delight" quest, "Cooking for Blockheads" quest and "Handcrafted" quest.[17]
What the quest asks for
The quest has a single item task. Its text says the mod doesn't add many blocks, but the ones it does add are highly recommended for your kitchen. It singles out the Rice Cooker, so you can stop using the microwave for rice.[17]
Unverified The exact item the quest asks you to hand in is not named in the quest data available here, so check it in the quest book in-game.
What changed in Sushi Go Crafting between versions?
1 part
Sushi Go Crafting has been in All the Mods 10 for a long time. It was first included in version 2.2 or earlier, and All the Mods 10 4.11 ships Sushi Go Crafting 0.6.5, from the file sushigocrafting-1.21-0.6.5.jar.[18]
Updates across pack releases
- All the Mods 10 2.37 updated Sushi Go Crafting from 0.6.3 to 0.6.4.[19]
- All the Mods 10 4.0 updated Sushi Go Crafting from 0.6.4 to 0.6.5.[20]
- All the Mods 10 4.11 still includes Sushi Go Crafting 0.6.5, so the mod version is the same as it was in 4.0.[18][20]
Unverified The mod's own changelogs aren't available, so we can't confirm what 0.6.4 or 0.6.5 changed, such as fixes, new foods or recipe changes. The pack changelogs only record the version bumps.
