What is Sushi Go Crafting?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Sushi Go Crafting is a food mod about making sushi, and it's a lot more involved than smacking ingredients together. You get a small discovery minigame to find the perfect recipe, and a well-made sushi gives you effects on top of food and saturation. This pack includes version 0.6.5 of the mod.[1][2][3]
It's a good fit if you like cooking and experimenting, or you just want food with real benefits. The sushi types are Maki, Gunkan, California, Nigiri, Onigiri and Temaki.[1]
How it works
Most ingredients have a weight, and many carry an effect or a modifier that changes the effects of other ingredients. When you combine them into a sushi roll, all of those effects stack up. If ingredients refuse to combine, you've probably gone over the max amount.[1][4]
The Roller is your main tool. You pick a sushi type, put ingredients in the right slots, choose how much of each to use, then left click the Roller repeatedly to produce your sushi. A perfect roll gives better food values and effects.[5]
Your kitchen
- Cutting Board: place ingredients on it with right click, then chop them with a Cleaver Knife. Sneak + right click removes them.[6]
- Cooler Box: put weighted ingredients inside and they combine automatically.[7]
- Rice Cooker: cooks Rice with Water and some fuel, and combines the Cooked Rice in the output for you.[8]
Eating well-made sushi can give you Small Bites (a small chance of not consuming the item), Acquired Taste (extra food) or Steady Hands (extra weight from a cutting board).[9]
Finding ingredients
- Avocado trees generate in the world, mostly in plains. Right click the leaves to harvest a fully grown avocado.[10]
- Seaweed generates in the world, and Tuna and Shrimp spawn in the ocean.[1][11]
- Seeds come from breaking grass. Crops grow normally except Rice, which must be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
- Nori Sheets come from a Dried Kelp Block, made from ocean Kelp, squished between an Iron Block and a piston.[13]
- Tobiko drops from killing fish.[14]
Unverified The sources I have show no quests and no ATM Star path involvement for this mod, so its place in the pack's progression is unconfirmed.
How do you get started with Sushi Go Crafting?
7 parts
Sushi Go Crafting is a food mod built around a small discovery minigame: you combine ingredients into sushi, hunt for the perfect result, and get food effects on top of the usual hunger and saturation. Here's the order I'd set things up in. The pack changes the recipes for the core tools below, so use the recipe blocks rather than anything you remember from the base mod.[1][15]
First, a Cleaver Knife
The Cleaver Knife is how you chop ingredients, so it comes first.[6]

The pack also adds woodcutting recipes that turn many different modded logs into Cutting Boards, so you aren't tied to one wood type.[15]
Then, a Roller
The Roller is the most important tool for making sushi. Pick the type of sushi, put ingredients in the correct slots, choose how much of each to use, then left click the Roller a bunch of times. The tooltip tells you how far you are from the perfect weight, and a perfect roll gives better food values and effects. The Roller also shows perfect weights you've already discovered.[5]
Get rice and a Rice Cooker
You can get seeds by breaking grass. Most crops grow like normal ones, but Rice has to be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
The Rice Cooker needs Rice, Water and some fuel. You don't need to worry about weights in its output slot, because Cooked Rice combines automatically.[8]

Get Nori
Find Kelp in the oceans and make a Dried Kelp Block from it. Drop the block as an item between an Iron Block and a piston, and squishing it gives you Nori Sheets.[13]
Automate weights with a Cooler Box
Most ingredients have a weight, and you can combine those weights in the crafting table. The Cooler Box does it for you: place the ingredients inside and they combine automatically. If ingredients won't combine, you've probably gone over the max amount.[4][7]

How does Sushi Go Crafting work?
8 parts
Sushi Go Crafting is a food mod built around a small discovery minigame: you combine ingredients into sushi and try to hit the perfect result. The systems that matter are ingredient weights, the Cutting Board, the Roller, the Rice Cooker and the Cooler Box.[1][4]
Ingredient weights
Most ingredients have a weight, and you can combine weights in a crafting table or in a Cooler Box. If ingredients refuse to combine, you have probably gone over the maximum amount.[4]
Most ingredients also carry an effect, or a modifier that changes the effects of other ingredients. When you roll a sushi, all of these get combined, so you get more than just food and saturation.[1][4]
Cooler Box: automated combining
The Cooler Box combines ingredients that have weight for you. You just place them inside and they get combined.[7]

