What is Sushi Go Crafting?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Sushi Go Crafting is a food mod about making sushi, and it's a lot more involved than smacking ingredients together. You get a small discovery minigame to find the perfect recipe, and a well-made sushi gives you effects on top of food and saturation. This pack includes version 0.6.5 of the mod.[1][2][3]
It's a good fit if you like cooking and experimenting, or you just want food with real benefits. The sushi types are Maki, Gunkan, California, Nigiri, Onigiri and Temaki.[1]
How it works
Most ingredients have a weight, and many carry an effect or a modifier that changes the effects of other ingredients. When you combine them into a sushi roll, all of those effects stack up. If ingredients refuse to combine, you've probably gone over the max amount.[1][4]
The Roller is your main tool. You pick a sushi type, put ingredients in the right slots, choose how much of each to use, then left click the Roller repeatedly to produce your sushi. A perfect roll gives better food values and effects.[5]
Your kitchen
- Cutting Board: place ingredients on it with right click, then chop them with a Cleaver Knife. Sneak + right click removes them.[6]
- Cooler Box: put weighted ingredients inside and they combine automatically.[7]
- Rice Cooker: cooks Rice with Water and some fuel, and combines the Cooked Rice in the output for you.[8]
Eating well-made sushi can give you Small Bites (a small chance of not consuming the item), Acquired Taste (extra food) or Steady Hands (extra weight from a cutting board).[9]
Finding ingredients
- Avocado trees generate in the world, mostly in plains. Right click the leaves to harvest a fully grown avocado.[10]
- Seaweed generates in the world, and Tuna and Shrimp spawn in the ocean.[1][11]
- Seeds come from breaking grass. Crops grow normally except Rice, which must be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
- Nori Sheets come from a Dried Kelp Block, made from ocean Kelp, squished between an Iron Block and a piston.[13]
- Tobiko drops from killing fish.[14]
Unverified The sources I have show no quests and no ATM Star path involvement for this mod, so its place in the pack's progression is unconfirmed.
How do you get started with Sushi Go Crafting?
6 parts
Welcome to the sushi side of the pack! The mod is built around a small discovery minigame: you prepare ingredients, roll them into sushi, and the better your roll, the better the food values and effects. Here is the order I'd go in.[1][5]
First, the Cutting Board and Cleaver Knife
Chopping is your first step. Right click a Cutting Board to place ingredients on it, then right click them with a Cleaver Knife to chop them up. Sneak and right click the board to take ingredients back off. The pack changed both recipes, so check these instead of relying on what you remember from the mod.[6][15]

The pack also adds sawmill woodcutting recipes for the Cutting Board, covering log and wood types from many other mods, so you aren't limited to one kind of wood.[15]
Next, the Roller
The Roller is the most important tool for making sushi, so make it early and start experimenting. Select the type of sushi you want, place ingredients in the correct slots, choose how much of each to use, then left click the Roller a bunch of times. Each roll's tooltip shows how far you are from the perfect weight, and the Roller shows you perfect weights you have already discovered.[5]
Then, the Rice Cooker
The Rice Cooker cooks rice for you. Feed it Rice, Water and some fuel. You don't need to worry about weights in the output slot, because Cooked Rice combines automatically.[8]

After that, Nori
For Nori Sheets, find Kelp in the oceans and make a Dried Kelp Block from it. Drop the block as an item and squish it between an Iron Block and a piston to get the sheets.[13]
Finally, the Cooler Box
Most ingredients have a weight, and ingredients that don't combine may simply be over the maximum amount. You can combine weights in a crafting table, or place them in a Cooler Box and it combines them automatically. The pack changed this recipe too.[4][7][15]

Extra tips
- Different ingredients give different effects. Steady Hands increases what you get from chopping on the cutting board, Acquired Taste gives extra nutrition and saturation when eating, and Small Bites gives a chance to get the food back.[9][16]
- Avocado trees generate in the world, mostly in plains. Right click the leaves to harvest a fully grown avocado.[10]
- Tuna and Shrimp live in the ocean, and you can get Tobiko by killing fish.[11][14]
How does Sushi Go Crafting work?
8 parts
Sushi Go Crafting is a hands-on food mod where you make sushi through a small discovery minigame. This section covers the workstations and tools the sources describe and how each one handles ingredients in this pack.[1][17]
Ingredient weights
Most ingredients have a weight, and you can combine weights in the crafting table or in a Cooler Box. If ingredients refuse to combine, it is probably because the result would go over the maximum amount. Most ingredients also carry an effect, or a modifier that boosts the effects of other ingredients.[4]
Cooler Box
The Cooler Box is the mod's automated way of combining ingredients. Place weighted ingredients inside and they get combined for you.[4][7]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's own.
Cutting Board and Cleaver Knife
- Right click the Cutting Board to place your ingredients on it.[6]
- Right click those ingredients with a Cleaver Knife to chop them up.[6]
- To take ingredients back off, Sneak + Right Click the cutting board.[6]
The Steady Hands potion effect pays off here. While you have it, chopping on the cutting board gives extra weight in your ingredients.[9][16]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's own too.
The pack also adds sawmill woodcutting recipes for the Cutting Board, covering logs and stems from other mods' woods. The visible examples include productivetrees, twilightforest and regions_unexplored woods, plus warped stems.[15]
Rice Cooker
The Rice Cooker cooks rice. You need Rice, Water and some fuel. You don't have to manage weights in the output slot, because Cooked Rice is combined automatically.[8]