Cutting Board
Chopping is an important cooking step. Right click the Cutting Board to place ingredients on it, then right click with a Cleaver Knife to chop them. To take ingredients back off, Sneak + Right Click the board.[6]
The Steady Hands effect makes chopping better. It increases the amount you get from chopping on the cutting board, so it gives extra weight in your ingredients.[6][9][16]
The pack changed the recipes for both the board and the knife.[15]

The pack also adds sawmill woodcutting recipes that turn many modded logs into Cutting Boards.[15]
Roller
The Roller is the most important tool for making sushi. You need to experiment with it first. Making a roll shows in the tooltip how far you are from the perfect weight, and a perfect roll gives better food values and effects.[5]
- Select the type of sushi you want.[5]
- Place the ingredients in the correct slots.[5]
- Select how much of each ingredient you want to use.[5]
- Left click the Roller repeatedly to produce your sushi.[5]
The mod has these sushi types: Maki, Gunkan, California, Nigiri, Onigiri and Temaki.[1]

Rice Cooker
The Rice Cooker cooks rice. You need Rice, Water and some fuel. You don't have to worry about weights in the output slot, because Cooked Rice is combined automatically.[8]
Rice itself is grown underwater on dirt, unlike the other crops, which grow like normal ones.[12]

Nori by piston
Nori Sheets come from kelp found in the oceans. Make a Dried Kelp Block from the kelp. Then drop it as an item and squish it between an Iron Block and a piston to get Nori Sheets.[13]
Eating effects
- Small Bites: while you have this effect, eating gives you a small chance of not consuming the item.[9][16]
- Acquired Taste: while you have this effect, eating gives extra food, meaning extra nutrition and saturation.[9][16]
- Steady Hands: while you have this effect, chopping on the cutting board gives extra weight.[9][16]
Using different types of ingredients in a sushi gives you different effects.[9]
What the sources don't cover
The pack changed the recipe for the Fermentation Barrel, but none of the sources explain how it works.[15]
Unverified The sources here show no config files for this mod in the pack, so any adjustable values for its machines are not shown. Treat anything beyond the behavior above as unconfirmed.
How do you progress through Sushi Go Crafting?
3 parts
Sushi Go Crafting has no formal tiers in this pack. This section follows the order the mod's in-game guide and the in-pack recipes suggest: make your tools, gather ingredients, then build the machines that automate the work.[3][15]
Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, so the quest book does not guide this order. The order below follows the in-pack recipes and the mod's own in-game guide. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Your starter tools
Chopping is the first real step. You place ingredients on the Cutting Board with right click, then right click them with a Cleaver Knife to chop them up. Sneak + right click the board to take ingredients back off.[6]
The pack changes the Cleaver Knife recipe from the mod's default, so use this one.[15]

The pack also changes the Cutting Board recipe. On top of that, the pack adds sawmill woodcutting recipes that turn the logs and wood of many modded trees into Cutting Boards, so you aren't limited to vanilla wood.[15]

Next is the Roller, which the in-game guide calls the most important tool for making sushi. You pick the sushi type, put ingredients in the right slots, choose amounts and left click the Roller repeatedly. The tooltip shows how far you are from the perfect weight, and a perfect roll gives better food values and effects. It also shows perfect weights you've already discovered.[5]

The pack changes this recipe from the mod's default.
Gather ingredients
- Seeds come from breaking grass. Most crops grow like normal crops, but Rice has to be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
- Avocado trees generate in the world, mostly in plains. Right click the leaves to harvest a fully grown avocado.[10]
- Tuna and Shrimp are creatures you find in the ocean.[11]
- Tobiko drops from killing fish.[14]
- For Nori Sheets, find Kelp in the oceans and make a Dried Kelp Block from it. Drop the block as an item and squish it between an Iron Block and a piston.[13]
Most ingredients carry an effect, or a modifier that amplifies effects from other ingredients, and most have a weight. Mixing ingredient types changes the effects of your sushi. Steady Hands, for example, gives extra weights when you use a Cutting Board.[4][9]
Machines and automation
The Rice Cooker cooks rice from Rice, Water and some fuel. It combines the Cooked Rice in the output slot automatically, so you don't need to manage weights there. The pack changes its recipe.[8][15]

The Cooler Box combines ingredients that have weight. Place them inside and it merges them for you, which is the automated alternative to combining them in a crafting table. The pack changes this recipe too.[4][7][15]

How does Sushi Go Crafting work with other mods?
1 part
The links between this mod and the rest of the pack come from recipes, and they all revolve around one item: the Cutting Board.[15]
The pack adds a long list of woodcutting recipes (the sawmill:woodcutting type) that turn logs and wood from other mods straight into a Cutting Board. Each recipe covers one tree type, so you can use the wood from many different mods.[15]
Woodcutting (sawmill)
Recipe id: sawmill:sushigocrafting_cutting_board_0
One of the pack's woodcutting recipes. Peach wood is the example here, and the other tree types follow the same pattern.
Where a tree has stripped variants, those are accepted too. For Peach that means Peach Log, Peach Stripped Log, Peach Wood and Peach Stripped Wood. Some recipes, like the Aspen one, accept only the log and the wood.[15]
Which woods work
- Productive Trees woods, with stripped variants accepted, such as Walnut Log, Elm Log, Mahogany Log, Sequoia Log and Ginkgo Log.[15]
- Biomes We've Gone woods, such as Aspen Log, Sakura Log, Zelkova Log and Fir Log.[15]
- Regions Unexplored woods, such as Baobab Log, Willow Log, Cypress Log and Magnolia Log. Alpha Log is accepted too, and so are the fungus stems Green Bioshroom Stem and Green Bioshroom Hyphae.[15]
- Woods from single mods: Echo Log and Blooming Stem, Fungyss Stem, Undead Log, Menril Log, Sortingwood Log and Jinglestem Log.[15]
Beyond these recipes, the only other mod links the sources show are the mod's own dependencies: it depends on Titanium, and it requires JEI and Patchouli for a better experience.[1]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Sushi Go Crafting?
1 part
This mod has one quest in the pack, and it sits in the "Building Tips" chapter: "Sushi Go Crafting" quest. It's an item quest, and the quest book doesn't name the item it asks for in the data I have.[17]
The quest's text says the mod doesn't add many blocks, but you should use the ones it does add in your kitchen. It singles out the Rice Cooker, so you no longer need the microwave for rice.[17]
Where it sits in the chapter
The quest book builds up to it in three steps. The chapter starts with "Building Tips!" quest, and "Decoration!" quest comes after that. "Decor Mods!" quest follows Decoration, and Sushi Go Crafting comes after Decor Mods!.[17]
Several other quests unlock from Decor Mods! too, so Sushi Go Crafting sits in the same group as these:[17]
- "Cooking for Blockheads" quest, which is also about making the kitchen your home.[17]
- "Farmer's Delight" quest, about farming and cooking food.[17]
- "Handcrafted" quest, "Storage Delight" quest and "Macaw's Furniture" quest, for furniture and storage.[17]
- "Macaw's Mods" quest, "Mr Crayfish's Mods" quest and "Macaw's Holidays" quest, which lead on to further quests.[17]
No other quest in this chapter lists Sushi Go Crafting as a prerequisite, so it's a standalone stop in the Decor Mods! group.[17]
What changed in Sushi Go Crafting between versions?
Here's how Sushi Go Crafting has moved through the pack's releases. The sources I have only cover the pack changelog entries, so this is a short rundown of version bumps rather than a list of what each update changed in the mod itself.[18][19][20]
- All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier: Sushi Go Crafting was already part of the pack by this point.[20]
- All the Mods 10 2.37: updated from 0.6.3 to 0.6.4.[19]
- All the Mods 10 4.0: updated from 0.6.4 to 0.6.5.[18]
- All the Mods 10 4.10: still on 0.6.5, shipped as the file sushigocrafting-1.21-0.6.5.jar.[20]
Unverified What actually changed inside the mod between 0.6.3, 0.6.4 and 0.6.5 (new items, recipe tweaks, fixes) is unverified, because no changelogs are stored for the shipped jars.