Rice itself is grown differently from other crops. It has to be planted underwater on dirt, while most other crops grow like normal ones.[12]
Roller: the sushi minigame
The Roller is the key tool for making sushi, and you have to experiment with it to find the best results. Each roll shows in the tooltip how far you are from the perfect weight. A perfect roll gives better food values and effects.[5]
- Select the type of sushi you want to make.[5]
- Place ingredients in the correct slots.[5]
- Select how much of each ingredient you want to use.[5]
- Left click the Roller a bunch of times to get your sushi.[5]
The sushi types listed for the mod are Maki, Gunkan, California, Nigiri, Onigiri and Temaki.[1]

Nori without a machine
Nori Sheets come from a piston, not a machine. Find Kelp in the oceans and make a Dried Kelp Block from it. Drop the block as an item and squish it between an Iron Block and a piston to get Nori Sheets.[13]
Eating effects
- Small Bites: while you have this effect, eating gives a small chance of not consuming the item.[9][16]
- Acquired Taste: while you have this effect, eating gives extra nutrition and saturation.[9][16]
- Steady Hands: while you have this effect, chopping on the cutting board gives extra weight.[9][16]
Fermentation Barrel
The Fermentation Barrel is part of the mod's item set. The recipe below is the one the pack uses.[15]

How do you progress through Sushi Go Crafting?
4 parts
Sushi Go Crafting has no formal tiers in this pack. What the sources show is a gather, prepare and automate flow, so this section follows that order: hand tools first, then ingredients, then machines, then perfect rolls and effects.[3][15]
Unverified The pack's quest book has no quests for this mod, and the sources here show no quest chain for it. Treat this section as a suggested order of play rather than a quest path.
First: hand tools
The mod's own guide says your hands are your best tool, so you can start without any machinery. The Roller is described as the most important tool for making sushi. The pack changes its recipe from the mod's.[5][15][17]
Next come the Cutting Board and the Cleaver Knife. You place ingredients on the board with right click, then right click with the knife to chop them. Sneak and right click the board to take ingredients off. The pack changes both recipes.[6][15]
Crafting Shaped

The pack also adds sawmill woodcutting recipes that make a Cutting Board from the logs and wood of many tree types, including modded ones. You aren't limited to vanilla wood.[15]
Next: gather ingredients
- Seeds drop from breaking grass. Most crops grow like normal crops, but Rice has to be grown underwater on dirt.[12]
- Avocado trees generate in the world, mostly in plains. Right click the leaves to harvest once the fruit is fully grown.[10]
- Tuna and Shrimp are found in the ocean.[11]
- Tobiko comes from killing fish.[14]
- For Nori Sheets, find Kelp in the oceans and make a Dried Kelp Block. Then squish the dropped Dried Kelp Block between an Iron Block and a piston.[13]
Most ingredients have a weight, and many carry an effect or an effect modifier that changes the effects of other ingredients. If ingredients refuse to combine, you've probably gone over the maximum amount.[4]
Then: machines
The Rice Cooker cooks rice from Rice, Water and some fuel. Cooked Rice combines automatically in the output slot, so you don't have to manage weights. The pack changes this recipe.[8][15]
Crafting Shaped
| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | |

| any iron ingot | any redstone dust | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: sushigocrafting:rice_cooker
The Cooler Box combines weighted ingredients for you. Place them inside and they merge automatically, which is the automated alternative to combining them in the crafting table. The pack changes this recipe too.[4][7][15]
Crafting Shaped
| any chest | ||
Recipe id: sushigocrafting:cooler_box
The pack also changes the recipe for the Fermentation Barrel.[15]

Recipe id: sushigocrafting:fermentation_barrel
Seaweed On A Stick uses the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.[15]
Finally: perfect rolls and effects
Once you have ingredients, use the Roller by selecting a sushi type, placing ingredients in the correct slots and choosing how much of each to use. Then left click the Roller repeatedly. The tooltip shows how far you are from the perfect weight, and a perfect roll gives better food values and effects. The Roller also shows perfect weights you've already discovered.[5]
Different ingredient types give different effects. These potion effects are worth knowing about:[9]
How does Sushi Go Crafting work with other mods?
2 parts
The main link between Sushi Go Crafting and the rest of the pack is wood. The pack adds woodcutting recipes that turn logs and wood from lots of other mods into the Cutting Board, the station you chop ingredients on.[6][15]
One board, loads of woods
Each of these recipes is added by the pack and uses the woodcutting recipe type. Each recipe accepts the log and the wood of one tree, stripped or not. The bioshroom trees use stems and hyphae instead. Any of them gives you a Cutting Board, so whatever trees you have nearby will do.[15]
The recipes cover trees from several mods. Here are some examples by namespace:[15]
- Biomes We've Gone: for example Sakura Log, Redwood Log, Skyris Log and Rainbow Eucalyptus Log.[15]
- Regions Unexplored: for example Baobab Log, Palm Log, Cypress Log and the bioshroom stems like Green Bioshroom Stem.[15]
- Twilight Forest: for example Twilight Oak Log, Canopy Tree Log, Mangrove Log and Timewood Log.[15]
- Undergarden: Grongle Log and Wigglewood Log.[15]
- Eternal Starlight: Scarlet Log.[15]
- Productive Trees, which has by far the biggest list. It includes fruit trees such as Mango Log, Banana Log and Orange Log, plus spice and exotic woods like Cinnamon Log, Clove Log and Rosewood Log.[15]
Here are a few examples, each from a different mod:[15]

Why the Cutting Board matters
You place ingredients on the Cutting Board with a right click, then right click with a Cleaver Knife to chop them. Sneak and right click to take ingredients off again. The Steady Hands potion effect gives extra weights in your ingredients when you use a cutting board.[6][9]
Unverified The sources here show no quests in this pack that involve Sushi Go Crafting, so I can't tell you where its items fit in the quest book.
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Sushi Go Crafting?
3 parts
This mod has one quest in the pack, and it sits in the "Building Tips" chapter: "Sushi Go Crafting" quest. That chapter is the pack's building guide, with 90 quests, so the Sushi Go Crafting quest is a short entry in a much bigger page.[18]
The path to the quest
- Start with "Building Tips!" quest, the opening quest of the chapter.[18]
- Next comes "Decoration!" quest, which is about how modded Minecraft has far more decoration than just stairs.[18]
- Then "Decor Mods!" quest, which points you to mods the quest author thinks are great for decorating a house or base.[18]
- Finally "Sushi Go Crafting" quest, the Sushi Go Crafting quest itself.[18]
What the quest says
The quest text says Sushi Go Crafting doesn't add many blocks, but the ones it does add are highly recommended for your kitchen. It singles out the Rice Cooker, saying you no longer need to use the Microwave for rice.[18]
The quest has a single item task. The quest data doesn't name which item it wants, so check the quest in-game to see what it asks for.[18]
Quests next to it
Sushi Go Crafting is one of several quests that unlock after Decor Mods!. The kitchen-related ones in that group are "Cooking for Blockheads" quest and "Farmer's Delight" quest. The rest of the group covers other decor mods: "Handcrafted" quest, "Storage Delight" quest, "Macaw's Mods" quest, "Macaw's Furniture" quest, "Macaw's Holidays" quest and "Mr Crayfish's Mods" quest.[18]
No other quest in this chapter comes after the Sushi Go Crafting quest, so it is the end of its own branch.[18]
What changed in Sushi Go Crafting between versions?
1 part
Sushi Go Crafting has been part of All the Mods 10 for a long time. It was first included in version 2.2 or earlier, and in All the Mods 10 4.6 you're playing Sushi Go Crafting 0.6.5 (the file sushigocrafting-1.21-0.6.5.jar).[19]
Updates across pack releases
- All the Mods 10 2.37 updated Sushi Go Crafting from 0.6.3 to 0.6.4.[20]
- All the Mods 10 4.0 updated Sushi Go Crafting from 0.6.4 to 0.6.5, the version still shipped in 4.6.[19][21]
Unverified The mod's own changelogs aren't available for these versions, so it isn't confirmed what changed in 0.6.4 or 0.6.5 (new features, fixes or balance tweaks). The pack changelogs only record the version bumps.
